ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮਤੋ ਏਕ ਨ ਚਲ ਹੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
bhin bhin ghar ghar mato ek na chal hai koe |
There will be different beliefs in every home, no one will follow only one belief
ਪਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਚੁਰ ਜਹ ਤਹ ਭਯੋ ਧਰਮ ਨ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਹੋਇ ॥੯॥
paap prachur jeh teh bhayo dharam na katahoon hoe |9|
There will be a great increase in the propagation of sin and there will be no dharma (piety) anywhere.9.

ਸੰਕਰ ਬਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਭ ਹੋਈ ॥

ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਜਗਤਿ ਨ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਕੋਈ ॥
chhatree jagat na dekheeai koee |
The subjects will become hybrid and no Kshatriya will be seen in the whole world
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਐਸੇ ਮਤ ਕੈ ਹੈ ॥
ek ek aise mat kai hai |
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਸੂਦ੍ਰਤਾ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
jaa te praapat soodrataa hoe hai |10|
All will do such things that they will all become Shudras.10.
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਮਤ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਹਰਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
hindoo turak mat duhoon prahar kar |
ਚਲਿ ਹੈ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਮਤ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ॥
chal hai bhin bhin mat ghar ghar |
Hinduism and Islam will be relinquished and in every home there will be diverse beliefs
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਕੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਨ ਗਹਿ ਹੈ ॥
ek ek ke mantr na geh hai |
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਰਹਿ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
ek ek ke sang na reh hai |11|
No one will listen to the ideas of another one, on one will remain with anyone.11.
ਆਪੁ ਆਪੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਹੈ ਹੈ ॥
aap aap paarabraham kahai hai |
ਨੀਚ ਊਚ ਕਹ ਸੀਸ ਨ ਨੈ ਹੈ ॥
neech aooch keh sees na nai hai |
All will proclaim themselves as Lord and no younger one will bow before the elder one
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਮਤ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਧਾਮਾ ॥
ek ek mat ik ik dhaamaa |
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਬੈਠ ਹੈ ਰਾਮਾ ॥੧੨॥
ghar ghar hoe baitth hai raamaa |12|
In every house will be born such people who will declare themselves as Ram.12.
ਪੜਿ ਹੈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਭੂਲਿ ਪੁਰਾਨਾ ॥
parr hai koe na bhool puraanaa |
ਕੋਊ ਨ ਪਕਰ ਹੈ ਪਾਨਿ ਕੁਰਾਨਾ ॥
koaoo na pakar hai paan kuraanaa |
No one will study Puranas even by mistake and will not catch the holy Quran in his hand
ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਜਵਨ ਕਰਿ ਲਹਿ ਹੈ ॥
bed kateb javan kar leh hai |
ਤਾ ਕਹੁ ਗੋਬਰਾਗਨਿ ਮੋ ਦਹਿ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
taa kahu gobaraagan mo deh hai |13|
He, who will catch the Vedas and Katebs, he will be killed by burning him in the fire of cowdung.13.
ਚਲੀ ਪਾਪ ਕੀ ਜਗਤਿ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥
chalee paap kee jagat kahaanee |
ਭਾਜਾ ਧਰਮ ਛਾਡ ਰਜਧਾਨੀ ॥
bhaajaa dharam chhaadd rajadhaanee |
The story of sin will become prevalent in the whole world and the dharma will flee from the hearts of the people
ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮਤ ਚਲਾ ॥
bhin bhin ghar ghar mat chalaa |
ਯਾ ਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਭਰਮਿ ਉਡਿ ਟਲਾ ॥੧੪॥
yaa te dharam bharam udd ttalaa |14|
There will be different beliefs in homes which cause the dharma and love to fly away.14.
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਮਤ ਐਸ ਉਚੈ ਹੈ ॥
ek ek mat ais uchai hai |
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਕਲ ਸੂਦ੍ਰ ਹੁਇ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥
jaa te sakal soodr hue jai hai |
Such notions will become prevalent that all will become Shudras
ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਨ ਰਹਾ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
chhatree brahaman rahaa na koee |
ਸੰਕਰ ਬਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਬ ਹੋਈ ॥੧੫॥
sankar baran prajaa sab hoee |15|
There will be no Kshatriyas and Brahmins and all the subjects will become hybrid.15.
ਸੂਦ੍ਰ ਧਾਮਿ ਬਸਿ ਹੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਣੀ ॥
soodr dhaam bas hai brahamanee |
ਬਈਸ ਨਾਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ਛਤ੍ਰਨੀ ॥
bees naar hoe hai chhatranee |
The Brahmin-women will live with Shudras
ਬਸਿ ਹੈ ਛਤ੍ਰਿ ਧਾਮਿ ਬੈਸਾਨੀ ॥
bas hai chhatr dhaam baisaanee |
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੂਦ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧੬॥
brahaman grih isatree soodraanee |16|
The Vaishya-women will reside in the homes of Kshatriyas and the Kshatriya-women in the homes of Vaishyas, the Shudra-women will be in the homes of Brahmins.16.
ਏਕ ਧਰਮ ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਨ ਚਲ ਹੈ ॥
ek dharam par prajaa na chal hai |
ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਦੋਊ ਮਤ ਦਲ ਹੈ ॥
bed kateb doaoo mat dal hai |
The subjects will not follow only one religion, and there will be disobedience to both the scriptures of Hinduism and Semitic religion
ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਮਤ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਹੋਈ ॥
bhin bhin mat ghar ghar hoee |
ਏਕ ਪੈਂਡ ਚਲ ਹੈ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥੧੭॥

