TOTAK STANZA

ਇਮ ਬਾਤ ਜਬੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤੇ ਸੁਨਿਯੰ ॥

eim baat jabai nrip te suniyan |

When they heard the king saying in this manner,

ਗ੍ਰਹ ਬੈਠ ਸਬੈ ਦਿਜ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਯੰ ॥

grah baitth sabai dij mantr keeyan |

All the Brahmins sat in their houses and decided,

ਅਜ ਸੈਨ ਅਜੈ ਭਟ ਦਾਸ ਸੁਤੰ ॥

aj sain ajai bhatt daas sutan |

That this son of maid-servant is unconquerable hero and his army is unconquerable.

ਅਤ ਦੁਹਕਰ ਕੁਤਸਿਤ ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਮਤੰ ॥੭॥੨੯੭॥

at duhakar kutasit kraoor matan |7|297|

He is very stern and a man of vicious intellect and actions.7.297.

ਮਿਲ ਖਾਇ ਤਉ ਖੋਵੈ ਜਨਮ ਜਗੰ ॥

mil khaae tau khovai janam jagan |

If we eat in his company, then we lose our birth in the world

ਨਹਿ ਖਾਤ ਤੁ ਜਾਤ ਹੈ ਕਾਲ ਮਗੰ ॥

neh khaat tu jaat hai kaal magan |

If we do not eat, then we will have to go in the jaws of death.

ਮਿਲ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਕਉਨ ਮਤੰ ॥

mil mitr su keejai kaun matan |

After assembling we should take such decision,

ਜਿਹ ਭਾਤ ਰਹੇ ਜਗ ਆਜ ਪਤੰ ॥੮॥੨੯੮॥

jih bhaat rahe jag aaj patan |8|298|

With which we keep up our honour in the world.8.298.

ਸੁਨ ਰਾਜਨ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਤੰ ॥

sun raajan raaj mahaan matan |

After taking decision, they said to the king : “O king of great intellect, listen,

ਅਨਭੀਤ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਮਸਤ ਛਿਤੰ ॥

anabheet ajeet samasat chhitan |

“Thou art fearless and unconquerable monarch on the whole earth

ਅਨਗਾਹ ਅਥਾਹ ਅਨੰਤ ਦਲੰ ॥

anagaah athaah anant dalan |

“Thou art unfathomable, bottomless and master of innumerable forces

ਅਨਭੰਗ ਅਗੰਜ ਮਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬਲੰ ॥੯॥੨੯੯॥

anabhang aganj mahaa prabalan |9|299|

“Thou art invincible, unassailable and Soverrign of Supreme might.9.299.

ਇਹ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਏਕ ਨਰੰ ॥

eih tthaur na chhatree ek naran |

“There is not even one Kshatriya in this place.

ਸੁਨ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਹਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਜ ਬਰੰ ॥

sun saach mahaa nriparaaj baran |

“O great and superb monarch, listen to his truth.”

ਕਹਿਕੈ ਦਿਜ ਸਉ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਤ ਭਏ ॥

kahikai dij sau utth jaat bhe |

Uttering these words, the Brahmins got up and went away

ਵੇਹ ਆਨਿ ਜਸੂਸ ਬਤਾਇ ਦਏ ॥੧੦॥੩੦੦॥

veh aan jasoos bataae de |10|300|

But the spies gave the news (of the presence of his brothers there).10.300.

ਤਹਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਜੈ ਮਨਿ ਰੋਸ ਬਢੀ ॥

tahaa singh ajai man ros badtee |

Then the anger increased in the mind of Ajai Singh.

ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਚਮੂੰ ਚਤੁਰੰਗ ਚਢੀ ॥

kar kop chamoon chaturang chadtee |

In great rage, he ordered his forces of four types to move forward.

ਤਹ ਜਾਇ ਪਰੀ ਜਹ ਖਤ੍ਰ ਬਰੰ ॥

teh jaae paree jeh khatr baran |

The army reached there where both the superb Kshatriyas were stationed.

ਬਹੁ ਕੂਦਿ ਪਰੇ ਦਿਜ ਸਾਮ ਘਰੰ ॥੧੧॥੩੦੧॥

bahu kood pare dij saam gharan |11|301|

They jumped from the roof of the house into the abode of Sanaudhi Brahmin to take shelter.11.301.

