ਚਮੱਕਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣੰ ॥

The sword of KAL glistens
ਅਭੂਤੰ ਭਯਾਣੰ ॥
abhootan bhayaanan |
Which is Non-elemental and terrible.
ਧੁਨੰ ਨੇਵਰਾਣੰ ॥
dhunan nevaraanan |
While moving his anklets rattle
ਘੁਰੰ ਘੁੰਘਰਾਣੰ ॥੩੧॥
ghuran ghungharaanan |31|
And the small bells jingle.31.
ਚਤੁਰ ਬਾਂਹ ਚਾਰੰ ॥
chatur baanh chaaran |
He hath four winsome arms and on his head
ਨਿਜੂਟੰ ਸੁਧਾਰੰ ॥
nijoottan sudhaaran |
His long hair have been bound in a lovely knot.
ਗਦਾ ਪਾਸ ਸੋਹੰ ॥
gadaa paas sohan |
The mace with him appears splendid
ਜਮੰ ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹੰ ॥੩੨॥
jaman maan mohan |32|
Which fascinate the honour of Yama.32.
ਸੁਭੰ ਜੀਭ ਜੁਆਲੰ ॥
subhan jeebh juaalan |
His tongue red like fire seems magnificent
ਸੁ ਦਾੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਾਲੰ ॥
su daarrhaa karaalan |
And his grinder teeth are very frightening.
ਬਜੀ ਬੰਬ ਸੰਖੰ ॥
bajee banb sankhan |
His conches and drums resound
ਉਠੇ ਨਾਦ ਬੰਖੰ ॥੩੩॥
autthe naad bankhan |33|
Like the thundering sound of the sea. 33.
ਸੁਭੰ ਰੂਪ ਸਿਆਮੰ ॥
subhan roop siaaman |
His dark form looks elegant
ਮਹਾ ਸੋਭ ਧਾਮੰ ॥
mahaa sobh dhaaman |
And is the abode of Great Glory.
ਛਬੇ ਚਾਰੁ ਚਿਤ੍ਰੰ ॥
chhabe chaar chitran |
On his face there are lovely delineations
ਪਰੇਅੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੰ ॥੩੪॥

BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA
ਸਿਰੰ ਸੇਤ ਛਤ੍ਰੰ ਸੁ ਸੁਭ੍ਰੰ ਬਿਰਾਜੰ ॥
siran set chhatran su subhran biraajan |
On his head there swings the beautiful lustrous and white canopy
ਲਖੇ ਛੈਲ ਛਾਯਾ ਕਰੇ ਤੇਜ ਲਾਜੰ ॥
lakhe chhail chhaayaa kare tej laajan |
Seeing whose shadow and considering it winsome , the light feels abashed.
ਬਿਸਾਲਾਲ ਨੈਨੰ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਸੋਹੰ ॥
bisaalaal nainan mahaaraaj sohan |
The fleshy and red eyes of the God seem magnificent
ਢਿਗੰ ਅੰਸੁਮਾਲੰ ਹਸੰ ਕੋਟ ਕ੍ਰੋਹੰ ॥੩੫॥
dtigan ansumaalan hasan kott krohan |35|
Before whose light millions of suns appear irritated. 35.
ਕਹੂੰ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਸੋਹੰ ॥
kahoon roop dhaare mahaaraaj sohan |
Somewhere He appears impressive in the semblance of a Great King
ਕਹੂੰ ਦੇਵ ਕੰਨਿਆਨ ਕੇ ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹੰ ॥
kahoon dev kaniaan ke maan mohan |
Somewhere He allures the minds of apsaras or the daughters of gods.
ਕਹੂੰ ਬੀਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਧਰੇ ਬਾਨ ਪਾਨੰ ॥
kahoon beer hvai kai dhare baan paanan |
Somewhere as a warrior He holds the bow in his hand
ਕਹੂੰ ਭੂਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਬਜਾਏ ਨਿਸਾਨੰ ॥੩੬॥
kahoon bhoop hvai kai bajaae nisaanan |36|
Somewhere as a king he causes the resounding of his trumpets.36.

