ਸ੍ਵਾਮਿਘਾਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਤਘਨਤਾ ਦੋਊ ਬੀਰ ਹੈ ਦੁਰ ਧਰਖ ॥
svaamighaat kritaghanataa doaoo beer hai dur dharakh |
ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਸੂਰਨ ਕੇ ਸੰਘਾਰਕ ਸੈਨ ਕੇ ਭਰਤਰਖ ॥

Vishwasghaat (deception) and Akritghanta (Ungratefulness) are also two horrible warriors, who are the killers of the brave enemies and the army
ਕਉਨ ਦੋ ਥਨ ਸੋ ਜਨਾ ਜੁ ਨ ਮਾਨਿ ਹੈ ਤਿਹੰ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥
kaun do than so janaa ju na maan hai tihan traas |
Who is such a special individual, who does not fear them
ਰੂਪ ਅਨੂਪ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਕੈ ਭਟ ਭਜੈ ਹੋਇ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੨੧੪॥

Seeing their unique form, the warriors, getting dejected, run away.214.
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਦੋਖ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਜ ਦੋਖ ਸੁ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ॥

Mittar-dosh (blaming of friend) and Raaj-dosh (blaming of the administration), both are brothers
ਏਕ ਬੰਸ ਦੁਹੂੰਨ ਕੋ ਅਰ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਮਾਤ ॥

Both belong to the same family, both gave the same mother
ਛਤ੍ਰਿ ਧਰਮ ਧਰੇ ਹਠੀ ਰਣ ਧਾਇ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਓਰ ॥

Adopting the Kshatriya discipline, when these warriors will go for war,

Then which warrior will be able to keep patience before them?215.
ਈਰਖਾ ਅਰੁ ਉਚਾਟ ਏ ਦੋਊ ਜੰਗ ਜੋਧਾ ਸੂਰ ॥
eerakhaa ar uchaatt e doaoo jang jodhaa soor |
Irsha (jealousy) and Ucchatan (indifference), both of them are warriors
ਭਾਜਿ ਹੈ ਅਵਿਲੋਕ ਕੈ ਅਰੁ ਰੀਝਿ ਹੈ ਲਖਿ ਹੂਰ ॥
bhaaj hai avilok kai ar reejh hai lakh hoor |
They are pleased on seeing the heavenly damsels and flee
ਕਉਨ ਧੀਰ ਧਰੈ ਭਟਾਬਰ ਜੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਸਬ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ॥
kaun dheer dharai bhattaabar jeet hai sab satru |
They conquer all enemies and no fighter stays in front of them
ਦੰਤ ਲੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਭਾਜਿ ਹੈ ਭਟ ਕੋ ਨ ਗਹਿ ਹੈ ਅਤ੍ਰ ॥੨੧੬॥
dant lai trin bhaaj hai bhatt ko na geh hai atr |216|
No one can use his weapons in front of them and the warriors pressing straws within their teeth, run away.216.
ਘਾਤ ਅਉਰ ਬਸੀਕਰਣ ਬਡ ਬੀਰ ਧੀਰ ਅਪਾਰ ॥

Ghaat (ambush) and Vashikaran (control) are also great warriors
ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਕਰਮ ਕੁਠਾਰ ਪਾਣਿ ਕਰਾਲ ਦਾੜ ਬਰਿਆਰ ॥
kraoor karam kutthaar paan karaal daarr bariaar |
Their actions hard-hearted they have axed in their hands and their teeth are terrible
ਬਿਜ ਤੇਜ ਅਛਿਜ ਗਾਤਿ ਅਭਿਜ ਰੂਪ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥
bij tej achhij gaat abhij roop durant |
Their brilliance is like lightning, their body is imperishable and their figures are horrible
ਕਉਨ ਕਉਨ ਨ ਜੀਤਿਏ ਜਿਨਿ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਮਹੰਤ ॥੨੧੭॥
kaun kaun na jeetie jin jeev jant mahant |217|
Which being or which great creature they have not conquered?217.
ਆਪਦਾ ਅਰੁ ਝੂਠਤਾ ਅਰੁ ਬੀਰ ਬੰਸ ਕੁਠਾਰ ॥

Vipda (adversity) and Jhooth (falsehood) are like the axe for the warrior clan
ਪਰਮ ਰੂਪ ਦੁਰ ਧਰਖ ਗਾਤ ਅਮਰਖ ਤੇਜ ਅਪਾਰ ॥

They are pretty in form, sturdy in body and have infinite brilliance
ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗਨਿ ਨੰਗ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਨ ਅੰਗ ਬਲਕੁਲ ਪਾਤ ॥

They are long in stature, without clothes and have powerful limbs
ਦੁਸਟ ਰੂਪ ਦਰਿਦ੍ਰ ਧਾਮ ਸੁ ਬਾਣ ਸਾਧੇ ਸਾਤ ॥੨੧੮॥
dusatt roop daridr dhaam su baan saadhe saat |218|
They are tyrannical and lethargic and are ever ready to discharge their arrows from the seven sides.218.
ਬਿਯੋਗ ਅਉਰ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਨਾਮ ਸੁ ਧਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਬ ਕੋਪ ॥

