Now I describe the Buddha incarnation as to how the Lord assumed this form
ਬਊਧ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਇਹੀ ਕੋ ਨਾਊ ॥
baoodh avataar ihee ko naaoo |
ਜਾਕਰ ਨਾਵ ਨ ਥਾਵ ਨ ਗਾਊ ॥੧॥
jaakar naav na thaav na gaaoo |1|
Buddha incarnation is the name of that one, who has no name, no place and no villate.1.
ਜਾਕਰ ਨਾਵ ਨ ਠਾਵ ਬਖਾਨਾ ॥
jaakar naav na tthaav bakhaanaa |
ਬਊਧ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਵਹੀ ਪਹਚਾਨਾ ॥
baoodh avataar vahee pahachaanaa |
He, whose name and place are not described, he is only known as the Buddha incarnation
ਸਿਲਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਰੂਪ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
silaa saroop roop tih jaanaa |
ਕਥਾ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਕਲੂ ਮਹਿ ਮਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
kathaa na jaeh kaloo meh maanaa |2|
No one has accepted his sayings in the Iron Age, who visualizes the beauty only in stone (idols).2.

ਰੂਪ ਰੇਖ ਜਾਕਰ ਨ ਕਛੁ ਅਰੁ ਕਛੁ ਨਹਿਨ ਆਕਾਰ ॥

Neither he is beautiful nor he does any work
ਸਿਲਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਰਤਤ ਜਗਤ ਸੋ ਬਊਧ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥੩॥
silaa roop baratat jagat so baoodh avataar |3|
He considers the whole world like stone and calls himself the Buddha incarnation.3.

kaho kathaa chit laae bichar kai |
ਚਉਬੀਸਵੋ ਕਲਕੀ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ॥
chaubeesavo kalakee avataaraa |
ਤਾ ਕਰ ਕਹੋ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ਸੁਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥

Now, I purging my intellect, relate the story with full concentration of Kalki, the twenty –fourth incarnation and describe his episode, while emending it.1.
ਭਾਰਾਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਹੋਤ ਜਬ ਧਰਣੀ ॥

ਪਾਪ ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਕਛੁ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਬਰਣੀ ॥
paap grasat kachh jaat na baranee |
When the earth is pressed downward by the weight of sin and her suffering becomes indescribeable
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਨ ਹੋਤ ਉਤਪਾਤਾ ॥
bhaat bhaat tan hot utapaataa |
ਪੁਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਸੇਜਿ ਸੋਵਤ ਲੈ ਮਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
putreh sej sovat lai maataa |2|
Several types of crimes are committed and the mother sleeps for the sexual enjoyment with her son in the same bed.2.
ਸੁਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਤਨ ਰਮਤ ਨਿਸੰਕਾ ॥
sutaa pitaa tan ramat nisankaa |
ਭਗਨੀ ਭਰਤ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਕਹੁ ਅੰਕਾ ॥
bhaganee bharat bhraat kahu ankaa |
The daughter unhesitatingly enjoys with her father and the sister embraces her brother
ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਬਹਨ ਤਨ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
bhraat behan tan karat bihaaraa |
ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤਜੀ ਸਕਲ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੩॥

