Dohira
ਐਸੇ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤਹ ਤੇ ਕਿਯੋ ਪਯਾਨ ॥
aise bachan uchaar triy teh te kiyo payaan |
After making such commitments, she departed from the place,
ਪਲਕ ਏਕ ਬੀਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਤਹਾ ਪਹੂੰਚੀ ਆਨਿ ॥੧੧॥
palak ek beetee nahee tahaa pahoonchee aan |11|
And in the twinkling of eyes, arrived at the place.(11)

Savaiyya
ਦੇਖਿ ਤਪੋਧਨ ਕੌ ਬਨ ਮਾਨਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
dekh tapodhan kau ban maanan mohi rahee man mai sukh paayo |
On seeing the sage Ban, she was infatuated, and felt relieved.
ਖਾਤ ਬਿਭਾਡਵ ਜੂ ਫਲ ਥੋ ਤਿਨ ਡਾਰਿਨ ਸੋ ਪਕਵਾਨ ਲਗਾਯੋ ॥
khaat bibhaaddav joo fal tho tin ddaarin so pakavaan lagaayo |
Instead of fruits from the branches of the trees, she laid down various delicacies for the son of Bibhandav.
ਭੂਖ ਲਗੀ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਮੁਨਿ ਕੌ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤਹ ਠੌਰ ਛੁਧਾਤਰ ਆਯੋ ॥
bhookh lagee jab hee mun kau tab hee teh tthauar chhudhaatar aayo |
When the sage felt hungry, he came to the place.
ਤੇ ਫਲ ਖਾਇ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਬਿਸਮਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਮੋਦ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥੧੨॥
te fal khaae rahiyo bisamaae mahaa man bheetar mod badtaayo |12|
He ate those viands and experienced a great satisfaction in his mind.(12)
ਸੋਚ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਯੋ ਚਿਤ ਮੋ ਮੁਨਿ ਏ ਫਲ ਦੈਵ ਕਹਾ ਉਪਜਾਯੋ ॥
soch bichaar keeyo chit mo mun e fal daiv kahaa upajaayo |
He thought, ‘Have these fruits grown on these trees.
ਕਾਨਨ ਮੈ ਨਿਰਖੇ ਨਹਿ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਨ ਆਜੁ ਲਗੇ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਚਬਾਯੋ ॥
kaanan mai nirakhe neh netran aaj lage kabahoon na chabaayo |
‘I have never seen them through my own eyes in this jungle before.
ਕੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਬਲੁ ਕੈ ਛਲੁ ਕੈ ਹਮਰੇ ਤਪ ਕੋ ਅਵਿਲੋਕਨ ਆਯੋ ॥
kai maghavaa bal kai chhal kai hamare tap ko avilokan aayo |
‘It could be Lord Indra, himself, who had grown them to test me,
ਕੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਮੋ ਪਰ ਮੋਰੇ ਰਿਝਾਵਨ ਕਾਜ ਬਨਾਯੋ ॥੧੩॥
kai jagadees kripaa kar mo par more rijhaavan kaaj banaayo |13|
‘Or could it be that the God, to reward me, has endowed me these.’(13)
ਆਨੰਦ ਯੌ ਉਪਜ︀ਯੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਚੌਕ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਬਨ ਕੇ ਫਲ ਖੈ ਕੈ ॥
aanand yau upajayo man mai mun chauak rahiyo ban ke fal khai kai |
After relishing them, he felt being taken aback.
ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਕਛੂ ਇਨ ਮੈ ਕਹਿ ਐਸੇ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਚਿਤੈ ਕੈ ॥
kaaran hai su kachhoo in mai keh aise rahiyo chahoon or chitai kai |
Looking around in all the four corners he thought, ‘There must be some reason behind this.’
ਹਾਰ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਧਰੇ ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਠਾਢੀ ਤਹਾ ਮਨ ਮੋਦ ਬਢੈ ਕੈ ॥
haar singaar dhare ik sundar tthaadtee tahaa man mod badtai kai |
He noticed a pretty lady, fully decorated, standing in front him.
