“If now you are forsaking me, then why did you own me at that time? O king! I am saying the truth that he is your son.40.

You may tell me some sign or saying, otherwise I shall not wed You; O woman! Do not forsake your shyness 42.

Sakuntla placed a gold coin on the hand of the king and said, " You look at it and remember." 43.

The king remembered all and recognised Shakuntala,Then the king solemnised his wedding with her and enjoyed her in various ways.44.

ਅਮਿਤੋਜ ਬਲੀ ॥

She had seven charming sons born to her, who were man of infinite glory and destroyers of enemies. 45.

ਰਿਖਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਰਜੀ ॥

They conquered the earth after killing the mighty kings and inviting the sages performed the Yajna. 46.

ਅਰਿ ਪੁੰਜ ਹਰੇ ॥

ਅਤਿ ਸੂਰ ਮਹਾ ॥

The performed good actions and destroyed the enemies and none seems equivalent in bravery to them. 47.

They were lustrous like moonlight and women of gods of all the four directions were pleased to see them. 48.

ਸਗਲ ਬਨਸਪਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਦੂਧ ਮਹਿ ਘੀਆ ॥
sagal banasapat meh baisantar sagal doodh meh gheea |
Fire is contained in all firewood, and butter is contained in all milk.
ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੀਆ ॥੧॥
aooch neech meh jot samaanee ghatt ghatt maadhau jeea |1|
God's Light is contained in the high and the low; the Lord is in the hearts of all beings. ||1||
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਹਿਓ ॥
santahu ghatt ghatt rahiaa samaahio |
O Saints, He is pervading and permeating each and every heart.
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਰਬ ਮਹਿ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਆਹਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The Perfect Lord is completely permeating everyone, everywhere; He is diffused in the water and the land. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਓ ॥
gun nidhaan naanak jas gaavai satigur bharam chukaaeo |
Nanak sings the Praises of the Lord, the treasure of excellence; the True Guru has dispelled his doubt.
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਸਦਾ ਅਲੇਪਾ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੯॥
sarab nivaasee sadaa alepaa sabh meh rahiaa samaaeo |2|1|29|
The Lord is pervading everywhere, permeating all, and yet, He is unattached from all. ||2||1||29||

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਦੁਖੀ ॥
jaa kai simaran hoe anandaa binasai janam maran bhai dukhee |
Meditating on Him, one is in ecstasy; the pains of birth and death and fear are removed.
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖੀ ॥੧॥
chaar padaarath nav nidh paaveh bahur na trisanaa bhukhee |1|
The four cardinal blessings, and the nine treasures are received; you shall never feel hunger or thirst again. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਤੂ ਸੁਖੀ ॥
jaa ko naam lait too sukhee |
Chanting His Name, you shall be at peace.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਉ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਜੀਅਰੇ ਮੁਖੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saas saas dhiaavahu tthaakur kau man tan jeeare mukhee |1| rahaau |
With each and every breath, meditate on the Lord and Master, O my soul, with mind, body and mouth. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨ ਸੀਤਲ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧੁਖੀ ॥
saant paaveh hoveh man seetal agan na antar dhukhee |
You shall find peace, and your mind shall be soothed and cooled; the fire of desire shall not burn within you.
ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਰੁਖੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੦॥
gur naanak kau prabhoo dikhaaeaa jal thal tribhavan rukhee |2|2|30|
The Guru has revealed God to Nanak, in the three worlds, in the water, the earth and the woods. ||2||2||30||

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਝੂਠ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਇਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਵਹੁ ॥
kaam krodh lobh jhootth nindaa in te aap chhaddaavahu |
Sexual desire, anger, greed, falsehood and slander - please, save me from these, O Lord.
ਇਹ ਭੀਤਰ ਤੇ ਇਨ ਕਉ ਡਾਰਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬੁਲਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥
eih bheetar te in kau ddaarahu aapan nikatt bulaavahu |1|
Please eradicate these from within me, and call me to come close to You. ||1||
ਅਪੁਨੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਨਾਵਹੁ ॥
apunee bidh aap janaavahu |
You alone teach me Your Ways.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har jan mangal gaavahu |1| rahaau |
With the Lord's humble servants, I sing His Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਬਹੂ ਹੀਏ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
bisar naahee kabahoo hee te ih bidh man meh paavahu |
May I never forget the Lord within my heart; please, instill such understanding within my mind.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਧਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੧॥
gur pooraa bhettio vaddabhaagee jan naanak kateh na dhaavahu |2|3|31|
By great good fortune, servant Nanak has met with the Perfect Guru, and now, he will not go anywhere else. ||2||3||31||

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਘਾਲ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
jaa kai simaran sabh kachh paaeeai birathee ghaal na jaaee |
Meditating in remembrance on Him, all things are obtained, and one's efforts shall not be in vain.
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਅਵਰ ਕਤ ਰਾਚਹੁ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
tis prabh tiaag avar kat raachahu jo sabh meh rahiaa samaaee |1|
Forsaking God, why do you attach yourself to another? He is contained in everything. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥
har har simarahu sant gopaalaa |
O Saints, meditate in remembrance on the World-Lord, Har, Har.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਘਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saadhasang mil naam dhiaavahu pooran hovai ghaalaa |1| rahaau |
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; your efforts shall be rewarded. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਲੈ ਨਿਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਹਿਤ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
saar samaalai nit pratipaalai prem sahit gal laavai |
He ever preserves and cherishes His servant; with Love, He hugs him close.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਜਗਤ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੩੨॥
kahu naanak prabh tumare bisarat jagat jeevan kaise paavai |2|4|32|
Says Nanak, forgetting You, O God, how can the world find life? ||2||4||32||

ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਜੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭ ਮਲੁ ਖੋਈ ॥
abinaasee jeean ko daataa simarat sabh mal khoee |
He is imperishable, the Giver of all beings; meditating on Him, all filth is removed.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਉ ਬਰਤਨਿ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥
gun nidhaan bhagatan kau baratan biralaa paavai koee |1|
He is the treasure of excellence, the object of His devotees, but rare are those who find Him. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
mere man jap gur gopaal prabh soee |
O my mind, meditate on the Guru, and God, the Cherisher of the world.
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa kee saran peaan sukh paaeeai baahurr dookh na hoee |1| rahaau |
Seeking His Sanctuary, one finds peace, and he shall not suffer in pain again. ||1||Pause||
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਤਿਨ ਭੇਟਤ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
vaddabhaagee saadhasang paraapat tin bhettat duramat khoee |
By great good fortune, one obtains the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Meeting them, evil-mindedness is eliminated.
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਬਾਛੈ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੩॥
tin kee dhoor naanak daas baachhai jin har naam ridai paroee |2|5|33|
Slave Nanak yearns for the dust of the feet of those, who have woven the Lord's Name into their hearts. ||2||5||33||
