ਨਿਸਿ ਏਕ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸਿ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਤ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਮਹਿ ਨ੍ਰਹਾਵਨ ਕਾਜੈ ॥

On the twelfth lunar night, the father of Krishna went to take a bath in Yamuna
ਆਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਜਲ ਮੈ ਬਰੁਨੰ ਗਜ ਕੋਪਿ ਗਹਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਜੋਰਿ ਸਮਾਜੈ ॥
aaeh pario jal mai barunan gaj kop gahiyo sabh jor samaajai |
He took off his clothes and entered the water the attendants of Varuna got infuriated
ਬਾਧ ਚਲੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਬਰੁਨੰ ਪਹਿ ਕਾਨਰ ਕੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੀ ਕੁਪਿ ਗਾਜੈ ॥
baadh chale sang lai barunan peh kaanar ke bin hee kup gaajai |
ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਠਾਢਿ ਕਰਿਓ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਨ ਲਯੋ ਦਰੀਆਵਨ ਰਾਜੈ ॥੪੦੯॥
jaae kai tthaadt kario jab hee pahichaan layo dareeaavan raajai |409|
They arrested Nand and proceeded to take him to Varuna, thundering in rage and when they presented him before Varuna, he was recognized by Varuna, the king of the river.409.
ਨੰਦ ਬਿਨਾ ਪੁਰਿ ਸੁੰਨ ਭਯੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਪਹਿ ਆਏ ॥
nand binaa pur sun bhayo sabh hee mil kai har jee peh aae |
In the absence of Nand, the whole city was deserted
ਆਇ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਕਰੇ ਪਰ ਪਾਇਨ ਨੰਦ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਦਿਕ ਤੇ ਘਿਘਿਆਏ ॥
aae pranaam kare par paaein nand triyaadik te ghighiaae |
All the residents went together to meet Krishna all of them bowed before him and touched his feet and all the women and others beseeched him earnestly
ਕੈ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਨ ਸੋ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕੋ ਆਇ ਰਿਝਾਏ ॥
kai bahu bhaatan so binatee kar kai bhagavaan ko aae rijhaae |
They prayed before him in many ways and pleased him
ਮੋ ਪਤਿ ਆਜ ਗਏ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਹਮ ਢੂੰਢਿ ਰਹੇ ਕਹੂੰਐ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਏ ॥੪੧੦॥
mo pat aaj ge utth kai ham dtoondt rahe kahoonai nahee paae |410|
They said, “We have tried to find out Nand (at many places), but have not been able to locate him.”410.

ਤਾਤ ਕਹਿਓ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਜਸੁਧਾ ਪਹਿ ਤਾਤ ਲਿਆਵਨ ਕੌ ਹਮ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥
taat kahio has kai jasudhaa peh taat liaavan kau ham jai hai |
ਸਾਤ ਅਕਾਸ ਪਤਾਲ ਸੁ ਸਾਤਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਜਹੀ ਤਹ ਜਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਲਿਯੈ ਹੈ ॥
saat akaas pataal su saateh jaae jahee teh jaahee te liyai hai |
Krishna said smilingly to Yashoda, “I shall go to bring my father and bring him back, searching all the seven skies and seven nether-worlds, wherever he is
ਜੌ ਮਰ ਗਿਓ ਤਉ ਜਾ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਪੁਰਿ ਅਯੁਧ ਲੈ ਕੁਪਿ ਭਾਰਥ ਕੈ ਹੈ ॥
jau mar gio tau jaa jam ke pur ayudh lai kup bhaarath kai hai |
If he has passed away, then I shall fight with Yama, the god of death and bring him back
ਨੰਦ ਕੋ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਿਹ ਜਾਇ ਰਮੇ ਤਊ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਦੈ ਹੈ ॥੪੧੧॥
nand ko aan milaae hau hau kih jaae rame taoo jaan na dai hai |411|
He will not go away like this.”411.
ਗੋਪ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਗਏ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਤੋ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਇਮ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
gop pranaam ge kar kai grihi to has kai im kaanrah kahiyo hai |
All the gopas went home after bowing before him and Krishna said smilingly, “I am speaking truth
ਗੋਪਨ ਕੇ ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਮਿਲ ਹੋਂ ਇਹ ਝੂਠ ਨਹੀ ਫੁਨ ਸਤਿ ਲਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
gopan ke pat ko mil hon ih jhootth nahee fun sat lahiyo hai |
I shall cause all of you to meet Nand, the Lord of gopas there is not even a little falsehood it, I am speaking the truth
ਗੋਪਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਬਹਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
gopan ke man ko at hee dukh baat sune har door bahio hai |
ਛਾਡਿ ਅਧੀਰਜ ਦੀਨ ਸਭੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਧੀਰਜ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਗਾਢ ਗਹਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੪੧੨॥
chhaadd adheeraj deen sabho fun dheeraj ko man gaadt gahio hai |412|
The anguish of the mind of gpopas was removed on hearing the words of Krishna and without losing patience, they went away.412.
ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਜਲ ਬੀਚ ਧਸਿਓ ਬਰਨੰ ਪਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥

ਆਇ ਕੈ ਠਾਢਿ ਭਯੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਨਦੀਆ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇਨ ਸੋ ਲਪਟਾਯੋ ॥
aae kai tthaadt bhayo jab hee nadeea pat paaein so lapattaayo |
Early in the morning, Hari (Krishna) entered the water and reached before Varuna, who at the same time, clung to the feet of Krishna and said with choked throat:
ਭ੍ਰਿਤਨ ਮੋ ਅਜਨੇ ਤੁਮ ਤਾਤ ਅਨਿਓ ਬੰਧ ਕੇ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਘਿਘਿਆਯੋ ॥
bhritan mo ajane tum taat anio bandh ke keh kai ghighiaayo |
“My attendants have arrested and brought your father
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਛਿਮਾਪਨ ਦੋਖ ਕਰੋ ਇਹ ਭੇਦ ਹਮੈ ਲਖ ਕੈ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੪੧੩॥
kaanrah chhimaapan dokh karo ih bhed hamai lakh kai nahee paayo |413|
O Krishna! please forgive my fault, I did not know about it.”413.
ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਜ ਭਭੀਛਨ ਰੀਝਿ ਦਯੋ ਰਿਸ ਕੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਵਨ ਖੇਤ ਮਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
jin raaj bhabheechhan reejh dayo ris kai jin raavan khet mario hai |
He, who gave kingdom to Vibhishana and in great rage, killed Ravana in the battlefield
ਜਾਹਿ ਮਰਿਓ ਮੁਰ ਨਾਮ ਅਘਾਸੁਰ ਪੈ ਬਲਿ ਕੋ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਜੁ ਛਲਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
jaeh mario mur naam aghaasur pai bal ko chhal so ju chhalio hai |
He, who killed mUr and Aghasura and duped the king Bali
ਜਾਹਿ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਤਿਹ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਕੈ ਸਤ ਜਾਹਿ ਟਰਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
jaeh jalandhar kee triy ko tih moorat kai sat jaeh ttariyo hai |
ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਭਾਗ ਕਿਧੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਹਮ ਪੇਖਬਿ ਆਜੁ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੪੧੪॥
dhan hai bhaag kidho hamare tih ko ham pekhab aaj kario hai |414|
He, who tarnished the honour of the wife of Jalandhar, I am seeing today that Krishna (the incarnation of Vishnu), I am very fortunate.414.

ਪਾਇਨ ਪਰ ਕੈ ਬਰਨਿ ਜੂ ਦਯੋ ਨੰਦ ਕਉ ਸਾਥਿ ॥

Falling at the feet of Krishna, Varuna sent Nand to him
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਭਾਗ ਮੁਹਿ ਧੰਨਿ ਹੈ ਚਲੈ ਪੁਸਤਕਨ ਗਾਥ ॥੪੧੫॥
kahiyo bhaag muhi dhan hai chalai pusatakan gaath |415|
He said, “O Krishna! I am fortunate, this story will be related in books.”415.

ਤਾਤ ਕੋ ਸਾਥ ਲਯੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਪੁਰ ਕੋ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਭੀਨੋ ॥
taat ko saath layo bhagavaan chaliyo pur ko man aanand bheeno |
Taking his father with him and very much pleased, Krishna moved towards his city
ਬਾਹਰਿ ਲੋਕ ਮਿਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਕ੍ਰਮ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
baahar lok mile brij ke kar kaanrah pranaam praakram keeno |
The people of Braja met him on the outskirts, who bowed before Krishna and his feat
ਪਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਰਨ ਦਾਨ ਘਨੋ ਦਿਜ ਲੋਕਨ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
paae pare har ke bahu baaran daan ghano dij lokan deeno |
They all fell at his feet and they all gave many things in charity to the Brahmins
ਆਇ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਦਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੋ ਪਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਹਮੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੪੧੬॥
aae milaae dayo brij ko pat sat hamai karataa kar deeno |416|
They said in gratitude, “Krishna has, in reality, justified his words and has caused us to meet Nand, the lord of Braja.”416.