ਸੋਭਿਤ ਹੈ ਮਹਿ ਭੂਖਨ ਪੈ ਮਹਿਭੂਖਨ ਕੌ ਮਨੋ ਭੂਖਿਤ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥੧੪॥
sobhit hai meh bhookhan pai mahibhookhan kau mano bhookhit kai kai |14|
He was looking like the symbol of the earthly beauty.(14)
ਜੋਬਨ ਜੇਬ ਜਗੇ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਮਾਨਨਿ ਕਾਨਨ ਬੀਚ ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ॥
joban jeb jage at hee ik maanan kaanan beech biraajai |
In the presence of the wondrous lady, his youth appeared to gleam.
ਨੀਲ ਨਿਚੋਲ ਸੇ ਨੈਨ ਲਸੈ ਦੁਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਮਨੋਜਵ ਕੋ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਜੈ ॥
neel nichol se nain lasai dut dekh manojav ko man laajai |
Her lotus-like eyes sparkled and even the Cupid was made to face modesty.
ਕੋਕ ਕਪੋਤ ਕਲਾਨਿਧਿ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਕੀਰ ਕੁਰੰਗ ਕਹੀ ਕਿਹ ਕਾਜੈ ॥
kok kapot kalaanidh kehar keer kurang kahee kih kaajai |
Rudy sheldrakes, the pigeon, the lions, the parrots, the deer, the elephan ts, all seemed humble in her presence.
ਸੋਕ ਮਿਟੈ ਨਿਰਖੇ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਛਬਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੌ ਹਿਯ ਮੈ ਉਪਰਾਜੈ ॥੧੫॥
sok mittai nirakhe sabh hee chhab aanand kau hiy mai uparaajai |15|
All had cast off their afflictions and were feeling blissful.(15)
ਚਿਤ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕਿਯੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਮੁਨਿ ਹੈ ਯਹ ਤਾਹਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੌ ॥
chit bichaar kiyo apane man ko mun hai yeh taeh nihaarau |
The sage contemplated in his mind, and thought,
ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਕਿ ਜਛ ਭੁਜੰਗ ਕਿਧੌ ਨਰ ਦੇਵ ਰੁ ਦੇਵ ਬਿਚਾਰੌ ॥
dev adev ki jachh bhujang kidhau nar dev ru dev bichaarau |
‘Prom among the gods, devils and Bhujang, who could she be?
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਕੋਊ ਤਾ ਪਰ ਆਜ ਸਭੈ ਤਨ ਵਾਰੌ ॥
raaj kumaar biraajat hai koaoo taa par aaj sabhai tan vaarau |
‘She, rather, looks like a princess, I am sacrifice to her.
ਯਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਤੀਰ ਰਹੌ ਦਿਨ ਰੈਨਿ ਕਰੌ ਤਪਸ︀ਯਾ ਬਨ ਬੀਚ ਬਿਹਾਰੌ ॥੧੬॥
yaahee ko teer rahau din rain karau tapasayaa ban beech bihaarau |16|
‘I will, for ever, stay with her and would continue with my meditation in the jungle.’(16)
ਜਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਕਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੋ ਹਮ ਸੌ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਹੈ ॥
jaae pranaam kiyo tih ko sun baat kaho ham sau tum ko hai |
He came forward and said to her, ‘Please talk to me and tell me who are you?
ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵਨ ਕੀ ਦੁਹਿਤ ਕਿਧੌ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਬਾਮ ਹੁਤੀ ਬਨ ਸੋਹੈ ॥
dev adevan kee duhit kidhau raam kee baam hutee ban sohai |
‘Are you the daughter of either a god or a devil, or you are Rama’s Sita?
