Fourth Mehl:
ਜਿਸ ਦੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੁ ਅਲਾਏ ॥
jis dai andar sach hai so sachaa naam mukh sach alaae |
Those, within whom the Truth dwells, obtain the True Name; they speak only the Truth.
ਓਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਦਾ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਨੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
ohu har maarag aap chaladaa horanaa no har maarag paae |
They walk on the Lord's Path, and inspire others to walk on the Lord's Path as well.
ਜੇ ਅਗੈ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਹੋਇ ਤਾ ਮਲੁ ਲਹੈ ਛਪੜਿ ਨਾਤੈ ਸਗਵੀ ਮਲੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
je agai teerath hoe taa mal lahai chhaparr naatai sagavee mal laae |
Bathing in a pool of holy water, they are washed clean of filth. But, by bathing in a stagnant pond, they are contaminated with even more filth.
ਤੀਰਥੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
teerath pooraa satiguroo jo anadin har har naam dhiaae |
The True Guru is the Perfect Pool of Holy Water. Night and day, He meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਓਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਛੁਟਾ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਿਉ ਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਛਡਾਏ ॥
ohu aap chhuttaa kuttanb siau de har har naam sabh srisatt chhaddaae |
He is saved, along with his family; bestowing the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, He saves the whole world.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਿ ਜਪੈ ਅਵਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਏ ॥੨॥
jan naanak tis balihaaranai jo aap japai avaraa naam japaae |2|
Servant Nanak is a sacrifice to one who himself chants the Naam, and inspires others to chant it as well. ||2||

Pauree:
ਇਕਿ ਕੰਦ ਮੂਲੁ ਚੁਣਿ ਖਾਹਿ ਵਣ ਖੰਡਿ ਵਾਸਾ ॥
eik kand mool chun khaeh van khandd vaasaa |
Some pick and eat fruits and roots, and live in the wilderness.
ਇਕਿ ਭਗਵਾ ਵੇਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਸੰਨਿਆਸਾ ॥
eik bhagavaa ves kar fireh jogee saniaasaa |
Some wander around wearing saffron robes, as Yogis and Sanyaasees.
ਅੰਦਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਛਾਦਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
andar trisanaa bahut chhaadan bhojan kee aasaa |
But there is still so much desire within them-they still yearn for clothes and food.
ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਨ ਗਿਰਹੀ ਨ ਉਦਾਸਾ ॥
birathaa janam gavaae na girahee na udaasaa |
They waste their lives uselessly; they are neither householders nor renunciates.
ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਸਿਰਹੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਮਨਸਾ ॥
jamakaal sirahu na utarai tribidh manasaa |
The Messenger of Death hangs over their heads, and they cannot escape the three-phased desire.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨੇੜੈ ਜਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸਾ ॥
guramatee kaal na aavai nerrai jaa hovai daasan daasaa |
Death does not even approach those who follow the Guru's Teachings, and become the slaves of the Lord's slaves.
ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਉਦਾਸਾ ॥
sachaa sabad sach man ghar hee maeh udaasaa |
The True Word of the Shabad abides in their true minds; within the home of their own inner beings, they remain detached.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਆਸਾ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੫॥
naanak satigur sevan aapanaa se aasaa te niraasaa |5|
O Nanak, those who serve their True Guru, rise from desire to desirelessness. ||5||

Salok, First Mehl:
ਜੇ ਰਤੁ ਲਗੈ ਕਪੜੈ ਜਾਮਾ ਹੋਇ ਪਲੀਤੁ ॥
je rat lagai kaparrai jaamaa hoe paleet |
If one's clothes are stained with blood, the garment becomes polluted.
ਜੋ ਰਤੁ ਪੀਵਹਿ ਮਾਣਸਾ ਤਿਨ ਕਿਉ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਚੀਤੁ ॥
jo rat peeveh maanasaa tin kiau niramal cheet |
Those who suck the blood of human beings-how can their consciousness be pure?
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਉ ਖੁਦਾਇ ਕਾ ਦਿਲਿ ਹਛੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥
naanak naau khudaae kaa dil hachhai mukh lehu |
O Nanak, chant the Name of God, with heart-felt devotion.
ਅਵਰਿ ਦਿਵਾਜੇ ਦੁਨੀ ਕੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰੇਹੁ ॥੧॥
avar divaaje dunee ke jhootthe amal karehu |1|
Everything else is just a pompous worldly show, and the practice of false deeds. ||1||

