ਇਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਬਨ ਮੈ ਹੁਤੋ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਮੈ ਕੁਟੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥

A Yogi lived in the woods in a cottage inside a tree trunk. Through
ਏਕ ਸਾਹ ਕੀ ਸੁਤਾ ਕੋ ਲੈ ਗ︀ਯੋ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
ek saah kee sutaa ko lai gayo mantr chalaae |3|
Some incantation he abducted the daughter of a Shah.(3)

ਕਾਸਿਕਾਰ ਕੋ ਸਾਹਿਕ ਜਨਿਯਤ ॥

ਸਹਜ ਕਲਾ ਤਿਹ ਸੁਤਾ ਬਖਨਿਯਤ ॥
sehaj kalaa tih sutaa bakhaniyat |
The trader was known as Kasikar and name of his daughter was Sehaj Kala.
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਲੈ ਗਯੋ ॥
taa ko har jogee lai gayo |
ਰਾਖਤ ਏਕ ਬਿਰਛ ਮੈ ਭਯੋ ॥੪॥
raakhat ek birachh mai bhayo |4|
The Yogi had taken her away and put her in a tree in the woods.(4)

ਕਰੀ ਕਿਵਾਰੀ ਬਿਰਛ ਕੀ ਖੋਦਿ ਕਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਗ੍ਰੇਹ ॥

In the tree, he had carved a house with a window in it.
ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਵਸ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਭਜੈ ਅਧਿਕ ਬਢਾਇ ਸਨੇਹ ॥੫॥
raat divas taa kau bhajai adhik badtaae saneh |5|
The Yogi made love to her every day and night.(5)
ਮਾਰਿ ਕਿਵਰਿਯਾ ਬਿਰਛ ਕੀ ਆਪਿ ਨਗਰ ਮੈ ਆਇ ॥
maar kivariyaa birachh kee aap nagar mai aae |
Closing the door he used to go to the town during the day to beg,
ਮਾਗਿ ਭਿਛਾ ਨਿਸਿ ਕੇ ਸਮੈ ਰਹਤ ਤਿਸੀ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਜਾਇ ॥੬॥
maag bhichhaa nis ke samai rehat tisee drum jaae |6|
And come back to the tree in the evening.(6)
ਜਾਇ ਤਹਾ ਆਪਨ ਕਰੈ ਹਾਥਨ ਕੋ ਤਤਕਾਰ ॥
jaae tahaa aapan karai haathan ko tatakaar |
On his return he always clapped his hands and the girl,
ਸੁਨਤ ਸਬਦ ਤਾਕੀ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਛੋਰਤ ਕਰਨ ਕਿਵਾਰ ॥੭॥
sunat sabad taakee tarun chhorat karan kivaar |7|
Hearing the sound, opened the door with her own hands.(7)

ਐਸੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਨਿਤ︀ਯ ਜਡ ਕਰੈ ॥

madhur madhur dhun bain ucharai |
Every day he acted like this and (to pass time) played the sweet music on the flute.
ਰਾਜ ਕਲਾ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਸਭ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
raaj kalaa binasee sabh gaavai |
ਸਹਜ ਕਲਾ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਨ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥੮॥
sehaj kalaa binasee na sunaavai |8|
Although he displayed all his Yogic feats, Sehaj Kala never commented.(8)

ਤਿਹੀ ਨਗਰ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਚਤੁਰ ਹੁਤੋ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਇਕ ਭੂਪ ॥

In the city there lived the clever son of the Raja.
ਬਲ ਗੁਨ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਮ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਾਮ ਸਰੂਪ ॥੯॥
bal gun bikram indr sam sundar kaam saroop |9|
He was endowed with virtues and power like Indra, and the passion of Cupid.(9)
ਸੁਰੀ ਆਸੁਰੀ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਰਨੀ ਗੰਧਰਬੀ ਕਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

Wives of the deities, demons, celestial musicians, Hindus, and
ਹਿੰਦੁਨੀ ਤੁਰਕਾਨੀ ਸਭੈ ਹੇਰਿ ਰੂਪ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧੦॥
hindunee turakaanee sabhai her roop bal jaeh |10|
Muslims, all those were entranced with his splendour and charm.(10)