ਰਾਜਸਿਰੀ ਕਿਧੌ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰਿ ਤੂ ਜਛ ਭੁਜੰਗਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹੈ ॥
raajasiree kidhau raaj kumaar too jachh bhujangan ke man mohai |
‘Are you a Rani or sovereign princess or are you the daughter of Jachh Or Bhujang (gods)
ਸਾਚ ਉਚਾਰੁ ਸਚੀ ਕਿ ਸਿਵਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਹੀ ਰਤਿ ਹੈ ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਮਗੁ ਜੋਹੈ ॥੧੭॥
saach uchaar sachee ki sivaa ki tuhee rat hai pat ko mag johai |17|
‘Tell me truthfully whether you are Shiva’s consort and waiting for him on the way-side?’(17)
ਨਾਥ ਸਚੀ ਰਤਿ ਹੌ ਨ ਸਿਵਾ ਨਹਿ ਹੌਗੀ ਨ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਈ ॥
naath sachee rat hau na sivaa neh hauagee na raaj kumaar kee jaaee |
(Reply) ‘Oh, my master, listen, I am neither Shiva’s woman nor a sovereign princess.
ਰਾਜਸਿਰੀ ਨਹਿ ਜਛ ਭੁਜੰਗਨਿ ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਨਹੀ ਉਪਜਾਈ ॥
raajasiree neh jachh bhujangan dev adev nahee upajaaee |
‘Neither I am Rani, nor I belong to Jachh, Bhujang, god or devils.
ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਬਾਮ ਨ ਹੋ ਅਥਿਤੀਸ ਰਿਖੀਸ ਉਦਾਲਕ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਜਾਈ ॥
raam kee baam na ho athitees rikhees udaalak kee triy jaaee |
‘Neither I am Rama’s Sita nor I belong to the sage ofthe poor.
ਏਕੁ ਜੁਗੀਸ ਸੁਨੇ ਤੁਮਹੂੰ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਬਰਬੇ ਕਹ ਆਈ ॥੧੮॥
ek jugees sune tumahoon tih te tumare barabe keh aaee |18|
‘I had heard about you as a magnanimous yogi, and I have come to marry you.’(18)
ਚੰਚਲ ਨੈਨ ਕਿ ਚੰਚਲਤਾਈ ਸੋ ਟਾਮਨ ਸੌ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
chanchal nain ki chanchalataaee so ttaaman sau tih ko kar deeno |
Her frolicsome eyes had magical effect on him.
ਹਾਵ ਸੁ ਭਾਵ ਦਿਖਾਇ ਘਨੇ ਛਿਨਕੇਕ ਬਿਖੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਜੂ ਬਸਿ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
haav su bhaav dikhaae ghane chhinakek bikhai mun joo bas keeno |
Through coquetry she enticed him and brought him under her control.
ਪਾਗ ਬੰਧਾਇ ਜਟਾਨ ਮੁੰਡਾਇ ਸੁ ਭੂਖਨ ਅੰਗ ਬਨਾਇ ਨਵੀਨੋ ॥
paag bandhaae jattaan munddaae su bhookhan ang banaae naveeno |
Getting his tresses shaved off, she made him to wear a turban.
ਜੀਤਿ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਕਿਯੋ ਅਪਨੌ ਤਿਹ ਤਾਪਸ ਤੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਸਤੀ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ॥੧੯॥
jeet gulaam kiyo apanau tih taapas te grisatee kar leeno |19|
She won him over and, from a sage, she transformed him into householder.(19)
ਤਾਪਸਤਾਈ ਕੋ ਤ︀ਯਾਗ ਤਪੀਸ੍ਵਰ ਤਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪੈ ਚਿਤ ਕੈ ਉਰਝਾਯੋ ॥
taapasataaee ko tayaag tapeesvar taa triy pai chit kai urajhaayo |
Relinquishing all his austerities, the celibate tUrned into a householder.
ਪਾਇ ਬ੍ਰਤੋਤਮ ਕੌ ਤਰੁਨੀ ਤਨ ਸੋਕ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਅਸੋਕੁਪਜਾਯੋ ॥
paae bratotam kau tarunee tan sok nivaar asokupajaayo |
After winning over the sage the woman eradicated her tribulations.
ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਿਹਾਰਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਾਤ ਸੁਤਾ ਖਟ ਪੂਤੁਪਜਾਯੋ ॥
bhaat anek bihaarat sundar saat sutaa khatt pootupajaayo |
By making love invariably she gave birth to seven boys and six daughters.
ਤ︀ਯਾਗ ਦਯੇ ਬਨ ਕੋ ਬਸਿਬੋ ਪੁਰ ਭੀਤਰ ਕੋ ਬਸਿਯੋ ਮਨ ਭਾਯੋ ॥੨੦॥
tayaag daye ban ko basibo pur bheetar ko basiyo man bhaayo |20|
Then she decided to abdicate the jungle-life and to come and live in the city.(20)
ਏਕ ਮਹਾ ਬਨ ਹੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਹੋ ਮੁਨਿ ਆਜੁ ਚਲੈ ਤਹ ਜਾਇ ਬਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
ek mahaa ban hai sun ho mun aaj chalai teh jaae bihaarai |
‘Listen to me, my sage, there is one beautiful jungle, let us go there and make love.
ਫੂਲ ਘਨੇ ਫਲ ਰਾਜਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਫੂਲਿ ਰਹੇ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੈ ॥
fool ghane fal raajat sundar fool rahe jamunaa ke kinaarai |
There are a lot of fruits and fruit trees and it is situated at the banks of River Jamuna.
ਤ︀ਯਾਗ ਬਿਲੰਬ ਚਲੋ ਤਿਤ ਕੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਾਨਨ ਸੋ ਰਮਨੀਯ ਨਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
tayaag bilanb chalo tith ko tum kaanan so ramaneey nihaarai |
Abandoning this jungle, you must go there because that is much more captivating.
ਕੇਲ ਕਰੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਪਸ ਮੈ ਦੋਊ ਕੰਦ੍ਰਪ ਕੌ ਸਭ ਦ੍ਰਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ॥੨੧॥
kel karai mil aapas mai doaoo kandrap kau sabh drap nivaarai |21|
We will go there, make-love and rend the ego of the Cupid.(21)
ਕਾਨਨ ਜੇਤਿਕ ਥੇ ਤਿਹ ਦੇਸ ਸਭੈ ਅਥਿਤੇਸ ਕੋ ਬਾਲ ਦਿਖਾਏ ॥
kaanan jetik the tih des sabhai athites ko baal dikhaae |
ਕਾਖ ਤੇ ਕੰਕਨ ਕੁੰਡਲ ਕਾਢਿ ਜਰਾਵਕਿ ਜੇਬ ਜਰੇ ਪਹਿਰਾਏ ॥
kaakh te kankan kunddal kaadt jaraavak jeb jare pahiraae |
ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੌ ਲਖਿ ਕੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਜੋਗ ਕੈ ਨ︀ਯਾਸ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਸਰਾਏ ॥
mohi rahiyo tih kau lakh kai mun jog kai nayaas sabhai bisaraae |
ਕਾਹੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧ ਕਿਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਤਾ ਕਹ ਆਪਨ ਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਆਏ ॥੨੨॥
kaahoon prabodh kiyo neh taa keh aapan hee grih mai mun aae |22|
ਗੁੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਹੂਆ ਭਉ ਭਾਠੀ ਮਨ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
gurr kar giaan dhiaan kar mahooaa bhau bhaatthee man dhaaraa |
Make spiritual wisdom the molasses, meditation the flowers, and the Fear of God the fire enshrined in your mind.
ਸੁਖਮਨ ਨਾਰੀ ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਨੀ ਪੀਵੈ ਪੀਵਨਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
sukhaman naaree sehaj samaanee peevai peevanahaaraa |1|
The Shushmanaa, the central spinal channel, is intuitively balanced, and the drinker drinks in this wine. ||1||
ਅਉਧੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਤਵਾਰਾ ॥
aaudhoo meraa man matavaaraa |
O hermit Yogi, my mind is intoxicated.