When the warriors named Viyog (separation) and Apradh (guilt) will get infuriated, then who be able to stay before them ? All run away
ਸੂਲ ਸੈਥਨ ਪਾਨਿ ਬਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਹੈ ਤਵ ਸੂਰ ॥

ਭਾਜਿ ਹੈ ਤਜਿ ਲਾਜ ਕੋ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਸਬ ਕੂਰ ॥੨੧੯॥
bhaaj hai taj laaj ko bisanbhaar hvai sab koor |219|
Your warriors will hold their spikes, arrows, lances etc., but before these cruel persons they will get ashamed and run away.219.
ਭਾਨੁ ਕੀ ਸਰ ਭੇਦ ਜਾ ਦਿਨ ਤਪਿ ਹੈ ਰਣ ਸੂਰ ॥
bhaan kee sar bhed jaa din tap hai ran soor |
Like the blazing sun, when the war will be fought in full fury, then which warrior will keep patience?

All of them will flee like a dog

All of them will run away leaving their arms, weapons and

kaatt kaatt sanaah tav bhatt bhaaj hai bisanbhaar |220|
Horses and your warriors breaking their armour will flee immediately.220.

Blessed, blessed is the good fortune of those who meet the Holy Guru; meeting with the Holy, they lovingly center themselves in the state of absolute absorption.
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਬਾ ॥੨॥
trisanaa agan bujhee saant paaee har niramal niramal gun gaaeibaa |2|
The fire of desire within them is quenched, and they find peace; they sing the Glorious Praises of the Immaculate Lord. ||2||
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਭਾਗ ਖੀਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਰਸੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਬਾ ॥

Those who do not obtain the Blessed Vision of the True Guru's Darshan, have misfortune pre-ordained for them.
ਤੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਵਹਿ ਗ੍ਰਭ ਜੋਨੀ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਨ ਜਾਇਬਾ ॥੩॥
te doojai bhaae paveh grabh jonee sabh birathaa janam tin jaaeibaa |3|
In the love of duality, they are consigned to reincarnation through the womb, and they pass their lives totally uselessly. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਬਿਮਲ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਸੇਵਹ ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਇਬਾ ॥
har dehu bimal mat gur saadh pag sevah ham har meetth lagaaeibaa |
O Lord, please, bless me with pure understanding, that I may serve the Feet of the Holy Guru; the Lord seems sweet to me.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਰੇਣ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਮਾਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਬਾ ॥੪॥੪॥
jan naanak ren saadh pag maagai har hoe deaal divaaeibaa |4|4|
Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of the Holy; O Lord, be Merciful, and bless me with it. ||4||4||

ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਬਸਿਓ ਤਿਨ ਮਾਤ ਕੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਂਝਾ ॥
jin har hiradai naam na basio tin maat keejai har baanjhaa |
The Lord's Name does not abide within their hearts - their mothers should have been sterile.
ਤਿਨ ਸੁੰਞੀ ਦੇਹ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਓਇ ਖਪਿ ਖਪਿ ਮੁਏ ਕਰਾਂਝਾ ॥੧॥
tin sunyee deh fireh bin naavai oe khap khap mue karaanjhaa |1|
These bodies wander around, forlorn and abandoned, without the Name; their lives waste away, and they die, crying out in pain. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਝਾ ॥
mere man jap raam naam har maajhaa |
O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, the Lord within you.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਮਨੁ ਸਮਝਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har kripaal kripaa prabh dhaaree gur giaan deeo man samajhaa | rahaau |
The Merciful Lord God, Har, Har, has showered me with His Mercy; the Guru has imparted spiritual wisdom to me, and my mind has been instructed. ||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਪਦੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਾਝਾ ॥
har keerat kalajug pad aootam har paaeeai satigur maajhaa |
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praise brings the most noble and exalted status; the Lord is found through the True Guru.
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਝਾ ॥੨॥
hau balihaaree satigur apune jin gupat naam paragaajhaa |2|
I am a sacrifice to my True Guru, who has revealed the Lord's hidden Name to me. ||2||
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗਏ ਗਵਾਝਾ ॥
darasan saadh milio vaddabhaagee sabh kilabikh ge gavaajhaa |
By great good fortune, I obtained the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy; it removes all stains of sin.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡ ਦਾਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਬਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਝਾ ॥੩॥
satigur saahu paaeaa vadd daanaa har kee bahu gun saajhaa |3|
I have found the True Guru, the great, all-knowing King; He has shared with me the many Glorious Virtues of the Lord. ||3||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਗਜੀਵਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਮਨ ਮਾਝਾ ॥
jin kau kripaa karee jagajeevan har ur dhaario man maajhaa |
Those, unto whom the Lord, the Life of the world, has shown Mercy, enshrine Him within their hearts, and cherish Him in their minds.
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਦਰਿ ਕਾਗਦ ਫਾਰੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਲੇਖਾ ਸਮਝਾ ॥੪॥੫॥
dharam raae dar kaagad faare jan naanak lekhaa samajhaa |4|5|
The Righteous Judge of Dharma, in the Court of the Lord, has torn up my papers; servant Nanak's account has been settled. ||4||5||