Various religions will be prevelant in various homes and none will follow the one and the same path.17.

ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਮਤੋ ਘਰੋ ਘਰਿ ਏਕ ਏਕ ਚਲਾਇ ਹੈ ॥

ਐਂਡ ਬੈਂਡ ਫਿਰੈ ਸਬੈ ਸਿਰ ਏਕ ਏਕ ਨ ਨ︀ਯਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
aindd baindd firai sabai sir ek ek na nayaae hai |
When various religions will prevail in every home and all will walk in their pride and none of them will bow before any other
ਪੁਨਿ ਅਉਰ ਅਉਰ ਨਏ ਨਏ ਮਤ ਮਾਸਿ ਮਾਸਿ ਉਚਾਹਿਾਂਗੇ ॥
pun aaur aaur ne ne mat maas maas uchaahiaange |
ਦੇਵ ਪਿਤਰਨ ਪੀਰ ਕੋ ਨਹਿ ਭੂਲਿ ਪੂਜਨ ਜਾਹਿਾਂਗੇ ॥੧੮॥
dev pitaran peer ko neh bhool poojan jaahiaange |18|
There will be the birth of new religions every year and the people even by mistake will not worship gods, manes and pirs.18.
ਦੇਵ ਪੀਰ ਬਿਸਾਰ ਕੈ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਰ ਆਪੁ ਕਹਾਹਿਾਂਗੇ ॥
dev peer bisaar kai paramesr aap kahaahiaange |
Forgetting the gods and Pirs, the people will call themselves God
ਨਰ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਨ ਏਕ ਕੋ ਜੁਰਿ ਏਕ ਏਕ ਉਡਾਹਿਾਂਗੇ ॥
nar bhaat bhaatan ek ko jur ek ek uddaahiaange |
Several kinds of people will get together and spread various types of rumours
ਏਕ ਮਾਸ ਦੁਮਾਸ ਲੌ ਅਧ ਮਾਸ ਲੌ ਤੁ ਚਲਾਹਿਾਂਗੇ ॥
ek maas dumaas lau adh maas lau tu chalaahiaange |
ਅੰਤਿ ਬੂਬਰਿ ਪਾਨ ਜਿਉ ਮਤ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਹਿਾਂਗੇ ॥੧੯॥
ant boobar paan jiau mat aap hee mitt jaahiaange |19|
These new religions will continue for one or two month or even half a month and will ultimately end themselves lie the bubbles of water.19.
ਬੇਦ ਅਉਰ ਕਤੇਬ ਕੇ ਦੋ ਦੂਖ ਕੈ ਮਤ ਡਾਰਿ ਹੈ ॥