ਧਨੁਰ ਬਾਨ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
dhanur baan dhaare |
He seems bedecked beautifully
ਛਕੇ ਛੈਲ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
chhake chhail bhaare |
Wielding his bow and arrows.
ਲਏ ਖੱਗ ਐਸੇ ॥
le khag aise |
He holds the sword
ਮਹਾਂ ਬੀਰ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੩੭॥
mahaan beer jaise |37|
Like a great warrior. 37.
ਜੁਰੇ ਜੰਗ ਜੋਰੰ ॥
jure jang joran |
He is forcefully engaged in war
ਕਰੇ ਜੁੱਧ ਘੋਰੰ ॥
kare judh ghoran |
Fighting frightening battles.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਦਿਆਲੰ ॥
kripaa nidh diaalan |
He is the treasure of mercy
ਸਦਾਯੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੰ ॥੩੮॥
sadaayan kripaalan |38|
And ever kind.38.
ਸਦਾ ਏਕ ਰੂਪੰ ॥
sadaa ek roopan |
He is always the same (Kinds Lord)
ਸਭੈ ਲੋਕ ਭੂਪੰ ॥
sabhai lok bhoopan |
And the monarch of all.
ਅਜੇਯੰ ਅਜਾਯੰ ॥
ajeyan ajaayan |
He is Unconquerable and birthless
ਸਰਣਿਅੰ ਸਹਾਯੰ ॥੩੯॥
saranian sahaayan |39|
And helps those who come under His refuge.39.
ਤਪੈ ਖੱਗ ਪਾਨੰ ॥
tapai khag paanan |
The sword shines in His hand
ਮਹਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਦਾਨੰ ॥
mahaan lok daanan |
And He is a Great Donor for the people.
ਭਵਿਖਿਅੰ ਭਵੇਅੰ ॥
bhavikhian bhavean |
I salute the Supreme KAL
ਨਮੋ ਨਿਰਜੁਰੇਅੰ ॥੪੦॥
namo nirajurean |40|
Who is unique in the present and shall be unique in future. 40.
ਮਧੋ ਮਾਨ ਮੁੰਡੰ ॥
madho maan munddan |
He is the effacer of the pride of the demon Madhu
ਸੁਭੰ ਰੁੰਡ ਝੁੰਡੰ ॥
subhan rundd jhunddan |
And the destroyer of the demon Sumbh.
ਸਿਰੰ ਸੇਤ ਛੱਤ੍ਰੰ ॥

He hath white canopy over His head
ਲਸੰ ਹਾਥ ਅੱਤ੍ਰੰ ॥੪੧॥

And the weapons glisten in His hands.41.
ਸੁਣੇ ਨਾਦ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
sune naad bhaaree |
Hearing His loud voice
ਤ੍ਰਸੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ॥
trase chhatradhaaree |
The great monarchs are frightened.
ਦਿਸਾ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਰਾਜੰ ॥
disaa basatr raajan |
He wears elegantly the garments of directions
ਸੁਣੇ ਦੋਖ ਭਾਜੰ ॥੪੨॥
sune dokh bhaajan |42|
And listening to His voice the sorrows run away. 42.
ਸੁਣੇ ਗੱਦ ਸੱਦੰ ॥
sune gad sadan |
Hearing His call
ਅਨੰਤੰ ਬਿਹੱਦੰ ॥
anantan bihadan |
The infinite happiness is attained.
ਘਟਾ ਜਾਣੁ ਸਿਆਮੰ ॥
ghattaa jaan siaaman |
He is Shyam in the form of clouds
ਦੁਤੰ ਅਭਿਰਾਮੰ ॥੪੩॥
dutan abhiraaman |43|
And appears beautiful and impressive.43.
ਚਤੁਰ ਬਾਹੁ ਚਾਰੰ ॥
chatur baahu chaaran |
He hath four beautiful arms
ਕਰੀਟੰ ਸੁ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
kareettan su dhaaran |
And is wearing crown on the head.
ਗਦਾ ਸੰਖ ਚੱਕ੍ਰੰ ॥
gadaa sankh chakran |
The mace conch and disc glisten
ਦਿਪੈ ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਬਕ੍ਰੰ ॥੪੪॥
dipai kraoor bakran |44|
And seem frightful and resplendent. 44.

NARAAJ STANZA
ਅਨੂਪ ਰੂਪ ਰਾਜਿਅੰ ॥

The unique beauty appears graceful
ਨਿਹਾਰ ਕਾਮੁ ਲਾਜਿਅੰ ॥
nihaar kaam laajian |
And on seeing it the Cupid seems ashamed.
ਅਲੋਕ ਲੋਕ ਸੋਭਿਅੰ ॥
alok lok sobhian |
In the worlds it has supernatural radiance
ਬਿਲੋਕ ਲੋਕ ਲੋਭਿਅੰ ॥੪੫॥
bilok lok lobhian |45|
Seeting whichall the people are fascinated. 45.
ਚਮੱਕ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੀਸਿਯੰ ॥

The moon is bearning on his head
ਰਹਿਓ ਲਜਾਇ ਈਸਯੰ ॥
rahio lajaae eesayan |
Seeing which the god Shiva feels shy.
ਸੁ ਸੋਭ ਨਾਗ ਭੂਖਣੰ ॥
su sobh naag bhookhanan |
The ornaments of Nagas bedeck his neck.
ਅਨੇਕ ਦੁਸਟ ਦੂਖਣੰ ॥੪੬॥
anek dusatt dookhanan |46|
Which have the power of destruction for the tyrants. 46.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣ ਪਾਣ ਧਾਰੀਅੰ ॥

