ਰੀਝਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਰਹੀ ਹਰ ਅਰਿ ਸਰ ਗਯੋ ਮਾਰਿ ॥੩੩॥
reejh adhik chit mai rahee har ar sar gayo maar |33|
‘It seems some saint has dethroned Lord Indra (who is here now)

ਕੈਧੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਰਿਖਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਆਸਨ ਤੇ ਟਾਰਿ ਦਯੋ ਕੈਧੋ ਇਹ ਸੂਰਜ ਸਰੂਪ ਧਰਿ ਆਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

‘It seems the Sun has come down in this disguise.
ਕੈਧੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਛੋਰਿ ਕੈ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਬਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਾਨ ਤੀਰਥ ਅਨ੍ਰਹੈਬੈ ਕੋ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
kaidho chandr chandralok chhor kai sipaahee ban mere jaan teerath anrahaibai ko sidhaayo hai |
‘It seems some person from the heaven, abandoning the heaven, has come down, ‘On a pilgrimage to have ablution on the earth.
ਕੈਧੋ ਹੈ ਅਨੰਗ ਅਰੁਧੰਗਕ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਕ ਤੇ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਆਪੁ ਕੌ ਛਪਾਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
kaidho hai anang arudhangak ke antak te maanukh ko roop kai kai aap kau chhapaayo hai |
‘It seems the Cupid, afraid of death by Shiva, has adopted the human form, ‘To hide himself,
ਕੈਧੋ ਯਹ ਸਸਿਯਾ ਕੇ ਰਸਿਯਾ ਨੈ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਮੋਰੇ ਛਲਬੇ ਕੌ ਕਛੂ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਬਨਾਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੩੪॥
kaidho yeh sasiyaa ke rasiyaa nai kop kai kai more chhalabe kau kachhoo chhal so banaayo hai |34|
‘May be, Punnu, the desirous of Shashi, getting furious, has enacted a deception to dupe me.’(34)

ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੀ ਸਕਲ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਭੂਲੀ ॥੩੫॥

She was so entranced that she lost the sense of her awareness.(35)

ਸੇਸ ਹੋ ਸੁਰੇਸ ਹੋ ਗਨੇਸ ਹੋ ਮਹੇਸ ਹੋ ਜੀ ਕੈਧੌ ਜਗਤੇਸ ਤੁਮ ਬੇਦਨ ਬਤਾਏ ਹੋ ॥

‘Are you Shiva, Suresh, Ganesh or Mahesh, or an exponent of Vedas and have appeared in person in this world?
ਕਾਲਿੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਕੇ ਏਸ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਲੇਸ ਹੋ ਬਤਾਵੌ ਕੌਨ ਦੇਸ ਕੇ ਨਰੇਸੁਰ ਕੇ ਜਾਏ ਹੋ ॥

‘Are you Es of Kalindri, or you yourself are J ales, tell me which domain you have come from?
ਕਹੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਏਸ ਕਿਹ ਕਾਜ ਨਿਜੁ ਦੇਸ ਛੋਰਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਕੋ ਭੇਸ ਕੈ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਆਏ ਹੋ ॥੩੭॥
kaho mere es kih kaaj nij des chhor chaakaree ko bhes kai hamaare des aae ho |37|
‘Tell me if you are my Lord Es and why have you come to our world as servant leaving your empire.(37)
ਹੌ ਨ ਅਲਿਕੇਸ ਹੌ ਨ ਸਸਿ ਹੌ ਦਿਨੇਸ ਹੌ ਨ ਰੂਪ ਹੂ ਕੇ ਭੇਸ ਕੈ ਜਹਾਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਹਾਯੋ ਹੌਂ ॥
hau na alikes hau na sas hau dines hau na roop hoo ke bhes kai jahaan mai suhaayo hauan |
(Urvassi) ‘Neither I am Kes nor Shesh Nag, Danesh and I have not come to illuminate he world.
ਸੇਸ ਨ ਸੁਰੇਸ ਹੌ ਗਨੇਸ ਹੌ ਮਹੇਸ ਨਹੀ ਹੌ ਨ ਜਗਤੇਸ ਹੌ ਜੁ ਬੇਦਨ ਬਤਾਯੋ ਹੌ ॥