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪਾਛੇ ਧਾਯੋ ॥

ਤਿਨ ਜੁਗਯਹਿ ਕਛੁ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
tin jugayeh kachh bhed na paayo |
Without letting him know, the Raja’s son followed the Yogi.
ਜਬ ਵਹ ਜਾਇ ਬਿਰਛ ਮੈ ਬਰਿਯੋ ॥
jab veh jaae birachh mai bariyo |
ਤਬ ਛਿਤ ਪਤਿ ਸੁਤ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਪਰ ਚਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੧॥
tab chhit pat sut drum par chariyo |11|
When the Yogi had entered the tree, the Raja’s son climbed the tree.(11)
ਭਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਜੋਗੀ ਪੁਰ ਆਯੋ ॥
bhayo praat jogee pur aayo |
ਉਤਰਿ ਭੂਪ ਸੁਤ ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਯੋ ॥
autar bhoop sut taal bajaayo |
Next morning when the Yogi went to the town, the Raja’s son came down and clapped his hands.
ਛੋਰਿ ਕਿਵਾਰ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
chhor kivaar kuar tin deeno |
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਕੁਅਰ ਭੋਗ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੧੨॥
taa sau kuar bhog drirr keeno |12|
And, then, daringly, the prince made love with her.(l2)

ਲੇਹਜ ਪੇਹਜ ਭਛ ਸੁਭ ਭੋਜਨ ਭਲੋ ਖਵਾਇ ॥
lehaj pehaj bhachh subh bhojan bhalo khavaae |
He served her many savoury viands.
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨਤ ਭਯੋ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਖ ਉਪਜਾਇ ॥੧੩॥
taa sau rat maanat bhayo hridai harakh upajaae |13|
He was very much delighted and again made love with her.(13)
ਤਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਜੋ ਚਿਤ ਹੁਤੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਲਿਯੋ ਚੁਰਾਇ ॥
taa triy ko jo chit huto nrip sut liyo churaae |
The Prince captured her heart immensely.
ਤਾ ਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਤਿਹ ਜੋਗਿਯਹਿ ਚਿਤ ਤੇ ਦਿਯੋ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥੧੪॥
taa din te tih jogiyeh chit te diyo bhulaae |14|
From then on the lady disregarded the Yogi.(l4)

ਭਲੋ ਹੇਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬੁਰੌ ਨ ਕਬਹੁ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੈ ॥
bhalo her kar burau na kabahu nihaariyai |
When something propitious is available, the adverse one is ignored,
ਚਤੁਰ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਕੋ ਪਾਇ ਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਚਿਤਾਰਿਯੈ ॥
chatur purakh ko paae na moorakh chitaariyai |
And is not cared for by the wise-ones.
ਧਨੀ ਚਤੁਰ ਅਰੁ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਜੋ ਪਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
dhanee chatur ar tarun tarun jo paae hai |
Why would a woman, getting a wealthy and wise young man, go to
ਹੋ ਬਿਰਧ ਕੁਰੂਪ ਨਿਧਨ ਜੜ ਪੈ ਕਿਯੋ ਜਾਇ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥
ho biradh kuroop nidhan jarr pai kiyo jaae hai |15|
A simpleton, poor and unwise old man,(15)

ਸਾਹ ਸੁਤਾ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੰਗ ਚਲਹੁ ਲੈ ਮੋਹਿ ॥

The Shah’s daughter requested the prince to take her with him,
ਭੋਗ ਕਰੋਗੀ ਜੋਗ ਤਜਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਿਝੈਹੋ ਤੋਹਿ ॥੧੬॥
bhog karogee jog taj adhik rijhaiho tohi |16|
‘I will abandon the Yogi and make passionate love with you.’(16)

