ਪੜਿ ਪਤਿਯਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਤੁਰਤੁ ਰੀਝਿ ਗਏ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ॥

Reading her letter, Sri Krishna was appeased and arranged his own
ਸਖੀ ਏਕ ਪਠਾਵਤ ਭਏ ਮੈਨਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ॥੧੮॥
sakhee ek patthaavat bhe mainaprabhaa ke saath |18|
Maid to accompany Radha’s friend.(18)
ਰਾਧਾ ਸੌ ਮਿਲਨੋ ਬਦ︀ਯੋ ਜਲ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਮੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
raadhaa sau milano badayo jal jamunaa mai jaae |
To see Radha, a meeting at the river Jamuna was planned,
ਸਖੀ ਪਠੀ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਹ ਮੁਹਿ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੧੯॥
sakhee patthee taa ko tabai tih muhi aan milaae |19|
And a maid was at once assigned to go and make the arrangements.(19)
ਸਖੀ ਤੁਰਤ ਤਹ ਕੌ ਚਲੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਹੇਤ ॥
sakhee turat teh kau chalee sree jadupat ke het |
Hearing the order of Sri Krishna,
ਜੈਸੇ ਪਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਕੌ ਤਨ ਨ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਤ ॥੨੦॥
jaise pavan prachandd kau tan na dikhaaee det |20|
The maid flew like a flying horse to that direction.(20)
ਤੜਿਤਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਾ ਕੌ ਸਖੀ ਚਤੁਰਿ ਕਹਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਆਇ ॥
tarritaa krit jaa kau sakhee chatur kehat triy aae |
The maid, which was thought to be as fast as lightening in the sky,
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਧਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਪਠੀ ਭੇਦ ਸਕਲ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥੨੧॥
so har raadhaa prat patthee bhed sakal samajhaae |21|
Had been assigned by Sri Krishna to go and see Radha.(21)

