ਸੂਰਬੀਰਾ ਸਜੇ ਘੋਰ ਬਾਜੇ ਬਜੇ ਭਾਜ ਕੰਤਾ ਸੁਣੇ ਰਾਮ ਆਏ ॥
soorabeeraa saje ghor baaje baje bhaaj kantaa sune raam aae |
The warriors are decorating themselves and the horrible battle-drums are resounding, O my husband! You may flee for your safety because Ram has arrived
ਬਾਲ ਮਾਰਯੋ ਬਲੀ ਸਿੰਧ ਪਾਟਯੋ ਜਿਨੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੌ ਬੈਰਿ ਕੈਸੇ ਰਚਾਏ ॥
baal maarayo balee sindh paattayo jinai taeh sau bair kaise rachaae |
He who has killed Bali, who has splitted the sea and created the passage, why have you created enmity with him?
ਬਯਾਧ ਜੀਤਯੋ ਜਿਨੈ ਜੰਭ ਮਾਰਯੋ ਉਨੈ ਰਾਮ ਅਉਤਾਰ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
bayaadh jeetayo jinai janbh maarayo unai raam aautaar soee suhaae |
He, who has killed Byadh and Jambasur, it is the same power, which has manifested itself as Ram
ਦੇ ਮਿਲੋ ਜਾਨਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਹੈ ਸਿਆਨ ਕੀ ਚਾਮ ਕੇ ਦਾਮ ਕਾਹੇ ਚਲਾਏ ॥੩੮੦॥
de milo jaanakee baat hai siaan kee chaam ke daam kaahe chalaae |380|
Return Sita to him and see him, this is the only wise thing, do not try to introduce the coins of leather.380.

Speech of Ravana :
ਬਯੂਹ ਸੈਨਾ ਸਜੋ ਘੋਰ ਬਾਜੇ ਬਜੋ ਕੋਟਿ ਜੋਧਾ ਗਜੋ ਆਨ ਨੇਰੇ ॥
bayooh sainaa sajo ghor baaje bajo kott jodhaa gajo aan nere |
Even if there is siege of army on all the four sides and there may be the resonance of horrible sound of war-drums and millions of warriors may roar near me
ਸਾਜ ਸੰਜੋਅ ਸੰਬੂਹ ਸੈਨਾ ਸਭੈ ਆਜ ਮਾਰੋ ਤਰੈ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੇਰੇ ॥
saaj sanjoa sanbooh sainaa sabhai aaj maaro tarai drisatt tere |
Even then I shall, on wearing my armours, destroy them within your sight
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੀਤੋ ਕਰੋ ਜਛ ਰੀਤੋ ਧਨੰ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੀਤਾ ਬਰੰ ਜੀਤ ਜੁਧੈ ॥
eindr jeeto karo jachh reeto dhanan naar seetaa baran jeet judhai |
I shall conquer Indra and loot all she treasure of Yaksha and after winning the war, I shall wed Sita.
ਸੁਰਗ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਆਕਾਸ ਜੁਆਲਾ ਜਰੈ ਬਾਚਿ ਹੈ ਰਾਮ ਕਾ ਮੋਰ ਕ੍ਰੂਧੈ ॥੩੮੧॥
surag paataal aakaas juaalaa jarai baach hai raam kaa mor kraoodhai |381|
If with the fire of my fury, when the sky, netherworld and heaven burn, then how Ram will remain safe before me?381.

