ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਇਮ ਰਾਧਿਕਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਹੀ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਮੈ ਤਰੋ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਗਹਿ ਹੈ ॥
har joo im raadhikaa sang kahee jamunaa mai taro tum ko geh hai |
Krishna said to Radha, “Your swim in Yamuna and I shall catch you
ਜਲ ਮੈ ਹਮ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੈਗੇ ਸੁਨੋ ਰਸ ਬਾਤ ਸਭੈ ਸੁ ਤਹਾ ਕਹਿ ਹੈ ॥
jal mai ham kel karaige suno ras baat sabhai su tahaa keh hai |
We will perform acts of love in water and shall also talk to you there everything about love
ਜਿਹ ਓਰ ਨਿਹਾਰ ਬਧੂ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੀ ਲਲਚਾਇ ਮਨੈ ਪਿਖਿਬੋ ਚਹਿ ਹੈ ॥
jih or nihaar badhoo brij kee lalachaae manai pikhibo cheh hai |
“When the women of Braja will see you here covetously,
ਪਹੁਚੈਗੀ ਨਹਿ ਤਹ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਏ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਤੁਮ ਰੀਝਤ ਹਾਰਹਿ ਹੈ ॥੭੫੧॥
pahuchaigee neh teh gvaaran e ham hoon tum reejhat haareh hai |751|
They will not be able to reach upto this place, we will remain there delightfully.”751.
ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਜਲ ਪੈਠਨ ਕੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
brikhabhaan sutaa har ke mukh te jal paitthan kee bateeyaa sun paaee |
ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਜਾਇ ਪਰੀ ਸਰ ਮੈ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥਿ ਬਡਾਈ ॥
dhaae kai jaae paree sar mai kar kai at hee brijanaath baddaaee |
Hearing the words of Krishna, about going within the water, Radha ran and jumped in water
ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਪਾਛੈ ਤੇ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਪਰੇ ਕਬਿ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਇਹ ਆਈ ॥
taahee ke paachhai te sayaam pare kab ke man mai upamaa ih aaee |
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਬਾਜ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਪਿਖਿ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰਿ ਕੋ ਜਿਉ ਮੁਰਗਾਈ ॥੭੫੨॥
maanahu sayaam joo baaj pariyo pikh kai brij naar ko jiau muragaaee |752|
Krishna followed her and according to the poet it seemed that in order to catch the Radha-bird, Krishna-falcon pounced upon her.752.
ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਤਬੈ ਧਸਿ ਕੈ ਜਲਿ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੋਊ ਤਬ ਜਾਇ ਗਹੀ ॥
brijanaath tabai dhas kai jal mai brij naar soaoo tab jaae gahee |
Swimming in water, Krishna caught hold of Radha ,surrendering her body to Krishna,
ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਤਨ ਭੇਟ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਗਿਨਤੀ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਜਲ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਹੀ ॥
har ko tan bhett hulaas badtiyo ginatee man kee jal bhaat bahee |
The joy of Radha was increased and the illusions of her mind flowed away like water
ਜੋਊ ਆਨੰਦ ਬੀਚ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਮਨ ਕੈ ਕਬਿ ਤਉ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਥਾ ਭਾਖਿ ਕਹੀ ॥
joaoo aanand beech badtiyo man kai kab tau mukh te kathaa bhaakh kahee |
The bliss enhanced in her mind and according to the poet,
ਪਿਖਿਯੋ ਜਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਸੋਊ ਰੀਝ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਪਿਖਿ ਕੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਜਿਹ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ॥੭੫੩॥
pikhiyo jin hoon soaoo reejh rahiyo pikh kai jamunaa jih reejh rahee |753|
Whosoever saw her, he was allured, Yamuna was also charmed.753.
ਜਲ ਤੇ ਕਢਿ ਕੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਸੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਰਾਸ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
jal te kadt kai fir gvaaran so kab sayaam kahai fir raas machaayo |
Coming out of water, Krishna again began to engross himself in the passionate and
ਗਾਵਤ ਭੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
gaavat bhee brikhabhaan sutaa at hee man bheetar aanand paayo |
Amorous play alongwith the gopis, Radha, with great joy in her mind, began to sing
ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰਿਨ ਸੋ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਜੂ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਮੈ ਇਕ ਤਾਨ ਬਸਾਯੋ ॥
brij naarin so mil kai brijanaath joo saarang mai ik taan basaayo |
ਸੋ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਆਵਤ ਧਾਵਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨੀਆ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੭੫੪॥
so sun kai mrig aavat dhaavat gvaaraneea sun kai sukh paayo |754|
Together with the women of Braja, Krishna played upon a tune in the musical mode of Sarang, hearing which the deer came running and the gopis also felt pleased.754.