ਉਨਮਦ ਚਢਾ ਮਦਨ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਨ ਭਇਆ ਉਜਿਆਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aunamad chadtaa madan ras chaakhiaa tribhavan bheaa ujiaaraa |1| rahaau |
When that wine rises up, one tastes the sublime essence of this juice, and sees across the three worlds. ||1||Pause||
ਦੁਇ ਪੁਰ ਜੋਰਿ ਰਸਾਈ ਭਾਠੀ ਪੀਉ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
due pur jor rasaaee bhaatthee peeo mahaa ras bhaaree |
Joining the two channels of the breath, I have lit the furnace, and I drink in the supreme, sublime essence.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਦੁਇ ਕੀਏ ਜਲੇਤਾ ਛੂਟਿ ਗਈ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
kaam krodh due kee jaletaa chhoott gee sansaaree |2|
I have burnt both sexual desire and anger, and I have been emancipated from the world. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਗਿਆਨ ਗੁਰ ਗੰਮਿਤ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
pragatt pragaas giaan gur gamit satigur te sudh paaee |
The light of spiritual wisdom enlightens me; meeting with the Guru, the True Guru, I have obtained this understanding.
ਦਾਸੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਮਦ ਮਾਤਾ ਉਚਕਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥੨॥
daas kabeer taas mad maataa uchak na kabahoo jaaee |3|2|
Slave Kabeer is intoxicated with that wine, which never wears off. ||3||2||
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੋ ਮੇਰੁ ਪਰਬਤੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਮੈ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
toon mero mer parabat suaamee ott gahee mai teree |
You are my Sumayr Mountain, O my Lord and Master; I have grasped Your Support.
ਨਾ ਤੁਮ ਡੋਲਹੁ ਨਾ ਹਮ ਗਿਰਤੇ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥੧॥
naa tum ddolahu naa ham girate rakh leenee har meree |1|
You do not shake, and I do not fall. You have preserved my honor. ||1||
ਅਬ ਤਬ ਜਬ ਕਬ ਤੁਹੀ ਤੁਹੀ ॥
ab tab jab kab tuhee tuhee |
Now and then, here and there, You, only You.
ਹਮ ਤੁਅ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੁਖੀ ਸਦ ਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ham tua parasaad sukhee sad hee |1| rahaau |
By Your Grace, I am forever in peace. ||1||Pause||
ਤੋਰੇ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਮਗਹਰ ਬਸਿਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
tore bharose magahar basio mere tan kee tapat bujhaaee |
Relying upon You, I can live even in the cursed place of Magahar; You have put out the fire of my body.
ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਮਗਹਰ ਪਾਇਓ ਫੁਨਿ ਕਾਸੀ ਬਸੇ ਆਈ ॥੨॥
pahile darasan magahar paaeo fun kaasee base aaee |2|
First, I obtained the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan in Magahar; then, I came to dwell at Benares. ||2||
ਜੈਸਾ ਮਗਹਰੁ ਤੈਸੀ ਕਾਸੀ ਹਮ ਏਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
jaisaa magahar taisee kaasee ham ekai kar jaanee |
As is Magahar, so is Benares; I see them as one and the same.
ਹਮ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਜਿਉ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਰਤੇ ਫੂਟਿ ਗੁਮਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
ham niradhan jiau ihu dhan paaeaa marate foott gumaanee |3|
I am poor, but I have obtained this wealth of the Lord; the proud are bursting with pride, and die. ||3||
ਕਰੈ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ਚੁਭਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੂਲਾ ਕੋ ਕਾਢਨ ਕਉ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
karai gumaan chubheh tis soolaa ko kaadtan kau naahee |
One who takes pride in himself is stuck with thorns; no one can pull them out.
ਅਜੈ ਸੁ ਚੋਭ ਕਉ ਬਿਲਲ ਬਿਲਾਤੇ ਨਰਕੇ ਘੋਰ ਪਚਾਹੀ ॥੪॥
ajai su chobh kau bilal bilaate narake ghor pachaahee |4|
Here, he cries bitterly, and hereafter, he burns in the most hideous hell. ||4||
ਕਵਨੁ ਨਰਕੁ ਕਿਆ ਸੁਰਗੁ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ਸੰਤਨ ਦੋਊ ਰਾਦੇ ॥
kavan narak kiaa surag bichaaraa santan doaoo raade |
What is hell, and what is heaven? The Saints reject them both.