ਦਿਜ ਮੰਡਲ ਬੈਠਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੁ ਕੀਯੋ ॥

dij manddal baitth bichaar keeyo |

The assembly of Brahmins met and reflected on the issue.

ਸਬ ਹੀ ਦਿਜ ਮੰਡਲ ਗੋਦ ਲੀਯੋ ॥

sab hee dij manddal god leeyo |

The whole assembly affectionately kept the two in their midst.

ਕਹੁ ਕਉਨ ਸੁ ਬੈਠਿ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕਰੈ ॥

kahu kaun su baitth bichaar karai |

They ruminated over the issue as to what measures be taken?

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸਾਥ ਰਹੈ ਨਹੀ ਏਊ ਮਰੈ ॥੧੨॥੩੦੨॥

nrip saath rahai nahee eaoo marai |12|302|

So that they may not offend the king and also save the two refugees.12.302.

ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਤਾਹਿ ਸਭੈ ॥

eih bhaat kahee tih taeh sabhai |

When they said these words, then all of them desired:

ਤੁਮ ਤੋਰ ਜਨੇਵਨ ਦੇਹੁ ਅਬੈ ॥

tum tor janevan dehu abai |

“Break the secred threads immediately.”

ਜੋਊ ਮਾਨਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੋਈ ਲੇਤ ਭਏ ॥

joaoo maan kahiyo soee let bhe |

Those who accepted it, they became without the thread.

ਤੇਊ ਬੈਸ ਹੁਇ ਬਾਣਜ ਕਰਤ ਭਏ ॥੧੩॥੩੦੩॥

teaoo bais hue baanaj karat bhe |13|303|

They became Vaishyas and took trade as their occupation.13.303.

ਜਿਹ ਤੋਰ ਜਨੇਊ ਨ ਕੀਨ ਹਠੰ ॥

jih tor janeaoo na keen hatthan |

Those who did not dare to break the thread doggedly

ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਉਨ ਭੋਜੁ ਕੀਓ ਇਕਠੰ ॥

tin siau un bhoj keeo ikatthan |

The two refugee kings dined together with them.

ਫਿਰ ਜਾਇ ਜਸੂਸਹਿ ਐਸ ਕਹਿਓ ॥

fir jaae jasooseh ais kahio |

Them the spies went and told (the king Ajai Singh),

ਇਨ ਮੈ ਉਨ ਮੈ ਇਕ ਭੇਦੁ ਰਹਿਓ ॥੧੪॥੩੦੪॥

ein mai un mai ik bhed rahio |14|304|

There is one difference between the former and the latter.14.304.

ਪੁਨਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸਰਬ ਦਿਜੰ ॥

pun bol utthiyo nrip sarab dijan |

Then the king (Ajai Singh) addressed all his Brahmins:

ਨਹਿ ਛਤ੍ਰਤੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੁਤਾਹਿ ਤੁਅੰ ॥

neh chhatrat dehu sutaeh tuan |

“If there is no Kshatriya amongst them, then give your daughters in marriage to them.”

ਮਰਿਗੇ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਾਤ ਮਨੋ ਸਬ ਹੀ ॥

marige sun baat mano sab hee |

Hearing these words none replied as though they were dead.

ਉਠਿ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਜਾਤ ਭਏ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥੧੫॥੩੦੫॥

autth kai grihi jaat bhe tab hee |15|305|

Then they got up and went away to their homes.15.305.

ਸਭ ਬੈਠਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਨ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਲਗੇ ॥

sabh baitth bichaaran mantr lage |

Then all gathered to take a decision.

ਸਭ ਸੋਕ ਕੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਬੀਚ ਡੁਬੇ ॥

sabh sok ke saagar beech ddube |

All of them seemed to have been drowned in the ocean of sorrow.