‘Neither I am Shiva, nor Suresh, Ganesh, Jagtesh and nor the exponent of Vedas.
ਕਾਲਿੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਕੇ ਏਸ ਅਥਿਤੇਸ ਮੈ ਜਲੇਸ ਨਹੀ ਦਛਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੇਸ ਕੇ ਨਰੇਸੁਰ ਕੋ ਜਾਯੋ ਹੌ ॥
kaalindree ke es athites mai jales nahee dachhin ke des ke naresur ko jaayo hau |
‘Neither I am Es of Kalindri nor I am Jales, nor the son of the Raja of the South.
ਮੋਹਨ ਹੈ ਨਾਮ ਆਗੇ ਜੈਹੋ ਸਸੁਰਾਰੇ ਧਾਮ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਤਮਾਸੇ ਕਾਜ ਆਯੋ ਹੌ ॥੩੮॥
mohan hai naam aage jaiho sasuraare dhaam sobhaa sun tumaree tamaase kaaj aayo hau |38|
‘My name is Mohan and I am proceeding onward to the house of my inlaws, and on learning about your aptitude, I have come to see you.’(38)

teree sobhaa sun kai sun sundar aayo eehaa chal kos hajaarau |
ਆਜੁ ਮਹੂਰਤ ਹੈ ਤਿਤ ਕੋ ਕਛੁ ਸਾਥ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਬਿਚਾਰੌ ॥
aaj mahoorat hai tith ko kachh saath milai nahee traas bichaarau |
ਰੀਤ ਹੈ ਧਾਮ ਇਹੈ ਹਮਰੇ ਨਿਜੁ ਨਾਰਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਔਰ ਨਿਹਾਰੌ ॥
reet hai dhaam ihai hamare nij naar binaa nahee aauar nihaarau |
ਖੇਲੋ ਹਸੌ ਸੁਖ ਸੋ ਤੁਮ ਹੂੰ ਮੁਹਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਬਿਦਾ ਸਸੁਰਾਰਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੌ ॥੩੯॥
khelo hasau sukh so tum hoon muhi dehu bidaa sasuraar sidhaarau |39|
ਬਾਤ ਬਿਦਾ ਕੀ ਸੁਨੀ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਚੈਨ ਭਈ ਨ ਸੁਹਾਵਤ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥
baat bidaa kee sunee jab hee bin chain bhee na suhaavat jee kee |
ਲਾਲ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਸੀ ਬਾਲ ਹੁਤੀ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਭਈ ਮੁਖ ਕੀ ਛਬਿ ਫੀਕੀ ॥

ਹਾਥ ਉਚਾਇ ਹਨੀ ਛਤਿਯਾ ਉਰ ਪੈ ਲਸੈ ਸੌ ਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਅੰਗੁਰੀ ਕੀ ॥
haath uchaae hanee chhatiyaa ur pai lasai sau mundaree anguree kee |
ਦੇਖਨ ਕੋ ਪਿਯ ਕੌ ਤਿਯ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀ ਅਖਿਯਾ ਜੁਗ ਜਾਨੁਕ ਹੀ ਕੀ ॥੪੦॥

ਜੀਭ ਜਰੋ ਤਿਨ ਨਾਰਿ ਕੀ ਦੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਬਿਦਾ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥੪੧॥