ਫੂਲ ਫੁਲੇਲ ਲਗਾਇ ਕੈ ਚੰਦਨ ਬੈਠਿ ਰਹੀ ਕਰਿ ਭੋਜਨ ਭਾਮਨਿ ॥
fool fulel lagaae kai chandan baitth rahee kar bhojan bhaaman |
Having had her meals, suffusing herself with the perfumes of flowers, she was sitting there casually.
ਬੇਗ ਬੁਲਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਬਡ ਡ੍ਰਯਾਛ ਕਰੋ ਨ ਬਿਲੰਬ ਚਲੋ ਗਜ ਗਾਮਿਨਿ ॥
beg bulaavat hai badd ddrayaachh karo na bilanb chalo gaj gaamin |
The maid came in and told her, ‘You the one cherished by (Sri Krishna) with broad vision, come quick he is aspiring for you.
ਆਜ ਮਿਲੋ ਘਨ ਸੇ ਤਨ ਕੋ ਘਹਰੈ ਘਨ ਮੈ ਜੈਸੇ ਕੌਧਤ ਦਾਮਿਨਿ ॥
aaj milo ghan se tan ko ghaharai ghan mai jaise kauadhat daamin |
‘Go and meet him as the lightening immerses in the clouds.
ਮਾਨਤ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ਤੈ ਸਖੀ ਜਾਤ ਬਿਹਾਤ ਇਤੈ ਬਹੁ ਜਾਮਿਨਿ ॥੨੨॥
maanat baat na jaanat tai sakhee jaat bihaat itai bahu jaamin |22|
‘The night is passing away and you are not listening to me.(22)
ਗੋਪ ਕੋ ਭੇਖ ਕਬੈ ਧਰਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੁੰਜ ਗਰੀ ਕਬ ਆਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਹੈ ॥
gop ko bhekh kabai dhar hai har kunj garee kab aan basai hai |
‘You had told me that he often passed through the streets in the guise of a cowherd.
ਮੋਰ ਪਖਊਅਨ ਕੌ ਧਰਿ ਹੈ ਕਬ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਗੋਰਸ ਖੈ ਹੈ ॥
mor pkhaooan kau dhar hai kab gvaaran kai grih goras khai hai |
‘Sometime he visited the houses of the milkmaids, to enjoy the milk, wearing the feathers of a peacock.
ਬੰਸੀ ਬਜੈ ਹੈ ਕਬੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟ ਤੋਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਵਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਠੈ ਹੈ ॥
bansee bajai hai kabai jamunaa tatt tohi bulaavan mohi patthai hai |
‘Now, my friend! He is playing the flute on the banks of Jamuna and has sent me for you.
ਮਾਨ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਹਰਿ ਪੈ ਚਲੁ ਰੀ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਹਰਿਹੂੰ ਨ ਬੁਲੈ ਹੈ ॥੨੩॥
maan kahiyo hamaro har pai chal ree bahuro harihoon na bulai hai |23|
‘Come, listen to me and come, Sri Krishna is calling you.(23)
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਾਹ ਸਦੈਵ ਕਰੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਥਾ ਪਿਯ ਗਾਵਤ ਹੈ ॥
teree saraah sadaiv karai triy teree kathaa piy gaavat hai |
‘He always praises you, and to get your attention he plays the flute,
ਹਿਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਸਜੈ ਸਜਨੀ ਹਿਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਬੈਨ ਸਜਾਵਤ ਹੈ ॥
hit tere singaar sajai sajanee hit tere hee bain sajaavat hai |
And, for your sake, he is embellishing himself and blending his body with the sandalwood cream.’
ਹਿਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਚੰਦਨ ਗੌ ਘਨਸਾਰ ਦੋਊ ਘਸਿ ਅੰਗ ਲਗਾਵਤ ਹੈ ॥
hit tere hee chandan gau ghanasaar doaoo ghas ang lagaavat hai |
Sri Krishna’s soul was filched by Radha, the daughter of Brikhbhan,
ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਮਨੁ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਕੁਮਾਰਿ ਹਰਿਯੋ ਕਹੂੰ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਪਾਵਤ ਹੈ ॥੨੪॥
har ko man sree brikhabhaan kumaar hariyo kahoon jaan na paavat hai |24|
But nobody else could experience the perception.(24)
ਮੋਰ ਪਖਾ ਕੀ ਛਟਾ ਮਧੁ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸੋਭਿਤ ਹੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੈ ॥
mor pakhaa kee chhattaa madh moorat sobhit hai jamunaa ke kinaarai |
Sri Krishna, the one emanating the sublime rays like the feathers of the peacock, was ensconced at the banks of Jamuna.
ਬੂਝਤ ਬਾਤ ਬਿਹਾਲ ਭੇ ਬਲਭ ਬਾਲ ਚਲੋ ਜਹਾ ਲਾਲ ਬਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
boojhat baat bihaal bhe balabh baal chalo jahaa laal bihaarai |
Hearing about Sri Krishna the cowherd-boys became impatient and proceeded to the place.
ਰਾਧਿਕਾ ਮਾਧਵ ਕੀ ਬਤਿਯਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਅਕੁਲਾਇ ਉਠੀ ਡਰ ਡਾਰੈ ॥
raadhikaa maadhav kee batiyaa sun kai akulaae utthee ddar ddaarai |
And, learning all about Sri Krishna, Radha primed herself, and, getting rid of all the fears, she, as well, quickly walked along.
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਬੈਨ ਚਲੀ ਤਜਿ ਐਨ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਮਾਨ ਮਨੋਜ ਕੇ ਮਾਰੈ ॥੨੫॥
yau sun bain chalee taj ain rahiyo neh maan manoj ke maarai |25|
Discerning Sri Krishna, she had abandoned her home, and, in the wake of passion, forgotten her pride.(25)
ਮੋਤੀ ਕੇ ਅੰਗ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਭੂਖਨ ਮੋਤੀ ਕੇ ਬੇਸਰ ਕੀ ਛਬ ਬਾਢੀ ॥
motee ke ang biraajat bhookhan motee ke besar kee chhab baadtee |
The pearly ornaments and the nose-stud enhanced her bodily grace.
ਮੋਤੀ ਕੇ ਚੌਸਰ ਹਾਰ ਫਬੈ ਦੁਤਿ ਮੋਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਗਜਰਾਨ ਕੀ ਗਾਢੀ ॥
motee ke chauasar haar fabai dut motin ke gajaraan kee gaadtee |
The pearly necklaces and bracelets were adding charm, and, holding the lotus flowers, she waited for Sri Krishna.
ਰਾਧਿਕਾ ਮਾਧਵ ਕੌ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟ ਕੰਜ ਗਹੇ ਕਰਿ ਜੋਵਤਿ ਠਾਢੀ ॥
raadhikaa maadhav kau jamunaa tatt kanj gahe kar jovat tthaadtee |
She looked like the rice-pudding emanating from the body of the
ਛੀਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਕੋ ਮਥਿ ਕੈ ਮਨੌ ਚੰਦ ਕੋ ਚੀਰ ਸਭੈ ਤਨ ਕਾਢੀ ॥੨੬॥
chheer ke saagar ko math kai manau chand ko cheer sabhai tan kaadtee |26|
Moon which (the Moon) had been churned out of the sea.(26)

