ਬਡੇ ਜਸਹਿ ਪਾਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਮਨਿ ਦੈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ॥
badde jaseh paavat bhayo man dai sree jadubeer |
ਜੋ ਕਟੀਆ ਸਿਰ ਦੁਰਜਨਨ ਹਰਤਾ ਸਾਧਨ ਪੀਰ ॥੨੦੮੪॥
jo katteea sir durajanan harataa saadhan peer |2084|
On returning the jewel, Krishna, the chopper of the heads fo the tyrants and remover of the afflictions of the saints, earned infinite approbation.2084.

When the jewel was given to Akrur, then Krishna thought of going to Delhi

ਤਬ ਕੁੰਤੀ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਗਏ ਕੁਸਲ ਪੂਛਿਓ ਜਾਇ ॥

Then he went to the home of Kunti to enquire about the welfare of the family
ਜੋ ਦੁਖ ਇਨ ਕੈਰਵਿ ਦਏ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਦਏ ਬਤਾਇ ॥੨੦੮੬॥
jo dukh in kairav de so sabh de bataae |2086|
Kunti told him about all the sufferings experienced at the hands of Kaurvas.2086.
ਇੰਦ੍ਰਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਮੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਜੂ ਰਹੇ ਮਾਸ ਜਬ ਚਾਰ ॥
eindraprasat mai krisan joo rahe maas jab chaar |
ਤਬ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਕੋ ਸੰਗ ਲੈ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਚੜੇ ਸਿਕਾਰ ॥੨੦੮੭॥

After staying for four months in Indraprastha, one day Krishna went to hunting alongwith Arjuna.2087.

The side in which there were many animals of prey, Krishna went towards that
ਗੋਇਨ ਸੂਕਰ ਰੀਛ ਬਡੇ ਬਹੁ ਚੀਤਰੁ ਅਉਰ ਸਸੇ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
goein sookar reechh badde bahu cheetar aaur sase bahu maare |
He killed the nilgais, pigs, bears, leopards and many rabbits
ਗੈਂਡੇ ਹਨੇ ਮਹਿਖਾਸ ਕੇ ਮਤ ਕਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਸਿੰਘਨ ਝੁੰਡਹਿ ਝਾਰੇ ॥
gaindde hane mahikhaas ke mat karee ar singhan jhunddeh jhaare |
The rhinoceros, the intoxicated elephant of the forest and the lions were killed
ਨੈਕੁ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਰਹੀ ਨ ਪਰੈ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰ ਜਿਨੋ ਸਰ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥੨੦੮੮॥
naik sanbhaar rahee na parai bisanbhaar jino sar sayaam prahaare |2088|
On whomsoever Krishna struck a blow, he could not endure that blow and fell unconscious.2088.
ਪਾਰਥ ਕੋ ਸੰਗ ਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਬਨ ਮੋ ਧਸਿ ਕੈ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਘਾਏ ॥
paarath ko sang lai prabh joo ban mo dhas kai bahute mrig ghaae |
Taking Arjuna with him, Krishna penetrating into the forest killed many deer
ਏਕ ਹਨੇ ਕਰਵਾਰਿਨ ਸੋ ਤਕਿ ਏਕਨ ਕੇ ਤਨਿ ਬਾਨ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
ek hane karavaarin so tak ekan ke tan baan lagaae |
Many were killed with the sword and many by hitting their bodies with arrows
ਅਸ੍ਵਨ ਕੋ ਦਵਰਾਇ ਭਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਕੂਕਰ ਤੇਊ ਹਨੇ ਜੁ ਪਰਾਏ ॥
asvan ko davaraae bhajaae kai kookar teaoo hane ju paraae |
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਕੇ ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਜੇ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਜਤ ਭੇ ਤੇਊ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥੨੦੮੯॥
sree brijanaath ke agraj je utth bhaajat bhe teaoo jaan na paae |2089|
Causing their horses to run and releasing the dogs, the fleeing animals were killed and in this way, none could save himself from Krishna by fleeing.2089.
ਪਾਰਥ ਏਕ ਹਨੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਵਾ ਇਕ ਆਪਹਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਘਾਏ ॥
paarath ek hane mrigavaa ik aapeh sree brij naaeik ghaae |
ਜੇ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਜਤ ਭੇ ਬਨ ਮੈ ਸੋਊ ਕੂਕਰ ਡਾਰਿ ਸਬੈ ਗਹਿਵਾਏ ॥
je utth bhaajat bhe ban mai soaoo kookar ddaar sabai gahivaae |
One deer was killed by Arjuna and one by Krishna himself a d those who were fleeing were got seized by releasing the dogs
ਤੀਤਰ ਜੇ ਉਡਿ ਕੈ ਨਭਿ ਓਰਿ ਗਏ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਜ ਚਲਾਏ ॥

