ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮ ਮਾਧਵ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥

ਆਦਰੁ ਦੈ ਆਸਨੁ ਬੈਠਾਯੋ ॥
aadar dai aasan baitthaayo |
Bikrim called Madhwan and asked him respectfully to be seated.
ਕਹਸਿ ਦਿਜਾਗ੍ਰਯਾ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੁ ਕਰਿਹੌ ॥
kehas dijaagrayaa dehu su karihau |
(Madhwan said) ‘Whatever the Brahmin priest orders,
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨ ਲਗੇ ਹੇਤੁ ਤੁਹਿ ਲਰਿਹੋ ॥੩੯॥
praanan lage het tuhi lariho |39|
I will abide by, even I may have to fight,’(39)
ਜਬ ਮਾਧਵ ਕਹਿ ਭੇਦ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
jab maadhav keh bhed sunaayo |
When Madhwan told the whole story,
ਤਬ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮ ਸਭ ਸੈਨ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
tab bikram sabh sain bulaayo |
Bikrim called all his army.
ਸਾਜੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਕੌਚ ਤਨ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
saaje sasatr kauach tan dhaare |
Arming themselves and putting the armour
ਕਾਮਵਤੀ ਕੀ ਓਰ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੪੦॥

They commenced march to the direction of Kamwati.(40)

He sent his emissary to (Raja) Kam Sen to give him the message,
ਕਾਮਕੰਦਲਾ ਏਕ ਦੈ ਸਭ ਦੇਸ ਉਬਾਰਿਯੈ ॥੪੧॥
kaamakandalaa ek dai sabh des ubaariyai |41|
‘To save your country, you handover Kaamkandla.’(41)

kaamasain joo ko sir nayaayo |
Kamwati learned what the emissary had conveyed to Kam Sen.
ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੁਨਾਵਾ ॥
bikram kahiyo su taeh sunaavaa |
ਅਧਿਕ ਰਾਵ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਉਪਜਾਵਾ ॥੪੨॥
adhik raav ko dukh upajaavaa |42|
The message from Bikrim had distressed the Raja.(42)

ਨਿਸਿਸਿ ਚੜੇ ਦਿਨ ਕੇ ਭਏ ਨਿਸਿ ਰਵਿ ਕਰੈ ਉਦੋਤ ॥
nisis charre din ke bhe nis rav karai udot |
(Raja,) ‘Moon may shine during the day and sun may come at the night,
ਕਾਮਕੰਦਲਾ ਕੋ ਦਿਯਬ ਤਊ ਨ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਹੋਤ ॥੪੩॥
kaamakandalaa ko diyab taoo na ham te hot |43|
‘But I will not be able to give Kamkandla away.’(43)

