ਜਗਿ ਤਹਾ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਬਸੁਦੇਵ ॥
jag tahaa kar kai chaliyo sayaam bhanai basudev |
ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਸੁਤ ਚਉਦਹ ਭਵਨ ਸਭ ਦੇਵਨ ਕੋ ਭੇਵ ॥੨੪੨੮॥
jih ko sut chaudah bhavan sabh devan ko bhev |2428|
Before leaving, Krishna performed a Yajna, because the son of Vasudev is the god of gods in all the fourteen worlds.2428.

ਚਲਿਯੋ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਢਾਈ ॥

ਪੂਜਿਯੋ ਚਰਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੇ ਜਾਈ ॥
poojiyo charan pitaa ke jaaee |
Krishna went away happily and on reaching his home, he worshipped the feet of his father
ਤਾਤ ਜਬੈ ਲਖਿ ਆਵਤ ਪਾਏ ॥
taat jabai lakh aavat paae |
ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਨ ਕੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਠਹਰਾਏ ॥੨੪੨੯॥
tribhavan ke karataa tthaharaae |2429|
When his father saw him coming, he recognised him as the creator of all the three worlds.2429.
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰੀ ॥
bahu bidh har kee usatat karee |
ਮੂਰਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਧਰੀ ॥
moorat har kee chit mai dharee |
He praised Krishna in various ways and established the figure of Krishna in his mind
ਆਪਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਖਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀਨੀ ॥
aapano prabh lakh poojaa keenee |
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਜਾਨ ਸਭ ਲੀਨੀ ॥੨੪੩੦॥
sree jadubeer jaan sabh leenee |2430|
Considering him his Lord-God, he worshipped him and Krishna also comprehended the whole mystery in his mind.2430.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕ ਪੈ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਚਲਿ ਦੇਵਕੀ ਆਈ ॥
sree brijanaaeik pai tab hee kab sayaam kahai chal devakee aaee |
ਚਉਦਹ ਲੋਕਨ ਕੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੁਮ ਸਤਿ ਇਹੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਠਹਰਾਈ ॥
chaudah lokan ke karataa tum sat ihai man mai tthaharaaee |
The poet Shyam says that then Devaki came to Krishna and considered him as the True Lord in her mind, as the creator of all the fourteen worlds,
ਹੋ ਮਧੁ ਕੀਟਭ ਕੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਬਧ ਐਸੇ ਕਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨਿ ਬਡਾਈ ॥
ho madh keettabh ke karataa badh aise karee har jaan baddaaee |
And the killer of Madhu and Kaitabh praising Krishna thus in her mind,
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਹਮਰੈ ਹਨੇ ਕੰਸ ਸੋਊ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਹੁ ਮੰਗਾਈ ॥੨੪੩੧॥
putr jite hamarai hane kans soaoo ham kau tum dehu mangaaee |2431|
She said, “O Lord! bring to me all our sons, who have been killed by Kansa.”2431.
ਆਨਿ ਦੀਏ ਬਲਿ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਮਾਇ ਕੇ ਬੈਨ ਜਬੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
aan dee bal lok te baalak maae ke bain jabai sun paae |
Hearing the worlds of his mother, the Lord (Krishna) brought all her sons from the nether-world,
ਦੇਵਕੀ ਬਾਲਕ ਜਾਨਿ ਤਿਨੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਉਠਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
devakee baalak jaan tinai kab sayaam kahai utth kantth lagaae |
Devaki also considering them her own sons, hugged them
ਜਨਮਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਭੀ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਹਮ ਬਾਮਨ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਬੈਨ ਸੁਨਾਏ ॥
janaman kee sudh bhee tin ke ham baaman hai ih bain sunaae |
Their consciousness about their birth also revived and they also came to know about their high lineage
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੂ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਤੇਊ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਓਰਿ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥੨੪੩੨॥
maat pitaa hoo ke dekhat hee teaoo braham ke lok kee or sidhaae |2432|
On seeing their parents, they all went to the abode of the Lord.2432.

ੴ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਵਧੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਰੈਨੜੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਲਗਾ ॥
vadh sukh rainarree pria prem lagaa |
O peaceful night, grow longer - I have come to enshrine love for my Beloved.
ਘਟੁ ਦੁਖ ਨੀਦੜੀਏ ਪਰਸਉ ਸਦਾ ਪਗਾ ॥
ghatt dukh needarree parsau sadaa pagaa |
O painful sleep, grow shorter, so that I may constantly grasp His Feet.
ਪਗ ਧੂਰਿ ਬਾਂਛਉ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਚਉ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਬੈਰਾਗਨੀ ॥
pag dhoor baanchhau sadaa jaachau naam ras bairaaganee |
I long for the dust of His Feet, and beg for His Name; for His Love, I have renounced the world.