ਹਿਤ ਆਪਨੇ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਭੀਤਰ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਉਚਾਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
hit aapane tih tthaur bheetar jantr mantr uchaar hai |
Finding faults will the religions of Vedas and Katebs, they will be forsaken and the people will recite mantras and yantras according to their onw interest
ਮੁਖ ਬੇਦ ਅਉਰ ਕਤੇਬ ਕੋ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਮ ਲੇਨ ਨ ਦੇਹਿਗੇ ॥
mukh bed aaur kateb ko koee naam len na dehige |
ਕਿਸਹੂੰ ਨ ਕਉਡੀ ਪੁਨਿ ਤੇ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਕਿਉ ਹੀ ਦੇਹਗੇ ॥੨੦॥
kisahoon na kauddee pun te kabahoon na kiau hee dehage |20|
People will not be allowed ot utter the names of Vedas and Katebs and no one will give even a cowrie in charity.20.
ਪਾਪ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੈ ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
paap karam karai jahaa tahaa dharam karam bisaar kai |
ਨਹਿ ਦ੍ਰਬ ਦੇਖਤ ਛੋਡ ਹੈ ਲੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
neh drab dekhat chhodd hai lai putr mitr sanghaar kai |
Forgetting the actions of Dharma, the sinful actions will be committed and the money will be procured even by killing the son or friend
ਏਕਨੇਕ ਉਠਾਇ ਹੈ ਮਤਿ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਦਿਨੰ ਦਿਨਾ ॥
ekanek utthaae hai mat bhin bhin dinan dinaa |
ਫੋਕਟੰ ਧਰਮ ਸਬੈ ਕਲਿ ਕੇਵਲੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਣੰ ਬਿਨਾ ॥੨੧॥
fokattan dharam sabai kal kevalan prabhanan binaa |21|
New religions will arise always and these religions will be hollow without the name of the Lord.21.
ਇਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਚਲੈ ਕੋਊ ਮਤਿ ਦੋਇ ਦਿਉਸ ਚਲਾਹਿਗੇ ॥
eik divas chalai koaoo mat doe diaus chalaahige |
ਅੰਤਿ ਜੋਰਿ ਕੈ ਬਹਰੋ ਸਭੈ ਦਿਨ ਤੀਸਰੈ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਹਿਗੇ ॥
ant jor kai baharo sabhai din teesarai mitt jaahige |
Some religions will continue for one or two days and on the third day these religions taking birth on account of power will die their own death
ਪੁਨਿ ਅਉਰ ਅਉਰ ਉਚਾਹਿਗੇ ਮਤਣੋ ਗਤੰ ਚਤੁਰਥ ਦਿਨੰ ॥
pun aaur aaur uchaahige matano gatan chaturath dinan |
ਧਰਮ ਫੋਕਟਣੰ ਸਬੰ ਇਕ ਕੇਵਲੰ ਕਲਿਨੰ ਬਿਨੰ ॥੨੨॥
dharam fokattanan saban ik kevalan kalinan binan |22|
Again on the fourth day new religions will arise, but they wil all be without the idea of salvation.22.
ਛੰਦ ਬੰਦ ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਨਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਨਏ ਕਰਹਿ ॥
chhand band jahaa tahaa nar naar nit ne kareh |
The men and women will perform the works of deceit here and there
ਪੁਨਿ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਨਹੀ ਤੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਤ ਕਛੂ ਡਰਹਿ ॥
pun jantr mantr jahaa tahaa nahee tantr karat kachhoo ddareh |
Many mantras, yantras and tantras will spring up
ਧਰਮ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਉਤਾਰ ਕੈ ਰਨ ਛੋਰਿ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਭਾਜ ਹੈ ॥
dharam chhatr utaar kai ran chhor chhatree bhaaj hai |
ਸੂਦ੍ਰ ਬੈਸ ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਗਹਿ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਆਹਵ ਗਾਜ ਹੈ ॥੨੩॥
soodr bais jahaa tahaa geh asatr aahav gaaj hai |23|
Leaving the canopies of religions, the Kshatriyas will run away from fighting, and Shudras and Vaishyas will catch hold of weapons and arms and thunder in the battlefield.23.
ਛਤ੍ਰੀਆਨੀ ਛੋਰ ਕੈ ਨਰ ਨਾਹ ਨੀਚਨਿ ਰਾਵ ਹੈ ॥
chhatreeaanee chhor kai nar naah neechan raav hai |
Leaving the functions of Kshatriyas, the kings will perform disgraceful tasks
ਤਜਿ ਰਾਜ ਅਉਰ ਸਮਾਜ ਕੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਨੀਚਿ ਰਾਨੀ ਜਾਵ ਹੈ ॥
taj raaj aaur samaaj ko grihi neech raanee jaav hai |
The queens, leaving the kings, mix up with the low social orders
ਸੂਦ੍ਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਤਾ ਭਏ ਰਤਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੂਦ੍ਰੀ ਹੋਹਿਗੇ ॥
soodr braham sutaa bhe rat braham soodree hohige |
Shudras will be absorbed with the Brahmins girls and the Brahmins will also do like wise
ਬੇਸਿਯਾ ਬਾਲ ਬਿਲੋਕ ਕੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਰਾਜ ਧੀਰਜ ਖੋਹਿਗੇ ॥੨੪॥
besiyaa baal bilok kai mun raaj dheeraj khohige |24|
Seeing the daughters of the prostitutes. The great sages will lose their forbearance.24.
ਧਰਮ ਭਰਮਿ ਉਡ︀ਯੋ ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਪਾਪ ਪਗ ਪਗ ਪਰ ਹੋਹਿਗੇ ॥
dharam bharam uddayo jahaa tahaa paap pag pag par hohige |
The honour of religions will fly away and there will be sinful acts at every step
ਨਿਜ ਸਿਖ ਨਾਰਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਦਾਰਾ ਸੋ ਸਿਖ ਸੋਹਿਗੇ ॥
nij sikh naar guroo ramai gur daaraa so sikh sohige |
He Gurus will enjoy the wives of their disciples and the disciples will absorb themselves with the wives of their Gurus
ਅਬਿਬੇਕ ਅਉਰ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਕੋ ਨ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਬੈਠਿ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਹੈ ॥
abibek aaur bibek ko na bibek baitth bichaar hai |
ਪੁਨਿ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਿ ਕਮਾਹਿਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਸਾਚ ਬੋਲ ਉਤਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੨੫॥
pun jhootth bol kamaahige sir saach bol utaar hai |25|
No attention will be paid to foolishness and wisdom and the head of the speaker of truth will be chopped, the falsehood will reign supreme.25.

