ਅਨੂਪ ਗਾਤ ਅਤਿਭੁਤੰ ਬਿਭੂਤ ਸੋਭਤੰ ਤਨੰ ॥
anoop gaat atibhutan bibhoot sobhatan tanan |
The bodies of the sages were marvelous and their magnificence were unique
ਅਛਿਜ ਤੇਜ ਜਾਜੁਲੰ ਅਨੰਤ ਮੋਹਤੰ ਮਨੰ ॥
achhij tej jaajulan anant mohatan manan |
Their luster was indestructible and they allured the innumerable minds
ਸਸੋਭ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਰੰਗਤੰ ਸੁਰੰਗ ਗੇਰੂ ਅੰਬਰੰ ॥
sasobh basatr rangatan surang geroo anbaran |
Their clothes were beautifully dyed in ochre colour
ਬਿਲੋਕ ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨਵੰ ਮਮੋਹ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬੰ ਨਰੰ ॥੪੫੪॥

, Seeing which the gods and demons, men and Gnadharvas were all fascinated.454.
ਜਟਾ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਜਾਨਵੀ ਜਟੀ ਸਮਾਨ ਜਾਨਈ ॥
jattaa bilok jaanavee jattee samaan jaanee |
Seeing the matted locks of the sage, the Ganges was considering him as Shiva and
ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਲੋਕਿਣੰ ਅਲੋਕਿ ਰੂਪ ਮਾਨਈ ॥
bilok lok lokinan alok roop maanee |
The beings of all the worlds accepted him as one containing supernatural elegance
ਬਜੰਤ ਚਾਰ ਕਿੰਕੁਰੀ ਭਜੰਤ ਭੂਤ ਭੈਧਰੀ ॥
bajant chaar kinkuree bhajant bhoot bhaidharee |
All the beings, in His fear, playing on the fiddle, were repeating His Name
ਪਪਾਤ ਜਛ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਰਨੀ ਮਮੋਹ ਮਾਨਨੀ ਮਨੰ ॥੪੫੫॥
papaat jachh kinranee mamoh maananee manan |455|
The Yaksha and Kinnar women were all getting allured.455.
ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਚਿਤ੍ਰਣੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਚਿਤ੍ਰਣੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੰ ॥

The beautiful Chitarni (a kind of women) women, getting pleased on that poure Lord,
ਰ ਰੀਝ ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬੰ ਸੁਰਾਰਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੰ ॥

The women of Yakshas, Gandharvas and gods, were remembering Him
ਕੜੰਤ ਕ੍ਰੂ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਰਣੀ ਹਸੰਤ ਹਾਸ ਕਾਮਿਣੀ ॥
karrant kraoo kinranee hasant haas kaaminee |
ਲਸੰਤ ਦੰਤਣੰ ਦੁਤੰ ਖਿਮੰਤ ਜਾਣੁ ਦਾਮਿਣੀ ॥੪੫੬॥
lasant dantanan dutan khimant jaan daaminee |456|
The evil Kinnar women were getting angry and other pretty ladies laughingly exhibited their teeth making the lightning shyful.456.
ਦਲੰਤ ਪਾਪ ਦੁਭਰੰ ਚਲੰਤ ਮੋਨਿ ਸਿੰਮਰੰ ॥
dalant paap dubharan chalant mon sinmaran |
Seeing him, the formidable sins were destroyed and the silent remembrance of the Lord was the natural outcome
ਸੁਭੰਤ ਭਾਰਗਵੰ ਪਟੰ ਬਿਅੰਤ ਤੇਜ ਉਫਣੰ ॥
subhant bhaaragavan pattan biant tej ufanan |
On their bodies, their garments were keeping under control the rising radiance
ਪਰੰਤ ਪਾਨਿ ਭੂਚਰੰ ਭ੍ਰਮੰਤ ਸਰਬਤੋ ਦਿਸੰ ॥
parant paan bhoocharan bhramant sarabato disan |
The beings of all the directions, wandering and coming there, were falling at his feet
ਤਜੰਤ ਪਾਪ ਨਰ ਬਰੰ ਚਲੰਤ ਧਰਮਣੋ ਮਗੰ ॥੪੫੭॥