ਸੁਨੋ ਰਾਜ ਕਹਾ ਨਾਰਿ ਕਾਮਾ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
suno raaj kahaa naar kaamaa bichaaree |
(The emissary,) ‘Listen Raja, what magnificence is there in Kaamkandla,
ਕਹਾ ਗਾਠਿ ਬਾਧੀ ਤੁਮੈ ਜਾਨਿ ਪ︀ਯਾਰੀ ॥
kahaa gaatth baadhee tumai jaan payaaree |
‘That you are protecting her tied to your own self,
ਕਹੀ ਮਾਨਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਹਾ ਨਾਹਿ ਭਾਖੋ ॥
kahee maan meree kahaa naeh bhaakho |
‘Beeding to my advice, don’t keep her with you,
ਇਨੈ ਦੈ ਮਿਲੌ ਤਾਹਿ ਕੌ ਗਰਬ ਰਾਖੋ ॥੪੪॥
einai dai milau taeh kau garab raakho |44|
‘And by sending her away, protect your honour.(44)
ਹਠੀ ਹੈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸੁ ਤੁਮਹੂੰ ਪਛਾਨੋ ॥
hatthee hai hamaaree su tumahoon pachhaano |
ਦਿਸਾ ਚਾਰਿ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਦਾ ਲੋਹ ਮਾਨੋ ॥
disaa chaar jaa kee sadaa loh maano |
‘We persist and you must recognise, as our potency is known in all the four directions (of the world).’
ਬਲੀ ਦੇਵ ਆਦੇਵ ਜਾ ਕੌ ਬਖਾਨੈ ॥
balee dev aadev jaa kau bakhaanai |
ਕਹਾ ਰੋਕ ਤੂ ਤੌਨ ਸੋ ਜੁਧੁ ਠਾਨੈ ॥੪੫॥
kahaa rok too tauan so judh tthaanai |45|
ਬਜੀ ਦੁੰਦਭੀ ਦੀਹ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
bajee dundabhee deeh darabaar bhaare |
ਜਬੈ ਦੂਤ ਕਟੁ ਬੈਨ ਐਸੇ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥
jabai doot katt bain aise uchaare |
The drums started to beat war cries when the emissary spoke harshly.
ਹਠਿਯੋ ਬੀਰ ਹਾਠੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜੁਧ ਮੰਡੋ ॥
hatthiyo beer haatthau kahiyo judh manddo |
The obstinate Raja pronounced the declaration of war and
ਕਹਾ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਾ ਕਾਲ ਕੋ ਖੰਡ ਖੰਡੋ ॥੪੬॥
kahaa bikramaa kaal ko khandd khanddo |46|
Determined to cut Bikrim into pieces.(46)
ਚੜਿਯੋ ਲੈ ਅਨੀ ਕੋ ਬਲੀ ਬੀਰ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
charriyo lai anee ko balee beer bhaare |
ਖੰਡੇਲੇ ਬਘੇਲੇ ਪੰਧੇਰੇ ਪਵਾਰੇ ॥
khanddele baghele pandhere pavaare |
Taking with him the brave Khandelas, Baghelas and Pandheras, he raided,
ਗਹਰਵਾਰ ਚੌਹਾਨ ਗਹਲੌਤ ਦੌਰੈ ॥
gaharavaar chauahaan gahalauat dauarai |
ਮਹਾ ਜੰਗ ਜੋਧਾ ਜਿਤੇ ਨਾਹਿ ਔਰੈ ॥੪੭॥
mahaa jang jodhaa jite naeh aauarai |47|
And he had in his army Raharwars, Chohans and Ghalauts, who had taken part in great fighting.(47)
ਸੁਨ︀ਯੋ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਾ ਬੀਰ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਬੁਲਾਏ ॥
sunayo bikramaa beer sabh hee bulaae |
ਠਟੇ ਠਾਟ ਗਾੜੇ ਚਲੇ ਖੇਤ ਆਏ ॥
tthatte tthaatt gaarre chale khet aae |
When jikrim heard the news, he collected all the intrepid ones.
ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਸੂਰ ਸੈਨਾ ਉਮੰਗੈ ॥
duhoon or te soor sainaa umangai |
They both fought valiantly,
ਮਿਲੇ ਜਾਇ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਮਨੌ ਧਾਇ ਗੰਗੈ ॥੪੮॥
mile jaae jamunaa manau dhaae gangai |48|
And amalgamated like river Jamuna and Gang.(48)
ਕਿਤੇ ਬੀਰ ਕਰਵਾਰਿ ਕਾਢੈ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥
kite beer karavaar kaadtai chalaavai |
ਕਿਤੇ ਚਰਮ ਪੈ ਘਾਇ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਬਚਾਵੈ ॥
kite charam pai ghaae taa ko bachaavai |
ਕਿਤੋ ਬਰਮ ਪੈ ਚਰਮ ਰੁਪਿ ਗਰਮ ਝਾਰੈ ॥
kito baram pai charam rup garam jhaarai |
ਉਠੈ ਨਾਦ ਭਾਰੇ ਛੁਟੈ ਚਿੰਨਗਾਰੈ ॥੪੯॥
autthai naad bhaare chhuttai chinagaarai |49|
ਕਿਤੇ ਗੋਫਨੈ ਗੁਰਜ ਗੋਲਾ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥
kite gofanai guraj golaa chalaavai |
ਕਿਤੇ ਅਰਧ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਾਦਿ ਬਾਨਾ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥
kite aradh chandraad baanaa bajaavai |
ਕਿਤੇ ਸੂਲ ਸੈਥੀ ਸੂਆ ਹਾਥ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥
kite sool saithee sooaa haath lai kai |
ਮੰਡੇ ਆਨਿ ਜੋਧਾ ਮਹਾ ਕੋਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ॥੫੦॥
mandde aan jodhaa mahaa kop hvai kai |50|
ਫਰੀ ਧੋਪ ਖਾਡੇ ਲਏ ਫਾਸ ਐਸੀ ॥
faree dhop khaadde le faas aisee |
ਮਨੌ ਨਾਰਿ ਕੇ ਸਾਹੁ ਕੀ ਜੁਲਫ ਜੈਸੀ ॥
manau naar ke saahu kee julaf jaisee |
ਕਰੀ ਮਤ ਕੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਮਾਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
karee mat kee bhaat maarat bihaarai |
ਜਿਸੇ ਕੰਠਿ ਡਾਰੈ ਤਿਸੈ ਐਚ ਮਾਰੈ ॥੫੧॥