Salok, Mardaanaa:
ਕਲਿ ਕਲਵਾਲੀ ਕਾਮੁ ਮਦੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਪੀਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
kal kalavaalee kaam mad manooaa peevanahaar |
The Dark Age of Kali Yuga is the vessel, filled with the wine of sexual desire; the mind is the drunkard.
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਟੋਰੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਭਰੀ ਪੀਲਾਵਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
krodh kattoree mohi bharee peelaavaa ahankaar |
Anger is the cup, filled with emotional attachment, and egotism is the server.
ਮਜਲਸ ਕੂੜੇ ਲਬ ਕੀ ਪੀ ਪੀ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥
majalas koorre lab kee pee pee hoe khuaar |
Drinking too much in the company of falsehood and greed, one is ruined.
ਕਰਣੀ ਲਾਹਣਿ ਸਤੁ ਗੁੜੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
karanee laahan sat gurr sach saraa kar saar |
So let good deeds be your distillery, and Truth your molasses; in this way, make the most excellent wine of Truth.
ਗੁਣ ਮੰਡੇ ਕਰਿ ਸੀਲੁ ਘਿਉ ਸਰਮੁ ਮਾਸੁ ਆਹਾਰੁ ॥
gun mandde kar seel ghiau saram maas aahaar |
Make virtue your bread, good conduct the ghee, and modesty the meat to eat.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਖਾਧੈ ਜਾਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥੧॥
guramukh paaeeai naanakaa khaadhai jaeh bikaar |1|
As Gurmukh, these are obtained, O Nanak; partaking of them, one's sins depart. ||1||

Mardaanaa:
ਕਾਇਆ ਲਾਹਣਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਦੁ ਮਜਲਸ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਧਾਤੁ ॥
kaaeaa laahan aap mad majalas trisanaa dhaat |
The human body is the vat, self-conceit is the wine, and desire is the company of drinking buddies.
ਮਨਸਾ ਕਟੋਰੀ ਕੂੜਿ ਭਰੀ ਪੀਲਾਏ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ॥
manasaa kattoree koorr bharee peelaae jamakaal |
The cup of the mind's longing is overflowing with falsehood, and the Messenger of Death is the cup-bearer.
ਇਤੁ ਮਦਿ ਪੀਤੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਖਟੀਅਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
eit mad peetai naanakaa bahute khatteeeh bikaar |
Drinking in this wine, O Nanak, one takes on countless sins and corruptions.
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਗੁੜੁ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਮੰਡੇ ਭਉ ਮਾਸੁ ਆਹਾਰੁ ॥
giaan gurr saalaah mandde bhau maas aahaar |
So make spiritual wisdom your molasses, the Praise of God your bread, and the Fear of God the meat you eat.
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
naanak ihu bhojan sach hai sach naam aadhaar |2|
O Nanak, this is the true food; let the True Name be your only Support. ||2||
ਕਾਂਯਾਂ ਲਾਹਣਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਦੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਧਾਰ ॥
kaanyaan laahan aap mad amrit tis kee dhaar |
If the human body is the vat, and self-realization is the wine, then a stream of Ambrosial Nectar is produced.
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਮੇਲਾਪੁ ਹੋਇ ਲਿਵ ਕਟੋਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਰੀ ਪੀ ਪੀ ਕਟਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥੩॥
satasangat siau melaap hoe liv kattoree amrit bharee pee pee katteh bikaar |3|
Meeting with the Society of the Saints, the cup of the Lord's Love is filled with this Ambrosial Nectar; drinking it in, one's corruptions and sins are wiped away. ||3||