He who wields the sword in his hand
ਕਰੋਰ ਪਾਪ ਟਾਰੀਅੰ ॥
karor paap ttaareean |
He is the remover of millions of sins.
ਗਦਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਸਟ ਪਾਣਿਅੰ ॥
gadaa grisatt paanian |
He hath caught hold of the big mace
ਕਮਾਣ ਬਾਣ ਤਾਣਿਅੰ ॥੪੭॥
kamaan baan taanian |47|
And hath fitted the arrow in his stretched bow.47.
ਸਬਦ ਸੰਖ ਬੱਜਿਅੰ ॥
sabad sankh bajian |
There is sound of the blowing conch
ਘਣੰਕਿ ਘੁੰਘਰ ਗੱਜਿਅੰ ॥
ghanank ghunghar gajian |
And jingling of many small bells.
ਸਰਨ ਨਾਥ ਤੋਰੀਅੰ ॥
saran naath toreean |
O Lord I have come under Thy Refuge
ਉਬਾਰ ਲਾਜ ਮੋਰੀਅੰ ॥੪੮॥
aubaar laaj moreean |48|
Protect my honour.48.
ਅਨੇਕ ਰੂਪ ਸੋਹੀਅੰ ॥
anek roop soheean |
Thou appearest impressive in various forms
ਬਿਸੇਖ ਦੇਵ ਮੋਹੀਅੰ ॥
bisekh dev moheean |
And gods and are the treasure of the Grace alone.
ਅਦੇਵ ਦੇਵ ਦੇਵਲੰ ॥
adev dev devalan |
Thou art the worshipping temple of the demons
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਕੇਵਲੰ ॥੪੯॥
kripaa nidhaan kevalan |49|
And gods and are the treasure of the Grace alone . 49.
ਸੁ ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤ ਏਕਿਅੰ ॥
su aad ant ekian |
He remain uniform from the beginning to end
ਧਰੇ ਸੁ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੇਕਿਅੰ ॥
dhare su roop anekian |
And hath adopted various forms.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣ ਪਾਣ ਰਾਜਈ ॥
kripaan paan raajee |
The sword appears impressive in his hand
ਬਿਲੋਕ ਪਾਪ ਭਾਜਈ ॥੫੦॥
bilok paap bhaajee |50|
Seeing which the sins run away.50.
ਅਲੰਕ੍ਰਿਤੰ ਸੁ ਦੇਹਯੰ ॥
alankritan su dehayan |
His body is bedecked with ornaments
ਤਨੋ ਮਨੋ ਕਿ ਮੋਹਯੰ ॥
tano mano ki mohayan |
Which allures both body and mind.
ਕਮਾਣ ਬਾਣ ਧਾਰਹੀ ॥
kamaan baan dhaarahee |
The arrow is fitted in the bow
ਅਨੇਕ ਸੱਤ੍ਰੁ ਟਾਰਹੀ ॥੫੧॥
anek satru ttaarahee |51|
Which causes many enemies to flee away.51.
ਘਮੱਕਿ ਘੁੰਘਰੰ ਸੁਰੰ ॥
ghamak ghungharan suran |
There is the jingling sound of the small bells
ਨਵੰ ਨਿਨਾਦ ਨੂਪਰੰ ॥
navan ninaad nooparan |
And a new sound emanates from the anklets.
ਪ੍ਰਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਬਿੱਜੁਲੰ ਜ੍ਵਲੰ ॥
prajvaal bijulan jvalan |
There is light like the blazing fire and lightning
ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਰਮਲੰ ॥੫੨॥
pavitr param niramalan |52|
Which is highly holy and pure.52.