The brighter enjoys the body of the sister and the whole world relinquishes the wife/3.
ਸੰਕਰ ਬਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸਭ ਹੋਈ ॥
sankar baran prajaa sabh hoee |
ਏਕ ਗ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਕੋ ਰਹਾ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
ek grayaat ko rahaa na koee |
The whole subjects become hybrid and no one knows the other
ਅਤਿ ਬਿਭਚਾਰ ਫਸੀ ਬਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
at bibhachaar fasee bar naaree |
ਧਰਮ ਰੀਤ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
dharam reet kee preet bisaaree |4|
The beautiful women are engrossed in adultery and forget the real love and the traditions of religion.4.
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਝੂਠ ਅਮਸਿਆ ਭਈ ॥
ghar ghar jhootth amasiaa bhee |
ਸਾਚ ਕਲਾ ਸਸਿ ਕੀ ਦੁਰ ਗਈ ॥
saach kalaa sas kee dur gee |
In every home, in the dark night of falsehood, the phases of the moon of truth are hidden
ਜਹ ਤਹ ਹੋਨ ਲਗੇ ਉਤਪਾਤਾ ॥
jeh teh hon lage utapaataa |
ਭੋਗਤ ਪੂਤ ਸੇਜਿ ਚੜਿ ਮਾਤਾ ॥੫॥
bhogat poot sej charr maataa |5|
The crimes are committed everywhere and the son comes to the bed of his mother and enjoys her.5.
ਢੂੰਢਤ ਸਾਚ ਨ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਪਾਯਾ ॥
dtoondtat saach na katahoon paayaa |
ਝੂਠ ਹੀ ਸੰਗ ਸਬੋ ਚਿਤ ਲਾਯਾ ॥
jhootth hee sang sabo chit laayaa |
The truth is not seen even on search and the mind of everyone is absorbed in falsehood
ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਤ ਹੋਈ ॥
bhin bhin grih grih mat hoee |
ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛੁਐ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੬॥
saasatr simrit chhuai na koee |6|
In every home, there Shastras and Smritis.6.
ਹਿੰਦਵ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਤੁਰਕਾ ਰਹਿ ਹੈ ॥
hindav koee na turakaa reh hai |
ਭਿਨ ਭਿਨ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮਤ ਗਹਿ ਹੈ ॥
bhin bhin ghar ghar mat geh hai |
There will neither be a true Hindu nor a true Muslim, there will be diverse in every home
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਕੇ ਪੰਥ ਨ ਚਲਿ ਹੈ ॥
ek ek ke panth na chal hai |
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਉਥਲਿ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ek ek kee baat uthal hai |7|
On one will follow the established religious paths and will oppose the saying of each other.7.
ਭਾਰਾਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਰਾ ਸਬ ਹੁਇ ਹੈ ॥
bhaaraakrit dharaa sab hue hai |
ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਪਰ ਚਲੈ ਨ ਕੁਇ ਹੈ ॥
dharam karam par chalai na kue hai |
The earth will be pressed underneath with weight and no one will follow the follow the religious tenets
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਅਉਰ ਅਉਰ ਮਤ ਹੋਈ ॥
ghar ghar aaur aaur mat hoee |
ਏਕ ਧਰਮ ਪਰ ਚਲੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੮॥
ek dharam par chalai na koee |8|
There will be different beliefs in every home and no one will follow only one religion.8.

Pauree:
ਆਪੇ ਖਾਣੀ ਆਪੇ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਪੇ ਖੰਡ ਵਰਭੰਡ ਕਰੇ ॥
aape khaanee aape baanee aape khandd varabhandd kare |
He Himself created the four sources of creation, and He Himself fashioned speech; He Himself formed the worlds and solar systems.
ਆਪਿ ਸਮੁੰਦੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਤਨ ਧਰੇ ॥
aap samund aap hai saagar aape hee vich ratan dhare |
He Himself is the ocean, and He Himself is the sea; He Himself puts the pearls in it.
ਆਪਿ ਲਹਾਏ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰੇ ਹਰੇ ॥
aap lahaae kare jis kirapaa jis no guramukh kare hare |
By His Grace, the Lord enables the Gurmukh to find these pearls.
ਆਪੇ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਬੋਹਿਥਾ ਆਪੇ ਖੇਵਟੁ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੇ ॥
aape bhaujal aap hai bohithaa aape khevatt aap tare |
He Himself is the terrifying world-ocean, and He Himself is the boat; He Himself is the boatman, and He Himself ferries us across.
ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਕਰਤਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਤੁਝੈ ਸਰੇ ॥੯॥
aape kare karaae karataa avar na doojaa tujhai sare |9|
The Creator Himself acts, and causes us to act; no one else can equal You, Lord. ||9||

Salok, Third Mehl:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
satigur kee sevaa safal hai je ko kare chit laae |
Fruitful is service to the True Guru, if one does so with a sincere mind.
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
naam padaarath paaeeai achint vasai man aae |
The treasure of the Naam, is obtained, and the mind comes to be free of anxiety.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
janam maran dukh katteeai haumai mamataa jaae |
The pains of birth and death are eradicated, and the mind is rid of egotism and self-conceit.
ਉਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਚੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
autam padavee paaeeai sache rahai samaae |
One achieves the ultimate state, and remains absorbed in the True Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
naanak poorab jin kau likhiaa tinaa satigur miliaa aae |1|
O Nanak, the True Guru comes and meets those who have such pre-ordained destiny. ||1||