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਆਨਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਪਤਿ ਕਾਨਰ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਰੇ ॥
baahar aan kahiyo brij ke pat kaanar hee jag ko karataa re |
When Nand came out he said, “He is not only Krishna, but is the Creator of the whole world
ਰਾਜ ਦਯੋ ਇਨ ਰੀਝਿ ਬਿਭੀਛਨਿ ਰਾਵਨ ਸੇ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੋਟਿਕ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
raaj dayo in reejh bibheechhan raavan se rip kottik maare |
It was he, who on being pleased, gave kingdom to Vibhishana and has killed millions of enemies like Ravana
ਭ੍ਰਿਤਨ ਲੈ ਬਰੁਣੈ ਬੰਧਿਓ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਮੁਹਿ ਆਨਿਓ ਹੈ ਯਾਹੀ ਛਡਾ ਰੇ ॥
bhritan lai barunai bandhio tih te muhi aanio hai yaahee chhaddaa re |
The attendants of Varuna had arrested me and he is the one who has liberated me from all
ਕੈ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਮਝੋ ਇਹ ਕੋ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਸਮਝੋ ਨਹੀ ਬਾਰੇ ॥੪੧੭॥
kai jag ko karataa samajho ih ko kar kai samajho nahee baare |417|
Do not consider him only a boy, he is the Creator of the whole world.”417.
ਗੋਪ ਸਭੋ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਜਾਨਿ ਹਰੀ ਇਹ ਭੇਦ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਓ ॥
gop sabho apune man bheetar jaan haree ih bhed bichaario |
All the gopas have understood this mystery in their mind
ਦੇਖਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਸਭੈ ਹਮ ਪੈ ਇਹ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਓ ॥
dekheh jaae baikuntth sabhai ham pai ih kai ih bhaat uchaario |
Knowing this, Krishna asked them to visit heaven and also caused them to see it
ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਜਸੁ ਉਚ ਮਹਾ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਇਮ ਸਾਰਿਓ ॥
taa chhab ko jas uch mahaa kab ne apunai mukh te im saario |
ਗਿਆਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਗੋਪਨ ਲੋਹ ਕੌ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸਭੈ ਕਰਿ ਕੰਚਨ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੪੧੮॥
giaan hvai paaras gopan loh kau kaanrah sabhai kar kanchan ddaario |418|
Considering this spectacle, the poet has said, “This spectacle appeared like this that the knowledge given by Krishna was like philosopher’s stone, and because of it the iron-like gopas had been transformed into gold.418.
ਜਾਨ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕੋ ਲਖੀਆ ਜਬ ਰੈਨਿ ਪਰੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਪਰਿ ਸੋਏ ॥
jaan kai antar ko lakheea jab rain paree tab hee par soe |
When the night fell, Krishna, the knower of the secrets of all the hearts, went to sleep
ਦੂਖ ਜਿਤੇ ਜੁ ਹੁਤੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੇ ਲੇਵਤ ਖੋਏ ॥
dookh jite ju hute man mai titane har naam ke levat khoe |
All the sufferings are destroyed by the repetition of the name of the Lord
ਆਇ ਗਯੋ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਤਿਹ ਜਾ ਪਿਖਏ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਨਰ ਦੋਏ ॥
aae gayo supanaa sabh ko tih jaa pikhe treeyaa nar doe |
ਜਾਇ ਅਨੂਪ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਥੀ ਤਿਹ ਜਾ ਸਮ ਜਾ ਫੁਨਿ ਅਉਰ ਨ ਕੋਏ ॥੪੧੯॥
jaae anoop biraajat thee tih jaa sam jaa fun aaur na koe |419|
All the men and women saw heaven in their dreams, in which they visualised Krishna seated in an unparalleled posture on all the sides.419.
ਸਭ ਗੋਪਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਮੋਹਿ ਭਲਾ ਹੈ ॥
sabh gop bichaar kahiyo man mai ih baikuntth te brij mohi bhalaa hai |
All the gopas thought and said, “O Krishna! to be in Braja in your company is much better than heaven
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸਮੈ ਲਖੀਐ ਨ ਇਹਾ ਓਹੁ ਜਾ ਪਿਖੀਐ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਖਲਾ ਹੈ ॥
kaanrah samai lakheeai na ihaa ohu jaa pikheeai bhagavaan khalaa hai |
We see none equal to Krishna wherever we see, we see only the Lord (Krishna)
ਗੋਰਸ ਖਾਤ ਉਹਾ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਮੰਗਿ ਜੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵ ਜਲਾ ਹੈ ॥
goras khaat uhaa ham te mang jo karataa sabh jeev jalaa hai |
In Braja, Krishna asks for milk and curd from us and eats them
ਸੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਛਾਛਹਿ ਪੀਵਤ ਜਾਹਿ ਰਮੀ ਨਭ ਭੂਮਿ ਕਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੨੦॥
so hamare grihi chhaachheh peevat jaeh ramee nabh bhoom kalaa hai |420|
He is the same Krishna, who has the power to destroy all the beings the Lord (Krishna), whose power pervades all the heavens, nether-worlds, the same Krishna (Lord) asks for butter-milk from us and drinks it.420.