ਵਹਿ ਬਾਧ ਬਹਿਠ ਅਤਿ ਤੇਊ ਹਠੰ ॥

veh baadh bahitth at teaoo hatthan |

He (Ajai Singh) wants to bind his brothers and the Brahmins were full of persistence,

ਹਮ ਏ ਦੋਊ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਚਲੈ ਇਕਠੰ ॥੧੬॥੩੦੬॥

ham e doaoo bhraat chalai ikatthan |16|306|

We shall all side together with the brothers.’16.306.

ਹਠ ਕੀਨ ਦਿਜੈ ਤਿਨ ਲੀਨ ਸੁਤਾ ॥

hatth keen dijai tin leen sutaa |

The Sanaudh Brahmin persisted in not returning the refugee brothers, then the king Ajai Singh married his daughter.

ਅਤਿ ਰੂਪ ਮਹਾ ਛਬਿ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ॥

at roop mahaa chhab param prabhaa |

She was very beautiful, winsome and glorious.

ਤ੍ਰਿਯੋ ਪੇਟ ਸਨੌਢ ਤੇ ਪੂਤ ਭਏ ॥

triyo pett sanauadt te poot bhe |

The sons born of that Sanaudh woman,

ਵਹਿ ਜਾਤਿ ਸਨੌਢ ਕਹਾਤ ਭਏ ॥੧੭॥੩੦੭॥

veh jaat sanauadt kahaat bhe |17|307|

Were called Sanaudh.17.307.

ਸੁਤ ਅਉਰਨ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਠਾ ਜੁ ਅਹੈ ॥

sut aauran ke uh tthaa ju ahai |

The sons of other kshatryas, who lived at that place,

ਉਤ ਛਤ੍ਰੀਅ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਭਏ ॥

aut chhatreea jaat anek bhe |

They became Kshatriyas of many junior ccastes.

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਾਤੁ ਭਏ ॥

nrip ke sang jo mil jaat bhe |

Those Brahmins who ate together with the king.

ਨਰ ਸੋ ਰਜਪੂਤ ਕਹਾਤ ਭਏ ॥੧੮॥੩੦੮॥

nar so rajapoot kahaat bhe |18|308|

They were called Rajputs.18.308.

ਤਿਨ ਜੀਤ ਬਿਜੈ ਕਹੁ ਰਾਉ ਚੜ︀ਯੋ ॥

tin jeet bijai kahu raau charrayo |

After conquering them, the king (Ajai Singh) moved to gain further conquests.

ਅਤਿ ਤੇਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੁ ਬਢ︀ਯੋ ॥

at tej prachandd prataap badtayo |

His glory and magnificence increased enormously.

ਜੋਊ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਰੁ ਸਾਕ ਦਏ ॥

joaoo aan mile ar saak de |

Those who surrendered before him and married their daughters to him,

ਨਰ ਤੇ ਰਜਪੂਤ ਕਹਾਤ ਭਏ ॥੧੯॥੩੦੯॥

nar te rajapoot kahaat bhe |19|309|

They were also called Rajputs.19.309.

ਜਿਨ ਸਾਕ ਦਏ ਨਹਿ ਰਾਰਿ ਬਢੀ ॥

jin saak de neh raar badtee |

Those who did not marry their daughters, the wrangle increased with them.

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਇਨ ਲੈ ਜੜ ਮੂਲ ਕਢੀ ॥

tin kee in lai jarr mool kadtee |

He (the king) completely uprooted them.

ਦਲ ਤੇ ਬਲ ਤੇ ਧਨ ਟੂਟਿ ਗਏ ॥

dal te bal te dhan ttoott ge |

The armies, might and wealth were finished.

ਵਹਿ ਲਾਗਤ ਬਾਨਜ ਕਰਮ ਭਏ ॥੨੦॥੩੧੦॥

veh laagat baanaj karam bhe |20|310|

And they adopted the occupation of traders.20.310.

ਜੋਊ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਨਹਿ ਜੋਰਿ ਲਰੇ ॥

joaoo aan mile neh jor lare |

Those who did not surrender and fought violently,

ਵਹਿ ਬਾਧ ਮਹਾਗਨਿ ਹੋਮ ਕਰੇ ॥

veh baadh mahaagan hom kare |

Their bodies were bound and reduced to ashes in big fires.