ਨ੍ਰਹਾਵਤ ਜਹਾ ਆਪੁ ਹਰਿ ਠਾਢੇ ॥

The bliss was radiating every heart around the place over where Sri Krishna was bathing.
ਅਧਿਕ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਮੈ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਾਢੇ ॥
adhik hridai mai aanand baadte |
ਵਾਰ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਪਾਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
vaar gupaal paar brij naaree |
On one side was Gopal, Sri Krishna, and on the other side there were
ਗਾਵਤ ਗੀਤ ਬਜਾਵਤ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੨੭॥
gaavat geet bajaavat taaree |27|
The dames who were singing, giggling and clapping their hands.(27)

Savaiyya
ਕ੍ਰੀੜਤ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਬਡੇ ਰਸ ਸਾਥ ਬਡੇ ਜਲ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
kreerrat hai jahaa kaanrah kumaar badde ras saath badde jal maahee |
In exhilaration Sri Krishna was bathing in the deep waters.
ਵਾਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਉਹਿ ਪਾਰ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੇ ਦਲ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
vaar triyaa uhi paar gupaal biraajat gvaaran ke dal maahee |
On one side were the ladies and Sri Krishna was seated on the other.
ਲੈ ਡੁਬਕੀ ਦੋਊ ਆਪਸ ਮੈ ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਉਠੈ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਜਾਇ ਤਹਾ ਹੀ ॥
lai ddubakee doaoo aapas mai rat maan utthai drirr jaae tahaa hee |
(Soon) both (Sri Krishna and Radha) were together. They dived and loved each other,
ਯੌ ਰੁਚਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਰਮੈ ਰਸ ਸੋਂ ਮਨੋ ਦੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਕੋਊ ਜਾਨਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨੮॥
yau ruch maan ramai ras son mano door rahe koaoo jaanat naahee |28|
Thinking that all the rest were away and none cared to look at them.(28)
ਖੇਲਤੀ ਲਾਲ ਸੋ ਬਾਲ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਸੋ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਭਾਖਤ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥
khelatee laal so baal bhalee bidh kaahoon so baat na bhaakhat jee kee |
In deep love with Sri Krishna, Radha did not care to realise others reflections.
ਨੇਹ ਜਗਿਯੋ ਨਵ ਜੋਬਨ ਕੋ ਉਰ ਬੀਚ ਰਹੀ ਗਡਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪੀ ਕੀ ॥
neh jagiyo nav joban ko ur beech rahee gadd moorat pee kee |
In the wake of youth, she was brimming with passion, and her lover’s image was getting carved in her heart.
ਬਾਰਿ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਮੈ ਨੰਦ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸੋ ਕ੍ਰੀੜਤ ਹੈ ਕਰਿ ਲਾਜ ਸਖੀ ਕੀ ॥
baar bihaar mai nand kumaar so kreerrat hai kar laaj sakhee kee |
Not to feel ashamed, in the presence of her friends, she kept loving Sri Krishna while remaining inside water.
ਜਾਇ ਉਠੈ ਬਲ ਤੌਨਹਿ ਤੇ ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨ ਦੋਊ ਮਨ ਮਾਨਤ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥੨੯॥
jaae utthai bal tauaneh te rat maan doaoo man maanat jee kee |29|
And in the intensity of love she persisted there fully absorbed.(29)