ਸਤ੍ਰਹ ਸੈ ਪੈਤਾਲ ਮੈ ਕੀਨੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਧਾਰ ॥

ਚੂਕ ਹੋਇ ਜਹ ਤਹ ਸੁ ਕਬਿ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਸਕਲ ਸੁਧਾਰ ॥੭੫੫॥
chook hoe jeh teh su kab leejahu sakal sudhaar |755|
In Samvat 1745, the story of this poet was improved and if there is any error and omission in it, then the poets may still improve it.755.
ਬਿਨਤਿ ਕਰੋ ਦੋਊ ਜੋਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਨੋ ਜਗਤ ਕੇ ਰਾਇ ॥
binat karo doaoo jor kar suno jagat ke raae |
ਮੋ ਮਸਤਕ ਤ੍ਵ ਪਗ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਭਾਇ ॥੭੫੬॥
mo masatak tv pag sadaa rahai daas ke bhaae |756|
I request folding both my hands, O the Lord of the world! Thy servent may ever have this wish that my forehead may always remain in love with Thy feet.756.

din poojaa ko aae lagiyo tih ko joaoo gvaaraneeyaa at kai hit sevee |
The goddess whom the gopis had worshipped, her day of worship arrived
ਜਾ ਰਿਪ ਸੁੰਭ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜਗ ਮਾਤ ਅਭੇਵੀ ॥
jaa rip sunbh nisunbh mariyo kab sayaam kahai jag maat abhevee |
She was the same goddess who had killed the demons named Sumbh and Nisumbh and who is known is the world as the undistinguishable mother
ਨਾਸ ਭਏ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਜਨ ਸੋ ਜਿਨਹੂ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਨਹਿ ਸੇਵੀ ॥
naas bhe jag mai jan so jinahoo man mai kup kai neh sevee |
Those people who have not remembered her, they were destroyed in the world
ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਹੇਤ ਚਲੇ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਰਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਗੋਪ ਸੁ ਪੂਜਨ ਦੇਵੀ ॥੭੫੭॥
taahee ke het chale taj kai pur gvaarin gop su poojan devee |757|
The gopis and gopas are all going out of the city in order to worship her.757.
ਆਠ ਭੁਜਾ ਜਿਹ ਕੀ ਜਗਿ ਮਾਲੁਮ ਸੁੰਭ ਸੰਘਾਰਨਿ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਸੀ ਕੋ ॥
aatth bhujaa jih kee jag maalum sunbh sanghaaran naam jisee ko |
ਸਾਧਨ ਦੋਖਨ ਕੀ ਹਰਤਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਨ ਮਾਨਤ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਕਿਸੀ ਕੋ ॥
saadhan dokhan kee harataa kab sayaam na maanat traas kisee ko |
She, who has eight arms and is the killer of Sumbh, who is the remover of the sufferings of saints and is fearless,
ਸਾਤ ਅਕਾਸ ਪਤਾਲਨ ਸਾਤਨ ਫੈਲ ਰਹਿਓ ਜਸ ਨਾਮੁ ਇਸੀ ਕੋ ॥
saat akaas pataalan saatan fail rahio jas naam isee ko |
Whose fame is spread in all the seven heavens and the nether-world
ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਪੂਜਨ ਦ︀ਯੋਸ ਲਗਿਓ ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਚਲੇ ਹਿਤ ਮਾਨਿ ਤਿਸੀ ਕੋ ॥੭੫੮॥
taahee ko poojan dayos lagio sabh gop chale hit maan tisee ko |758|
All the gopas are going today in order to worship her.758.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਜਿਨਿ ਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਖਾਇਆ ॥
jin laaee preet soee fir khaaeaa |
One who loves her, is ultimately devoured.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਬੈਠਾਲੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
jin sukh baitthaalee tis bhau bahut dikhaaeaa |
One who seats her in comfort, is totally terrified by her.
ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਬਾਦੇ ॥
bhaaee meet kuttanb dekh bibaade |
Siblings, friends and family, beholding her, argue.
ਹਮ ਆਈ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੇ ॥੧॥
ham aaee vasagat gur parasaade |1|
But she has come under my control, by Guru's Grace. ||1||
ਐਸਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋਏ ॥
aisaa dekh bimohit hoe |
Beholding her, all are bewitched:
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸੁਰਦੇਵ ਮਨੁਖਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭਿ ਧ੍ਰੋਹਨਿ ਧ੍ਰੋਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saadhik sidh suradev manukhaa bin saadhoo sabh dhrohan dhrohe |1| rahaau |
the strivers, the Siddhas, the demi-gods, angels and mortals. All, except the Saadhus, are deceived by her deception. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਤਿਨੑ ਕਾਮਿ ਵਿਆਪੈ ॥
eik fireh udaasee tina kaam viaapai |
Some wander around as renunciates, but they are engrossed in sexual desire.
ਇਕਿ ਸੰਚਹਿ ਗਿਰਹੀ ਤਿਨੑ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਆਪੈ ॥
eik sancheh girahee tina hoe na aapai |
Some grow rich as householders, but she does not belong to them.
ਇਕਿ ਸਤੀ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਨੑ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਲਪਾਵੈ ॥
eik satee kahaaveh tina bahut kalapaavai |
Some call themselves men of charity, and she torments them terribly.
ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਲਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
ham har raakhe lag satigur paavai |2|
The Lord has saved me, by attaching me to the Feet of the True Guru. ||2||
ਤਪੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਤਪਸੀ ਭੂਲਾਏ ॥
tap karate tapasee bhoolaae |
She leads astray the penitents who practice penance.
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਹੇ ਲੋਭਿ ਸਬਾਏ ॥
panddit mohe lobh sabaae |
The scholarly Pandits are all seduced by greed.
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮੋਹੇ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਆਕਾਸੁ ॥
trai gun mohe mohiaa aakaas |
The world of the three qualities is enticed, and the heavens are enticed.
ਹਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਰਾਖੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ॥੩॥
ham satigur raakhe de kar haath |3|
The True Guru has saved me, by giving me His Hand. ||3||
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੀ ਦਾਸਿ ॥
giaanee kee hoe varatee daas |
She is the slave of those who are spiritually wise.
ਕਰ ਜੋੜੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
kar jorre sevaa kare aradaas |
With her palms pressed together, she serves them and offers her prayer:
ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਹਿ ਸੁ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਾ ॥
jo toon kaheh su kaar kamaavaa |
"Whatever you wish, that is what I shall do."
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਾ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan naanak guramukh nerr na aavaa |4|1|
O servant Nanak, she does not draw near to the Gurmukh. ||4||1||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਸੂ ਤੇ ਪਿਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਵਾਖਿ ॥
sasoo te pir keenee vaakh |
I have been separated from my Beloved by Maya (my mother-in-law).
ਦੇਰ ਜਿਠਾਣੀ ਮੁਈ ਦੂਖਿ ਸੰਤਾਪਿ ॥
der jitthaanee muee dookh santaap |
Hope and desire (my younger brother-in-law and sister-in-law) are dying of grief.
ਘਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਠੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਚੂਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ॥
ghar ke jitthere kee chookee kaan |
I am no longer swayed by the fear of Death (my elder brother-in-law).
ਪਿਰਿ ਰਖਿਆ ਕੀਨੀ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣਿ ॥੧॥
pir rakhiaa keenee sugharr sujaan |1|
I am protected by my All-knowing, Wise Husband Lord. ||1||
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਲੋਕਾ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
sunahu lokaa mai prem ras paaeaa |
Listen, O people: I have tasted the elixir of love.
ਦੁਰਜਨ ਮਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
durajan maare vairee sanghaare satigur mo kau har naam divaaeaa |1| rahaau |
The evil ones are dead, and my enemies are destroyed. The True Guru has given me the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
prathame tiaagee haumai preet |
First, I renounced my egotistical love of myself.
ਦੁਤੀਆ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਲੋਗਾ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
duteea tiaagee logaa reet |
Second, I renounced the ways of the world.