First Mehl:
ਜਾ ਹਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਆਖਾ ਕਿਹੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਵਾ ॥
jaa hau naahee taa kiaa aakhaa kihu naahee kiaa hovaa |
Since I am no one, what can I say? Since I am nothing, what can I be?
ਕੀਤਾ ਕਰਣਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਕਥਨਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਭਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਧੋਵਾਂ ॥
keetaa karanaa kahiaa kathanaa bhariaa bhar bhar dhovaan |
As He created me, so I act. As He causes me to speak, so I speak. I am full and overflowing with sins-if only I could wash them away!
ਆਪਿ ਨ ਬੁਝਾ ਲੋਕ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਐਸਾ ਆਗੂ ਹੋਵਾਂ ॥
aap na bujhaa lok bujhaaee aisaa aagoo hovaan |
I do not understand myself, and yet I try to teach others. Such is the guide I am!
ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਧਾ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਦਸੇ ਰਾਹੈ ਸਭਸੁ ਮੁਹਾਏ ਸਾਥੈ ॥
naanak andhaa hoe kai dase raahai sabhas muhaae saathai |
O Nanak, the one who is blind shows others the way, and misleads all his companions.
ਅਗੈ ਗਇਆ ਮੁਹੇ ਮੁਹਿ ਪਾਹਿ ਸੁ ਐਸਾ ਆਗੂ ਜਾਪੈ ॥੨॥
agai geaa muhe muhi paeh su aisaa aagoo jaapai |2|
But, going to the world hereafter, he shall be beaten and kicked in the face; then, it will be obvious, what sort of guide he was! ||2||

Pauree:
ਮਾਹਾ ਰੁਤੀ ਸਭ ਤੂੰ ਘੜੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
maahaa rutee sabh toon gharree moorat veechaaraa |
Through all the months and the seasons, the minutes and the hours, I dwell upon You, O Lord.
ਤੂੰ ਗਣਤੈ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਚੇ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
toon ganatai kinai na paaeo sache alakh apaaraa |
No one has attained You by clever calculations, O True, Unseen and Infinite Lord.
ਪੜਿਆ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਬੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
parriaa moorakh aakheeai jis lab lobh ahankaaraa |
That scholar who is full of greed, arrogant pride and egotism, is known to be a fool.
ਨਾਉ ਪੜੀਐ ਨਾਉ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
naau parreeai naau bujheeai guramatee veechaaraa |
So read the Name, and realize the Name, and contemplate the Guru's Teachings.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਖਟਿਆ ਭਗਤੀ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
guramatee naam dhan khattiaa bhagatee bhare bhanddaaraa |
Through the Guru's Teachings, I have earned the wealth of the Naam; I possess the storehouses, overflowing with devotion to the Lord.
ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚਿਆਰਾ ॥
niramal naam maniaa dar sachai sachiaaraa |
Believing in the Immaculate Naam, one is hailed as true, in the True Court of the Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਰਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
jis daa jeeo paraan hai antar jot apaaraa |
The Divine Light of the Infinite Lord, who owns the soul and the breath of life, is deep within the inner being.
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਇਕੁ ਤੂੰ ਹੋਰੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ॥੬॥
sachaa saahu ik toon hor jagat vanajaaraa |6|
You alone are the True Banker, O Lord; the rest of the world is just Your petty trader. ||6||

Salok, First Mehl:
ਮਿਹਰ ਮਸੀਤਿ ਸਿਦਕੁ ਮੁਸਲਾ ਹਕੁ ਹਲਾਲੁ ਕੁਰਾਣੁ ॥
mihar maseet sidak musalaa hak halaal kuraan |
Let mercy be your mosque, faith your prayer-mat, and honest living your Koran.
ਸਰਮ ਸੁੰਨਤਿ ਸੀਲੁ ਰੋਜਾ ਹੋਹੁ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਣੁ ॥
saram sunat seel rojaa hohu musalamaan |
Make modesty your circumcision, and good conduct your fast. In this way, you shall be a true Muslim.
ਕਰਣੀ ਕਾਬਾ ਸਚੁ ਪੀਰੁ ਕਲਮਾ ਕਰਮ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥
karanee kaabaa sach peer kalamaa karam nivaaj |
Let good conduct be your Kaabaa, Truth your spiritual guide, and the karma of good deeds your prayer and chant.
ਤਸਬੀ ਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵਸੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਖੈ ਲਾਜ ॥੧॥
tasabee saa tis bhaavasee naanak rakhai laaj |1|
Let your rosary be that which is pleasing to His Will. O Nanak, God shall preserve your honor. ||1||