ਚੀਤਨ ਏਕ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਾ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜਮਲੋਕਿ ਪਠਾਏ ॥੨੦੯੦॥
cheetan ek mrigaa geh kai kab sayaam kahai jamalok patthaae |2090|
Krishna sent the falcons for the flying partridges in the sky and in this way, the falcons caught their prey and threw it down after killing it.2090.
ਬੇਸਰੇ ਅਉਰ ਕੁਹੀ ਬਹਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਬਾਜ ਜੁਰੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸੰਗ ਲੀਨੇ ॥
besare aaur kuhee bahiree ar baaj jure bahute sang leene |
ਬਾਸੇ ਘਨੇ ਲਗਰਾ ਚਰਗੇ ਸਿਕਰੇਨ ਕੋ ਫੇਟ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੀਨੇ ॥
baase ghane lagaraa charage sikaren ko fett bhalee bidh keene |
They took with them the falcons of the species of Shahins (Besare, Kuhi and Behri) and also the falcons of the species of hawks (Lagra, Charak and Shikra)
ਧੂਤੀ ਉਕਾਬ ਬਸੀਨਨ ਕੋ ਸਜਿ ਕੰਠਿਜ ਗੋਲਿਨ ਦ੍ਵਾਲ ਨਵੀਨੇ ॥
dhootee ukaab baseenan ko saj kantthij golin dvaal naveene |
ਜਾ ਸੰਗ ਹੇਰਿ ਚਲਾਵਤ ਭੇ ਤਿਨ ਪਛਿਨ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਦੀਨੇ ॥੨੦੯੧॥
jaa sang her chalaavat bhe tin pachhin te ik jaan na deene |2091|
In a similar way, they bedecked the eagles (Dharut and Ukab) and took them alongwith them and to whichever bird, they made the target and sent these birds of prey, they did not let them escape.2091.
ਪਾਰਥ ਅਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਜਬ ਐਸੋ ਸਿਕਾਰ ਕੀਓ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
paarath aau prabh joo mil kai jab aiso sikaar keeo sukh paayo |
ਆਪਸ ਮੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਦੁਹੂ ਅਤਿ ਹੇਤੁ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
aapas mai kab sayaam bhanai tih tthaur duhoo at het badtaayo |
In this way, Krishna and Arjuna together obtained the delight of hunting and they mutually increased their love for each other
ਅਉ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕੋ ਜਲ ਪੀਵਨ ਕੋ ਮਨੁ ਅਉਸਰ ਤਉਨ ਸੁ ਹੈ ਲਲਚਾਯੋ ॥
aau duhoon ko jal peevan ko man aausar taun su hai lalachaayo |
Now they desired in their mind to drink water and come towards the stream
ਛੋਰਿ ਅਖੇਟਕ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਜਮਨਾ ਤਟਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੨੦੯੨॥
chhor akhettak deen duhoon chal kai prabh joo jamanaa tatt aayo |2092|
Both of them left hunting and went towards the bank of Yamuna.2092.
ਜਾਤ ਹੁਤੇ ਜਲ ਪੀਵਨ ਕੇ ਹਿਤ ਤਉ ਹੀ ਲਉ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
jaat hute jal peevan ke hit tau hee lau sundar naar nihaaree |
When they were coming for drinking water, they saw there a beautiful woman
ਪੂਛਹੁ ਕੋ ਹੈ ਕਹਾ ਇਹ ਦੇਸੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਰਥ ਯੌ ਗਿਰਿਧਾਰੀ ॥
poochhahu ko hai kahaa ih des kahiyo sang paarath yau giridhaaree |
Krishna asked Arjuna to enquire about the woman
ਆਇਸ ਮਾਨਿ ਪੁਰੰਦਰ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਬਾਤ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
aaeis maan purandar ko su bhayo tih ke sang baat uchaaree |
ਕਉਨ ਕੀ ਬੇਟੀ ਹੈ ਦੇਸ ਕਹਾ ਤੁਹਿ ਕੋ ਤੋਹਿ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਤੂ ਕਉਨ ਕੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੨੦੯੩॥
kaun kee bettee hai des kahaa tuhi ko tohi bhraat too kaun kee naaree |2093|
Arjuna, according to the desire of Krishna, asked her, “O woman! Whose daughter are you? which is your country? Whose sister you are and whose wife you are?2093.
ਜਮੁਨਾ ਬਾਚ ਅਰਜਨੁ ਸੋ ॥

ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਬਰ ਹੀ ਚਾਹਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਤਪੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਮੈ ਆਇ ॥੨੦੯੪॥
jadupat bar hee chaeh chit tap keeno mai aae |2094|
Then Yamuna said to Arjuna, “My heart desired me to wed Krishna, therefore I have performed austerities here.”2094.

ਨਿਰਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਚਾਈ ॥
nirat karee ihu man nachaaee |
I dance, and make this mind dance as well.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
gur parasaadee aap gavaaee |
By Guru's Grace, I eliminate my self-conceit.
ਚਿਤੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋ ਇਛੀ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
chit thir raakhai so mukat hovai jo ichhee soee fal paaee |1|
One who keeps his consciousness focused on the Lord is liberated; he obtains the fruits of his desires. ||1||
ਨਾਚੁ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਆਗੈ ॥
naach re man gur kai aagai |
So dance, O mind, before your Guru.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਤਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਜਮ ਭਉ ਭਾਗੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur kai bhaanai naacheh taa sukh paaveh ante jam bhau bhaagai | rahaau |
If you dance according to the Guru's Will, you shall obtain peace, and in the end, the fear of death shall leave you. ||Pause||
ਆਪਿ ਨਚਾਏ ਸੋ ਭਗਤੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਲਾਏ ॥
aap nachaae so bhagat kaheeai aapanaa piaar aap laae |
One whom the Lord Himself causes to dance, is called a devotee. He Himself links us to His Love.
ਆਪੇ ਗਾਵੈ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਅੰਧੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥
aape gaavai aap sunaavai is man andhe kau maarag paae |2|
He Himself sings, He Himself listens, and He puts this blind mind on the right path. ||2||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਚੈ ਸਕਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ਸਿਵ ਘਰਿ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
anadin naachai sakat nivaarai siv ghar need na hoee |
One who dances night and day, and banishes Shakti's Maya, enters the House of the Lord Shiva, where there is no sleep.
ਸਕਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਸੂਤਾ ਨਾਚੈ ਟਾਪੈ ਅਵਰੋ ਗਾਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥
sakatee ghar jagat sootaa naachai ttaapai avaro gaavai manamukh bhagat na hoee |3|
The world is asleep in Maya, the house of Shakti; it dances, jumps and sings in duality. The self-willed manmukh has no devotion. ||3||
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਵਿਰਤਿ ਪਖਿ ਕਰਮੀ ਨਾਚੇ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
sur nar virat pakh karamee naache mun jan giaan beechaaree |
The angels, mortals, renunciates, ritualists, silent sages and beings of spiritual wisdom dance.
ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਨਾਚੇ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
sidh saadhik liv laagee naache jin guramukh budh veechaaree |4|
The Siddhas and seekers, lovingly focused on the Lord, dance, as do the Gurmukhs, whose minds dwell in reflective meditation. ||4||
ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਚੇ ਜਿਨ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
khandd brahamandd trai gun naache jin laagee har liv tumaaree |
The planets and solar systems dance in the three qualities, as do those who bear love for You, Lord.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਚੇ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਖਾਣੀ ਚਾਰੀ ॥੫॥
jeea jant sabhe hee naache naacheh khaanee chaaree |5|
The beings and creatures all dance, and the four sources of creation dance. ||5||
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਸੇਈ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥
jo tudh bhaaveh seee naacheh jin guramukh sabad liv laae |
They alone dance, who are pleasing to You, and who, as Gurmukhs, embrace love for the Word of the Shabad.
ਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੇ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਏ ॥੬॥
se bhagat se tat giaanee jin kau hukam manaae |6|
They are devotees, with the essence of spiritual wisdom, who obey the Hukam of His Command. ||6||
ਏਹਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
ehaa bhagat sache siau liv laagai bin sevaa bhagat na hoee |
This is devotional worship, that one loves the True Lord; without service, one cannot be a devotee.
ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ਤਾ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੭॥
jeevat marai taa sabad beechaarai taa sach paavai koee |7|
If one remains dead while yet alive, he reflects upon the Shabad, and then, he obtains the True Lord. ||7||
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੈ ਅਰਥਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਚੇ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
maaeaa kai arath bahut lok naache ko viralaa tat beechaaree |
So many people dance for the sake of Maya; how rare are those who contemplate reality.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੮॥
gur parasaadee soee jan paae jin kau kripaa tumaaree |8|
By Guru's Grace, that humble being obtains You, Lord, upon whom You show Mercy. ||8||
ਇਕੁ ਦਮੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਸਾ ਵੇਲਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
eik dam saachaa veesarai saa velaa birathaa jaae |
If I forget the True Lord, even for an instant, that time passes in vain.
ਸਾਹਿ ਸਾਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲੀਐ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੯॥
saeh saeh sadaa samaaleeai aape bakhase kare rajaae |9|
With each and every breath, constantly remember the Lord; He Himself shall forgive you, according to His Will. ||9||
ਸੇਈ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
seee naacheh jo tudh bhaaveh ji guramukh sabad veechaaree |
They alone dance, who are pleasing to Your Will, and who, as Gurmukhs, contemplate the Word of the Shabad.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੧੦॥੧॥੬॥
kahu naanak se sehaj sukh paaveh jin kau nadar tumaaree |10|1|6|
Says Nanak, they alone find celestial peace, whom You bless with Your Grace. ||10||1||6||