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜ ਮਾਤੀ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਨੀ ॥
pria rang raatee sehaj maatee mahaa duramat tiaaganee |
I am imbued with the Love of my Beloved, and I am naturally intoxicated with it; I have forsaken my awful evil-mindedness.
ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੀਨੑੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭੀਨੀ ਮਿਲਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਚ ਮਗਾ ॥
geh bhujaa leenaee prem bheenee milan preetam sach magaa |
He has taken me by the arm, and I am saturated with His Love; I have met my Beloved on the Path of Truth.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਧਾਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਹਉ ਚਰਣਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਗਾ ॥੧॥
binavant naanak dhaar kirapaa rhau charanah sang lagaa |1|
Prays Nanak, please Lord, shower Your Mercy on me, that I may remain attached to Your Feet. ||1||
ਮੇਰੀ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਹੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਚਰਣਿ ਲਗਹ ॥
meree sakhee sahelarreeho prabh kai charan lagah |
O my friends and companions, let us remain attached to the Feet of God.
ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਘਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਮੰਗਹ ॥
man pria prem ghanaa har kee bhagat mangah |
Within my mind is great love for my Beloved; I beg for the Lord's devotional worship.
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਜਨਾ ॥
har bhagat paaeeai prabh dhiaaeeai jaae mileeai har janaa |
The Lord's devotional worship is obtained, meditating on God. Let us go and meet the humble servants of the Lord.
ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਕਾਰੁ ਤਜੀਐ ਅਰਪਿ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਮਨਾ ॥
maan mohu bikaar tajeeai arap tan dhan ihu manaa |
Renounce pride, emotional attachment and corruption, and dedicate this body, wealth and mind to Him.
ਬਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਭਗਹ ॥
badd purakh pooran gun sanpooran bhram bheet har har mil bhagah |
The Lord God is great, perfect, glorious, absolutely perfect; meeting the Lord, Har, Har, the wall of doubt is torn down.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਖੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਜਪਹ ॥੨॥
binavant naanak sun mantru sakhee har naam nit nit nit japah |2|
Prays Nanak, hear these teachings, O friends - chant the Lord's Name constantly, over and over again. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਣੇ ਸਭਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੇ ॥
har naar suhaagane sabh rang maane |
The Lord's bride is a happy wife; she enjoys all pleasures.
ਰਾਂਡ ਨ ਬੈਸਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਚਿਰਾਣੇ ॥
raandd na baisee prabh purakh chiraane |
She does not sit around like a widow, because the Lord God lives forever.
ਨਹ ਦੂਖ ਪਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਧੰਨਿ ਤੇ ਬਡਭਾਗੀਆ ॥
neh dookh paavai prabh dhiaavai dhan te baddabhaageea |
She does not suffer pain - she meditates on God. She is blessed, and very fortunate.
ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੋਵਹਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਖੋਵਹਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਾਗੀਆ ॥
sukh sehaj soveh kilabikh khoveh naam ras rang jaageea |
She sleeps in peaceful ease, her sins are erased, and she wakes to the joy and love of the Naam.
ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਹਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਹਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬਚਨ ਮੀਠੇ ਭਾਣੇ ॥
mil prem rahanaa har naam gahanaa pria bachan meetthe bhaane |
She remains absorbed in her Beloved - the Lord's Name is her ornament. The Words of her Beloved are sweet and pleasing to her.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨ ਇਛ ਪਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਚਿਰਾਣੇ ॥੩॥
binavant naanak man ichh paaee har mile purakh chiraane |3|
Prays Nanak, I have obtained my mind's desires; I have met my eternal Husband Lord. ||3||
ਤਿਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸੋਹਿਲੜੇ ਕੋਡ ਅਨੰਦਾ ॥
tit grihi sohilarre kodd anandaa |
The songs of bliss resound, and millions of pleasures are found in that house;
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥
man tan rav rahiaa prabh paramaanandaa |
the mind and body are permeated by God, the Lord of supreme bliss.
ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤ ਅਨੰਤ ਦਇਆਲ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣੋ ॥
har kant anant deaal sreedhar gobind patit udhaarano |
My Husband Lord is infinite and merciful; He is the Lord of wealth, the Lord of the Universe, the Saving Grace of sinners.
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਭੈ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਤਾਰਣੋ ॥
prabh kripaa dhaaree har muraaree bhai sindh saagar taarano |
God, the Giver of mercy, the Lord, the Destroyer of pride, carries us across the terrifying world-ocean of poison.
ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਵੈ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਦਾ ॥
jo saran aavai tis kantth laavai ihu birad suaamee sandaa |
The Lord lovingly embraces whoever comes to the Lord's Sanctuary - this is the way of the Lord and Master.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੰਦਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥
binavant naanak har kant miliaa sadaa kel karandaa |4|1|4|
Prays Nanak, I have met my Husband Lord, who plays with me forever. ||4||1||4||

Bihaagraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤਹ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਮਨਾ ॥
har charan sarovar teh karahu nivaas manaa |
The Lord's Feet are the Pools of Ambrosial Nectar; your dwelling is there, O my mind.
ਕਰਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਨਾਸੁ ਮਨਾ ॥
kar majan har sare sabh kilabikh naas manaa |
Take your cleansing bath in the Ambrosial Pool of the Lord, and all of your sins shall be wiped away, O my soul.
ਕਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਜਨੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਜਨੁ ਦੁਖ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਨਾਸੇ ॥
kar sadaa majan gobind sajan dukh andheraa naase |
Take your cleansing ever in the Lord God, O friends, and the pain of darkness shall be dispelled.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਕਟੈ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਫਾਸੇ ॥
janam maran na hoe tis kau kattai jam ke faase |
Birth and death shall not touch you, and the noose of Death shall be cut away.
ਮਿਲੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗੇ ਤਹਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸੋ ॥
mil saadhasange naam range tahaa pooran aaso |
So join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and be imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord; there, your hopes shall be fulfilled.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਧਾਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਨਿਵਾਸੋ ॥੧॥
binavant naanak dhaar kirapaa har charan kamal nivaaso |1|
Prays Nanak, shower Your Mercy upon me, O Lord, that I might dwell at Your Lotus Feet. ||1||
ਤਹ ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਸਦਾ ਅਨਹਦ ਝੁਣਕਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
teh anad binod sadaa anahad jhunakaaro raam |
There is bliss and ecstasy there always, and the unstruck celestial melody resounds there.
ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਜੈਕਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
mil gaaveh sant janaa prabh kaa jaikaaro raam |
Meeting together, the Saints sing God's Praises, and celebrate His Victory.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਖਸਮ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਰੰਗਿ ਭਿੰਨੀਆ ॥
mil sant gaaveh khasam bhaaveh har prem ras rang bhineea |
Meeting together, the Saints sing the Praises of the Lord Master; they are pleasing to the Lord, and saturated with the sublime essence of His love and affection.
ਹਰਿ ਲਾਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ਮਿਲੇ ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ॥
har laabh paaeaa aap mittaaeaa mile chiree vichhuniaa |
They obtain the profit of the Lord, eliminate their self-conceit, and meet Him, from whom they were separated for so long.
ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਦਇਆ ਕੀਨੑੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥
geh bhujaa leene deaa keenae prabh ek agam apaaro |
Taking them by the arm, He makes them His own; God, the One, inaccessible and infinite, bestows His kindness.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਰੁਣ ਝੁਣਕਾਰੋ ॥੨॥
binavant naanak sadaa niramal sach sabad run jhunakaaro |2|
Prays Nanak, forever immaculate are those who sing the Praises of the True Word of the Shabad. ||2||
ਸੁਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
sun vaddabhaageea har amrit baanee raam |
Listen, O most fortunate ones, to the Ambrosial Bani of the Word of the Lord.
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਰਮਿ ਲਿਖੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
jin kau karam likhee tis ridai samaanee raam |
He alone, whose karma is so pre-ordained, has it enter into his heart.
ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਤਿਨੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ॥
akath kahaanee tinee jaanee jis aap prabh kirapaa kare |
He alone knows the Unspoken Speech, unto whom God has shown His Mercy.
ਅਮਰੁ ਥੀਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਨ ਮੂਆ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸਾ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੇ ॥
amar theea fir na mooaa kal kalesaa dukh hare |
He becomes immortal, and shall not die again; his troubles, disputes and pains are dispelled.
ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਾਈ ਤਜਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
har saran paaee taj na jaaee prabh preet man tan bhaanee |
He finds the Sanctuary of the Lord; he does not forsake the Lord, and does not leave. God's Love is pleasing to his mind and body.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਈਐ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
binavant naanak sadaa gaaeeai pavitr amrit baanee |3|
Prays Nanak, sing forever the Sacred Ambrosial Bani of His Word. ||3||
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਗਲਤੁ ਭਏ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
man tan galat bhe kichh kehan na jaaee raam |
My mind and body are intoxicated - this state cannot be described.
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਅੜਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਲੀਆ ਸਮਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
jis te upajiarraa tin leea samaaee raam |
We originated from Him, and into Him we shall merge once again.
ਮਿਲਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜੋਤੀ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤੀ ਉਦਕੁ ਉਦਕਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
mil braham jotee ot potee udak udak samaaeaa |
I merge into God's Light, through and through, like water merging into water.
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਏਕੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਨਹ ਦੂਜਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆ ॥
jal thal maheeal ek raviaa neh doojaa drisattaaeaa |
The One Lord permeates the water, the land and the sky - I do not see any other.
ਬਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
ban trin tribhavan poor pooran keemat kehan na jaaee |