Third Mehl:
ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
naam rataa satiguroo hai kalijug bohith hoe |
The True Guru is imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord; He is the boat in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਵੈ ਜਿਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
guramukh hovai su paar pavai jinaa andar sachaa soe |
One who becomes Gurmukh crosses over; the True Lord dwells within him.
ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮੑਾਲੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
naam samaale naam sangrahai naame hee pat hoe |
He remembers the Naam, he gathers in the Naam, and he obtains honor through the Naam.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
naanak satigur paaeaa karam paraapat hoe |2|
Nanak has found the True Guru; by His Grace, the Name is obtained. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਧਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਆਪਿ ਕੀਤੋਨੁ ਕੰਚਨੁ ॥
aape paaras aap dhaat hai aap keeton kanchan |
He Himself is the Philosopher's Stone, He Himself is the metal, and He Himself is transformed into gold.
ਆਪੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਪ ਖੰਡਨੁ ॥
aape tthaakur sevak aape aape hee paap khanddan |
He Himself is the Lord and Master, He Himself is the servant, and He Himself is the Destroyer of sins.
ਆਪੇ ਸਭਿ ਘਟ ਭੋਗਵੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਭੁ ਅੰਜਨੁ ॥
aape sabh ghatt bhogavai suaamee aape hee sabh anjan |
He Himself enjoys every heart; the Lord Master Himself is the basis of all illusion.
ਆਪਿ ਬਿਬੇਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਸਭੁ ਬੇਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭੰਜਨੁ ॥
aap bibek aap sabh betaa aape guramukh bhanjan |
He Himself is the discerning one, and He Himself is the Knower of all; He Himself breaks the bonds of the Gurmukhs.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਨ ਰਜੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਵਡਨੁ ॥੧੦॥
jan naanak saalaeh na rajai tudh karate too har sukhadaataa vaddan |10|
Servant Nanak is not satisfied by merely praising You, O Creator Lord; You are the Great Giver of peace. ||10||

Salok, Fourth Mehl:
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਜੀਅ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨਾ ਜੇਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥
bin satigur seve jeea ke bandhanaa jete karam kamaeh |
Without serving the True Guru, the deeds which are done are only chains binding the soul.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਠਵਰ ਨ ਪਾਵਹੀ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
bin satigur seve tthavar na paavahee mar jameh aaveh jaeh |
Without serving the True Guru, they find no place of rest. They die, only to be born again - they continue coming and going.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਫਿਕਾ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
bin satigur seve fikaa bolanaa naam na vasai man aae |
Without serving the True Guru, their speech is insipid. They do not enshrine the Naam, the Name of the Lord, in the mind.
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
naanak bin satigur seve jam pur badhe maareeeh muhi kaalai utth jaeh |1|
O Nanak, without serving the True Guru, they are bound and gagged, and beaten in the City of Death; they depart with blackened faces. ||1||

Third Mehl:
ਇਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
eik satigur kee sevaa kareh chaakaree har naame lagai piaar |
Some wait upon and serve the True Guru; they embrace love for the Lord's Name.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਨਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੁਲ ਕਾ ਕਰਨਿ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
naanak janam savaaran aapanaa kul kaa karan udhaar |2|
O Nanak, they reform their lives, and redeem their generations as well. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਚਾਟਸਾਲ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਾਧਾ ਆਪੇ ਚਾਟੜੇ ਪੜਣ ਕਉ ਆਣੇ ॥
aape chaattasaal aap hai paadhaa aape chaattarre parran kau aane |
He Himself is the school, He Himself is the teacher, and He Himself brings the students to be taught.
ਆਪੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਕਰੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ॥
aape pitaa maataa hai aape aape baalak kare siaane |
He Himself is the father, He Himself is the mother, and He Himself makes the children wise.
ਇਕ ਥੈ ਪੜਿ ਬੁਝੈ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਇਕ ਥੈ ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਇਆਣੇ ॥
eik thai parr bujhai sabh aape ik thai aape kare eaane |
In one place, He teaches them to read and understand everything, while in another place, He Himself makes them ignorant.
ਇਕਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਜਾ ਆਪਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਸਚੇ ਭਾਣੇ ॥
eikanaa andar mehal bulaae jaa aap terai man sache bhaane |
Some, You summon to the Mansion of Your Presence within, when they are pleasing to Your Mind, O True Lord.
ਜਿਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਜਾਣੇ ॥੧੧॥
jinaa aape guramukh de vaddiaaee se jan sachee darageh jaane |11|
That Gurmukh, whom You have blessed with greatness - that humble being is known in Your True Court. ||11||