All the beings forsaking their sins were following the path of Dharma on reaching there.457.
ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਬੀਰਣੋ ਦਯੰ ਅਰੁਝ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਮਣੰ ॥
bilok beerano dayan arujh chhatr karamanan |
There he saw two kshatriya fighters absorbed in their actions of war
ਤਜੰਤਿ ਸਾਇਕੰ ਸਿਤੰ ਕਟੰਤ ਟੂਕ ਬਰਮਣੰ ॥
tajant saaeikan sitan kattant ttook baramanan |
The warriors were abandoning their bows and cutting the armours seeing that fighting
ਥਥੰਭ ਭਾਨਣੋ ਰਥੰ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਕਉਤਕੰ ਰਣੰ ॥
thathanbh bhaanano rathan bilok kautakan ranan |
ਗਿਰੰਤ ਜੁਧਣੋ ਛਿਤੰ ਬਮੰਤ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤੰ ਮੁਖੰ ॥੪੫੮॥
girant judhano chhitan bamant sronatan mukhan |458|
The chariot of the sun stopped there and there the fighters falling on the earth, were throwing out blood from their mouths.458.
ਫਿਰੰਤ ਚਕ੍ਰਣੋ ਚਕੰ ਗਿਰੰਤ ਜੋਧਣੋ ਰਣੰ ॥

The discs were being discharged and the fighters were falling
ਉਠੰਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਹਠੀ ਠਠੁਕਿ ਕ੍ਰੁਧਿਤੰ ਭੁਜੰ ॥
autthant krodh kai hatthee tthatthuk krudhitan bhujan |
The persistent warriors were again rising in anger
ਭ੍ਰਮੰਤ ਅਧ ਬਧਤੰ ਕਮਧ ਬਧਤੰ ਕਟੰ ॥
bhramant adh badhatan kamadh badhatan kattan |
ਪਰੰਤ ਭੂਤਲੰ ਭਟੰ ਬਕੰਤ ਮਾਰੂੜੈ ਰਟੰ ॥੪੫੯॥
parant bhootalan bhattan bakant maaroorrai rattan |459|
Having been cut into half in the form of headless trunks were wandering and those falling on the earth were shouting “kill, kill”.459.
ਪਿਪੰਤ ਅਸਵ ਭਟੰਤ ਭਿਰੰਤ ਦਾਰੁਣੋ ਰਣੰ ॥
pipant asav bhattant bhirant daaruno ranan |
The horses of the warriors were fighting in that dreadful war
ਬਹੰਤ ਤੀਛਣੋ ਸਰੰ ਝਲੰਤ ਝਾਲ ਖੜਿਗਿਣੰ ॥
bahant teechhano saran jhalant jhaal kharriginan |
The sharp arrows were being seen
ਉਠੰਤ ਮਾਰੂੜੋ ਰਣੰ ਬਕੰਤ ਮਾਰਣੋ ਮੁਖੰ ॥
autthant maaroorro ranan bakant maarano mukhan |
The fighters were rising with the shouts of “kill, kill”
ਚਲੰਤ ਭਾਜਿ ਨ ਹਠੀ ਜੁਝੰਤ ਦੁਧਰੰ ਰਣੰ ॥੪੬੦॥
chalant bhaaj na hatthee jujhant dudharan ranan |460|
And they were not running away from that battlefield with persistence.460.
ਕਟੰਤ ਕਾਰਮੰ ਸੁਭੰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਚਿਤ੍ਰਤੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੰ ॥
kattant kaaraman subhan bachitr chitratan kritan |
ਸਿਲੇਣਿ ਉਜਲੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੰ ਬਹੰਤ ਸਾਇਕੰ ਸੁਭੰ ॥
silen ujalee kritan bahant saaeikan subhan |
All were cutting one another in a strange way and the white arrows like the slab were flowing (like a stream)
ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਮੋਨਿਸੰ ਜੁਧੰ ਚਚਉਧ ਚਕ੍ਰਤੰ ਭਵੰ ॥
bilok monisan judhan chchaudh chakratan bhavan |
ਮਮੋਹ ਆਸ੍ਰਮੰ ਗਤੰ ਪਪਾਤ ਭੂਤਲੀ ਸਿਰੰ ॥੪੬੧॥
mamoh aasraman gatan papaat bhootalee siran |461|
Seeing that war the whole world was dazzled and wonder-struck and moving towards that hermitage, it was falling down upon the earth under the impact of attachment.461.
ਸਭਾਰ ਭਾਰਗ ਬਸਨਿਨੰ ਜਜਪਿ ਜਾਪਣੋ ਰਿਖੰ ॥
sabhaar bhaarag basaninan jajap jaapano rikhan |
ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਪਾਨ ਪੈ ਪਰਾ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਬਾਇਸਵੋ ਗੁਰੰ ॥
nihaar paan pai paraa bichaar baaeisavo guran |
That woman, carrying her utensils on her head, was moving remembering her husband like a sage and the sag seeing her and falling at her feet adopted her as the twenty-second Guru
ਬਿਅੰਤ ਜੋਗਣੋ ਸਧੰ ਅਸੰਖ ਪਾਪਣੋ ਦਲੰ ॥
biant jogano sadhan asankh paapano dalan |
ਅਨੇਕ ਚੇਲਕਾ ਲਏ ਰਿਖੇਸ ਆਸਨੰ ਚਲੰ ॥੪੬੨॥

