ਸੰਭਰ ਨਰੇਸ ਮਾਰਿਓ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥

sanbhar nares maario nidaan |

ਢੋਲੰ ਮਿਦੰਗ ਬਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ॥

dtolan midang baje pramaan |

ਭਾਜੇ ਸੁਬੀਰ ਤਜਿ ਜੁਧ ਤ੍ਰਾਸਿ ॥

bhaaje subeer taj judh traas |

ਤਜਿ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਰਬ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਚਿਤਿ ਨਿਰਾਸ ॥੪੫੧॥

taj sasatr sarab hvai chit niraas |451|

Ultimately, the king of Sambhal was killed, the small and large drums sounded, the warriors, frightened of war ran away and getting disappointed, they abandoned all the weapons.451.

ਹੋਵੰਤ ਜਗ ਜਹ ਤਹ ਸੁ ਇਸਟ ॥

ਹੋਵੰਤ ਸਿਧ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੁ ਢਾਲ ॥੪੫੨॥

The gods showered flowers and everywhere the patron-god was worshipped, the people adored the dreadful goddess and many works were finalized.452.

ਪਾਵੰਤ ਦਾਨ ਜਾਚਕ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥

paavant daan jaachak durant |

ਭਾਖੰਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਹ ਤਹ ਬਿਅੰਤ ॥

bhaakhant krit jeh teh biant |

ਜਗ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਜਗਿ ਆਦਿ ਦਾਨ ॥

jag dhoop deep jag aad daan |

ਹੋਵੰਤ ਹੋਮ ਬੇਦਨ ਬਿਧਾਨ ॥੪੫੩॥

hovant hom bedan bidhaan |453|

The beggars received charity and everywhere the poems were composed, the Yajnas, burning of incense, lighting of lamps, the charities etc. were all done according to vedic rites.453.

ਪੂਜੰਤ ਲਾਗ ਦੇਬੀ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥

poojant laag debee durant |

ਤਜਿ ਸਰਬ ਕਾਮ ਜਹ ਤਹ ਮਹੰਤ ॥

taj sarab kaam jeh teh mahant |

ਬਾਧੀ ਧੁਜਾਨ ਪਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ॥

baadhee dhujaan paraman prachandd |

ਪ੍ਰਚੁਰਿਓ ਸੁ ਧਰਮ ਖੰਡੇ ਅਖੰਡ ॥੪੫੪॥

prachurio su dharam khandde akhandd |454|

The heads of hermitages, leaving all other works, worshipped the goddess, the powerful goddess was established again and in this way, there was propagation of the perfect Dharma.454.

The king of Sambhal was killed and there was discussion regarding dharma in all the four directions, people made offerings to Kalki.455.

ਜਿਤਿਓ ਦੇਸ ਐਸੇ ॥

ਚੜਿਓ ਕੋਪ ਕੈਸੇ ॥

ਬੁਲਿਓ ਸਰਬ ਸੈਣੰ ॥

ਕਰੇ ਰਕਤ ਨੈਣੰ ॥੪੫੬॥

While the whole of the country was conquered, kalki got infuriated and he reddening his eyes, called all his army.456.

dee jeet banban |

ਗਡਿਓ ਜੁਧ ਖੰਭੰ ॥

gaddio judh khanbhan |

ਚਮੂੰ ਚਉਪਿ ਚਾਲੀ ॥

chamoon chaup chaalee |

ਥਿਰਾ ਸਰਬ ਹਾਲੀ ॥੪੫੭॥

He sounded the horn of victory and he planted the column of war again, the whole army in great zeal, marched forward and the whole earth trembled.457.

ਚੜੇ ਚਉਪ ਸੂਰੰ ॥

The earth trembled like the boat in water, the warriors moved with great excitement and the atmosphere was filled with dust on all the sides.458.

All those who had canopies over their heads, got infuriated, taking with them all their armies, in anger, they marched like Indra or Vritasura.459.

ਕਥੈ ਕੌਣ ਬੈਣੰ ॥

ਚਲੀ ਸਾਜਿ ਸਾਜਾ ॥

The glory of their armies is indescribable, all of them marched after bedcking themselves and the instruments of victory were played.460.

ਮਾਇ ਬਾਪ ਕੋ ਬੇਟਾ ਨੀਕਾ ਸਸੁਰੈ ਚਤੁਰੁ ਜਵਾਈ ॥

maae baap ko bettaa neekaa sasurai chatur javaaee |

The son is dear to his mother and father; he is the wise son-in-law to his father-in-law.

ਬਾਲ ਕੰਨਿਆ ਕੌ ਬਾਪੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਭਾਈ ਕੌ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਈ ॥

baal kaniaa kau baap piaaraa bhaaee kau at bhaaee |

The father is dear to his son and daughter, and the brother is very dear to his brother.