ਤਬ ਮੈ ਚਲੌ ਸੰਗ ਲੈ ਤੋ ਕੌ ॥

jugayeh bol maan hit mo kau |
(Said the prince,) ‘Yes, I will take you with me if you call the Yogi for me,
ਆਖਿ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਦੋਊ ਬੀਨ ਬਜੈਯੈ ॥
aakh moond doaoo been bajaiyai |
ਮੋਰੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤਾਲਿ ਦਿਵੈਯੈ ॥੧੭॥

‘Who will play love-tunes with his both the eyes shut and resonantly clapping his hands.’(17)
ਆਖਿ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਦੋਊ ਬੀਨ ਬਜਾਈ ॥
aakh moond doaoo been bajaaee |
ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਘਾਤ ਭਲੀ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
tih triy ghaat bhalee lakh paaee |
(As planned) The women found an auspicious moment, when the
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥
nrip sut ke sang bhog kamaayo |
ਚੋਟ ਚਟਾਕਨ ਤਾਲ ਦਿਵਾਯੋ ॥੧੮॥
chott chattaakan taal divaayo |18|
Yogi kept his eyes shut and played the love-tunes while she made love with the son of the Raja.(18)

ਅਤਿ ਰਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਲਿਯੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਹੈ ਕਰਿ ਸ੍ਵਾਰ ॥

The prince, at the end, closed the door behind in the tree.
ਨਗਰ ਸਾਲ ਪੁਰ ਕੋ ਗਯੋ ਬਿਰਛ ਕਿਵਰਿਯਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ॥੧੯॥
nagar saal pur ko gayo birachh kivariyeh maar |19|
Taking the lady with him, he mounted the horse, and left for the city.(19)

The Raja had put the son in the prison.
ਭੋਰ ਹੋਤ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਹਿਤ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਲਿਯੌ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
bhor hot mantree sahit bahuro liyau bulaae |1|
And early next morning he called him over.(l)
ਪੁਨਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਐਸੇ ਕਹੀ ਏਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ॥
pun mantree aise kahee ek triyaa kee baat |
The Minister, then, narrated to him the story of a woman.
ਸੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਰੀਝਤ ਭਯੋ ਕਹੋ ਕਹੋ ਮੁਹਿ ਤਾਤ ॥੨॥
so sun nrip reejhat bhayo kaho kaho muhi taat |2|
Hearing the story, the Raja was enthralled, and requested it to be retold.(2)
ਏਕ ਬਧੂ ਥੀ ਜਾਟ ਕੀ ਦੂਜੇ ਬਰੀ ਗਵਾਰ ॥
ek badhoo thee jaatt kee dooje baree gavaar |
A peasant had a (pretty) wife she was trammelled by that idiotic.
ਖੇਲਿ ਅਖੇਟਕ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਇਕ ਆਨਿ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਯਾਰ ॥੩॥
khel akhettak nripat ik aan bhayo tih yaar |3|
But a Raja on a hunting spree fell in love with her.(3)