ਕੋਊ ਦਿਨ ਰਹੋ ਹਸਿ ਬੋਲੋ ਆਛੀ ਬਾਤੈ ਕਹੋ ਕਹਾ ਸਸੁਰਾਰਿ ਕੀ ਅਨੋਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਾਗੀ ਹੈ ॥
koaoo din raho has bolo aachhee baatai kaho kahaa sasuraar kee anokhee preet paagee hai |
(Rani) ‘Come, stay here a few days and let us have kind conversations. ‘What is the need of this strange inclination of going to your in-laws?
ਯਹੈ ਰਾਜ ਲੀਜੈ ਯਾ ਕੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਜੈ ਹਾਥੁ ਚਾਇ ਦੀਜੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਯਹੈ ਜਿਯ ਜਾਗੀ ਹੈ ॥
yahai raaj leejai yaa ko raajaa hvai kai raaj keejai haath chaae deejai mohi yahai jiy jaagee hai |
‘Come, take over the reigning and rule over the state. I will hand over to you every thing with my own hands.
ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਕਿਯ ਮਾਰ ਨੈ ਸੁ ਮਾਰ ਮੋ ਕੌ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰ ਭਈ ਨੀਂਦ ਭੂਖਿ ਭਾਗੀ ਹੈ ॥
tum ko nihaar kiy maar nai su maar mo kau taa te bisanbhaar bhee neend bhookh bhaagee hai |
‘Your glimpse has roused my passion and I have become impatient and lost all my appetite and sleep.
ਤਹਾ ਕੌ ਨ ਜੈਯੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਜ ਕੋ ਸੁਹੈਯੈ ਆਨਿ ਲਗਨ ਨਿਗੌਡੀ ਨਾਥ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਲਾਗੀ ਹੈ ॥੪੨॥
tahaa kau na jaiye meree sej ko suhaiyai aan lagan nigauaddee naath tere saath laagee hai |42|
‘Please don’t go there and become the splendour of my bed, as, Oh, My Love, I have fallen in love with you.’(42)
ਏਕ ਪਾਇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੌ ਚੇਰੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਨੀਰ ਭਰੌ ਤੁਹੀ ਕੌ ਬਰੌ ਮੋਰੀ ਇਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
ek paae sevaa karau cheree hvai kai neer bharau tuhee kau barau moree ichhaa pooree keejiyai |
‘Standing on one leg I will serve you and I will love you, and only you.
ਯਹੈ ਰਾਜ ਲੇਹੁ ਹਾਥ ਉਠਾਇ ਮੋ ਕੌ ਟੂਕ ਦੇਹੁ ਹਮ ਸੌ ਬਢਾਵ ਨੇਹੁ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਲਾਲ ਜੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
yahai raaj lehu haath utthaae mo kau ttook dehu ham sau badtaav nehu jaa te laal jeejiyai |
‘Take this reign and leave me just to survive on meagre food as I will subsist whatever the way you wish.
ਜੌ ਕਹੌ ਬਿਕੈਹੌ ਜਹਾ ਭਾਖੋ ਤਹਾ ਚਲੀ ਜੈਹੌ ਐਸੋ ਹਾਲ ਹੇਰਿ ਨਾਥ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
jau kahau bikaihau jahaa bhaakho tahaa chalee jaihau aiso haal her naath kabahoon praseejiyai |
‘Oh, my Master, I will go there and expend myself whenever and wherever you desire.
ਯਾਹੀ ਠੌਰ ਰਹੋ ਹਸਿ ਬੋਲੋ ਆਛੀ ਬਾਤੈ ਕਹੋ ਜਾਨ ਸਸੁਰਾਰਿ ਕੋ ਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਫੇਰ ਲੀਜਿਯੈ ॥੪੩॥
yaahee tthauar raho has bolo aachhee baatai kaho jaan sasuraar ko na naam fer leejiyai |43|
‘Adjudging my circumstances, please take pity on me and remain here for happy talks, and abandon thought of going to in-Iaws.’(43)

ਕ︀ਯੋ ਨਿਜੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤਜਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਤੋਹਿ ਭਜੇ ਧ੍ਰਮ ਜਾਤ ਹਮਾਰੋ ॥
kayo nij triy taj ke sun sundar tohi bhaje dhram jaat hamaaro |
(Urvassi) ‘By deserting my wife if make love with you, then my righteousness will be infringed.
ਰਾਜ ਕਰੌ ਅਪਨੇ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਸੋ ਇਨ ਧਾਮਨ ਬੀਚ ਬਿਹਾਰੋ ॥
raaj karau apane tum hee sukh so in dhaaman beech bihaaro |
‘Better you carryon your sovereignty and remain in your home happily.
ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਜਬ ਤੇ ਤਬ ਤੇ ਤਜਿ ਕਾਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਨਹਿ ਆਨ ਨਿਹਾਰੋ ॥
mai pragattiyo jab te tab te taj kaan triyaa neh aan nihaaro |
‘Since my birth, relinquishing modesty, I have never looked at another woman.
ਕ︀ਯਾ ਤੁਮ ਖ︀ਯਾਲ ਪਰੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਮਨ ਧੀਰ ਧਰੋ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥੪੪॥
kayaa tum khayaal paro hamare man dheer dharo raghunaath uchaaro |44|
‘Whatever the thoughts you may have drowned in, keep patient and meditate on Godly Name.’(44)
ਕ੍ਰੋਰਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਕਰੋ ਲਲਨਾ ਤੁਮ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੈ ਨ ਟਰੋਂਗੀ ॥
kror upaae karo lalanaa tum kel kare bin mai na ttarongee |
(Rani) ‘Oh, my love, you may try thousands of time, but! will not let you go without making love with me.
ਭਾਜਿ ਰਹੋਬ ਕਹਾ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਤੁਹਿ ਆਜ ਬਰੋਂਗੀ ॥
bhaaj rahob kahaa ham te tum bhaat bhalee tuhi aaj barongee |
‘Whatever you may do, you cannot run away, I must achieve you today.
ਜੌ ਨ ਮਿਲੋ ਤੁਮ ਆਜੁ ਹਮੈ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਤਬ ਮੈ ਬਿਖ ਖਾਇ ਮਰੋਂਗੀ ॥
jau na milo tum aaj hamai ab hee tab mai bikh khaae marongee |
If I cannot achieve you today, I will kill myself by taking poison,
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕੇ ਦਰਸੇ ਪਰਸੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਾਵਕ ਮੈਨ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ ਕਰੋਂਗੀ ॥੪੫॥

