ਕਾਢਿ ਭੋਹਰਾ ਤੇ ਪਤਿਹਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥
kaadt bhoharaa te patihi deeno satru dikhaae |
She brought her husband out of the dungeon and revealed to him.
ਬਿਦਾ ਕਿਯੋ ਇਕ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਦੈ ਔ ਪਗਿਯਾ ਬਧਵਾਇ ॥੪੧॥
bidaa kiyo ik asv dai aau pagiyaa badhavaae |41|
She handed over the turban and the horse and bade him goodbye.(41)(1)

ਸਯਾਲਕੋਟ ਕੇ ਦੇਸ ਮੈ ਸਾਲਬਾਹਨਾ ਰਾਵ ॥
sayaalakott ke des mai saalabaahanaa raav |
In the country of Sialkote, there used to live a Raja called Salwan.
ਖਟ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੌ ਮਾਨਈ ਰਾਖਤ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਭਾਵ ॥੧॥
khatt darasan kau maanee raakhat sabh ko bhaav |1|
He believed in six Shastras and loved every body.(1)
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਰਿ ਮਤੀ ਹੁਤੀ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੌ ਨਾਮ ॥
sree triparaar matee hutee taa kee triy kau naam |
Tripari was his wife, who worshipped goddess Bhawani during all
ਭਜੈ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਕੌ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਸੁ ਦਿਨ ਆਠੌ ਜਾਮ ॥੨॥
bhajai bhavaanee kau sadaa nis din aatthau jaam |2|

ਯਹ ਜਬ ਭੇਦ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮੈ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
yeh jab bhed bikramai paayo |
ਅਮਿਤ ਸੈਨ ਲੈ ਕੈ ਚੜਿ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
amit sain lai kai charr dhaayo |
When (Raja) Bikrim learnt about them, he raided with great army.
ਨੈਕੁ ਸਾਲਬਾਹਨ ਨਹਿ ਡਰਿਯੋ ॥
naik saalabaahan neh ddariyo |
ਜੋਰਿ ਸੂਰ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਲਰਿਯੋ ॥੩॥
jor soor sanamukh hvai lariyo |3|
Salwan was not afraid and taking his brave ones faced the enemy.(3)

ਤਬ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
tab taa sau sree chanddikaa aise kahiyo banaae |
Then the goddess Chandika told the Raja,
ਸੈਨ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾ ਕੀ ਰਚੋ ਤੁਮ ਮੈ ਦੇਉ ਜਿਯਾਇ ॥੪॥
sain mritakaa kee racho tum mai deo jiyaae |4|
‘You prepare an army of earthen statues, and I will put life in them.’(4)

ਜੋ ਜਗ ਮਾਤ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੋ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
jo jag maat kahiyo so keeno |
ਸੈਨ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾ ਕੀ ਰਚਿ ਲੀਨੋ ॥
sain mritakaa kee rach leeno |
He acted the way Universal Mother dictated and prepared an earthen army.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਡਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
kripaa drisatt sree chandd nihaare |
ਜਗੇ ਸੂਰ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸੰਭਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
jage soor hathiaar sanbhaare |5|
With the benevolence of Chandika, all those got up, laced with the weapons.(5)

ਮਾਟੀ ਤੇ ਮਰਦ ਊਪਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਬਿਸੇਖ ॥
maattee te marad aoopaje kar kai krudh bisekh |
The soldiers, from the earthen shapes awoke in great fury.
ਹੈ ਗੈ ਰਥ ਪੈਦਲ ਘਨੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੇ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੬॥
hai gai rath paidal ghane nrip utth chale anek |6|
Some became foot-soldiers, and some took Raja’s horses, elephants and chariots.( 6)

ਗਹਿਰੇ ਨਾਦ ਨਗਰ ਮੈ ਬਾਜੇ ॥
gahire naad nagar mai baaje |
ਗਹਿ ਗਹਿ ਗੁਰਜ ਗਰਬਿਯਾ ਗਾਜੇ ॥
geh geh guraj garabiyaa gaaje |
The trumpets blew in the town as the intrepid roared.
ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕ ਭਾਖੈ ਜੋ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ॥
ttook ttook bhaakhai jo hvai hai |
ਬਹੁਰੋ ਫੇਰਿ ਧਾਮ ਨਹਿ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
bahuro fer dhaam neh jai hai |7|
And they shouted out their determination not to retreat.(7)

ਯਹੈ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਪਰੇ ਸੈਨ ਮੈ ਆਇ ॥
yahai mantr kar sooramaa pare sain mai aae |
With this determination they raided the (enemy) army,
ਜੋ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮ ਕੋ ਦਲੁ ਹੁਤੋ ਸੋ ਲੈ ਚਲੇ ਉਠਾਇ ॥੮॥
jo bikram ko dal huto so lai chale utthaae |8|
And they shook the forces of Bikrim.(8)

ghane ghoom jodhaa tisee bhoom joojhe |
ਕਹਾ ਲੌ ਗਨੌ ਮੈ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਬੂਝੇ ॥੯॥
kahaa lau ganau mai nahee jaat boojhe |9|
