Then Arjuna went on pilgrimage and he had a sight of Krishna in Dwarka
ਅਉਰ ਸੁਭਦ੍ਰਾ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

ਚਿਤ ਕੋ ਸੋਕ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੪੩੩॥

There he saw the charming Subhadra, which removed the gried of his mind.2433.
ਯਾ ਕੋ ਬਰੋ ਇਹੈ ਚਿਤ ਆਯੋ ॥
yaa ko baro ihai chit aayo |
ਉਹ ਕੋ ਉਤੈ ਚਿਤ ਲਲਚਾਯੋ ॥

Arjuna coveted to marry Subhadra
ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਬਾਤ ਸਭੈ ਇਹ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
jadupat baat sabhai ih jaanee |
ਬਰਿਓ ਚਹਤ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥੨੪੩੪॥

Krishna also came to know all about it that Arnuna wants to marry Subhadra.2434.

Calling Arjuna towards him, Krishna instructed him to abduct Subhadra and he would not wage a war with him.2435.

Then Arjuna did the same and he abducted the adorable Subhadra

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਪੈ ਆਇ ਪੁਕਰੇ ॥੨੪੩੬॥

Then all the Yadavas getting infuriated came to Krishna imploring him for help.2436.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਰਾਜ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥
sree brijaraaj tabai tin so kab sayaam kahai ih bhaat sunaaee |
Then Krishna said to those people.
ਬੀਰ ਬਡੇ ਤੁਮ ਹੂ ਹੋ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਜਾਇ ਮੰਡੋ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਰਾਈ ॥
beer badde tum hoo ho kahaavat jaae manddo tih sang laraaee |
“You people are known as great warriors you may go and fight with him
ਪਾਰਥ ਸੋ ਰਨ ਮਾਡਨ ਕਾਜ ਚਲੇ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹੀ ਨਿਜਕਾਈ ॥
paarath so ran maaddan kaaj chale tumaree mrit hee nijakaaee |
“If you are going to fight with Arjuna, then this means that your death has come very near
ਕਿਉ ਨ ਚਲੋ ਤੁਮ ਮੈ ਤਬ ਤੈ ਤਜਿਓ ਆਹਵ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਇਹੈ ਠਹਿਰਾਈ ॥੨੪੩੭॥
kiau na chalo tum mai tab tai tajio aahav sayaam ihai tthahiraaee |2437|
I have relinquished fighting earlier, therefore you may go and fight.”2437.

Then the warrior of Krishna went and they said to Arjuna,
ਸੁਨ ਰੇ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਤੋ ਤੇ ਡਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
sun re arajun to te ddar hai |
ਮਹਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਤੇਰੋ ਬਧਿ ਕਰਿ ਹੈ ॥੨੪੩੮॥
mahaa patit tero badh kar hai |2438|
“O Arjuna! we do not fear you, you are a great sinner, we shall kill you.”2438.

ਪੰਡੁ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਜਾਨੀ ਇਹੈ ਮਾਰਤ ਜਾਦਵ ਮੋਰ ॥

jeea aatur hoe sayaam keh chaliyo duaarakaa or |2439|
When Arjuna thought that the Yadavas would kill him, then he became agitated and started for Dwarka.2439.

ਸੂਕ ਗਯੋ ਮੁਖ ਪਾਰਥ ਕੋ ਮੁਸਲੀਧਰਿ ਜੀਤ ਜਬੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥
sook gayo mukh paarath ko musaleedhar jeet jabai grihi aayo |
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਸਮੋਧ ਕੀਓ ਅਰੇ ਪਾਰਥ ਕਿਉ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਡਰ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
sree brijanaath samodh keeo are paarath kiau chit mai ddar paayo |
On being conquered by the people of Krishna, when Arjuna reached Dwarka, then Krishna counseled him, “O Arjuna! why are you afraid so much in your mind?”
ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਸੁਭਦ੍ਰਾ ਕੋ ਕੀਨ ਤਬੈ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਮੁਸਲੀਧਰਿ ਕਉ ਸਮਝਾਯੋ ॥
bayaah subhadraa ko keen tabai jab hee musaleedhar kau samajhaayo |
ਦਾਜ ਦਯੋ ਜਿਹ ਪਾਰ ਨ ਪਇਯਤ ਲੈ ਤਿਹ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਧਾਮਿ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥੨੪੪੦॥
daaj dayo jih paar na peiyat lai tih arajun dhaam sidhaayo |2440|
Then he explained to Balram and got the marriage of Subhadra solemnised with Arjuna, a great dowry was given to Arjuna, who on its receipt started for his home.2440.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਪਾਰਥ ਸੁਭਦ੍ਰਾ ਕਉ ਹਰ ਕੇ ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਕਰਿ ਲਯਾਵਤ ਭਏ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥

ਅਥ ਮਿਥਲਾਪੁਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਰੁ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਨ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗੁ ਅਰੁ ਭਸਮਾਗਦ ਦੈਤ ਕੋ ਛਲ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੌ ਛਡਾਵਤ ਭਏ ॥

ਮਿਥਲ ਦੇਸ ਕੋ ਭੂਪ ਇਕ ਅਤਿਹੁਲਾਸ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ॥

There was a king of Mithila country, whose name was Atihulas
ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨ ਆਠੋ ਜਾਮ ॥੨੪੪੧॥
jadupat kee poojaa karai nis din aattho jaam |2441|
He used to worship and make offerings all the time to Krishna.2441.
ਮਤ ਕੇ ਦਿਜ ਇਕ ਥੋ ਤਹਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਲੇਇ ॥
mat ke dij ik tho tahaa bin har naam na lee |
There was a Brahmin there, who did not utter anything else except the Name of the Lord
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਬਾਤੈ ਕਰੈ ਤਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਚਿਤ ਦੇਇ ॥੨੪੪੨॥
jo har kee baatai karai taahee mai chit dee |2442|
He only used to talk about God and always remained absorbed in that in his mind.2442.

ਭੂਪਤਿ ਜਾਇ ਦਿਜੋਤਮ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਹੇਰਹਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ॥
bhoopat jaae dijotam ke grihi hereh sree brijanaath bichaarai |
ਅਉਰ ਕਛੂ ਨਹਿ ਬਾਤ ਕਰੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਦੋਊ ਸਾਝ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥
aaur kachhoo neh baat karai kab sayaam kahai doaoo saajh savaarai |
The king went to that Brahmin’s house and told about his intention of visiting Krishna and both of them did not talk anything else in mornings and evenings except Krishna.
ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਕਹੈ ਘਨਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਹੀ ਆਇ ਹੈ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਹੀ ਆਇ ਹੈ ਭੂਪ ਉਚਾਰੈ ॥
bipr kahai ghan sayaam hee aae hai sayaam hee aae hai bhoop uchaarai |
Brahmin said that Krishna would come and the king also said that Krishna would come
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਕੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਸੰਗ ਸਾਸ ਘਰੀ ਪੁਨਿ ਜਾਮਨ ਟਾਰੈ ॥੨੪੪੩॥
sree brij naaeik kee charachaa sang saas gharee pun jaaman ttaarai |2443|
In this way, they discussed about Krishna for hours together.2443.
ਭੂਪ ਦਿਜੋਤਮ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਜਬ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
bhoop dijotam kee at hee har joo man mai jab preet bichaaree |
Krishna sensed this love of the king and the Brahmin, and
ਮੇਰੇ ਹੈ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਪਰੇ ਇਹ ਅਉਰ ਕਥਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੀ ਜੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
mere hai dhiaan ke beech pare ih aaur kathaa grih kee ju bisaaree |
He thought that these people are only absorbed in his meditation leaving other domestic tasks
ਦਾਰੁਕ ਕਉ ਕਹਿ ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਪੈ ਜੁ ਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਤਿਹ ਓਰਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
daaruk kau keh sayandan pai ju karee prabh jee tih or savaaree |
He called his charioteer Daruk and caused his chariot to be driven to their side
ਸਾਧਨ ਜਾਇ ਸਨਾਥ ਕਰੋ ਅਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਇਹੈ ਜੀਅ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੨੪੪੪॥
saadhan jaae sanaath karo ab sree brijanaath ihai jeea dhaaree |2444|
He thought that he should gratify them by going within the sight of these helpless persons.2444.

Bihaagraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਖੋਜਤ ਸੰਤ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
khojat sant fireh prabh praan adhaare raam |
The Saints go around, searching for God, the support of their breath of life.
ਤਾਣੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੀਨ ਭਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਿਲਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
taan tan kheen bheaa bin milat piaare raam |
They lose the strength of their bodies, if they do not merge with their Beloved Lord.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਇਆ ਧਾਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ਲੀਜੀਐ ॥
prabh milahu piaare meaa dhaare kar deaa larr laae leejeeai |
O God, my Beloved, please, bestow Your kindness upon me, that I may merge with You; by Your Mercy, attach me to the hem of Your robe.
ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਜਪਉ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸ ਪੇਖੇ ਜੀਜੀਐ ॥
dehi naam apanaa jpau suaamee har daras pekhe jeejeeai |
Bless me with Your Name, that I may chant it, O Lord and Master; beholding the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, I live.
ਸਮਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਊਚ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥
samarath pooran sadaa nihachal aooch agam apaare |
He is all-powerful, perfect, eternal and unchanging, exalted, unapproachable and infinite.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਧਾਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥
binavant naanak dhaar kirapaa milahu praan piaare |1|
Prays Nanak, bestow Your Mercy upon me, O Beloved of my soul, that I may merge with You. ||1||
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਬਰਤ ਕੀਨੇ ਪੇਖਨ ਕਉ ਚਰਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
jap tap barat keene pekhan kau charanaa raam |
I have practiced chanting, intensive meditation and fasting, to see Your Feet, O Lord.
ਤਪਤਿ ਨ ਕਤਹਿ ਬੁਝੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
tapat na kateh bujhai bin suaamee saranaa raam |
But still, my burning is not quenched, without the Sanctuary of the Lord Master.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਾਟਿ ਬੇਰੀ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਾਰੀਐ ॥
prabh saran teree kaatt beree sansaar saagar taareeai |
I seek Your Sanctuary, God - please, cut away my bonds and carry me across the world-ocean.
ਅਨਾਥ ਨਿਰਗੁਨਿ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਣੁ ਅਉਗਣੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੀਐ ॥
anaath niragun kachh na jaanaa meraa gun aaugan na beechaareeai |
I am masterless, worthless, and I know nothing; please do not count up my merits and demerits.
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਮਰਥ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
deen deaal gopaal preetam samarath kaaran karanaa |
O Lord, Merciful to the meek, Sustainer of the world, O Beloved, Almighty Cause of causes.
ਨਾਨਕ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਹਰਿ ਬੂੰਦ ਮਾਗੈ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣਾ ॥੨॥
naanak chaatrik har boond maagai jap jeevaa har har charanaa |2|
Nanak, the song-bird, begs for the rain-drop of the Lord's Name; meditating on the Feet of the Lord, Har, Har, he lives. ||2||
ਅਮਿਅ ਸਰੋਵਰੋ ਪੀਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
amia sarovaro peeo har har naamaa raam |
Drink in the Ambrosial Nectar from the pool of the Lord; chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਪਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
santah sang milai jap pooran kaamaa raam |
In the Society of the Saints, one meets the Lord; meditating on Him, one's affairs are resolved.
ਸਭ ਕਾਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਬਿਦੀਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਬੀਸਰੈ ॥
sabh kaam pooran dukh bideeran har nimakh manahu na beesarai |
God is the One who accomplishes everything; He is the Dispeller of pain. Never forget Him from your mind, even for an instant.
ਆਨੰਦ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣ ਜਗਦੀਸਰੈ ॥
aanand anadin sadaa saachaa sarab gun jagadeesarai |
He is blissful, night and day; He is forever True. All Glories are contained in the Lord in the Universe.
ਅਗਣਤ ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਧਾਮਾ ॥
aganat aooch apaar tthaakur agam jaa ko dhaamaa |
Incalculable, lofty and infinite is the Lord and Master. Unapproachable is His home.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਛ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗ ਰਾਮਾ ॥੩॥
binavant naanak meree ichh pooran mile sreerang raamaa |3|
Prays Nanak, my desires are fulfilled; I have met the Lord, the Greatest Lover. ||3||
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿਕ ਜਗ ਫਲਾ ਸੁਣਿ ਗਾਵਨਹਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
kee kottik jag falaa sun gaavanahaare raam |
The fruits of many millions of charitable feasts come to those who listen to and sing the Lord's Praise.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਕੁਲ ਸਗਲੇ ਤਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
har har naam japat kul sagale taare raam |
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, all one's generations are carried across.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੋਹੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਿਤ ਗਨਾ ॥
har naam japat sohant praanee taa kee mahimaa kit ganaa |
Chanting the Name of the Lord, one is beautified; what Praises of His can I chant?
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਚਿਤਵੰਤਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸਦ ਮਨਾ ॥
har bisar naahee praan piaare chitavant darasan sad manaa |
I shall never forget the Lord; He is the Beloved of my soul. My mind constantly yearns for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan.
ਸੁਭ ਦਿਵਸ ਆਏ ਗਹਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਊਚ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥
subh divas aae geh kantth laae prabh aooch agam apaare |
Auspicious is that day, when God, the lofty, inaccessible and infinite, hugs me close in His embrace.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਫਲੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੬॥
binavant naanak safal sabh kichh prabh mile at piaare |4|3|6|
Prays Nanak, everything is fruitful - I have met my supremely beloved Lord God. ||4||3||6||