‘And, without meeting the lover, I will burn myself in the fire of passion.’(45)

As I have heard of the True Guru, so I have seen Him.
ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਮੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਕਾ ਬਸੀਠੁ ॥
vichhurriaa mele prabhoo har daragah kaa baseetth |
He re-unites the separated ones with God; He is the Mediator at the Court of the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਦਾ ਕਟੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ॥
har naamo mantru drirraaeidaa katte haumai rog |
He implants the Mantra of the Lord's Name, and eradicates the illness of egotism.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਧੁਰੇ ਪਇਆ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥੧॥
naanak satigur tinaa milaaeaa jinaa dhure peaa sanjog |1|
O Nanak, he alone meets the True Guru, who has such union pre-ordained. ||1||

ਇਕੁ ਸਜਣੁ ਸਭਿ ਸਜਣਾ ਇਕੁ ਵੈਰੀ ਸਭਿ ਵਾਦਿ ॥
eik sajan sabh sajanaa ik vairee sabh vaad |
If the One Lord is my Friend, then all are my friends. If the One Lord is my enemy, then all fight with me.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦੇਖਾਲਿਆ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਬਾਦਿ ॥
gur poorai dekhaaliaa vin naavai sabh baad |
The Perfect Guru has shown me that, without the Name, everything is useless.
ਸਾਕਤ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਭਰਮਿਆ ਜੋ ਲਗੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਸਾਦਿ ॥
saakat durajan bharamiaa jo lage doojai saad |
The faithless cynics and the evil people wander in reincarnation; they are attached to other tastes.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ॥੨॥
jan naanak har prabh bujhiaa gur satigur kai parasaad |2|
Servant Nanak has realized the Lord God, by the Grace of the Guru, the True Guru. ||2||

The Creator Lord created the Creation.
ਆਪੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਟਿਆ ॥
aape pooraa saahu aape hee khattiaa |
He Himself is the perfect Banker; He Himself earns His profit.
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਰੰਗ ਰਟਿਆ ॥
aape kar paasaar aape rang rattiaa |
He Himself made the expansive Universe; He Himself is imbued with joy.
ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਾਇ ਅਲਖ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਟਿਆ ॥
kudarat keem na paae alakh brahamattiaa |
The value of God's almighty creative power cannot be estimated.
ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰੈ ਪਰਟਿਆ ॥
agam athaah beant parai parattiaa |
He is inaccessible, unfathomable, endless, the farthest of the far.
ਆਪੇ ਵਡ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਵਜੀਰਟਿਆ ॥
aape vadd paatisaahu aap vajeerattiaa |
He Himself is the greatest Emperor; He Himself is His own Prime Minister.
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੀਮ ਕੇਵਡੁ ਮਟਿਆ ॥
koe na jaanai keem kevadd mattiaa |
No one knows His worth, or the greatness of His resting place.
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਟਿਆ ॥੧॥
sachaa saahib aap guramukh paragattiaa |1|
He Himself is our True Lord and Master. He reveals Himself to the Gurmukh. ||1||