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਭਇਆ ਬਾਹਰੁ ਘਰੁ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਭਈ ਪਰਾਈ ॥

hukam bheaa baahar ghar chhoddiaa khin meh bhee paraaee |

By the Order of the Lord's Command, he leaves his house and goes outside, and in an instant, everything becomes alien to him.

ਨਾਮੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਨ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ ਧੂੜਿ ਧੁਮਾਈ ॥੧॥

naam daan isanaan na manamukh tith tan dhoorr dhumaaee |1|

The self-willed manmukh does not remember the Name of the Lord, does not give in charity, and does not cleanse his consciousness; his body rolls in the dust. ||1||

ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ॥

man maaniaa naam sakhaaee |

The mind is comforted by the Comforter of the Naam.

ਪਾਇ ਪਰਉ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

paae prau gur kai balihaarai jin saachee boojh bujhaaee | rahaau |

I fall at the Guru's feet - I am a sacrifice to Him; He has given me to understand the true understanding. ||Pause||

ਜਗ ਸਿਉ ਝੂਠ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਵਾਦੁ ਰਚਾਈ ॥

jag siau jhootth preet man bedhiaa jan siau vaad rachaaee |

The mind is impressed with the false love of the world; he quarrels with the Lord's humble servant.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗਨੁ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਮਗੁ ਜੋਹੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਲੇਵੈ ਮਰੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਈ ॥

maaeaa magan ahinis mag johai naam na levai marai bikh khaaee |

Infatuated with Maya, night and day, he sees only the worldly path; he does not chant the Naam, and drinking poison, he dies.

ਗੰਧਣ ਵੈਣਿ ਰਤਾ ਹਿਤਕਾਰੀ ਸਬਦੈ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨ ਆਈ ॥

gandhan vain rataa hitakaaree sabadai surat na aaee |

He is imbued and infatuated with vicious talk; the Word of the Shabad does not come into his consciousness.

ਰੰਗਿ ਨ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਸਿ ਨਹੀ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੨॥

rang na raataa ras nahee bedhiaa manamukh pat gavaaee |2|

He is not imbued with the Lord's Love, and he is not impressed by the taste of the Name; the self-willed manmukh loses his honor. ||2||

ਸਾਧ ਸਭਾ ਮਹਿ ਸਹਜੁ ਨ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਰਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਈ ॥

saadh sabhaa meh sehaj na chaakhiaa jihabaa ras nahee raaee |

He does not enjoy celestial peace in the Company of the Holy, and there is not even a bit of sweetness on his tongue.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਦਰ ਕੀ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥

man tan dhan apunaa kar jaaniaa dar kee khabar na paaee |

He calls his mind, body and wealth his own; he has no knowledge of the Court of the Lord.

ਅਖੀ ਮੀਟਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਅੰਧਿਆਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਦਰੁ ਦਿਸੈ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥

akhee meett chaliaa andhiaaraa ghar dar disai na bhaaee |

Closing his eyes, he walks in darkness; he cannot see the home of his own being, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਜਮ ਦਰਿ ਬਾਧਾ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕੀਆ ਕਮਾਈ ॥੩॥

jam dar baadhaa tthaur na paavai apunaa keea kamaaee |3|

Tied up at Death's door, he finds no place of rest; he receives the rewards of his own actions. ||3||

ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਅਖੀ ਵੇਖਾ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥

nadar kare taa akhee vekhaa kahanaa kathan na jaaee |

When the Lord casts His Glance of Grace, then I see Him with my own eyes; He is indescribable, and cannot be described.

ਕੰਨੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਾਈ ॥

kanee sun sun sabad salaahee amrit ridai vasaaee |

With my ears, I continually listen to the Word of the Shabad, and I praise Him; His Ambrosial Name abides within my heart.

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥

nirbhau nirankaar niravair pooran jot samaaee |

He is Fearless, Formless and absolutely without vengeance; I am absorbed in His Perfect Light.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਣੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਨ ਭਾਗੈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੪॥੩॥

naanak gur vin bharam na bhaagai sach naam vaddiaaee |4|3|

O Nanak, without the Guru, doubt is not dispelled; through the True Name, glorious greatness is obtained. ||4||3||

ਪੁੜੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਪੁੜੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਆਸਣੁ ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਚਉਬਾਰਾ ॥

purr dharatee purr paanee aasan chaar kuntt chaubaaraa |

In the realm of land, and in the realm of water, Your seat is the chamber of the four directions.