That great sage, who had performed innumerable Yogic practices and destroying many sins, moved towards his abode.462.
ਇਤਿ ਹਰ ਬਾਹਤਾ ਬਾਈਸਵੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਭਾਤ ਲੈ ਆਈ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥੨੨॥

ਭਜੰਤ ਅਰਿ ਦਿਤੰ ਅਘੰ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਭਾਰਗਵੰ ਭਿਸੰ ॥
bhajant ar ditan aghan bilok bhaaragavan bhisan |
The trumpets sounded and there was thundering voice seeing the ochre-coloured garb the sins were destroyed
ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਕੰਚਨੰ ਗਿਰੰਤ ਤਜ ਮਾਨੁਖੀ ਭੁਅੰ ॥
bilok kanchanan girant taj maanukhee bhuan |
ਸ ਸੁਹਕ ਤਾਪਸੀ ਤਨੰ ਅਲੋਕ ਲੋਕਣੋ ਬਪੰ ॥੪੬੩॥
s suhak taapasee tanan alok lokano bapan |463|
The gold was seen being showered on the earth inhabitated by human beings and the bodies of the ascetic were supernatural glory.463.
ਅਨੇਕ ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬੰ ਬਸੇਖ ਬਿਧਿਕਾ ਧਰੀ ॥

ਨਿਰਕਤ ਨਾਗਣੀ ਮਹਾ ਬਸੇਖ ਬਾਸਵੀ ਸੁਰੀ ॥
nirakat naaganee mahaa basekh baasavee suree |
Many Yaksha, Gandharava, Naga and god’s women were dancing
ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਮ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਅਨੂਪ ਆਲਕਾਪਤੀ ॥
pavitr param paarabatee anoop aalakaapatee |
ਅਸਕਤ ਆਪਿਤੰ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਸੇਖ ਆਸੁਰੀ ਸੁਰੀ ॥੪੬੪॥
asakat aapitan mahaa bisekh aasuree suree |464|
There was Parvati and the wife of the unique Kuber there were seated the women off gods and demons.464.
ਅਨੂਪ ਏਕ ਜਛਣੀ ਮਮੋਹ ਰਾਗਣੋ ਮਨੰ ॥

ਘੁਮੰਤ ਘੂਮਣੰ ਛਿਤੰ ਲਗੰਤ ਸਾਰੰਗੋ ਸਰੰ ॥

There was there a unique Yakssha woman, who was revolving in a circle as if she was struck by an arrow
ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਨੇਹ ਗੇਹਣੰ ਸਨੇਹ ਰਾਗਣੋ ਮਨੰ ॥
bisaar neh gehanan saneh raagano manan |
ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀਸ ਜਾਣੁ ਘੁਮਤੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੇਣ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਸਰੰ ॥੪੬੫॥
mrigees jaan ghumatan kriten kris kritee saran |465|
Abandoning all kinds of desires, her mind was absorbed only in music she was moving agitated like a deer.465.
ਰਝੀਝ ਰਾਗਣੋ ਚਿਤੰ ਬਦੰਤ ਰਾਗ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਭੰ ॥
rajheejh raagano chitan badant raag suprabhan |
ਬਜੰਤ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਕਰੰ ਮਮੋਹ ਆਸ੍ਰਮੰ ਗਤੰ ॥
bajant kinguree karan mamoh aasraman gatan |
She was absorbed in singing in various male and female musical modes and playing on her fiddle, she went lovingly towards the hermitage
ਸਸਜਿ ਸਾਇਕੰ ਸਿਤੰ ਕਪੰਤ ਕਾਮਣੋ ਕਲੰ ॥
sasaj saaeikan sitan kapant kaamano kalan |
ਭ੍ਰਮੰਤ ਭੂਤਲੰ ਭਲੰ ਭੁਗੰਤ ਭਾਮਿਣੀ ਦਲੰ ॥੪੬੬॥
bhramant bhootalan bhalan bhugant bhaaminee dalan |466|
That beautiful damsel was decorated with the arrows of her art and the group of those beautiful women was enjoying the earthly existence.466.

She was virtuous very gentle and knower of eighteen sciences,

ਧਰਣੀ ਤਲਾ ਮਹਿ ਧੰਨਿ ॥੪੬੭॥

Well versed in music and full of essence, She was fortunate enough on earth.467.