ਲੰਗ ਚਲਾਲਾ ਕੋ ਇਕ ਰਾਇ ਬਖਾਨਿਯੈ ॥
lang chalaalaa ko ik raae bakhaaniyai |
He was the brave ruler of the city of Lang Chalala
ਮਧੁਕਰ ਸਾਹ ਸੁ ਬੀਰ ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਜਾਨਿਯੈ ॥
madhukar saah su beer jagat mai jaaniyai |
And was known as Madhukar Shah.
ਮਾਲ ਮਤੀ ਜਟਿਯਾ ਸੌ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾਇਯੋ ॥
maal matee jattiyaa sau nehu lagaaeiyo |
He had fallen in love with the peasant girl called Maal Mati.
ਹੋ ਖੇਲਿ ਅਖੇਟਕ ਭਵਨ ਤਵਨ ਕੇ ਆਇਯੋ ॥੪॥
ho khel akhettak bhavan tavan ke aaeiyo |4|
In the pursuit of hunting, he came to her house.( 4)
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਜਿਨਿ ਤੂ ਬੰਧਿ ਕਰਿ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੁਖ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jin too bandh kar chhoddiaa fun sukh meh paaeaa |
The One who bound you in the womb and then released you, placed you in the world of joy.
ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਸੀਤਲ ਹੋਤਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
sadaa simar charanaarabind seetal hotaaeaa |1|
Contemplate His Lotus Feet forever, and you shall be cooled and soothed. ||1||
ਜੀਵਤਿਆ ਅਥਵਾ ਮੁਇਆ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
jeevatiaa athavaa mueaa kichh kaam na aavai |
In life and in death, this Maya is of no use.
ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹੁ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ਕੋਊ ਤਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jin ehu rachan rachaaeaa koaoo tis siau rang laavai |1| rahaau |
He created this creation, but rare are those who enshrine love for Him. ||1||Pause||
ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਉਸਨ ਸੀਤ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੈ ਘਾਮ ਤੇ ਕਾਢੈ ॥
re praanee usan seet karataa karai ghaam te kaadtai |
O mortal, the Creator Lord made summer and winter; He saves you from the heat.
ਕੀਰੀ ਤੇ ਹਸਤੀ ਕਰੈ ਟੂਟਾ ਲੇ ਗਾਢੈ ॥੨॥
keeree te hasatee karai ttoottaa le gaadtai |2|
From the ant, He makes an elephant; He reunites those who have been separated. ||2||
ਅੰਡਜ ਜੇਰਜ ਸੇਤਜ ਉਤਭੁਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਕਿਰਤਿ ॥
anddaj jeraj setaj utabhujaa prabh kee ih kirat |
Eggs, wombs, sweat and earth - these are God's workshops of creation.
ਕਿਰਤ ਕਮਾਵਨ ਸਰਬ ਫਲ ਰਵੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਤਿ ॥੩॥
kirat kamaavan sarab fal raveeai har nirat |3|
It is fruitful for all to practice contemplation of the Lord. ||3||
ਹਮ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਧ ॥
ham te kachhoo na hovanaa saran prabh saadh |
I cannot do anything; O God, I seek the Sanctuary of the Holy.
ਮੋਹ ਮਗਨ ਕੂਪ ਅੰਧ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਢ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੬੦॥
moh magan koop andh te naanak gur kaadt |4|30|60|
Guru Nanak pulled me up, out of the deep, dark pit, the intoxication of attachment. ||4||30||60||

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਮੈ ਫਿਰਾ ਖੋਜਉ ਬਨ ਥਾਨ ॥

Searching, searching, I wander around searching, in the woods and other places.
ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਐਸੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧॥
achhal achhed abhed prabh aise bhagavaan |1|
He is undeceivable, imperishable, inscrutable; such is my Lord God. ||1||
ਕਬ ਦੇਖਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਆਤਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
kab dekhau prabh aapanaa aatam kai rang |
When shall I behold my God, and delight my soul?
ਜਾਗਨ ਤੇ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਭਲਾ ਬਸੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaagan te supanaa bhalaa baseeai prabh sang |1| rahaau |
Even better than being awake, is the dream in which I dwell with God. ||1||Pause||
ਬਰਨ ਆਸ੍ਰਮ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਨਉ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
baran aasram saasatr sunau darasan kee piaas |
Listening to the Shaastras teaching about the four social classes and the four stages of life, I grow thirsty for the Blessed Vision of the Lord.
ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖ ਨ ਪੰਚ ਤਤ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ ॥੨॥
roop na rekh na panch tat tthaakur abinaas |2|
He has no form or outline, and He is not made of the five elements; our Lord and Master is imperishable. ||2||
ਓਹੁ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਹਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਜੋਗੀਸੁਰ ॥
ohu saroop santan kaheh virale jogeesur |
How rare are those Saints and great Yogis, who describe the beautiful form of the Lord.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੇ ਧਨਿ ਧਨਿ ਤੇ ਈਸੁਰ ॥੩॥
kar kirapaa jaa kau mile dhan dhan te eesur |3|
Blessed, blessed are they, whom the Lord meets in His Mercy. ||3||
ਸੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਬਾਹਰੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਤਹ ਭਰਮਾ ॥
so antar so baahare binase teh bharamaa |
They know that He is deep within, and outside as well; their doubts are dispelled.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਮਾ ॥੪॥੩੧॥੬੧॥
naanak tis prabh bhettiaa jaa ke pooran karamaa |4|31|61|
O Nanak, God meets those, whose karma is perfect. ||4||31||61||