The Yogi says that Yoga is good and sweet, and nothing else is, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਰੁੰਡਿਤ ਮੁੰਡਿਤ ਏਕੈ ਸਬਦੀ ਏਇ ਕਹਹਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
runddit munddit ekai sabadee ee kaheh sidh paaee |1|
Those who shave their heads, and those who amputate their limbs, and those who utter only a single word, all say that they have attained the spiritual perfection of the Siddhas. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਨੇ ਅੰਧਾ ॥
har bin bharam bhulaane andhaa |
Without the Lord, the blind ones are deluded by doubt.
ਜਾ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਉ ਆਪੁ ਛੁਟਕਾਵਨਿ ਤੇ ਬਾਧੇ ਬਹੁ ਫੰਧਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa peh jaau aap chhuttakaavan te baadhe bahu fandhaa |1| rahaau |
And those, to whom I go to find release - they themselves are bound by all sorts of chains. ||1||Pause||
ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੀ ਤਹੀ ਸਮਾਨੀ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਿਸਰੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥
jeh te upajee tahee samaanee ih bidh bisaree tab hee |
The soul is re-absorbed into that from which it originated, when one leaves this path of errors.
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਗੁਣੀ ਸੂਰ ਹਮ ਦਾਤੇ ਏਹਿ ਕਹਹਿ ਬਡ ਹਮ ਹੀ ॥੨॥
panddit gunee soor ham daate ehi kaheh badd ham hee |2|
The scholarly Pandits, the virtuous, the brave and the generous, all assert that they alone are great. ||2||
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਕਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ॥
jiseh bujhaae soee boojhai bin boojhe kiau raheeai |
He alone understands, whom the Lord inspires to understand. Without understanding, what can anyone do?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਚੂਕੈ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਣਕੁ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੩॥
satigur milai andheraa chookai in bidh maanak laheeai |3|
Meeting the True Guru, the darkness is dispelled, and in this way, the jewel is obtained. ||3||
ਤਜਿ ਬਾਵੇ ਦਾਹਨੇ ਬਿਕਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਦੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੀਐ ॥
taj baave daahane bikaaraa har pad drirr kar raheeai |
Give up the evil actions of your left and right hands, and grasp hold of the Feet of the Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਗੂੰਗੈ ਗੁੜੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਪੂਛੇ ਤੇ ਕਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ॥੪॥੭॥੫੧॥
kahu kabeer goongai gurr khaaeaa poochhe te kiaa kaheeai |4|7|51|
Says Kabeer, the mute has tasted the molasses, but what can he say about it if he is asked? ||4||7||51||