A woman, gentle and virtuous, was singing a musical mode
ਸੁਖ ਧਾਮ ਲੋਚਨ ਚਾਰੁ ॥

ਸੰਗੀਤ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੪੬੮॥
sangeet karat bichaar |468|
She was the abode of happiness and her eyes were charming she was thoughtfully singing her musical modes.468.
ਦੁਤਿ ਮਾਨ ਰੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
dut maan roop apaar |
ਗੁਣਵੰਤ ਸੀਲ ਉਦਾਰ ॥
gunavant seel udaar |
She was pretty, gentle and generous
ਸੁਖ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਰਾਗ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
sukh sindh raag nidhaan |
ਹਰਿ ਲੇਤ ਹੇਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ॥੪੬੯॥
har let herat praan |469|
That lady, the treasure of music, to whichever direction she viewed, she allured everyone.469.
ਅਕਲੰਕ ਜੁਬਨ ਮਾਨ ॥
akalank juban maan |
ਸੁਖ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਥਾਨ ॥
sukh sindh sundar thaan |
That blemishless and honourable lady was an ocean of happiness
ਇਕ ਚਿਤ ਗਾਵਤ ਰਾਗ ॥
eik chit gaavat raag |
ਉਫਟੰਤ ਜਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਗ ॥੪੭੦॥
aufattant jaan suhaag |470|
She was singing with full concentration of mind and the auspicious songs seemed to be springing out from her very interior.470.
ਤਿਹ ਪੇਖ ਕੈ ਜਟਿ ਰਾਜ ॥
tih pekh kai jatt raaj |
ਸੰਗ ਲੀਨ ਜੋਗ ਸਮਾਜ ॥
sang leen jog samaaj |
Seeing her, the king of Yogis gathered all his Yogis and
ਰਹਿ ਰੀਝ ਆਪਨ ਚਿਤ ॥
reh reejh aapan chit |
ਜੁਗ ਰਾਜ ਜੋਗ ਪਵਿਤ ॥੪੭੧॥
jug raaj jog pavit |471|
All of them were pleased to see that pure Yogin.471.
ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗ ॥
eih bhaat jo har sang |
ਹਿਤ ਕੀਜੀਐ ਅਨਭੰਗ ॥
hit keejeeai anabhang |
The king of Yogis thought that if in this way, detaching oneself from all other sides,
ਤਬ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਲੋਕ ॥
tab paaeeai har lok |
ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਮੈ ਨਹੀ ਸੋਕ ॥੪੭੨॥
eih baat mai nahee sok |472|
The mind is concentrated on the Lord, then the Lord can be realized without any apprehension.472.
ਚਿਤ ਚਉਪ ਸੋ ਭਰ ਚਾਇ ॥
chit chaup so bhar chaae |
ਗੁਰ ਜਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਪਰਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
gur jaan kai par paae |
The enthusiastic sage, accepted her as his Guru, fell at her feet
ਚਿਤ ਤਊਨ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਭੀਨ ॥
chit taoon ke ras bheen |
ਗੁਰੁ ਤੇਈਸਵੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੀਨ ॥੪੭੩॥

Getting absorbed in her love, the king of the sages, adopted her as his Twenty-Third Guru.473.

ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇ ਰਾਜਨ ਅਰੁ ਭੂਮਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਨ ਬੂਝੀ ॥
vadde vadde raajan ar bhooman taa kee trisan na boojhee |
The desires of the greatest of the great kings and landlords cannot be satisfied.
ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਤੇ ਲੋਚਨ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਸੂਝੀ ॥੧॥
lapatt rahe maaeaa rang maate lochan kachhoo na soojhee |1|
They remain engrossed in Maya, intoxicated with the pleasures of their wealth; their eyes see nothing else at all. ||1||
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
bikhiaa meh kin hee tripat na paaee |
No one has ever found satisfaction in sin and corruption.
ਜਿਉ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਈਧਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਹਾ ਅਘਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jiau paavak eedhan nahee dhraapai bin har kahaa aghaaee | rahaau |
The flame is not satisfied by more fuel; how can one be satisfied without the Lord? ||Pause||
ਦਿਨੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਕਰਤ ਭੋਜਨ ਬਹੁ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਮਿਟੈ ਨ ਭੂਖਾ ॥
din din karat bhojan bahu binjan taa kee mittai na bhookhaa |
Day after day, he eats his meals with many different foods, but his hunger is not eradicated.
ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁਆਨ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਟਾ ਘੋਖਾ ॥੨॥
audam karai suaan kee niaaee chaare kunttaa ghokhaa |2|
He runs around like a dog, searching in the four directions. ||2||
ਕਾਮਵੰਤ ਕਾਮੀ ਬਹੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਪਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜੋਹ ਨ ਚੂਕੈ ॥
kaamavant kaamee bahu naaree par grih joh na chookai |
The lustful, lecherous man desires many women, and he never stops peeking into the homes of others.
ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕਰੈ ਕਰੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਪੈ ਸੋਗ ਲੋਭ ਮਹਿ ਸੂਕੈ ॥੩॥
din prat karai karai pachhutaapai sog lobh meh sookai |3|
Day after day, he commits adultery again and again, and then he regrets his actions; he wastes away in misery and greed. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਮੋਲਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
har har naam apaar amolaa amrit ek nidhaanaa |
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is incomparable and priceless; it is the treasure of Ambrosial Nectar.
ਸੂਖੁ ਸਹਜੁ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੬॥
sookh sehaj aanand santan kai naanak gur te jaanaa |4|6|
The Saints abide in peace, poise and bliss; O Nanak, through the Guru, this is known. ||4||6||

