O Goddess! Thou art Ambika, the wielder of arms weapons and also the destroyer of Jambhasura
ਤੂਹੀ ਅੰਬਿਕਾ ਸੀਤਲਾ ਤੋਤਲਾ ਹੈ ॥

Thou art Ambika, Shitala etc.
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਭੂਮਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਤੈਹੀ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ ॥੪੨੧॥

Thou art Bhavani, the smasher of heads in the battlefield
ਤੁਹੀ ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਜਾਲਪਾ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ॥

Thou art also Kalka, Jalpa and giver of the kingdom to gods
ਮਹਾ ਜੋਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਤੁਹੀ ਈਸਵਰੀ ਹੈ ॥

Thou art the great Yogmaya and Parvati
ਤੁਹੀ ਤੇਜ ਅਕਾਸ ਥੰਭੋ ਮਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੪੨੨॥

Thou art the conqueror of ll, residing on Hinglaj mountain
ਸਿਵਾ ਸੀਤਲਾ ਮੰਗਲਾ ਤੋਤਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੨੬॥

Thou hast a supreme vehile (i.e. lion), Thou art also in the form of an arrow, a a sword and a dagger.427.
ਤੁਹੀ ਰਾਜਸੀ ਸਾਤਕੀ ਤਾਮਸੀ ਹੈ ॥

Thou art Rajas, tamas and Sattva, the three modes of maya
ਤੁਹੀ ਬਾਲਕਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਧਣੀ ਅਉ ਜੁਆ ਹੈ ॥
tuhee baalakaa bridhanee aau juaa hai |
Thou art the three ages of life i.e. childhood, youth and old age
ਤੁਹੀ ਦਾਨਵੀ ਦੇਵਣੀ ਜਛਣੀ ਹੈ ॥

Thou art demoness, goddess and Dakshini
ਤੁਹੀ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਰਣੀ ਮਛਣੀ ਕਛਣੀ ਹੈ ॥੪੨੮॥

Thou art also Kinnar-woman, fish-girt and Kashyap-woman.428.
ਤੁਹੀ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਸੇਸਣੀ ਦਾਨੁ ਵੇਸਾ ॥

Thou art the power of gods and the vision of the demons
ਸਰਹਿ ਬ੍ਰਿਸਟਣੀ ਹੈ ਤੁਹੀ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਭੇਸਾ ॥
sareh brisattanee hai tuhee asatr bhesaa |
Thou art the steel-striker and wielder of arms
ਤੁਹੀ ਰਾਜ ਰਾਜੇਸਵਰੀ ਜੋਗ ਮਾਯਾ ॥

Thou art Rajrajeshwari and Yogmaya and
ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹ ਸੋ ਚਉਦਹੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਛਾਯਾ ॥੪੨੯॥

There is the prevalence of your maya in all the fourteen worlds.429.

Bhavani, Basavi, Parvati and Kartikeya
ਤੁਹੀ ਅੰਬਿਕਾ ਦੁਸਟਹਾ ਮੁੰਡਮਾਲੀ ॥
tuhee anbikaa dusattahaa munddamaalee |
Thou art Ambika and the wearer of the necklace of skulls
ਤੁਹੀ ਕਸਟ ਹੰਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨੀ ॥੪੩੦॥
tuhee kasatt hantee kripaa kai kripaanee |430|
O Goddess! Thou art the destroyer of the sufferings of all and also gracious towards all.430.
ਤੁਮੀ ਬਰਾਹਣੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹਿਰਨਾਛ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

Thou didst measure the three worlds as the power of Vaman.

Thou didst establish the gods, demons and Yakshas.431.

Thou didst kill Ravana as Ram
ਤੁਮੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੰਸ ਕੇਸੀ ਬਿਹੰਡਿਯੋ ॥
tumee krisan hvai kans kesee bihanddiyo |
Thou didst kill the demon Keshi as Krishna
ਤੁਮੀ ਜਾਲਪਾ ਹੈ ਬਿੜਾਲਾਛ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
tumee jaalapaa hai birraalaachh ghaayo |
Thou didst annihilate the demon Biraksha as Jalapa
ਤੁਮੀ ਸੁੰਭ ਨੈਸੁੰਭ ਦਾਨੋ ਖਪਾਯੋ ॥੪੩੨॥
tumee sunbh naisunbh daano khapaayo |432|
Thou didst destroy the demons Sumbh and Nisumbh.432.