ROOAAL STANZA
ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਰਿਤਜ ਕੋਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
kott kott bulaae ritaj kott braham bulaae |
Million of ritual-conscious Brahmins were called.
ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਬਨਾਇ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਭੋਗੀਅਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਇ ॥
kott kott banaae binjan bhogeeeh bahu bhaae |
Million of different foods were prepared which were enjoyed with relish.
ਜਤ੍ਰ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਗ੍ਰਕਾ ਕਹੂੰ ਲਾਗ ਹੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਇ ॥
jatr tatr samagrakaa kahoon laag hai nriparaae |
Many chief Sovereigns were busy in collecting required materials.
ਰਾਜਸੂਇ ਕਰਹਿ ਲਗੇ ਸਭ ਧਰਮ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ ਚਾਇ ॥੧॥੧੪੨॥
raajasooe kareh lage sabh dharam ko chit chaae |1|142|
Thus, the Rajsu sacrifice began to be performed with religious zeal.1.142.
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਸੁਵਰਨ ਕੋ ਦਿਜ ਏਕ ਦੀਜੈ ਭਾਰ ॥
ek ek suvaran ko dij ek deejai bhaar |
The orders were given for giving one load of gold to each Brahmin.
ਏਕ ਸਉ ਗਜ ਏਕ ਸਉ ਰਥਿ ਦੁਇ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਤੁਖਾਰ ॥
ek sau gaj ek sau rath due sahansr tukhaar |
One hundred elephants, one hundred chariots and two thousand horses
ਸਹੰਸ ਚਤੁਰ ਸੁਵਰਨ ਸਿੰਗੀ ਮਹਿਖ ਦਾਨ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
sahans chatur suvaran singee mahikh daan apaar |
And also four thousand cow with gilded horns and innumerable buffalos in charity
ਏਕ ਏਕਹਿ ਦੀਜੀਐ ਸੁਨ ਰਾਜ ਰਾਜ ਅਉਤਾਰ ॥੨॥੧੪੩॥
ek ekeh deejeeai sun raaj raaj aautaar |2|143|
Listen O Chief of the Kings, give these gifts to each Brahmin.2.143.
ਸੁਵਰਨ ਦਾਨ ਸੁ ਦਾਨ ਰੁਕਮ ਦਾਨ ਸੁ ਤਾਬ੍ਰ ਦਾਨ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
suvaran daan su daan rukam daan su taabr daan anant |
Innumerable articles like gold, silver and copper were given in charity.
ਅੰਨ ਦਾਨ ਅਨੰਤ ਦੀਜਤ ਦੇਖ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥
an daan anant deejat dekh deen durant |
Innumerable alms of grain were given to many gathered poor people.
ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਦਾਨ ਪਟੰਬ੍ਰ ਦਾਨ ਸੁ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਦਾਨ ਦਿਜੰਤ ॥
basatr daan pattanbr daan su sasatr daan dijant |
Other items given in charity were the common clothes, silken clothes and weapons.
ਭੂਪ ਭਿਛਕ ਹੁਇ ਗਏ ਸਬ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥੩॥੧੪੪॥
bhoop bhichhak hue ge sab des des durant |3|144|
The beggars from many countries became well-off.3.144.
ਚਤ੍ਰ ਕੋਸ ਬਨਾਹਿ ਕੁੰਡਕ ਸਹਸ੍ਰ ਲਾਇ ਪਰਨਾਰ ॥
chatr kos banaeh kunddak sahasr laae paranaar |
The fire-altar extended upto four kos and had one thousand drains.
ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਹੋਮ ਕਰੈ ਲਗੈ ਦਿਜ ਬੇਦ ਬਿਆਸ ਅਉਤਾਰ ॥
sahansr hom karai lagai dij bed biaas aautaar |
One thousand Brahmins, considered incarnations of Ved Vyas, began the performance of sacrifice.
ਹਸਤ ਸੁੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੀ ਪਰਤ ਧਾਰ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
hasat sundd pramaan ghrit kee parat dhaar apaar |
The continuous current of clarified butter of the size of elephant’s trunk fell in the pit.
ਹੋਤ ਭਸਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਲਪਟ ਝਪਟ ਕਰਾਲ ॥੪॥੧੪੫॥
hot bhasam anek binjan lapatt jhapatt karaal |4|145|
Many materials were reduced to ashes by the dreadful flame.4.145.
ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾ ਸਭ ਤੀਰਥ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਤੀਰਥ ਕੋ ਲੈ ਬਾਰ ॥
mritakaa sabh teerath kee sabh teerath ko lai baar |
The earth and water of all the pilgrim-stations was broutht.
ਕਾਸਟਕਾ ਸਭ ਦੇਸ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਦੇਸ ਕੀ ਜਿਉਨਾਰ ॥
kaasattakaa sabh des kee sabh des kee jiaunaar |
Also the fuel-wood and food-materials from all countries
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤਨ ਕੇ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਹੋਮੀਐ ਤਿਹ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
bhaat bhaatan ke mahaa ras homeeai tih maeh |
Various kids of tasteful foods were burnt in the alftar.
ਦੇਖ ਚਕ੍ਰਤ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਜੰਬਰ ਰੀਝ ਹੀ ਨਰ ਨਾਹ ॥੫॥੧੪੬॥
dekh chakrat rahai dijanbar reejh hee nar naah |5|146|
Seeing which the superb Brahmins were astonished and the kings pleased.5.146.
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਿਜੰਨ ਹੋਮੀਐ ਤਿਹ ਆਨ ॥
bhaat bhaat anek bijan homeeai tih aan |
Many and various types of foods were burnt in the altar.
ਚਤੁਰ ਬੇਦ ਪੜੈ ਚਤ੍ਰ ਸਭ ਬਿਪ ਬ︀ਯਾਸ ਸਮਾਨ ॥
chatur bed parrai chatr sabh bip bayaas samaan |
On all the four sides the learned Brahmins were reciting the four Vedas, like Vyas.
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤ ਅਨੇਕ ਭੂਪਤ ਦੇਤ ਦਾਨ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
bhaat bhaat anek bhoopat det daan anant |
Many kings were giving innumerable types of gifts in charity.
ਭੂਮ ਭੂਰ ਉਠੀ ਜਯਤ ਧੁਨ ਜਤ੍ਰ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥੬॥੧੪੭॥
bhoom bhoor utthee jayat dhun jatr tatr durant |6|147|
Here, there and everywhere on the earth infinite strain of victory was sounded.6.147.
ਜੀਤ ਜੀਤ ਮਵਾਸ ਆਸਨ ਅਰਬ ਖਰਬ ਛਿਨਾਇ ॥
jeet jeet mavaas aasan arab kharab chhinaae |
Counquering the rebel kings and seizing the unaccountable wealth and precious things
ਆਨਿ ਆਨਿ ਦੀਏ ਦਿਜਾਨਨ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਕੁਰ ਰਾਇ ॥
aan aan dee dijaanan jag mai kur raae |
(Yusdhishtra) the king of Kuru country brought that wealth and distributed among the Brahmins.
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤ ਅਨੇਕ ਧੂਪ ਸੁ ਧੂਪੀਐ ਤਿਹ ਆਨ ॥
bhaat bhaat anek dhoop su dhoopeeai tih aan |
Many types of fragrant materials were ignited there.
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤ ਉਠੀ ਜਯ ਧੁਨਿ ਜਤ੍ਰ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਦਿਸਾਨ ॥੭॥੧੪੮॥
bhaat bhaat utthee jay dhun jatr tatr disaan |7|148|
Here, there and everywhere in all directions many types of the strains of victory were sounded.7.148.
ਜਰਾਸੰਧਹ ਮਾਰ ਕੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਕੈਰਵਾ ਹਥਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
jaraasandhah maar kai pun kairavaa hath paae |
After slaying Jarasandh and then conquering the Kauravas,
ਰਾਜਸੂਇ ਕੀਓ ਬਡੋ ਮਖਿ ਕਿਸਨ ਕੇ ਮਤਿ ਭਾਇ ॥
raajasooe keeo baddo makh kisan ke mat bhaae |
Yudhishtra performed the great Rajsu sacrifice in consultation with Krishna.
ਰਾਜਸੂਇ ਸੁ ਕੈ ਕਿਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਜੀਤ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
raajasooe su kai kite din jeet satru anant |
Conquering innumerable enemies, for many days, he performed the Rajsu sacrifice.
ਬਾਜਮੇਧ ਅਰੰਭ ਕੀਨੋ ਬੇਦ ਬ︀ਯਾਸ ਮਤੰਤ ॥੮॥੧੪੯॥
baajamedh aranbh keeno bed bayaas matant |8|149|
Then, with the advice of Ved Vyas, he began the performance of horse-sacrifice.8.149.
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਜਗ ਸਮਾਪਤਿਹ ॥
pritham jag samaapatih |
Here ends the First Sacrifice.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਰਣ ਬਧਹ ॥