ਤਾਰਕਾ ਜਾਤ ਹੀ ਘਾਤ ਕੀਨੀ ਜਿਨੈ ਅਉਰ ਸੁਬਾਹ ਮਾਰੀਚ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
taarakaa jaat hee ghaat keenee jinai aaur subaah maareech maare |
He who has killed Taraka, Subahu and Marich,
ਬਯਾਧ ਬਧਯੋ ਖਰੰਦੂਖਣੰ ਖੇਤ ਥੈ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਬਾਣ ਸੋਂ ਬਾਲ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
bayaadh badhayo kharandookhanan khet thai ek hee baan son baal maare |
And also killed Viradh and Khar-Dushan, and killed Bali with one arrow
ਧੁਮ੍ਰ ਅਛਾਦ ਅਉ ਜਾਬੁਮਾਲੀ ਬਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹੀਣੰ ਕਰਯੋ ਜੁਧ ਜੈ ਕੈ ॥
dhumr achhaad aau jaabumaalee balee praan heenan karayo judh jai kai |
He who has destroyed Dhumraksha and Jambumali in the war,
ਮਾਰਿਹੈਂ ਤੋਹਿ ਯੌ ਸਯਾਰ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਯੋ ਲੇਹਿਗੇ ਲੰਕ ਕੋ ਡੰਕ ਦੈ ਕੈ ॥੩੮੨॥
maarihain tohi yau sayaar ke singh jayo lehige lank ko ddank dai kai |382|
He will conquer you by challenging you and kill you like a lion killing a jackal.382.

ਚਉਰ ਚੰਦ੍ਰੰ ਕਰੰ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਸੂਰੰ ਧਰੰ ਬੇਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਰਰੰ ਦੁਆਰ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
chaur chandran karan chhatr sooran dharan bed brahamaa raran duaar mere |
The moon waves the fly-whisk over my head, the sun catches hold of my canopy and Brahma recites Vedas at my gate
ਪਾਕ ਪਾਵਕ ਕਰੰ ਨੀਰ ਬਰਣੰ ਭਰੰ ਜਛ ਬਿਦਿਆਧਰੰ ਕੀਨ ਚੇਰੇ ॥
paak paavak karan neer baranan bharan jachh bidiaadharan keen chere |
The god of fire prepares my food, the god Varuna brings water for me and the Yakshas teach various sciences
ਅਰਬ ਖਰਬੰ ਪੁਰੰ ਚਰਬ ਸਰਬੰ ਕਰੇ ਦੇਖੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਕਰੌ ਬੀਰ ਖੇਤੰ ॥
arab kharaban puran charab saraban kare dekh kaise karau beer khetan |
I have enjoyed the comforts of millions of heavens, you may see how I kill the warriors
ਚਿੰਕ ਹੈ ਚਾਵਡਾ ਫਿੰਕ ਹੈ ਫਿਕਰੀ ਨਾਚ ਹੈ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੰ ॥੩੮੩॥
chink hai chaavaddaa fink hai fikaree naach hai beer baitaal pretan |383|
I shall wage such a horrible war that the vultures will become happy, the vampires will roam and the ghosts and fiends will dance.383.