har bin jeearaa reh na sakai jiau baalak kheer adhaaree |
Without the Lord, my soul cannot survive, like an infant without milk.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
agam agochar prabh guramukh paaeeai apune satigur kai balihaaree |1|
The inaccessible and incomprehensible Lord God is obtained by the Gurmukh; I am a sacrifice to my True Guru. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੀ ॥

O my mind, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praise is a boat to carry you across.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guramukh naam amrit jal paaeeai jin kau kripaa tumaaree | rahaau |
The Gurmukhs obtain the Ambrosial Water of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. You bless them with Your Grace. ||Pause||
ਸਨਕ ਸਨੰਦਨ ਨਾਰਦ ਮੁਨਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਪਤ ਰਹਹਿ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥
sanak sanandan naarad mun seveh anadin japat raheh banavaaree |
Sanak, Sanandan and Naarad the sage serve You; night and day, they continue to chant Your Name, O Lord of the jungle.
ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ ਜਨ ਆਏ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
saranaagat prahalaad jan aae tin kee paij savaaree |2|
Slave Prahlaad sought Your Sanctuary, and You saved his honor. ||2||
ਅਲਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਏਕਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥
alakh niranjan eko varatai ekaa jot muraaree |
The One unseen immaculate Lord is pervading everywhere, as is the Light of the Lord.
ਸਭਿ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਤੂ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਹਾਥ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
sabh jaachik too eko daataa maageh haath pasaaree |3|
All are beggars, You alone are the Great Giver. Reaching out our hands, we beg from You. ||3||
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਆਰੀ ॥
bhagat janaa kee aootam baanee gaaveh akath kathaa nit niaaree |
The speech of the humble devotees is sublime; they sing continually the wondrous, Unspoken Speech of the Lord.
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੇਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
safal janam bheaa tin keraa aap tare kul taaree |4|
Their lives become fruitful; they save themselves, and all their generations. ||4||
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਬਿਆਪੇ ਜਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੋਹ ਗੁਬਾਰੀ ॥
manamukh dubidhaa duramat biaape jin antar moh gubaaree |
The self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in duality and evil-mindedness; within them is the darkness of attachment.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਨ ਭਾਵੈ ਓਇ ਡੂਬੇ ਸਣੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੀ ॥੫॥
sant janaa kee kathaa na bhaavai oe ddoobe san paravaaree |5|
They do not love the sermon of the humble Saints, and they are drowned along with their families. ||5||
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਮਲਭਖੁ ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ॥
nindak nindaa kar mal dhovai ohu malabhakh maaeaadhaaree |
By slandering, the slanderer washes the filth off others; he is an eater of filth, and a worshipper of Maya.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰੀ ॥੬॥
sant janaa kee nindaa viaape naa uravaar na paaree |6|
He indulges in the slander of the humble Saints; he is neither on this shore, nor the shore beyond. ||6||
ਏਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਕਰਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
ehu parapanch khel keea sabh karatai har karatai sabh kal dhaaree |
All this worldly drama is set in motion by the Creator Lord; He has infused His almighty strength into all.
ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਸੂਤੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਜੁਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੂਤੁ ਖਿੰਚੈ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੀ ॥੭॥
har eko soot varatai jug antar soot khinchai ekankaaree |7|
The thread of the One Lord runs through the world; when He pulls out this thread, the One Creator alone remains. ||7||
ਰਸਨਿ ਰਸਨਿ ਰਸਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
rasan rasan ras gaaveh har gun rasanaa har ras dhaaree |
With their tongues, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and savor Them. They place the sublime essence of the Lord upon their tongues, and savor it.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਮਾਗਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੮॥੧॥੭॥
naanak har bin avar na maagau har ras preet piaaree |8|1|7|
O Nanak, other than the Lord, I ask for nothing else; I am in love with the Love of the Lord's sublime essence. ||8||1||7||