Salok, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਜਣ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮੇਰਿਆ ਮੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਿਖਾਲਿ ॥
sun sajan preetam meriaa mai satigur dehu dikhaal |
Listen, O my beloved friend: please show me the True Guru.
ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਵਾ ਮਨੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿਤ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਖਾ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
hau tis devaa man aapanaa nit hiradai rakhaa samaal |
I dedicate my mind to Him; I keep Him continually enshrined within my heart.
ਇਕਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
eikas satigur baaharaa dhrig jeevan sansaar |
Without the One and Only True Guru, life in this world is cursed.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਿਲਾਇਓਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਵਰਤੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
jan naanak satigur tinaa milaaeon jin sad hee varatai naal |1|
O servant Nanak, they alone meet the True Guru, with whom He constantly abides. ||1||

Fifth Mehl:
ਮੇਰੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਚਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਕੀ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੋਹਿ ॥
merai antar lochaa milan kee kiau paavaa prabh tohi |
Deep within me is the longing to meet You; how can I find You, God?
ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਸਜਣੁ ਲੋੜਿ ਲਹੁ ਜੋ ਮੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮੋਹਿ ॥
koee aisaa sajan lorr lahu jo mele preetam mohi |
I will search for someone, some friend, who will unite me with my Beloved.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਲਾਇਆ ਜਤ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਤ ਸੋਇ ॥
gur poorai melaaeaa jat dekhaa tat soe |
The Perfect Guru has united me with Him; wherever I look, there He is.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
jan naanak so prabh seviaa tis jevadd avar na koe |2|
Servant Nanak serves that God; there is no other as great as He is. ||2||

ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਕਿਤੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ॥
devanahaar daataar kit mukh saalaaheeai |
He is the Great Giver, the Generous Lord; with what mouth can I praise Him?
ਜਿਸੁ ਰਖੈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਮਾਹੀਐ ॥
jis rakhai kirapaa dhaar rijak samaaheeai |
In His Mercy, He protects, preserves and sustains us.
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਵਸਿ ਸਭਨਾ ਇਕ ਧਰ ॥
koe na kis hee vas sabhanaa ik dhar |
No one is under anyone else's control; He is the One Support of all.
ਪਾਲੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਵਾਗਿ ਦੇ ਕੈ ਆਪਿ ਕਰ ॥
paale baalak vaag de kai aap kar |
He cherishes all as His children, and reaches out with His hand.
ਕਰਦਾ ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥
karadaa anad binod kichhoo na jaaneeai |
He stages His joyous plays, which no one understands at all.
ਸਰਬ ਧਾਰ ਸਮਰਥ ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀਐ ॥
sarab dhaar samarath hau tis kurabaaneeai |
The all-powerful Lord gives His Support to all; I am a sacrifice to Him.
ਗਾਈਐ ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਨੰਤੁ ਗਾਵਣ ਜੋਗਿਆ ॥
gaaeeai raat dinant gaavan jogiaa |
Night and day, sing the Praises of the One who is worthy of being praised.
ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਹਿ ਤਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਭੋਗਿਆ ॥੨॥
jo gur kee pairee paeh tinee har ras bhogiaa |2|
Those who fall at the Guru's Feet, enjoy the sublime essence of the Lord. ||2||

Salok, Fifth Mehl:
ਭੀੜਹੁ ਮੋਕਲਾਈ ਕੀਤੀਅਨੁ ਸਭ ਰਖੇ ਕੁਟੰਬੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
bheerrahu mokalaaee keeteean sabh rakhe kuttanbai naal |
He has widened the narrow path for me, and preserved my integrity, along with that of my family.
ਕਾਰਜ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਅਨੁ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਦਾ ਸਭਾਲਿ ॥
kaaraj aap savaarian so prabh sadaa sabhaal |
He Himself has arranged and resolved my affairs. I dwell upon that God forever.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇਦਾ ਲਹੁੜੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਪਾਲਿ ॥
prabh maat pitaa kantth laaeidaa lahurre baalak paal |
God is my mother and father; He hugs me close in His embrace, and cherishes me, like His tiny baby.
ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਏ ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੧॥
deaal hoe sabh jeea jantr har naanak nadar nihaal |1|
All beings and creatures have become kind and compassionate to me. O Nanak, the Lord has blessed me with His Glance of Grace. ||1||