ਤਾਸ ਨੇਜੇ ਢੁਲੈ ਘੋਰ ਬਾਜੇ ਬਜੈ ਰਾਮ ਲੀਨੇ ਦਲੈ ਆਨ ਢੂਕੇ ॥
taas neje dtulai ghor baaje bajai raam leene dalai aan dtooke |
Look there, the swinging lances are visible, the terrible instruments are resounding and Ram has arrived with his mighty forces
ਬਾਨਰੀ ਪੂਤ ਚਿੰਕਾਰ ਅਪਾਰੰ ਕਰੰ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰੰ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਕੂਕੇ ॥
baanaree poot chinkaar apaaran karan maar maaran chahoon or kooke |
The sound of “kill, kill” is emanating form the army of monkeys from all the four sides
ਭੀਮ ਭੇਰੀ ਬਜੈ ਜੰਗ ਜੋਧਾ ਗਜੈ ਬਾਨ ਚਾਪੈ ਚਲੈ ਨਾਹਿ ਜਉ ਲੌ ॥
bheem bheree bajai jang jodhaa gajai baan chaapai chalai naeh jau lau |
O Ravana! till the time the war-drums resound and the thundering warriors discharge their arrows
ਬਾਤ ਕੋ ਮਾਨੀਐ ਘਾਤੁ ਪਹਿਚਾਨੀਐ ਰਾਵਰੀ ਦੇਹ ਕੀ ਸਾਤ ਤਉ ਲੌ ॥੩੮੪॥
baat ko maaneeai ghaat pahichaaneeai raavaree deh kee saat tau lau |384|
Recognising the opportunity before that, accept my saying for the protection of your body (and leave the idea of war).384.
ਘਾਟ ਘਾਟੈ ਰੁਕੌ ਬਾਟ ਬਾਟੈ ਤੁਪੋ ਐਂਠ ਬੈਠੇ ਕਹਾ ਰਾਮ ਆਏ ॥
ghaatt ghaattai rukau baatt baattai tupo aintth baitthe kahaa raam aae |
Obstruct the movement of the armies on the sea-shore and other routes, because now ram has arrived,
ਖੋਰ ਹਰਾਮ ਹਰੀਫ ਕੀ ਆਂਖ ਤੈ ਚਾਮ ਕੇ ਜਾਤ ਕੈਸੇ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
khor haraam hareef kee aankh tai chaam ke jaat kaise chalaae |
Do all the work by removing the veil of heresy form your eyes and do not become self-willed.
ਹੋਇਗੋ ਖੁਆਰ ਬਿਸੀਆਰ ਖਾਨਾ ਤੁਰਾ ਬਾਨਰੀ ਪੂਤ ਜਉ ਲੌ ਨ ਗਜਿ ਹੈ ॥
hoeigo khuaar biseeaar khaanaa turaa baanaree poot jau lau na gaj hai |
If you remain in distress, your family will be destroyed you can feel yourself protected till the army of monkeys does not begin its violent thunderings
ਲੰਕ ਕੋ ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੇ ਫਾਧ ਕੈ ਆਸੁਰੀ ਪੂਤ ਲੈ ਘਾਸਿ ਭਜਿ ਹੈ ॥੩੮੫॥
lank ko chhaadd kai kott ke faadh kai aasuree poot lai ghaas bhaj hai |385|
After that all the son demos will flee, after jumping over the walls of th citadel and pressing the blades of grass in their mouths.385.