ਸਗਲ ਭਵਣ ਕੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਏਕਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਟਕਸਾਲਾ ॥੧॥

sagal bhavan kee moorat ekaa mukh terai ttakasaalaa |1|

Yours is the one and only form of the entire universe; Your mouth is the mint to fashion all. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਚੋਜ ਵਿਡਾਣਾ ॥

mere saahibaa tere choj viddaanaa |

O my Lord Master, Your play is so wonderful!

ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਭਰਿਪੁਰਿ ਲੀਣਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਰਬ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jal thal maheeal bharipur leenaa aape sarab samaanaa | rahaau |

You are pervading and permeating the water, the land and the sky; You Yourself are contained in all. ||Pause||

ਜਹ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਕਿਨੇਹਾ ॥

jeh jeh dekhaa teh jot tumaaree teraa roop kinehaa |

Wherever I look, there I see Your Light, but what is Your form?

ਇਕਤੁ ਰੂਪਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਪਰਛੰਨਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਜੇਹਾ ॥੨॥

eikat roop fireh parachhanaa koe na kis hee jehaa |2|

You have one form, but it is unseen; there is none like any other. ||2||

ਅੰਡਜ ਜੇਰਜ ਉਤਭੁਜ ਸੇਤਜ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੰਤਾ ॥

anddaj jeraj utabhuj setaj tere keete jantaa |

The beings born of eggs, born of the womb, born of the earth and born of sweat, all are created by You.

ਏਕੁ ਪੁਰਬੁ ਮੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤੂ ਸਭਨਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਰਵੰਤਾ ॥੩॥

ek purab mai teraa dekhiaa too sabhanaa maeh ravantaa |3|

I have seen one glory of Yours, that You are pervading and permeating in all. ||3||

ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਮੈ ਏਕੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥

tere gun bahute mai ek na jaaniaa mai moorakh kichh deejai |

Your Glories are so numerous, and I do not know even one of them; I am such a fool - please, give me some of them!

ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਾ ਡੁਬਦਾ ਪਥਰੁ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੪॥੪॥

pranavat naanak sun mere saahibaa ddubadaa pathar leejai |4|4|

Prays Nanak, listen, O my Lord Master: I am sinking like a stone - please, save me! ||4||4||

ਹਉ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਤਿਤੁ ਪਰਮ ਪਾਖੰਡੀ ਤੂ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀ ॥

hau paapee patit param paakhanddee too niramal nirankaaree |

I am a wicked sinner and a great hypocrite; You are the Immaculate and Formless Lord.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਪਰਮ ਰਸਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

amrit chaakh param ras raate tthaakur saran tumaaree |1|

Tasting the Ambrosial Nectar, I am imbued with supreme bliss; O Lord and Master, I seek Your Sanctuary. ||1||

ਕਰਤਾ ਤੂ ਮੈ ਮਾਣੁ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ॥

karataa too mai maan nimaane |

O Creator Lord, You are the honor of the dishonored.

ਮਾਣੁ ਮਹਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਲੈ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

maan mehat naam dhan palai saachai sabad samaane | rahaau |

In my lap is the honor and glory of the wealth of the Name; I merge into the True Word of the Shabad. ||Pause||

ਤੂ ਪੂਰਾ ਹਮ ਊਰੇ ਹੋਛੇ ਤੂ ਗਉਰਾ ਹਮ ਹਉਰੇ ॥

too pooraa ham aoore hochhe too gauraa ham haure |

You are perfect, while I am worthless and imperfect. You are profound, while I am trivial.

ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਰਾਤੇ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਪਰਭਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰੇ ॥੨॥

tujh hee man raate ahinis parabhaate har rasanaa jap man re |2|

My mind is imbued with You, day and night and morning, O Lord; my tongue chants Your Name, and my mind meditates on You. ||2||

ਤੁਮ ਸਾਚੇ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਰਾਚੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਭੇਦਿ ਫੁਨਿ ਸਾਚੇ ॥

tum saache ham tum hee raache sabad bhed fun saache |

You are True, and I am absorbed into You; through the mystery of the Shabad, I shall ultimately become True as well.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਸੂਚੇ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੇ ਸੇ ਕਾਚੇ ॥੩॥

ahinis naam rate se sooche mar janame se kaache |3|

Those who are imbued with the Naam day and night are pure, while those who die to be reborn are impure. ||3||

ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਕਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਸਰੀਕੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥

avar na deesai kis saalaahee tiseh sareek na koee |

I do not see any other like the Lord; who else should I praise? No one is equal to Him.

ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥੪॥੫॥

pranavat naanak daasan daasaa guramat jaaniaa soee |4|5|

Prays Nanak, I am the slave of His slaves; by Guru's Instruction, I know Him. ||4||5||