ਜਹ ਕਛੁ ਅਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jeh kachh ahaa tahaa kichh naahee panch tat teh naahee |
Where something existed, now there is nothing. The five elements are no longer there.
ਇੜਾ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਸੁਖਮਨ ਬੰਦੇ ਏ ਅਵਗਨ ਕਤ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
eirraa pingulaa sukhaman bande e avagan kat jaahee |1|
The Ida, the Pingala and the Sushmanaa - O human being, how can the breaths through these be counted now? ||1||
ਤਾਗਾ ਤੂਟਾ ਗਗਨੁ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਬੋਲਤੁ ਕਹਾ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
taagaa toottaa gagan binas geaa teraa bolat kahaa samaaee |
The string has been broken, and the Sky of the Tenth Gate has been destroyed. Where has your speech gone?
ਏਹ ਸੰਸਾ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੋ ਨ ਕਹੈ ਸਮਝਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
eeh sansaa mo kau anadin biaapai mo kau ko na kahai samajhaaee |1| rahaau |
This cynicism afflicts me, night and day; who can explain this to me and help me understand? ||1||Pause||
ਜਹ ਬਰਭੰਡੁ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਰਚਨਹਾਰੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jeh barabhandd pindd teh naahee rachanahaar teh naahee |
Where the world is - the body is not there; the mind is not there either.
ਜੋੜਨਹਾਰੋ ਸਦਾ ਅਤੀਤਾ ਇਹ ਕਹੀਐ ਕਿਸੁ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
jorranahaaro sadaa ateetaa ih kaheeai kis maahee |2|
The Joiner is forever unattached; now, within whom is the soul said to be contained? ||2||
ਜੋੜੀ ਜੁੜੈ ਨ ਤੋੜੀ ਤੂਟੈ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
jorree jurrai na torree toottai jab lag hoe binaasee |
By joining the elements, people cannot join them, and by breaking, they cannot be broken, until the body perishes.
ਕਾ ਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਾ ਕੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੈ ਜਾਸੀ ॥੩॥
kaa ko tthaakur kaa ko sevak ko kaahoo kai jaasee |3|
Of whom is the soul the master, and of whom is it the servant? Where, and to whom does it go? ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਬਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
kahu kabeer liv laag rahee hai jahaa base din raatee |
Says Kabeer, I have lovingly focused my attention on that place where the Lord dwells, day and night.
ਉਆ ਕਾ ਮਰਮੁ ਓਹੀ ਪਰੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਓਹੁ ਤਉ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੫੨॥
auaa kaa maram ohee par jaanai ohu tau sadaa abinaasee |4|1|52|
Only He Himself truly knows the secrets of His mystery; He is eternal and indestructible. ||4||1||52||

sun gufaa meh aasan baisan kalap bibarajit panthaa |1|
In the cave of silence, dwell in your Yogic posture; let the subjugation of desire be your spiritual path. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਜਨ ਮੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜੋਗੀ ॥
mere raajan mai bairaagee jogee |
O my King, I am a Yogi, a hermit, a renunciate.
ਮਰਤ ਨ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਓਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਮਹਿ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਟੂਆ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਭਸਮਾਧਾਰੀ ॥
khandd brahamandd meh singee meraa battooaa sabh jag bhasamaadhaaree |
The solar systems and galaxies are my horn; the whole world is the bag to carry my ashes.
ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਲੁ ਪਲਟੀਐ ਛੂਟੈ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
taarree laagee tripal palatteeai chhoottai hoe pasaaree |2|
Eliminating the three qualities and finding release from this world is my deep meditation. ||2||
ਮਨੁ ਪਵਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਤੂੰਬਾ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ਜੁਗ ਜੁਗ ਸਾਰਦ ਸਾਜੀ ॥
man pavan due toonbaa karee hai jug jug saarad saajee |
My mind and breath are the two gourds of my fiddle, and the Lord of all the ages is its frame.
ਥਿਰੁ ਭਈ ਤੰਤੀ ਤੂਟਸਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਨਹਦ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਬਾਜੀ ॥੩॥
thir bhee tantee toottas naahee anahad kinguree baajee |3|
The string has become steady, and it does not break; this guitar vibrates with the unstruck melody. ||3||
ਸੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਮਗਨ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਡੋਲ ਨ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
sun man magan bhe hai poore maaeaa ddol na laagee |
Hearing it, the mind is enraptured and becomes perfect; it does not waver, and it is not affected by Maya.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਖੇਲਿ ਗਇਓ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੫੩॥
kahu kabeer taa kau punarap janam nahee khel geo bairaagee |4|2|53|
Says Kabeer, the bairaagee, the renunciate, who has played such a game, is not reincarnated again into the world of form and substance. ||4||2||53||