ਅਨਗੰਧ ਜਰੇ ਮਹਾ ਕੁੰਡ ਅਨਲੰ ॥

anagandh jare mahaa kundd analan |

They were burnt in the fire-altar-pit uninformed.

ਭਇਓ ਛਤ੍ਰੀਅ ਮੇਧੁ ਮਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬਲੰ ॥੨੧॥੩੧੧॥

bheo chhatreea medh mahaa prabalan |21|311|

Thus there was a very great sacrifice of Kshatriyas.21.311.

ਇਤਿ ਅਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾ ਰਾਜ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਭਇਆ ॥

eit ajai singh kaa raaj sanpooran bheaa |

Here ends the complete Description of the Rule of Ajai Singh.

Gauree, First Mehl:

ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਚੀਤੁ ॥

kaam krodh maaeaa meh cheet |

The conscious mind is engrossed in sexual desire, anger and Maya.

ਝੂਠ ਵਿਕਾਰਿ ਜਾਗੈ ਹਿਤ ਚੀਤੁ ॥

jhootth vikaar jaagai hit cheet |

The conscious mind is awake only to falsehood, corruption and attachment.

ਪੂੰਜੀ ਪਾਪ ਲੋਭ ਕੀ ਕੀਤੁ ॥

poonjee paap lobh kee keet |

It gathers in the assets of sin and greed.

ਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੀ ਮਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਚੀਤੁ ॥੧॥

tar taaree man naam sucheet |1|

So swim across the river of life, O my mind, with the Sacred Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਾਚੇ ਮੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ॥

vaahu vaahu saache mai teree ttek |

Waaho! Waaho! - Great! Great is my True Lord! I seek Your All-powerful Support.

ਹਉ ਪਾਪੀ ਤੂੰ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਏਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

hau paapee toon niramal ek |1| rahaau |

I am a sinner - You alone are pure. ||1||Pause||

ਅਗਨਿ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੋਲੈ ਭੜਵਾਉ ॥

agan paanee bolai bharravaau |

Fire and water join together, and the breath roars in its fury!

ਜਿਹਵਾ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਏਕੁ ਸੁਆਉ ॥

jihavaa indree ek suaau |

The tongue and the sex organs each seek to taste.

ਦਿਸਟਿ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਭਉ ਭਾਉ ॥

disatt vikaaree naahee bhau bhaau |

The eyes which look upon corruption do not know the Love and the Fear of God.

ਆਪੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਾ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਉ ॥੨॥

aap maare taa paae naau |2|

Conquering self-conceit, one obtains the Name. ||2||

ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥

sabad marai fir maran na hoe |

One who dies in the Word of the Shabad, shall never again have to die.

ਬਿਨੁ ਮੂਏ ਕਿਉ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਇ ॥

bin mooe kiau pooraa hoe |

Without such a death, how can one attain perfection?

ਪਰਪੰਚਿ ਵਿਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਦੋਇ ॥

parapanch viaap rahiaa man doe |

The mind is engrossed in deception, treachery and duality.

ਥਿਰੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥

thir naaraaein kare su hoe |3|

Whatever the Immortal Lord does, comes to pass. ||3||

ਬੋਹਿਥਿ ਚੜਉ ਜਾ ਆਵੈ ਵਾਰੁ ॥

bohith chrrau jaa aavai vaar |

So get aboard that boat when your turn comes.

ਠਾਕੇ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਰ ॥

tthaake bohith daragah maar |

Those who fail to embark upon that boat shall be beaten in the Court of the Lord.

ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੁ ॥

sach saalaahee dhan guraduaar |

Blessed is that Gurdwara, the Guru's Gate, where the Praises of the True Lord are sung.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੭॥

naanak dar ghar ekankaar |4|7|

O Nanak, the One Creator Lord is pervading hearth and home. ||4||7||

Gauree, First Mehl:

ਉਲਟਿਓ ਕਮਲੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥

aulattio kamal braham beechaar |

The inverted heart-lotus has been turned upright, through reflective meditation on God.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰ ਗਗਨਿ ਦਸ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥

amrit dhaar gagan das duaar |

From the Sky of the Tenth Gate, the Ambrosial Nectar trickles down.

ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੧॥

tribhavan bedhiaa aap muraar |1|

The Lord Himself is pervading the three worlds. ||1||

ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥

re man mere bharam na keejai |

O my mind, do not give in to doubt.

ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨਿਐ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

man maaniai amrit ras peejai |1| rahaau |

When the mind surrenders to the Name, it drinks in the essence of Ambrosial Nectar. ||1||Pause||

ਜਨਮੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਮਰਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥

janam jeet maran man maaniaa |

So win the game of life; let your mind surrender and accept death.

ਆਪਿ ਮੂਆ ਮਨੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥

aap mooaa man man te jaaniaa |

When the self dies, the individual mind comes to know the Supreme Mind.

ਨਜਰਿ ਭਈ ਘਰੁ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੨॥

najar bhee ghar ghar te jaaniaa |2|

As the inner vision is awakened, one comes to know one's own home, deep within the self. ||2||

ਜਤੁ ਸਤੁ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਮਜਨੁ ਨਾਮਿ ॥

jat sat teerath majan naam |

The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is austerity, chastity and cleansing baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.

ਅਧਿਕ ਬਿਥਾਰੁ ਕਰਉ ਕਿਸੁ ਕਾਮਿ ॥

adhik bithaar krau kis kaam |

What good are ostentatious displays?

ਨਰ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮਿ ॥੩॥

nar naaraaein antarajaam |3|

The All-pervading Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||3||

ਆਨ ਮਨਉ ਤਉ ਪਰ ਘਰ ਜਾਉ ॥

aan mnau tau par ghar jaau |

If I had faith in someone else, then I would go to that one's house.

ਕਿਸੁ ਜਾਚਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਥਾਉ ॥

kis jaachau naahee ko thaau |

But where should I go, to beg? There is no other place for me.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੪॥੮॥

naanak guramat sehaj samaau |4|8|

O Nanak, through the Guru's Teachings, I am intuitively absorbed in the Lord. ||4||8||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਦਿਖਾਏ ॥

satigur milai su maran dikhaae |

Meeting the True Guru, we are shown the way to die.

ਮਰਣ ਰਹਣ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਾਏ ॥

maran rehan ras antar bhaae |

Remaining alive in this death brings joy deep within.

ਗਰਬੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਗਗਨ ਪੁਰੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥

garab nivaar gagan pur paae |1|

Overcoming egotistical pride, the Tenth Gate is found. ||1||

ਮਰਣੁ ਲਿਖਾਇ ਆਏ ਨਹੀ ਰਹਣਾ ॥

maran likhaae aae nahee rahanaa |

Death is pre-ordained - no one who comes can remain here.

ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਾਪਿ ਰਹਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

har jap jaap rehan har saranaa |1| rahaau |

So chant and meditate on the Lord, and remain in the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਭਾਗੈ ॥

satigur milai ta dubidhaa bhaagai |

Meeting the True Guru, duality is dispelled.

ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਾਸਿ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਾਗੈ ॥

kamal bigaas man har prabh laagai |

The heart-lotus blossoms forth, and the mind is attached to the Lord God.

ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਆਗੈ ॥੨॥

jeevat marai mahaa ras aagai |2|

One who remains dead while yet alive obtains the greatest happiness hereafter. ||2||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸਚ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਸੂਚਾ ॥

satigur miliai sach sanjam soochaa |

Meeting the True Guru, one becomes truthful, chaste and pure.

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪਉੜੀ ਊਚੋ ਊਚਾ ॥

gur kee paurree aoocho aoochaa |

Climbing up the steps of the Guru's Path, one becomes the highest of the high.

ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਮੂਚਾ ॥੩॥

karam milai jam kaa bhau moochaa |3|

When the Lord grants His Mercy, the fear of death is conquered. ||3||

ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਮਿਲਿ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥

gur miliai mil ank samaaeaa |

Uniting in Guru's Union, we are absorbed in His Loving Embrace.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਘਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥

kar kirapaa ghar mehal dikhaaeaa |

Granting His Grace, He reveals the Mansion of His Presence, within the home of the self.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੯॥

naanak haumai maar milaaeaa |4|9|

O Nanak, conquering egotism, we are absorbed into the Lord. ||4||9||