ਬਾਵਰੀ ਰਾਡ ਕਿਆ ਭਾਡਿ ਬਾਤੈ ਬਕੈ ਰੰਕ ਸੇ ਰਾਮ ਕਾ ਛੋਡ ਰਾਸਾ ॥
baavaree raadd kiaa bhaadd baatai bakai rank se raam kaa chhodd raasaa |
O foolish prostitute! why do you prattle Stop the praises of Ram
ਕਾਢਹੋ ਬਾਸਿ ਦੈ ਬਾਨ ਬਾਜੀਗਰੀ ਦੇਖਿਹੋ ਆਜ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਤਮਾਸਾ ॥
kaadtaho baas dai baan baajeegaree dekhiho aaj taa ko tamaasaa |
He will only discharge very small arrows like incense-stick towards me, I shall see this sport today.
ਬੀਸ ਬਾਹੇ ਧਰੰ ਸੀਸ ਦਸਯੰ ਸਿਰੰ ਸੈਣ ਸੰਬੂਹ ਹੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
bees baahe dharan sees dasayan siran sain sanbooh hai sang mere |
I have twenty arms and ten heads and all the forces are with me
ਭਾਜ ਜੈ ਹੈ ਕਹਾ ਬਾਟਿ ਪੈਹੈਂ ਊਹਾ ਮਾਰਿਹੌ ਬਾਜ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਟੇਰੇ ॥੩੮੬॥
bhaaj jai hai kahaa baatt paihain aoohaa maarihau baaj jaise battere |386|
Ram will not even get passage for running away, wherever I shall find him, I shall kill him there like a flacon killing a quil.386.
ਏਕ ਏਕੰ ਹਿਰੈਂ ਝੂਮ ਝੂਮੰ ਮਰੈਂ ਆਪੁ ਆਪੰ ਗਿਰੈਂ ਹਾਕੁ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
ek ekan hirain jhoom jhooman marain aap aapan girain haak maare |
I shall search for each one and kill him, and all of them will fall down on listening to my challenge
ਲਾਗ ਜੈਹਉ ਤਹਾ ਭਾਜ ਜੈਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਫੂਲ ਜੈਹੈ ਕਹਾ ਤੈ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥
laag jaihau tahaa bhaaj jaihai jahaa fool jaihai kahaa tai ubaare |
Wherever they will run to, shall pursue them and reach there, they shall not be able to conceal themselves.
ਸਾਜ ਬਾਜੇ ਸਭੈ ਆਜ ਲੈਹਉਾਂ ਤਿਨੈ ਰਾਜ ਕੈਸੋ ਕਰੈ ਕਾਜ ਮੋ ਸੋ ॥
saaj baaje sabhai aaj laihauaan tinai raaj kaiso karai kaaj mo so |
After bedecking myself, I shall catch them today and my whole work will be accomplished by my men.
ਬਾਨਰੰ ਛੈ ਕਰੋ ਰਾਮ ਲਛੈ ਹਰੋ ਜੀਤ ਹੌ ਹੋਡ ਤਉ ਤਾਨ ਤੋ ਸੋ ॥੩੮੭॥
baanaran chhai karo raam lachhai haro jeet hau hodd tau taan to so |387|
I shall destroy the army of monkeys, I shall kill ram and Lakshman and after conquering them I shall break to pieces your arrogance.387.
ਕੋਟਿ ਬਾਤੈ ਗੁਨੀ ਏਕ ਕੈ ਨਾ ਸੁਨੀ ਕੋਪਿ ਮੁੰਡੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਪੁਤ ਪਠੈ ॥
kott baatai gunee ek kai naa sunee kop munddee dhunee put patthai |
Many things were said but Ravana paid a deaf ear to them and highly infuriated, he sent his sons to war-arena
ਏਕ ਨਾਰਾਤ ਦੇਵਾਤ ਦੂਜੋ ਬਲੀ ਭੂਮ ਕੰਪੀ ਰਣੰਬੀਰ ਉਠੈ ॥
ek naaraat devaat doojo balee bhoom kanpee rananbeer utthai |
One of them was Narant and the other Devant, they were mighty warriors, on seeing whom the earth trembled,
ਸਾਰ ਭਾਰੰ ਪਰੇ ਧਾਰ ਧਾਰੰ ਬਜੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਹ ਕੈ ਲੋਹ ਕੀ ਛਿਟ ਛੁਟੈਂ ॥
saar bhaaran pare dhaar dhaaran bajee kroeh kai loh kee chhitt chhuttain |
The steel struck with steel and with the shower of arrows, there was splash of blood
ਰੁੰਡ ਧੁਕਧੁਕ ਪਰੈ ਘਾਇ ਭਕਭਕ ਕਰੈ ਬਿਥਰੀ ਜੁਥ ਸੋ ਲੁਥ ਲੁਟੈਂ ॥੩੮੮॥
rundd dhukadhuk parai ghaae bhakabhak karai bitharee juth so luth luttain |388|
The headless trunks writhed, the blood gushed out of the wounds and the corpses were scattered here and there.388.
ਪਤ੍ਰ ਜੁਗਣ ਭਰੈ ਸਦ ਦੇਵੀ ਕਰੈ ਨਦ ਭੈਰੋ ਰਰੈ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
patr jugan bharai sad devee karai nad bhairo rarai geet gaavai |
The Yoginis filled their bowls with blood and began to call out for the goddess kali, Bhairavas began to sing songs with terrible sounds.
ਭੂਤ ਔ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਬੈਤਾਲ ਬੀਰੰ ਬਲੀ ਮਾਸ ਅਹਾਰ ਤਾਰੀ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥
bhoot aau pret baitaal beeran balee maas ahaar taaree bajaavai |
The ghosts, fiends and other flesh-eaters clapped their hands
ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਅਉ ਸਰਬ ਬਿਦਿਆਧਰੰ ਮਧਿ ਆਕਾਸ ਭਯੋ ਸਦ ਦੇਵੰ ॥
jachh gandhrab aau sarab bidiaadharan madh aakaas bhayo sad devan |
The Yakshas, Gandharvas and gods specialist in all science moved in the sky
ਲੁਥ ਬਿਦੁਥਰੀ ਹੂਹ ਕੂਹੰ ਭਰੀ ਮਚੀਯੰ ਜੁਧ ਅਨੂਪ ਅਤੇਵੰ ॥੩੮੯॥
luth bidutharee hooh koohan bharee macheeyan judh anoop atevan |389|
The corpses were scattered and on all the four sides the atmosphere was filled with terrible din and in this way the terrible war made a unique advancement.389.