He Himself is the angelic being, the heavenly herald, and the celestial singer. He Himself is the one who explains the six schools of philosophy.
ਆਪੇ ਸਿਵ ਸੰਕਰ ਮਹੇਸਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
aape siv sankar mahesaa aape guramukh akath kahaanee |
He Himself is Shiva, Shankara and Mahaysh; He Himself is the Gurmukh, who speaks the Unspoken Speech.
ਆਪੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਆਪੇ ਭੋਗੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਫਿਰੈ ਬਿਬਾਣੀ ॥
aape jogee aape bhogee aape saniaasee firai bibaanee |
He Himself is the Yogi, He Himself is the Sensual Enjoyer, and He Himself is the Sannyaasee, wandering through the wilderness.
ਆਪੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੈ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਸਿਆਣੀ ॥

ਆਪਣਾ ਚੋਜੁ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੧੨॥
aapanaa choj kar vekhai aape aape sabhanaa jeea kaa hai jaanee |12|
Staging His own play, He Himself watches it; He Himself is the Knower of all beings. ||12||

Salok, Third Mehl:
ਏਹਾ ਸੰਧਿਆ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
ehaa sandhiaa paravaan hai jit har prabh meraa chit aavai |
That evening prayer alone is acceptable, which brings the Lord God to my consciousness.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਊਪਜੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਜਲਾਵੈ ॥
har siau preet aoopajai maaeaa mohu jalaavai |
Love for the Lord wells up within me, and my attachment to Maya is burnt away.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਰੈ ਮਨੂਆ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸੰਧਿਆ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
gur parasaadee dubidhaa marai manooaa asathir sandhiaa kare veechaar |
By Guru's Grace, duality is conquered, and the mind becomes stable; I have made contemplative meditation my evening prayer.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਧਿਆ ਕਰੈ ਮਨਮੁਖੀ ਜੀਉ ਨ ਟਿਕੈ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥੧॥
naanak sandhiaa karai manamukhee jeeo na ttikai mar jamai hoe khuaar |1|
O Nanak, the self-willed manmukh may recite his evening prayers, but his mind is not centered on it; through birth and death, he is ruined. ||1||

Third Mehl:
ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਕਰਤੀ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਫਿਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
priau priau karatee sabh jag firee meree piaas na jaae |
I wandered over the whole world, crying out, "Love, O Love!", but my thirst was not quenched.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਗਈ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਘਰਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
naanak satigur miliai meree piaas gee pir paaeaa ghar aae |2|
O Nanak, meeting the True Guru, my desires are satisfied; I found my Beloved, when I returned to my own home. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਤੰਤੁ ਪਰਮ ਤੰਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
aape tant param tant sabh aape aape tthaakur daas bheaa |
He Himself is the supreme essence, He Himself is the essence of all. He Himself is the Lord and Master, and He Himself is the servant.
ਆਪੇ ਦਸ ਅਠ ਵਰਨ ਉਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਆਪਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਆਪਿ ਰਾਜੁ ਲਇਆ ॥
aape das atth varan upaaeian aap braham aap raaj leaa |
He Himself created the people of the eighteen castes; God Himself acquired His domain.
ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਆਪੇ ਛੋਡੈ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਕਰੇ ਦਇਆ ॥
aape maare aape chhoddai aape bakhase kare deaa |
He Himself kills, and He Himself redeems; He Himself, in His Kindness, forgives us. He is infallible
ਆਪਿ ਅਭੁਲੁ ਨ ਭੁਲੈ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਤਪਾਵਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਥਿਆ ॥
aap abhul na bhulai kab hee sabh sach tapaavas sach thiaa |
- He never errs; the justice of the True Lord is totally True.
ਆਪੇ ਜਿਨਾ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਿਨ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ॥੧੩॥
aape jinaa bujhaae guramukh tin andarahu doojaa bharam geaa |13|
Those whom the Lord Himself instructs as Gurmukh - duality and doubt depart from within them. ||13||

Salok, Fifth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤੈ ਤਨਿ ਉਡੈ ਖੇਹ ॥
har naam na simareh saadhasang tai tan uddai kheh |
That body, which does not remember the Lord's Name in meditation in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, shall be reduced to dust.
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਿਸੈ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਫਿਟੁ ਅਲੂਣੀ ਦੇਹ ॥੧॥
jin keetee tisai na jaanee naanak fitt aloonee deh |1|
Cursed and insipid is that body, O Nanak, which does not know the One who created it. ||1||