ਕਿਆ ਤੂ ਰਤਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥
kiaa too rataa dekh kai putr kalatr seegaar |
Why are you so thrilled by the sight of your son and your beautifully decorated wife?
ਰਸ ਭੋਗਹਿ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਰੰਗ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
ras bhogeh khuseea kareh maaneh rang apaar |
You enjoy tasty delicacies, you have lots of fun, and you indulge in endless pleasures.
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਸੀ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਫਾਰ ॥
bahut kareh furamaaeisee varateh hoe afaar |
You give all sorts of commands, and you act so superior.
ਕਰਤਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਅੰਧ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧॥
karataa chit na aavee manamukh andh gavaar |1|
The Creator does not come into the mind of the blind, idiotic, self-willed manmukh. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥
mere man sukhadaataa har soe |
O my mind, the Lord is the Giver of peace.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parasaadee paaeeai karam paraapat hoe |1| rahaau |
By Guru's Grace, He is found. By His Mercy, He is obtained. ||1||Pause||
ਕਪੜਿ ਭੋਗਿ ਲਪਟਾਇਆ ਸੁਇਨਾ ਰੁਪਾ ਖਾਕੁ ॥
kaparr bhog lapattaaeaa sueinaa rupaa khaak |
People are entangled in the enjoyment of fine clothes, but gold and silver are only dust.
ਹੈਵਰ ਗੈਵਰ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੇ ਕੀਏ ਰਥ ਅਥਾਕ ॥
haivar gaivar bahu range kee rath athaak |
They acquire beautiful horses and elephants, and ornate carriages of many kinds.
ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਹੀ ਬਿਸਰਿਆ ਸਭ ਸਾਕ ॥
kis hee chit na paavahee bisariaa sabh saak |
They think of nothing else, and they forget all their relatives.
ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਨਾਪਾਕ ॥੨॥
sirajanahaar bhulaaeaa vin naavai naapaak |2|
They ignore their Creator; without the Name, they are impure. ||2||
ਲੈਦਾ ਬਦ ਦੁਆਇ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਇਕਤ ॥
laidaa bad duaae toon maaeaa kareh ikat |
Gathering the wealth of Maya, you earn an evil reputation.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂੰ ਪਤੀਆਇਦਾ ਸੋ ਸਣੁ ਤੁਝੈ ਅਨਿਤ ॥
jis no toon pateeaeidaa so san tujhai anit |
Those whom you work to please shall pass away along with you.
ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀਆ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ॥
ahankaar kareh ahankaareea viaapiaa man kee mat |
The egotistical are engrossed in egotism, ensnared by the intellect of the mind.
ਤਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਪਤਿ ॥੩॥
tin prabh aap bhulaaeaa naa tis jaat na pat |3|
One who is deceived by God Himself, has no position and no honor. ||3||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਇਕੋ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
satigur purakh milaaeaa iko sajan soe |
The True Guru, the Primal Being, has led me to meet the One, my only Friend.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਣਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਇ ॥
har jan kaa raakhaa ek hai kiaa maanas haumai roe |
The One is the Saving Grace of His humble servant. Why should the proud cry out in ego?
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਦਰਿ ਫੇਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
jo har jan bhaavai so kare dar fer na paavai koe |
As the servant of the Lord wills, so does the Lord act. At the Lord's Door, none of his requests are denied.
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਭ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੭੧॥
naanak rataa rang har sabh jag meh chaanan hoe |4|1|71|
Nanak is attuned to the Love of the Lord, whose Light pervades the entire Universe. ||4||1||71||

ਮਨਿ ਬਿਲਾਸੁ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਘਣਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਭੂਲਿ ਖੁਸੀਆ ॥
man bilaas bahu rang ghanaa drisatt bhool khuseea |
With the mind caught up in playful pleasures, involved in all sorts of amusements and sights that stagger the eyes, people are led astray.
ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰ ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹੀਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਹਸੇ ਪਰੀਆ ॥੧॥
chhatradhaar baadisaaheea vich sahase pareea |1|
The emperors sitting on their thrones are consumed by anxiety. ||1||
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
bhaaee re sukh saadhasang paaeaa |
O Siblings of Destiny, peace is found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਬਿਧਾਤੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
likhiaa lekh tin purakh bidhaatai dukh sahasaa mitt geaa |1| rahaau |
If the Supreme Lord, the Architect of Destiny, writes such an order, then anguish and anxiety are erased. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇਤੇ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਾ ਤੇਤੇ ਭਵਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
jete thaan thanantaraa tete bhav aaeaa |
There are so many places-I have wandered through them all.
ਧਨ ਪਾਤੀ ਵਡ ਭੂਮੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
dhan paatee vadd bhoomeea meree meree kar pariaa |2|
The masters of wealth and the great land-lords have fallen, crying out, "This is mine! This is mine!" ||2||
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਚਲਾਏ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੈ ਅਫਰਿਆ ॥
hukam chalaae nisang hoe varatai afariaa |
They issue their commands fearlessly, and act in pride.
ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਖਾਕੁ ਰਲਿਆ ॥੩॥
sabh ko vasagat kar leon bin naavai khaak raliaa |3|
They subdue all under their command, but without the Name, they are reduced to dust. ||3||
ਕੋਟਿ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਦਰਿ ਖਰਿਆ ॥
kott tetees sevakaa sidh saadhik dar khariaa |
Even those who are served by the 33 million angelic beings, at whose door the Siddhas and the Saadhus stand,
ਗਿਰੰਬਾਰੀ ਵਡ ਸਾਹਬੀ ਸਭੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਪਨੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੪॥੨॥੭੨॥
giranbaaree vadd saahabee sabh naanak supan theea |4|2|72|
who live in wondrous affluence and rule over mountains, oceans and vast dominions-O Nanak, in the end, all this vanishes like a dream! ||4||2||72||