Nine yards, ten yards, and twenty-one yards - weave these into the full piece of cloth;
ਸਾਠ ਸੂਤ ਨਵ ਖੰਡ ਬਹਤਰਿ ਪਾਟੁ ਲਗੋ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ॥੧॥
saatth soot nav khandd bahatar paatt lago adhikaaee |1|
take the sixty threads and add nine joints to the seventy-two on the loom. ||1||
ਗਈ ਬੁਨਾਵਨ ਮਾਹੋ ॥

Life weaves itself into its patterns.
ਘਰ ਛੋਡਿਐ ਜਾਇ ਜੁਲਾਹੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Leaving her home, the soul goes to the world of the weaver. ||1||Pause||
ਗਜੀ ਨ ਮਿਨੀਐ ਤੋਲਿ ਨ ਤੁਲੀਐ ਪਾਚਨੁ ਸੇਰ ਅਢਾਈ ॥
gajee na mineeai tol na tuleeai paachan ser adtaaee |
This cloth cannot be measured in yards or weighed with weights; its food is two and a half measures.
ਜੌ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਚਨੁ ਬੇਗਿ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਝਗਰੁ ਕਰੈ ਘਰਹਾਈ ॥੨॥
jau kar paachan beg na paavai jhagar karai gharahaaee |2|
If it does not obtain food right away, it quarrels with the master of the house. ||2||
ਦਿਨ ਕੀ ਬੈਠ ਖਸਮ ਕੀ ਬਰਕਸ ਇਹ ਬੇਲਾ ਕਤ ਆਈ ॥
din kee baitth khasam kee barakas ih belaa kat aaee |
How many days will you sit here, in opposition to your Lord and Master? When will this opportunity come again?
ਛੂਟੇ ਕੂੰਡੇ ਭੀਗੈ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਚਲਿਓ ਜੁਲਾਹੋ ਰੀਸਾਈ ॥੩॥
chhootte koondde bheegai pureea chalio julaaho reesaaee |3|
Leaving his pots and pans, and the bobbins wet with his tears, the weaver soul departs in jealous anger. ||3||
ਛੋਛੀ ਨਲੀ ਤੰਤੁ ਨਹੀ ਨਿਕਸੈ ਨਤਰ ਰਹੀ ਉਰਝਾਈ ॥
chhochhee nalee tant nahee nikasai natar rahee urajhaaee |
The wind-pipe is empty now; the thread of the breath does not come out any longer. The thread is tangled; it has run out.
ਛੋਡਿ ਪਸਾਰੁ ਈਹਾ ਰਹੁ ਬਪੁਰੀ ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਮਝਾਈ ॥੪॥੩॥੫੪॥
chhodd pasaar eehaa rahu bapuree kahu kabeer samajhaaee |4|3|54|
So renounce the world of form and substance while you remain here, O poor soul; says Kabeer: you must understand this! ||4||3||54||

jit ghatt naam na aoopajai foott marai jan soe |1|
That person, within whose heart the Lord's Name does not well up - may that person burst and die! ||1||

O my dark and beautiful Lord,
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੋਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਿ ਏਹੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਕਿ ਭੋਗੁ ॥
saadh milai sidh paaeeai ki ehu jog ki bhog |
Meeting with the Holy, the perfection of the Siddhas is obtained. What good is Yoga or indulgence in pleasures?
ਦੁਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥੨॥
duhu mil kaaraj aoopajai raam naam sanjog |2|
When the two meet together, the business is conducted, and the link with the Lord's Name is established. ||2||
ਲੋਗੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਇਹੁ ਗੀਤੁ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਤਉ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥
log jaanai ihu geet hai ihu tau braham beechaar |
People believe that this is just a song, but it is a meditation on God.
ਜਿਉ ਕਾਸੀ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਾਨਸ ਮਰਤੀ ਬਾਰ ॥੩॥
jiau kaasee upades hoe maanas maratee baar |3|
It is like the instructions given to the dying man at Benares. ||3||
ਕੋਈ ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਸੁਣੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
koee gaavai ko sunai har naamaa chit laae |
Whoever sings or listens to the Lord's Name with conscious awareness
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਸਾ ਨਹੀ ਅੰਤਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥੫੫॥
kahu kabeer sansaa nahee ant param gat paae |4|1|4|55|
- says Kabeer, without a doubt, in the end, he obtains the highest status. ||4||1||4||55||