The Slaying of Sri Baran:
ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਬਰਣੇ ਸੁਕਰਨਿ ਸਿਯਾਮ ਸੁਵਰਨ ਪੂਛ ਸਮਾਨ ॥
chandr barane sukaran siyaam suvaran poochh samaan |
(The Sacrificial horse) is of white colour, black ears having golden tail
ਰਤਨ ਤੁੰਗ ਉਤੰਗ ਬਾਜਤ ਉਚ ਸ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਸਮਾਨ ॥
ratan tung utang baajat uch sravaah samaan |
With eyes high and wide and lofty neck like Unhchyishravas
ਨਿਰਤ ਕਰਤ ਚਲੈ ਧਰਾ ਪਰਿ ਕਾਮ ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਇ ॥
nirat karat chalai dharaa par kaam roop prabhaae |
He walks on the earth with dancing pose, glorious in beauty like Cupid.
ਦੇਖਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਛਕੈ ਸਭੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਰੀਝਿ ਇਉ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਇ ॥੯॥੧੫੦॥
dekh dekh chhakai sabhai nrip reejh iau nriparaae |9|150|
On seeing him all the kings are pleased and also (Yudhishtra) the king of king.9.150.
ਬੀਣ ਬੇਣ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਬਾਜਤ ਬਾਸੁਰੀ ਸੁਰਨਾਇ ॥
been ben mridang baajat baasuree suranaae |