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਜੈਸੇ ਸਰਪ ਆਰਜਾਰੀ ॥
bin simaran jaise sarap aarajaaree |
Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, one's life is like that of a snake.
ਤਿਉ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਸਾਕਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
tiau jeeveh saakat naam bisaaree |1|
This is how the faithless cynic lives, forgetting the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਜੀਆ ॥
ek nimakh jo simaran meh jeea |
One who lives in meditative remembrance, even for an instant,
ਕੋਟਿ ਦਿਨਸ ਲਾਖ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kott dinas laakh sadaa thir theea |1| rahaau |
lives for hundreds of thousands and millions of days, and becomes stable forever. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਾਸ ॥
bin simaran dhrig karam karaas |
Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, one's actions and works are cursed.
ਕਾਗ ਬਤਨ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਮਹਿ ਵਾਸ ॥੨॥
kaag batan bisattaa meh vaas |2|
Like the crow's beak, he dwells in manure. ||2||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਭਏ ਕੂਕਰ ਕਾਮ ॥
bin simaran bhe kookar kaam |
Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, one acts like a dog.
ਸਾਕਤ ਬੇਸੁਆ ਪੂਤ ਨਿਨਾਮ ॥੩॥
saakat besuaa poot ninaam |3|
The faithless cynic is nameless, like the prostitute's son. ||3||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਜੈਸੇ ਸੀਙ ਛਤਾਰਾ ॥
bin simaran jaise seeng chhataaraa |
Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, one is like a horned ram.
ਬੋਲਹਿ ਕੂਰੁ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੁਖੁ ਕਾਰਾ ॥੪॥
boleh koor saakat mukh kaaraa |4|
The faithless cynic barks out his lies, and his face is blackened. ||4||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਗਰਧਭ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ॥
bin simaran garadhabh kee niaaee |
Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, one is like a donkey.
ਸਾਕਤ ਥਾਨ ਭਰਿਸਟ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ॥੫॥
saakat thaan bharisatt firaahee |5|
The faithless cynic wanders around in polluted places. ||5||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੂਕਰ ਹਰਕਾਇਆ ॥
bin simaran kookar harakaaeaa |
Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, one is like a mad dog.
ਸਾਕਤ ਲੋਭੀ ਬੰਧੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੬॥
saakat lobhee bandh na paaeaa |6|
The greedy, faithless cynic falls into entanglements. ||6||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੈ ਆਤਮ ਘਾਤੀ ॥
bin simaran hai aatam ghaatee |
Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, he murders his own soul.
ਸਾਕਤ ਨੀਚ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੁਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤੀ ॥੭॥
saakat neech tis kul nahee jaatee |7|
The faithless cynic is wretched, without family or social standing. ||7||
ਜਿਸੁ ਭਇਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
jis bheaa kripaal tis satasang milaaeaa |
When the Lord becomes merciful, one joins the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥੮॥੭॥
kahu naanak gur jagat taraaeaa |8|7|
Says Nanak, the Guru has saved the world. ||8||7||

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

Through the Guru's Word, I have attained the supreme status.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੧॥
gur poorai meree paij rakhaaee |1|
The Perfect Guru has preserved my honor. ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
gur kai bachan dhiaaeo mohi naau |
Through the Guru's Word, I meditate on the Name.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parasaad mohi miliaa thaau |1| rahaau |
By Guru's Grace, I have obtained a place of rest. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਰਸਨ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥
gur kai bachan sun rasan vakhaanee |
I listen to the Guru's Word, and chant it with my tongue.
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮੇਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
gur kirapaa te amrit meree baanee |2|
By Guru's Grace, my speech is like nectar. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਪੁ ॥
gur kai bachan mittiaa meraa aap |
Through the Guru's Word, my selfishness and conceit have been removed.
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਡ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੩॥
gur kee deaa te meraa vadd parataap |3|
Through the Guru's kindness, I have obtained glorious greatness. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰਮੁ ॥