Those who try to do things by their own efforts are drowned in the terrifying world-ocean; they cannot cross over.
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਸੰਜਮ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
karam dharam karate bahu sanjam ahanbudh man jaario re |1|
Those who practice religious rituals and strict self-discipline - their egotistical pride shall consume their minds. ||1||
ਸਾਸ ਗ੍ਰਾਸ ਕੋ ਦਾਤੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥
saas graas ko daato tthaakur so kiau manahu bisaario re |
Your Lord and Master has given you the breath of life and food to sustain you; Oh, why have you forgotten Him?
ਹੀਰਾ ਲਾਲੁ ਅਮੋਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਹੈ ਕਉਡੀ ਬਦਲੈ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
heeraa laal amol janam hai kauddee badalai haario re |1| rahaau |
Human birth is a priceless jewel, which has been squandered in exchange for a worthless shell. ||1||Pause||
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਭੂਖ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਹਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥
trisanaa trikhaa bhookh bhram laagee hiradai naeh beechaario re |
The thirst of desire and the hunger of doubt afflict you; you do not contemplate the Lord in your heart.
ਉਨਮਤ ਮਾਨ ਹਿਰਿਓ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥੨॥
aunamat maan hirio man maahee gur kaa sabad na dhaario re |2|
Intoxicated with pride, you cheat yourself; you have not enshrined the Word of the Guru's Shabad within your mind. ||2||
ਸੁਆਦ ਲੁਭਤ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਓ ਮਦ ਰਸ ਲੈਤ ਬਿਕਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥
suaad lubhat indree ras prerio mad ras lait bikaario re |
Those who are deluded by sensual pleasures, who are tempted by sexual delights and enjoy wine are corrupt.
ਕਰਮ ਭਾਗ ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਾਨੇ ਕਾਸਟ ਲੋਹ ਉਧਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥੩॥
karam bhaag santan sangaane kaasatt loh udhaario re |3|
But those who, through destiny and good karma, join the Society of the Saints, float over the ocean, like iron attached to wood. ||3||
ਧਾਵਤ ਜੋਨਿ ਜਨਮ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਅਬ ਦੁਖ ਕਰਿ ਹਮ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥
dhaavat jon janam bhram thaake ab dukh kar ham haario re |
I have wandered in doubt and confusion, through birth and reincarnation; now, I am so tired. I am suffering in pain and wasting away.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਤ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਿਓ ਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥੫॥੫੬॥

ਕਾਮ ਸੁਆਇ ਗਜ ਬਸਿ ਪਰੇ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਅੰਕਸੁ ਸਹਿਓ ਸੀਸ ॥੧॥

ਬਿਖੈ ਬਾਚੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਚੁ ਸਮਝੁ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ॥
bikhai baach har raach samajh man bauraa re |
So escape from corruption and immerse yourself in the Lord; take this advice, O crazy mind.
ਨਿਰਭੈ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੇ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਗਹਿਓ ਨ ਰਾਮ ਜਹਾਜੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nirabhai hoe na har bhaje man bauraa re gahio na raam jahaaj |1| rahaau |
You have not meditated fearlessly on the Lord, O crazy mind; you have not embarked upon the Lord's Boat. ||1||Pause||
ਮਰਕਟ ਮੁਸਟੀ ਅਨਾਜ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਲੀਨੀ ਹਾਥੁ ਪਸਾਰਿ ॥
marakatt musattee anaaj kee man bauraa re leenee haath pasaar |
The monkey stretches out its hand, O crazy mind, and takes a handful of corn;
ਛੂਟਨ ਕੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਪਰਿਆ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਨਾਚਿਓ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਬਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
chhoottan ko sahasaa pariaa man bauraa re naachio ghar ghar baar |2|
now unable to escape, O crazy mind, it is made to dance door to door. ||2||
ਜਿਉ ਨਲਨੀ ਸੂਅਟਾ ਗਹਿਓ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਮਾਯਾ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
jiau nalanee sooattaa gahio man bauraa re maayaa ihu biauhaar |
Like the parrot caught in the trap, O crazy mind, you trapped by the affairs of Maya.
ਜੈਸਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਕਾ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਤਿਉ ਪਸਰਿਓ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
jaisaa rang kasunbh kaa man bauraa re tiau pasario paasaar |3|
Like the weak dye of the safflower, O crazy mind, so is the expanse of this world of form and substance. ||3||
ਨਾਵਨ ਕਉ ਤੀਰਥ ਘਨੇ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਪੂਜਨ ਕਉ ਬਹੁ ਦੇਵ ॥
naavan kau teerath ghane man bauraa re poojan kau bahu dev |
There are so many holy shrines in which to bathe, O crazy mind, and so many gods to worship.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਛੂਟਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਛੂਟਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੪॥੧॥੬॥੫੭॥
kahu kabeer chhoottan nahee man bauraa re chhoottan har kee sev |4|1|6|57|
Says Kabeer, you shall not be saved like this, O crazy mind; only by serving the Lord will you find release. ||4||1||6||57||
