ਹਹਾਸੰ ਕਪਾਲੰ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭਾਸੰ ਜ੍ਵਾਲੰ ॥

The Kalki incarnation like Shiva, giver of happiness to all, mounting on his Bull, remained stable in the battlefield like the dreadful fires.521.

ਮਹਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰੇ ॥

mahaa roop dhaare |

ਦੁਰੰ ਦੁਖ ਤਾਰੇ ॥

duran dukh taare |

He, assuming his great benign form, was destroying the afflicting agonies

ਸਰੰਨੀ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥

saranee udhaare |

ਅਘੀ ਪਾਪ ਵਾਰੇ ॥੫੨੨॥

aghee paap vaare |522|

He was redeeming those who had taken shelter and was removing th effect of sin of the sinners.522.

ਦਿਪੈ ਜੋਤਿ ਜ੍ਵਾਲਾ ॥

dipai jot jvaalaa |

ਕਿਧੌ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਮਾਲਾ ॥

kidhau jvaal maalaa |

He was unfolding brilliance like the fire or the roasary of fire

ਮਨੋ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਬਾਲਾ ॥

mano jvaal baalaa |

ਸਰੂਪੰ ਕਰਾਲਾ ॥੫੨੩॥

saroopan karaalaa |523|

His dreadful form was radiating brightness like fire.523.

ਧਰੇ ਖਗ ਪਾਣੰ ॥

dhare khag paanan |

ਤਿਹੂੰ ਲੋਗ ਮਾਣੰ ॥

tihoon log maanan |

ਦਯੰ ਦੀਹ ਦਾਨੰ ॥

dayan deeh daanan |

ਭਰੇ ਸਉਜ ਮਾਨੰ ॥੫੨੪॥

bhare sauj maanan |524|

The Lord of all the three worlds took his dagger in his hand and in his pleasure, he destroyed the demons.524.

ਅਜੀਤੇ ਜੀਤ ਜੀਤ ਕੈ ॥

ajeete jeet jeet kai |

ਅਭੀਰੀ ਭਾਜੇ ਭੀਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ॥

abheeree bhaaje bheer hvai |

Conquering the invincible people and causing the warriors to run away like cowards and

ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ਚੀਨ ਰਾਜ ਪੈ ॥

sidhaare cheen raaj pai |

ਸਥੋਈ ਸਰਬ ਸਾਥ ਕੈ ॥੫੨੫॥

sathoee sarab saath kai |525|

taking all his allies with him, he reached the kingdom of China.525.

ਤਮੰਕੇ ਰਾਜਧਾਰੀ ਕੈ ॥

tamanke raajadhaaree kai |

ਰਜੀਲੇ ਰੋਹਵਾਰੀ ਕੈ ॥

rajeele rohavaaree kai |

The angry and furious tone of the Kalki incarnation, who assumed royalty, is very queer

ਕਾਟੀਲੇ ਕਾਮ ਰੂਪਾ ਕੈ ॥

kaatteele kaam roopaa kai |

ਕੰਬੋਜੇ ਕਾਸਕਾਰੀ ਕੈ ॥੫੨੬॥

kanboje kaasakaaree kai |526|

Before him, the beauty of the women of Kamroop with bewitching eyes and the charm of Kamboj country is devoid of radiance.526.

ਢਮੰਕੇ ਢੋਲ ਢਾਲੋ ਕੈ ॥

dtamanke dtol dtaalo kai |

ਡਮੰਕੇ ਡੰਕ ਵਾਰੋ ਕੈ ॥

ddamanke ddank vaaro kai |

His drums, are his shields, his blows are severe,

ਘਮੰਕੇ ਨੇਜ ਬਾਜਾ ਦੇ ॥

ghamanke nej baajaa de |

ਤਮੰਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਤਾਜਾ ਦੇ ॥੫੨੭॥

his musical instruments create loud sounds and his arrows raise anger and ire.527.

ਤਿਹੀ ਗੁਣੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥

tihee gunee tribhavan viaapiaa bhaaee guramukh boojh bujhaae |

The three worlds are entangled in the three qualities, O Siblings of Destiny; the Guru imparts understanding.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗਿ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਗਿਆਨੀਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥

raam naam lag chhootteeai bhaaee poochhahu giaaneea jaae |1|

Attached to the Lord's Name, one is emancipated, O Siblings of Destiny; go and ask the wise ones about this. ||1||

ਮਨ ਰੇ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਉਥੈ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥

man re trai gun chhodd chauthai chit laae |

O mind, renounce the three qualities, and focus your consciousness on the fourth state.

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਭਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

har jeeo terai man vasai bhaaee sadaa har ke gun gaae | rahaau |

The Dear Lord abides in the mind, O Siblings of Destiny; ever sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||Pause||

ਨਾਮੈ ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਊਪਜੇ ਭਾਈ ਨਾਇ ਵਿਸਰਿਐ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥

naamai te sabh aoopaje bhaaee naae visariai mar jaae |

From the Naam, everyone originated, O Siblings of Destiny; forgetting the Naam, they die away.

ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਗਤੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਸੂਤੇ ਗਏ ਮੁਹਾਇ ॥੨॥

agiaanee jagat andh hai bhaaee soote ge muhaae |2|

The ignorant world is blind, O Siblings of Destiny; those who sleep are plundered. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਗੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਿ ॥

guramukh jaage se ubare bhaaee bhavajal paar utaar |

Those Gurmukhs who remain awake are saved, O Siblings of Destiny; they cross over the terrifying world-ocean.

ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੩॥

jag meh laahaa har naam hai bhaaee hiradai rakhiaa ur dhaar |3|

In this world, the Name of the Lord is the true profit, O Siblings of Destiny; keep it enshrined within your heart. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਉਬਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥

gur saranaaee ubare bhaaee raam naam liv laae |

In the Guru's Sanctuary, O Siblings of Destiny, you shall be saved; be lovingly attuned to the Lord's Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਉ ਬੇੜਾ ਨਾਉ ਤੁਲਹੜਾ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਜਨ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੯॥

naanak naau berraa naau tulaharraa bhaaee jit lag paar jan paae |4|9|

O Nanak, the Name of the Lord is the boat, and the Name is the raft, O Siblings of Destiny; setting out on it, the Lord's humble servant crosses over the world-ocean. ||4||9||

Sorat'h, Third Mehl, First House:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹੋਰ ਥੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

satigur sukh saagar jag antar hor thai sukh naahee |

The True Guru is the ocean of peace in the world; there is no other place of rest and peace.

ਹਉਮੈ ਜਗਤੁ ਦੁਖਿ ਰੋਗਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਰੋਵੈ ਧਾਹੀ ॥੧॥

haumai jagat dukh rog viaapiaa mar janamai rovai dhaahee |1|

The world is afflicted with the painful disease of egotism; dying, only to be reborn, it cries out in pain. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥

praanee satigur sev sukh paae |

O mind, serve the True Guru, and obtain peace.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਤ ਜਾਹਿਗਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

satigur seveh taa sukh paaveh naeh ta jaahigaa janam gavaae | rahaau |

If you serve the True Guru, you shall find peace; otherwise, you shall depart, after wasting away your life in vain. ||Pause||

ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਧਾਤੁ ਬਹੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਸਾਦੁ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥

trai gun dhaat bahu karam kamaaveh har ras saad na aaeaa |

Led around by the three qualities, he does many deeds, but he does not come to taste and savor the subtle essence of the Lord.

ਸੰਧਿਆ ਤਰਪਣੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥

sandhiaa tarapan kareh gaaeitree bin boojhe dukh paaeaa |2|

He says his evening prayers, and makes offerings of water, and recites his morning prayers, but without true understanding, he still suffers in pain. ||2||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥

satigur seve so vaddabhaagee jis no aap milaae |

One who serves the True Guru is very fortunate; as the Lord so wills, he meets with the Guru.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀ ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੩॥

har ras pee jan sadaa tripataase vichahu aap gavaae |3|

Drinking in the sublime essence of the Lord, His humble servants remain ever satisfied; they eradicate self-conceit from within themselves. ||3||

ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਅੰਧਾ ਸਭੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥

eihu jag andhaa sabh andh kamaavai bin gur mag na paae |

This world is blind, and all act blindly; without the Guru, no one finds the Path.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਅਖੀ ਵੇਖੈ ਘਰੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੧੦॥

naanak satigur milai ta akhee vekhai gharai andar sach paae |4|10|

O Nanak, meeting with the True Guru, one sees with his eyes, and finds the True Lord within the home of his own being. ||4||10||

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਭਰਮਾਈ ॥

bin satigur seve bahutaa dukh laagaa jug chaare bharamaaee |

Without serving the True Guru, he suffers in terrible pain, and throughout the four ages, he wanders aimlessly.

ਹਮ ਦੀਨ ਤੁਮ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਦਾਤੇ ਸਬਦੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧॥

ham deen tum jug jug daate sabade dehi bujhaaee |1|

I am poor and meek, and throughout the ages, You are the Great Giver - please, grant me the understanding of the Shabad. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥

har jeeo kripaa karahu tum piaare |

O Dear Beloved Lord, please show mercy to me.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਆਧਾਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

satigur daataa mel milaavahu har naam devahu aadhaare | rahaau |

Unite me in the Union of the True Guru, the Great Giver, and give me the support of the Lord's Name. ||Pause||

ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥

manasaa maar dubidhaa sehaj samaanee paaeaa naam apaaraa |

Conquering my desires and duality, I have merged in celestial peace, and I have found the Naam, the Name of the Infinite Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥੨॥

har ras chaakh man niramal hoaa kilabikh kaattanahaaraa |2|

I have tasted the sublime essence of the Lord, and my soul has become immaculately pure; the Lord is the Destroyer of sins. ||2||

ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰਹੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੀਵਹੁ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥

sabad marahu fir jeevahu sad hee taa fir maran na hoee |

Dying in the Word of the Shabad, you shall live forever, and you shall never die again.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥

amrit naam sadaa man meetthaa sabade paavai koee |3|

The Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam is ever-sweet to the mind; but how few are those who obtain the Shabad. ||3||

ਦਾਤੈ ਦਾਤਿ ਰਖੀ ਹਥਿ ਅਪਣੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਈ ॥

daatai daat rakhee hath apanai jis bhaavai tis deee |

The Great Giver keeps His Gifts in His Hand; He gives them to those with whom He is pleased.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦਰਗਹ ਜਾਪਹਿ ਸੇਈ ॥੪॥੧੧॥

naanak naam rate sukh paaeaa daragah jaapeh seee |4|11|

O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, they find peace, and in the Court of the Lord, they are exalted. ||4||11||
