ਮਾਨ ਭਰੇ ਸਰ ਸਾਨ ਧਰੇ ਮਠ ਸਾਨ ਚੜੇ ਅਸਿ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤਿ ਸਾਏ ॥
maan bhare sar saan dhare matth saan charre as sronat saae |
He was glorious like the sword saturated with marrow
ਲੇਤ ਹਰੇ ਜਿਹ ਡੀਠ ਪਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥
let hare jih ddeetth pare nahee fer fire grih jaan na paae |
Whomsoever he saw, he could not go back to his home
ਝੀਮ ਝਰੇ ਜਨ ਸੇਲ ਹਰੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਜਨੁ ਦੇਖਨ ਆਏ ॥
jheem jhare jan sel hare ih bhaat gire jan dekhan aae |
He, who came to see him he fell down swinging on the earth, whomsoever he saw, he was inflicted with the arrows of the god of love,
ਜਾਸੁ ਹਿਰੇ ਸੋਊ ਮੈਨ ਘਿਰੇ ਗਿਰ ਭੂਮਿ ਪਰੇ ਨ ਉਠੰਤ ਉਠਾਏ ॥੧੫॥
jaas hire soaoo main ghire gir bhoom pare na utthant utthaae |15|
He fell down there and writhed and could not get up to go.1.15.
ਸੋਭਤ ਜਾਨੁ ਸੁਧਾਸਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਾਮ ਕੇ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਕੂਪ ਸੁ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
sobhat jaan sudhaasar sundar kaam ke maanahu koop su dhaare |
It seemed that the store of lust had been opened and Parasnath looked splendid like the moon
ਲਾਜਿ ਕੇ ਜਾਨ ਜਹਾਜ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਹੇਰਤ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਲੇਤ ਹਕਾਰੇ ॥
laaj ke jaan jahaaj biraajat herat hee har let hakaare |
Even if there were ships stored with shyness and he allured everyone only on seeing
ਹਉ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਟ ਭ੍ਰਮ︀ਯੋ ਖਗ ਜ︀ਯੋਂ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਸਮ ਰੂਪ ਨ ਨੈਕੁ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
hau chahu kuntt bhramayo khag jayon in ke sam roop na naik nihaare |
In all the four directions, the persons like wandering birds were saying this that they had seen none so beautiful like him
ਪਾਰਥ ਬਾਨ ਕਿ ਜੁਬਨ ਖਾਨ ਕਿ ਕਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕਿ ਕਾਮ ਕਟਾਰੇ ॥੧੬॥
paarath baan ki juban khaan ki kaal kripaan ki kaam kattaare |16|
He is a killer like Arjuna’s arrow, he is a mine of youth he controls all like the sward of youth KAL and is the dagger of lust.2
ਤੰਤ੍ਰ ਭਰੇ ਕਿਧੌ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਜਰੇ ਅਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਹਰੇ ਚਖ ਚੀਨਤ ਯਾ ਤੇ ॥
tantr bhare kidhau jantr jare ar mantr hare chakh cheenat yaa te |
On seeing him, the impact of tantra, mantra and yantra ends
ਜੋਬਨ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗੇ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗੇ ਮਦ ਸੇ ਮਦੂਆ ਤੇ ॥
joban jot jage at sundar rang range mad se madooaa te |
His eyes, glistening with the light of youth appear to be extremely pretty and intoxicated
ਰੰਗ ਸਹਾਬ ਫੂਲ ਗੁਲਾਬ ਸੇ ਸੀਖੇ ਹੈ ਜੋਰਿ ਕਰੋਰਕ ਘਾਤੇ ॥
rang sahaab fool gulaab se seekhe hai jor karorak ghaate |
His eyes can kill crores of people like the roses and
ਮਾਧੁਰੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੂਰਤਿ ਹੇਰਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਲੇਤ ਹੀਯਾ ਤੇ ॥੧੭॥
maadhuree moorat sundar soorat herat hee har let heeyaa te |17|
Seeing his comely figure, the mind gets fascinated on seeing him.3.17.
ਪਾਨ ਚਬਾਇ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਬਨਾਇ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਲਗਾਇ ਸਭਾ ਜਬ ਆਵੈ ॥
paan chabaae seegaar banaae sugandh lagaae sabhaa jab aavai |
ਕਿੰਨਰ ਜਛ ਭੁਜੰਗ ਚਰਾਚਰ ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਦੋਊ ਬਿਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
kinar jachh bhujang charaachar dev adev doaoo bisamaavai |
When he went to the court on chewing the betel and fragrancing the body then all the Kinnars, Yakshas, Nagas, animate and inanimate beings, gods and demons were wonder-struck
ਮੋਹਿਤ ਜੇ ਮਹਿ ਲੋਗਨ ਮਾਨਨਿ ਮੋਹਤ ਤਉਨ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
mohit je meh logan maanan mohat taun mahaa sukh paavai |
The human males and females were pleased on getting fascinated by him
ਵਾਰਹਿ ਹੀਰ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਚੀਰ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਬਿਨ ਧੀਰ ਸਬੈ ਬਲ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧੮॥
vaareh heer amolak cheer treeyaa bin dheer sabai bal jaavai |18|
They sacrificed their presious garments, diamonds and jewels on him impatiently.4.18.
ਰੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ਪੜੇ ਦਸ ਚਾਰ ਮਨੋ ਅਸੁਰਾਰਿ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਕ ਜਾਨ︀ਯੋ ॥
roop apaar parre das chaar mano asuraar chatur chak jaanayo |
Indra also marveled at Parasnath, the most beautiful person and expert in all the fourteen science
ਆਹਵ ਜੁਕਤਿ ਜਿਤੀਕ ਹੁਤੀ ਜਗ ਸਰਬਨ ਮੈ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ੍ਰਯੋ ॥
aahav jukat jiteek hutee jag saraban mai sab hee anumaanrayo |
He knew all the arts of warfare,
ਦੇਸਿ ਬਿਦੇਸਨ ਜੀਤ ਜੁਧਾਬਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਚੰਦੋਵ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਤਾਨ੍ਰਯੋ ॥
des bidesan jeet judhaabar krit chandov daso dis taanrayo |
And after conquering all the countries far and near, he flag of victory waved in all the ten directions
ਦੇਵਨ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਗੋਪੀਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਿਸਾ ਕਰਿ ਚੰਦ ਸਮਾਨ ਪਛਾਨ︀ਯੋ ॥੧੯॥
devan indr gopeen gobind nisaa kar chand samaan pachhaanayo |19|
The gods comprehended him as Indra, the gopis as Krishna and the night as the moon.5.19.
ਚਉਧਿਤ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਸਾ ਭਈ ਚਕ੍ਰਤ ਭੂਮਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਾ ॥
chaudhit chaar disaa bhee chakrat bhoom akaas duhoon pahichaanaa |
Illumined like the full moon, Parasnath caused all the four directions wonder about him
ਜੁਧ ਸਮਾਨ ਲਖ︀ਯੋ ਜਗ ਜੋਧਨ ਬੋਧਨ ਬੋਧ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੁਮਾਨਾ ॥
judh samaan lakhayo jag jodhan bodhan bodh mahaa anumaanaa |
He became famous everywhere on the earth and in the sky the warriors recognized him as a warrior and the learned as learned
ਸੂਰ ਸਮਾਨ ਲਖਾ ਦਿਨ ਕੈ ਤਿਹ ਚੰਦ ਸਰੂਪ ਨਿਸਾ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਾ ॥
soor samaan lakhaa din kai tih chand saroop nisaa pahichaanaa |
The day considered him as the sun and the night as the moon
ਰਾਨਨਿ ਰਾਵਿ ਸਵਾਨਿਨ ਸਾਵ ਭਵਾਨਿਨ ਭਾਵ ਭਲੋ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨਾ ॥੨੦॥
raanan raav savaanin saav bhavaanin bhaav bhalo man maanaa |20|
The queens considered him as the king, other women as the husband and the goddess as love.6.20.

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਭੇਟੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ॥
firat firat bhette jan saadhoo poorai gur samajhaaeaa |
Wandering and roaming around, I met the Holy Perfect Guru, who has taught me.
ਆਨ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਾਂਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੧॥
aan sagal bidh kaam na aavai har har naam dhiaaeaa |1|
All other devices did not work, so I meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਓਟ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
taa te mohi dhaaree ott gopaal |
For this reason, I sought the Protection and Support of my Lord, the Cherisher of the Universe.
ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਗਲ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saran pario pooran paramesur binase sagal janjaal | rahaau |
I sought the Sanctuary of the Perfect Transcendent Lord, and all my entanglements were dissolved. ||Pause||
ਸੁਰਗ ਮਿਰਤ ਪਇਆਲ ਭੂ ਮੰਡਲ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਪੇ ਮਾਇ ॥
surag mirat peaal bhoo manddal sagal biaape maae |
Paradise, the earth, the nether regions of the underworld, and the globe of the world - all are engrossed in Maya.
ਜੀਅ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਸਭ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੨॥
jeea udhaaran sabh kul taaran har har naam dhiaae |2|
To save your soul, and liberate all your ancestors, meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
naanak naam niranjan gaaeeai paaeeai sarab nidhaanaa |
O Nanak, singing the Naam, the Name of the Immaculate Lord, all treasures are obtained.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਿਰਲੇ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੩॥੩॥੨੧॥
kar kirapaa jis dee suaamee birale kaahoo jaanaa |3|3|21|
Only that rare person, whom the Lord and Master blesses with His Grace, comes to know this. ||3||3||21||
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੨ ਚਉਪਦੇ ॥
dhanaasaree mahalaa 5 ghar 2 chaupade |
Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl, Second House, Chau-Padhay:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik oankaar satigur prasaad |
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਸੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਰਾਲ ॥
chhodd jaeh se kareh paraal |
You shall have to abandon the straw which you have collected.
ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
kaam na aaveh se janjaal |
These entanglements shall be of no use to you.
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਹੀਤ ॥
sang na chaaleh tin siau heet |
You are in love with those things that will not go with you.
ਜੋ ਬੈਰਾਈ ਸੇਈ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥
jo bairaaee seee meet |1|
You think that your enemies are friends. ||1||
ਐਸੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
aise bharam bhule sansaaraa |
In such confusion, the world has gone astray.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਖੋਇ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janam padaarath khoe gavaaraa | rahaau |
The foolish mortal wastes this precious human life. ||Pause||
ਸਾਚੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਭਾਵੈ ਡੀਠਾ ॥
saach dharam nahee bhaavai ddeetthaa |
He does not like to see Truth and righteousness.
ਝੂਠ ਧੋਹ ਸਿਉ ਰਚਿਓ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
jhootth dhoh siau rachio meetthaa |
He is attached to falsehood and deception; they seem sweet to him.
ਦਾਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ॥
daat piaaree visariaa daataaraa |
He loves gifts, but he forgets the Giver.
ਜਾਣੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਰਣੁ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
jaanai naahee maran vichaaraa |2|
The wretched creature does not even think of death. ||2||
ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਈ ਕਉ ਉਠਿ ਰੋਵੈ ॥
vasat paraaee kau utth rovai |
He cries for the possessions of others.
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਸਗਲਾ ਈ ਖੋਵੈ ॥
karam dharam sagalaa ee khovai |
He forfeits all the merits of his good deeds and religion.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੇ ॥
hukam na boojhai aavan jaane |
He does not understand the Hukam of the Lord's Command, and so he continues coming and going in reincarnation.
ਪਾਪ ਕਰੈ ਤਾ ਪਛੋਤਾਣੇ ॥੩॥
paap karai taa pachhotaane |3|
He sins, and then regrets and repents. ||3||
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
jo tudh bhaavai so paravaan |
Whatever pleases You, Lord, that alone is acceptable.
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਨੋ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥
tere bhaane no kurabaan |
I am a sacrifice to Your Will.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗਰੀਬੁ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
naanak gareeb bandaa jan teraa |
Poor Nanak is Your slave, Your humble servant.
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੨॥
raakh lee saahib prabh meraa |4|1|22|
Save me, O my Lord God Master! ||4||1||22||
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
dhanaasaree mahalaa 5 |
Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਮੋਹਿ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
mohi masakeen prabh naam adhaar |
I am meek and poor; the Name of God is my only Support.
ਖਾਟਣ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੋਜਗਾਰੁ ॥
khaattan kau har har rojagaar |
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is my occupation and earnings.
ਸੰਚਣ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
sanchan kau har eko naam |
I gather only the Lord's Name.
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥
halat palat taa kai aavai kaam |1|
It is useful in both this world and the next. ||1||
ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੰਗਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
naam rate prabh rang apaar |
Imbued with the Love of the Lord God's Infinite Name,
ਸਾਧ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਏਕ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saadh gaaveh gun ek nirankaar | rahaau |
the Holy Saints sing the Glorious Praises of the One Lord, the Formless Lord. ||Pause||
ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਅਤਿ ਮਸਕੀਨੀ ॥
saadh kee sobhaa at masakeenee |
The Glory of the Holy Saints comes from their total humility.
ਸੰਤ ਵਡਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਚੀਨੀ ॥
sant vaddaaee har jas cheenee |
The Saints realize that their greatness rests in the Praises of the Lord.
ਅਨਦੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥
anad santan kai bhagat govind |
Meditating on the Lord of the Universe, the Saints are in bliss.
ਸੂਖੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੨॥
sookh santan kai binasee chind |2|
The Saints find peace, and their anxieties are dispelled. ||2||
ਜਹ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤਨ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ॥
jeh saadh santan hoveh ikatr |
Wherever the Holy Saints gather,
ਤਹ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਾਦ ਕਵਿਤ ॥
teh har jas gaaveh naad kavit |
there they sing the Praises of the Lord, in music and poetry.
ਸਾਧ ਸਭਾ ਮਹਿ ਅਨਦ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥
saadh sabhaa meh anad bisraam |
In the Society of the Saints, there is bliss and peace.
ਉਨ ਸੰਗੁ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
aun sang so paae jis masatak karaam |3|
They alone obtain this Society, upon whose foreheads such destiny is written. ||3||
ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
due kar jorr karee aradaas |
With my palms pressed together, I offer my prayer.
ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਰਿ ਕਹਾਂ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥
charan pakhaar kahaan gunataas |
I wash their feet, and chant the Praises of the Lord, the treasure of virtue.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
prabh deaal kirapaal hajoor |
O God, merciful and compassionate, let me remain in Your Presence.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਸੰਤਾ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੩॥
naanak jeevai santaa dhoor |4|2|23|
Nanak lives, in the dust of the Saints. ||4||2||23||