Dhol, Dholak, Khanjari, Daph and Jhaanjh are also being played.
ਜੰਗ ਘੁੰਘਰੂ ਟਲਕਾ ਉਪਜੰਤ ਰਾਗ ਅਨੰਤ ॥੧੦॥੧੫੧॥

ਜਾਤ ਜਉਨ ਦਿਸਾਨ ਕੇ ਪਛ ਲਾਗ ਹੀ ਸਿਰਦਾਰ ॥
jaat jaun disaan ke pachh laag hee siradaar |
Wherever the horse named Sri Barn goes, the army chiefs follow him.
ਜਉਨ ਬਾਧ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਜੂਝਤ ਜੀਤੀਐ ਕਰਿ ਜੁਧ ॥
jaun baadh turang joojhat jeeteeai kar judh |
Whosoever chains the horse, they fight with him and conquer him.
ਆਨ ਜੌਨ ਮਿਲੈ ਬਚੈ ਨਹਿ ਮਾਰੀਐ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ॥੧੧॥੧੫੨॥
aan jauan milai bachai neh maareeai kar krudh |11|152|
He who receives them, he is saved, otherwise one who confronts, is violently killed.11.152.
ਹੈਯ ਫੇਰ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਸਾਨ ਮੈ ਸਭ ਜੀਤ ਕੈ ਛਿਤਪਾਲ ॥
haiy fer chaar disaan mai sabh jeet kai chhitapaal |

ਬਾਜਮੇਧ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਸਪੂਰਨ ਅਮਿਤ ਜਗ ਰਿਸਾਲ ॥

Including diamonds, common clothes, silken clothes and many loads of gold.
ਦੁਸਟ ਪੁਸਟ ਤ੍ਰਸੇ ਸਬੈ ਥਰਹਰਿਓ ਸੁਨਿ ਗਿਰਰਾਇ ॥