ਹਮ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ਨ ਕਢਤੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੇ ॥੫॥
ham kaahoo kee kaan na kadtate apane gur parasaade |5|
I have no obligation to either of them, by the Grace of my Guru. ||5||
ਅਬ ਤਉ ਜਾਇ ਚਢੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਹੈ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਨੀ ॥
ab tau jaae chadte singhaasan mile hai saaringapaanee |
Now, I have mounted to the throne of the Lord; I have met the Lord, the Sustainer of the World.
ਰਾਮ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਏਕ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥੬॥੩॥
raam kabeeraa ek bhe hai koe na sakai pachhaanee |6|3|
The Lord and Kabeer have become one. No one can tell them apart. ||6||3||
ਸੰਤਾ ਮਾਨਉ ਦੂਤਾ ਡਾਨਉ ਇਹ ਕੁਟਵਾਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
santaa maanau dootaa ddaanau ih kuttavaaree meree |
I honor and obey the Saints, and punish the wicked; this is my duty as God's police officer.
ਦਿਵਸ ਰੈਨਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਉ ਪਲੋਸਉ ਕੇਸ ਚਵਰ ਕਰਿ ਫੇਰੀ ॥੧॥
divas rain tere paau palosau kes chavar kar feree |1|
Day and night, I wash Your feet, Lord; I wave my hair as the chauree, to brush away the flies. ||1||
ਹਮ ਕੂਕਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥
ham kookar tere darabaar |
I am a dog at Your Court, Lord.
ਭਉਕਹਿ ਆਗੈ ਬਦਨੁ ਪਸਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhaukeh aagai badan pasaar |1| rahaau |
I open my snout and bark before it. ||1||Pause||
ਪੂਰਬ ਜਨਮ ਹਮ ਤੁਮੑਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਅਬ ਤਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
poorab janam ham tumare sevak ab tau mittiaa na jaaee |
In my past life, I was Your servant; now, I cannot leave You.
ਤੇਰੇ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਧੁਨਿ ਸਹਜ ਕੀ ਮਾਥੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਗਾਈ ॥੨॥
tere duaarai dhun sehaj kee maathai mere dagaaee |2|
The celestial sound current resounds at Your Door. Your insignia is stamped upon my forehead. ||2||
ਦਾਗੇ ਹੋਹਿ ਸੁ ਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਜੂਝਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਾਗੇ ਭਗਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
daage hohi su ran meh joojheh bin daage bhag jaaee |
Those who are branded with Your brand fight bravely in battle; those without Your brand run away.
ਸਾਧੂ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਹਰਿ ਲਏ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥
saadhoo hoe su bhagat pachhaanai har le khajaanai paaee |3|
One who becomes a Holy person, appreciates the value of devotional worship to the Lord. The Lord places him in His treasury. ||3||
ਕੋਠਰੇ ਮਹਿ ਕੋਠਰੀ ਪਰਮ ਕੋਠੀ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
kotthare meh kottharee param kotthee beechaar |
In the fortress is the chamber; by contemplative meditation it becomes the supreme chamber.
ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਬਸਤੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਉ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਬਸਤੁ ਸਮੑਾਰਿ ॥੪॥
gur deenee basat kabeer kau levahu basat samaar |4|
The Guru has blessed Kabeer with the commodity, saying, "Take this commodity; cherish it and keep it secure." ||4||
ਕਬੀਰਿ ਦੀਈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕਉ ਲੀਨੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥
kabeer deeee sansaar kau leenee jis masatak bhaag |
Kabeer gives it to the world, but he alone receives it, upon whose forehead such destiny is recorded.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਥਿਰੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ॥੫॥੪॥
amrit ras jin paaeaa thir taa kaa sohaag |5|4|
Permanent is the marriage, of one who receives this ambrosial essence. ||5||4||