ਜੋ ਨਿਜੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਦੇਤ ਪੁਰਖ ਭੇਦ ਕਛੁ ਆਪਨੋ ॥
jo nij triy ko det purakh bhed kachh aapano |
The human being who divulges even a bit of his secret to his spouse,
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਬਿਧਨਾ ਲੇਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹਰਨ ਕਰਿ ਪਲਕ ਮੈ ॥੩੦॥
taa ke bidhanaa let praan haran kar palak mai |30|
The contriver annihilates him in an iota of the time period.(30)(I)

ਮਨ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਤਾ ਹਉ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਤਾ ॥
man kiaa kahataa hau kiaa kahataa |
What does the mind say? What can I say?
ਜਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaan prabeen tthaakur prabh mere tis aagai kiaa kahataa |1| rahaau |
You are wise and all-knowing, O God, my Lord and Master; what can I say to You? ||1||Pause||
ਅਨਬੋਲੇ ਕਉ ਤੁਹੀ ਪਛਾਨਹਿ ਜੋ ਜੀਅਨ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਤਾ ॥
anabole kau tuhee pachhaaneh jo jeean meh hotaa |
You know even what is not said, whatever is in the soul.
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਾਇ ਕਹਾ ਲਉ ਡਹਕਹਿ ਜਉ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਨਤਾ ॥੧॥
re man kaae kahaa lau ddahakeh jau pekhat hee sang sunataa |1|
O mind, why do you deceive others? How long will you do this? The Lord is with you; He hears and sees everything. ||1||
ਐਸੋ ਜਾਨਿ ਭਏ ਮਨਿ ਆਨਦ ਆਨ ਨ ਬੀਓ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
aiso jaan bhe man aanad aan na beeo karataa |
Knowing this, my mind has become blissful; there is no other Creator.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਲਹਤਾ ॥੨॥੮॥੯੪॥
kahu naanak gur bhe deaaraa har rang na kabahoo lahataa |2|8|94|
Says Nanak, the Guru has become kind to me; my love for the Lord shall never wear off. ||2||8||94||

ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਐਸੇ ਹੀ ਝਰਿ ਪਰੀਐ ॥
nindak aise hee jhar pareeai |
Thus, the slanderer crumbles away.
ਇਹ ਨੀਸਾਨੀ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਉ ਕਾਲਰ ਭੀਤਿ ਗਿਰੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
eih neesaanee sunahu tum bhaaee jiau kaalar bheet gireeai |1| rahaau |
This is the distinctive sign - listen, O Siblings of Destiny: he collapses like a wall of sand. ||1||Pause||
ਜਉ ਦੇਖੈ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਤਉ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਉਮਾਹੈ ਭਲੋ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੁਖ ਭਰੀਐ ॥
jau dekhai chhidru tau nindak umaahai bhalo dekh dukh bhareeai |
When the slanderer sees a fault in someone else, he is pleased. Seeing goodness, he is depressed.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਨਹੀ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਬੁਰਾ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਮਰੀਐ ॥੧॥
aatth pehar chitavai nahee pahuchai buraa chitavat chitavat mareeai |1|
Twenty-four hours a day, he plots, but nothing works. The evil man dies, constantly thinking up evil plans. ||1||
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਕਾਲੁ ਨੇਰੈ ਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਬਾਦੁ ਉਠਰੀਐ ॥
nindak prabhoo bhulaaeaa kaal nerai aaeaa har jan siau baad utthareeai |
The slanderer forgets God, death approaches him, and he starts to argue with the humble servant of the Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਨਸ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਕਰੀਐ ॥੨॥੯॥੯੫॥
naanak kaa raakhaa aap prabh suaamee kiaa maanas bapure kareeai |2|9|95|
God Himself, the Lord and Master, is Nanak's protector. What can any wretched person do to him? ||2||9||95||

ਐਸੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ॥

Why do you wander in delusion like this?
ਕਰਹਿ ਕਰਾਵਹਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kareh karaaveh mookar paaveh pekhat sunat sadaa sang hare |1| rahaau |
You act, and incite others to act, and then deny it. The Lord is always with you; He sees and hears everything. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਚ ਬਿਹਾਝਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਛਾਡਨ ਬੈਰੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੇਤੁ ਸਾਜਨ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਖਰੇ ॥
kaach bihaajhan kanchan chhaaddan bairee sang het saajan tiaag khare |
You purchase glass, and discard gold; you are in love with your enemy, while you renounce your true friend.
ਹੋਵਨੁ ਕਉਰਾ ਅਨਹੋਵਨੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਇ ਜਰੇ ॥੧॥
hovan kauraa anahovan meetthaa bikhiaa meh lapattaae jare |1|
That which exists, seems bitter; that which does not exist, seems sweet to you. Engrossed in corruption, you are burning away. ||1||
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਪਰਾਨੀ ਭਰਮ ਗੁਬਾਰ ਮੋਹ ਬੰਧਿ ਪਰੇ ॥
andh koop meh pario paraanee bharam gubaar moh bandh pare |
The mortal has fallen into the deep, dark pit, and is entangled in the darkness of doubt, and the bondage of emotional attachment.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਤ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਕਾਢੈ ਬਾਹ ਫਰੇ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੯੬॥
kahu naanak prabh hot deaaraa gur bhettai kaadtai baah fare |2|10|96|
Says Nanak, when God becomes merciful, one meets with the Guru, who takes him by the arm, and lifts him out. ||2||10||96||

ਮਨ ਤਨ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਚੀਨੑਾ ॥
man tan rasanaa har cheenaa |
With my mind, body and tongue, I remember the Lord.
ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਮਿਟੇ ਅੰਦੇਸੇ ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੑਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhe anandaa mitte andese sarab sookh mo kau gur deenaa |1| rahaau |
I am in ecstasy, and my anxieties are dispelled; the Guru has blessed me with total peace. ||1||Pause||
ਇਆਨਪ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਭਈ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਨਾ ਬੀਨਾ ॥
eaanap te sabh bhee siaanap prabh meraa daanaa beenaa |
My ignorance has been totally transformed into wisdom. My God is wise and all-knowing.
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਕਾਹੂ ਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਛੁ ਖੀਨਾ ॥੧॥
haath dee raakhai apane kau kaahoo na karate kachh kheenaa |1|
Giving me His Hand, He saved me, and now no one can harm me at all. ||1||
ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵਉ ਦਰਸਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
bal jaavau darasan saadhoo kai jih prasaad har naam leenaa |
I am a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of the Holy; by their Grace, I contemplate the Lord's Name.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭਾਰੋਸੈ ਕਹੂ ਨ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਛੀਨਾ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੯੭॥
kahu naanak tthaakur bhaarosai kahoo na maanio man chheenaa |2|11|97|
Says Nanak, I place my faith in my Lord and Master; within my mind, I do not believe in any other, even for an instant. ||2||11||97||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
amrit naam ride meh deeno janam janam kee mail gee |1| rahaau |
He has enshrined the Ambrosial Name of the Lord within my heart, and the filth of countless incarnations has been washed away. ||1||Pause||
ਨਿਵਰੇ ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਟ ਬੈਰਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
nivare doot dusatt bairaaee gur poore kaa japiaa jaap |
The demons and wicked enemies are driven out, by meditating, and chanting the Chant of the Perfect Guru.
ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਕੋਈ ਬੇਚਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾ ਬਡ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੧॥
kahaa karai koee bechaaraa prabh mere kaa badd parataap |1|
What can any wretched creature do to me? The radiance of my God is gloriously great. ||1||
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਰਖੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
simar simar simar sukh paaeaa charan kamal rakh man maahee |
Meditating, meditating, meditating in remembrance, I have found peace; I have enshrined His Lotus Feet within my mind.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੯੮॥
taa kee saran pario naanak daas jaa te aoopar ko naahee |2|12|98|
Slave Nanak has entered His Sanctuary; there is none above Him. ||2||12||98||