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥੪॥

Through the Guru's Word, I see God everywhere. ||4||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਰਾਜੁ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
gur kai bachan keeno raaj jog |
Through the Guru's Word, I practice Raja Yoga, the Yoga of meditation and success.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਲੋਗੁ ॥੫॥
gur kai sang tariaa sabh log |5|
In the Company of the Guru, all the people of the world are saved. ||5||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਿਧਿ ॥
gur kai bachan mere kaaraj sidh |
Through the Guru's Word, my affairs are resolved.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਉ ਨਿਧਿ ॥੬॥
gur kai bachan paaeaa naau nidh |6|
Through the Guru's Word, I have obtained the nine treasures. ||6||
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
jin jin keenee mere gur kee aasaa |
Whoever places his hopes in my Guru,
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ॥੭॥
tis kee katteeai jam kee faasaa |7|
has the noose of death cut away. ||7||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਗਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਮੁ ॥
gur kai bachan jaagiaa meraa karam |
Through the Guru's Word, my good karma has been awakened.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥੮॥੮॥
naanak gur bhettiaa paarabraham |8|8|
O Nanak, meeting with the Guru, I have found the Supreme Lord God. ||8||8||

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ॥

I remember the Guru with each and every breath.
ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The Guru is my breath of life, the True Guru is my wealth. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ॥
gur kaa darasan dekh dekh jeevaa |
Beholding the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan, I live.
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਧੋਇ ਧੋਇ ਪੀਵਾ ॥੧॥
gur ke charan dhoe dhoe peevaa |1|
I wash the Guru's Feet, and drink in this water. ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਨਿਤ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰਉ ॥
gur kee ren nit majan krau |
I take my daily bath in the dust of the Guru's Feet.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਲੁ ਹਰਉ ॥੨॥
janam janam kee haumai mal hrau |2|
The egotistical filth of countless incarnations is washed off. ||2||
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਝੂਲਾਵਉ ਪਾਖਾ ॥
tis gur kau jhoolaavau paakhaa |
I wave the fan over the Guru.
ਮਹਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਤੇ ਹਾਥੁ ਦੇ ਰਾਖਾ ॥੩॥
mahaa agan te haath de raakhaa |3|
Giving me His Hand, He has saved me from the great fire. ||3||
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਢੋਵਉ ਪਾਣੀ ॥
tis gur kai grihi dtovau paanee |
I carry water for the Guru's household;
ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਅਕਲ ਗਤਿ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੪॥
jis gur te akal gat jaanee |4|
from the Guru, I have learned the Way of the One Lord. ||4||
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਪੀਸਉ ਨੀਤ ॥
tis gur kai grihi peesau neet |
I grind the corn for the Guru's household.
ਜਿਸੁ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਵੈਰੀ ਸਭ ਮੀਤ ॥੫॥
jis parasaad vairee sabh meet |5|
By His Grace, all my enemies have become friends. ||5||
ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦੀਨਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
jin gur mo kau deenaa jeeo |
The Guru who gave me my soul,
ਆਪੁਨਾ ਦਾਸਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਮੁਲਿ ਲੀਉ ॥੬॥
aapunaa daasaraa aape mul leeo |6|
has Himself purchased me, and made me His slave. ||6||
ਆਪੇ ਲਾਇਓ ਅਪਨਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
aape laaeo apanaa piaar |
He Himself has blessed me with His Love.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਕਰੀ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੭॥
sadaa sadaa tis gur kau karee namasakaar |7|
Forever and ever, I humbly bow to the Guru. ||7||
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਭੈ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥਾ ॥
kal kales bhai bhram dukh laathaa |
My troubles, conflicts, fears, doubts and pains have been dispelled;
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਮਰਾਥਾ ॥੮॥੯॥
kahu naanak meraa gur samaraathaa |8|9|
says Nanak, my Guru is All-powerful. ||8||9||