jeea jant suprasan bhe dekh prabh parataap |
All beings and creatures are totally pleased, gazing on God's glorious radiance.
ਕਰਜੁ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਿ ਆਹਰੁ ਆਪ ॥੧॥
karaj utaariaa satiguroo kar aahar aap |1|
The True Guru has paid off my debt; He Himself did it. ||1||
ਖਾਤ ਖਰਚਤ ਨਿਬਹਤ ਰਹੈ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੁ ਅਖੂਟ ॥
khaat kharachat nibahat rahai gurasabad akhoott |
Eating and expending it, it is always available; the Word of the Guru's Shabad is inexhaustible.
ਪੂਰਨ ਭਈ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਕਬਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਤੂਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pooran bhee samagaree kabahoo nahee toott |1| rahaau |
Everything is perfectly arranged; it is never exhausted. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਆਪਾਰ ॥
saadhasang aaraadhanaa har nidh aapaar |
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I worship and adore the Lord, the infinite treasure.
ਧਰਮ ਅਰਥ ਅਰੁ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਖ ਦੇਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਬਾਰ ॥੨॥
dharam arath ar kaam mokh dete nahee baar |2|
He does not hesitate to bless me with Dharmic faith, wealth, fulfilment of desires and liberation. ||2||
ਭਗਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਏਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
bhagat araadheh ek rang gobind gupaal |
The devotees worship and adore the Lord of the Universe with single-minded love.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
raam naam dhan sanchiaa jaa kaa nahee sumaar |3|
They gather in the wealth of the Lord's Name, which cannot be estimated. ||3||
ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
saran pare prabh tereea prabh kee vaddiaaee |
O God, I seek Your Sanctuary, the glorious greatness of God. Nanak:
ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥੪॥੩੨॥੬੨॥
naanak ant na paaeeai beant gusaaee |4|32|62|
Your end or limitation cannot be found, O Infinite World-Lord. ||4||32||62||

simar simar pooran prabhoo kaaraj bhe raas |
Meditate, meditate in remembrance of the Perfect Lord God, and your affairs shall be perfectly resolved.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਪੁਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਵਸੈ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

In Kartaarpur, the City of the Creator Lord, the Saints dwell with the Creator. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਲਾਗਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
bighan na koaoo laagataa gur peh aradaas |
No obstacles will block your way, when you offer your prayers to the Guru.
ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰਾਇ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
rakhavaalaa gobind raae bhagatan kee raas |1|
The Sovereign Lord of the Universe is the Saving Grace, the Protector of the capital of His devotees. ||1||
ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਦੇ ਮੂਲਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
tott na aavai kade mool pooran bhanddaar |
There is never any deficiency at all; the Lord's treasures are over-flowing.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਬਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੨॥
charan kamal man tan base prabh agam apaar |2|
His Lotus Feet are enshrined within my mind and body; God is inaccessible and infinite. ||2||
ਬਸਤ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਊਨ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ॥
basat kamaavat sabh sukhee kichh aoon na deesai |
All those who work for Him dwell in peace; you can see that they lack nothing.
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭੇਟੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਗਦੀਸੈ ॥੩॥
sant prasaad bhette prabhoo pooran jagadeesai |3|
By the Grace of the Saints, I have met God, the Perfect Lord of the Universe. ||3||
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਸਭੈ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥
jai jai kaar sabhai kareh sach thaan suhaaeaa |
Everyone congratulates me, and celebrates my victory; the home of the True Lord is so beautiful!
ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੬੩॥
jap naanak naam nidhaan sukh pooraa gur paaeaa |4|33|63|
Nanak chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the treasure of peace; I have found the Perfect Guru. ||4||33||63||