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਮੀਤ ਸਮਾਨੇ ॥
trai gun tiaag durajan meet samaane |
Renouncing the three qualities, I look alike upon friend and enemy.
ਤੁਰੀਆ ਗੁਣੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਛਾਨੇ ॥੨॥
tureea gun mil saadh pachhaane |2|
And then, the fourth state of bliss was revealed to me by the Holy One. ||2||
ਸਹਜ ਗੁਫਾ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਬਾਧਿਆ ॥
sehaj gufaa meh aasan baadhiaa |
In the cave of celestial bliss, I have obtained a seat.
ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਵਾਜਿਆ ॥
jot saroop anaahad vaajiaa |
The Lord of Light plays the unstruck melody of bliss.
ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
mahaa anand gurasabad veechaar |
I am in ecstasy, contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤੀ ਧਨ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
pria siau raatee dhan sohaagan naar |3|
Imbued with my Beloved Husband Lord, I am the blessed, happy soul-bride. ||3||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
jan naanak bole braham beechaar |
Servant Nanak chants the wisdom of God;
ਜੋ ਸੁਣੇ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥
jo sune kamaavai su utarai paar |
one who listens and practices it, is carried across and saved.
ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
janam na marai na aavai na jaae |
He is not born, and he does not die; he does not come or go.
ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਓਹੁ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੨॥
har setee ohu rahai samaae |4|2|
He remains blended with the Lord. ||4||2||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਿਜ ਭਗਤੀ ਸੀਲਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
nij bhagatee seelavantee naar |
The bride shows such special devotion, and has such an agreeable disposition.
ਰੂਪਿ ਅਨੂਪ ਪੂਰੀ ਆਚਾਰਿ ॥
roop anoop pooree aachaar |
Her beauty is incomparable, and her character is perfect.
ਜਿਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਵਸੈ ਸੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤਾ ॥
jit grihi vasai so grihu sobhaavantaa |
The house in which she dwells is such a praiseworthy house.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਜੰਤਾ ॥੧॥
guramukh paaee kinai viralai jantaa |1|
But rare are those who, as Gurmukh, attain that state||1||
ਸੁਕਰਣੀ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਮ ਪਾਈ ॥
sukaranee kaaman gur mil ham paaee |
As the soul-bride of pure actions, I have met with the Guru.
ਜਜਿ ਕਾਜਿ ਪਰਥਾਇ ਸੁਹਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaj kaaj parathaae suhaaee |1| rahaau |
In worship, marriage and in the next world, such a soul-bride looks beautiful. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਚਰੁ ਵਸੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
jichar vasee pitaa kai saath |
As long as she lived with her father,
ਤਿਚਰੁ ਕੰਤੁ ਬਹੁ ਫਿਰੈ ਉਦਾਸਿ ॥
tichar kant bahu firai udaas |
her Husband wandered around in sadness.
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਨਾਇਆ ॥
kar sevaa sat purakh manaaeaa |
I served and surrendered to the Lord, the True Being;
ਗੁਰਿ ਆਣੀ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
gur aanee ghar meh taa sarab sukh paaeaa |2|
the Guru brought my bride to my home, and I obtained total happiness. ||2||
ਬਤੀਹ ਸੁਲਖਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਤਤਿ ਪੂਤ ॥
bateeh sulakhanee sach santat poot |
She is blessed with all sublime attributes,
ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਸੁਘੜ ਸਰੂਪ ॥
aagiaakaaree sugharr saroop |
And her generations are unblemished.
ਇਛ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
eichh poore man kant suaamee |
Her Husband, her Lord and Master, fulfills her heart's desires.
ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਦੇਰ ਜੇਠਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
sagal santokhee der jetthaanee |3|
Hope and desire (my younger brother-in-law and sister-in-law) are now totally content. ||3||
ਸਭ ਪਰਵਾਰੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਰੇਸਟ ॥
sabh paravaarai maeh saresatt |
She is the most noble of all the family.
ਮਤੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਰ ਜੇਸਟ ॥
matee devee devar jesatt |
She counsels and advises her hope and desire.
ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀ ਆਇ ॥
dhan su grihu jit pragattee aae |
How blessed is that household, in which she has appeared.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥੪॥੩॥
jan naanak sukhe sukh vihaae |4|3|
O servant Nanak, she passes her time in perfect peace and comfort. ||4||3||