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਗਨ ਕਉ ਹੈ ਕਛੂਐ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਇਹੁ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
lavai na laagan kau hai kachhooai jaa kau fir ihu dhaavai |
Nothing which this mortal being runs after, can compare to it.
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਇਹੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਬਨਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੧॥
jaa kau gur deeno ihu amrit tis hee kau ban aavai |1|
He alone comes to have it, whom the Guru blesses with this Ambrosial Nectar. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਆਇਓ ਏਕੁ ਰਸਾ ॥
jaa kau aaeo ek rasaa |
The desire to eat, to wear new clothes, and all other desires,
ਖਾਨ ਪਾਨ ਆਨ ਨਹੀ ਖੁਧਿਆ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਬਸਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
khaan paan aan nahee khudhiaa taa kai chit na basaa | rahaau |
Do not abide in the mind of one who comes to know the subtle essence of the One Lord. ||Pause||
ਮਉਲਿਓ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇਓ ਹਰਿਆ ਏਕ ਬੂੰਦ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
maulio man tan hoeo hariaa ek boond jin paaee |
The mind and body blossom forth in abundance, when one receives even a drop of this Nectar.
ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
baran na saakau usatat taa kee keemat kehan na jaaee |2|
I cannot express His glory; I cannot describe His worth. ||2||
ਘਾਲ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਆਇ ਅਚਿੰਤਾ ॥
ghaal na milio sev na milio milio aae achintaa |
We cannot meet the Lord by our own efforts, nor can we meet Him through service; He comes and meets us spontaneously.
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਕਮਾਨੋ ਮੰਤਾ ॥੩॥
jaa kau deaa karee merai tthaakur tin gureh kamaano mantaa |3|
One who is blessed by my Lord Master's Grace, practices the Teachings of the Guru's Mantra. ||3||
ਦੀਨ ਦੈਆਲ ਸਦਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
deen daiaal sadaa kirapaalaa sarab jeea pratipaalaa |
He is merciful to the meek, always kind and compassionate; He cherishes and nurtures all beings.
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਜਿਉ ਮਾਤਾ ਬਾਲ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੪॥੭॥
ot pot naanak sang raviaa jiau maataa baal goupaalaa |4|7|
The Lord is mingled with Nanak, through and through; He cherishes him, like the mother her child. ||4||7||

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਬਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੑਾਯਾ ॥
baar jaau gur apune aoopar jin har har naam drirraayaa |
I am a sacrifice to my Guru, who has implanted the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, within me.
ਮਹਾ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਸੀਧਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਿਖਾਯਾ ॥੧॥
mahaa udiaan andhakaar meh jin seedhaa maarag dikhaayaa |1|
In the utter darkness of the wilderness, He showed me the straight path. ||1||
ਹਮਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
hamare praan gupaal gobind |
The Lord of the universe, the Cherisher of the world, He is my breath of life.
ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਕੀ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
eehaa aoohaa sarab thok kee jiseh hamaaree chind |1| rahaau |
Here and hereafter, he takes care of everything for me. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਮਾਨੁ ਮਹਤੁ ਪਤਿ ਪੂਰੀ ॥
jaa kai simaran sarab nidhaanaa maan mehat pat pooree |
Meditating on Him in remembrance, I have found all treasures, respect, greatness and perfect honor.
ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਘ ਨਾਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਬਾਛਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਧੂਰੀ ॥੨॥
naam lait kott agh naase bhagat baachheh sabh dhooree |2|
Remembering His Name, millions of sins are erased; all His devotees long for the dust of His feet. ||2||
ਸਰਬ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਚਾਹੈ ਸੇਵੈ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
sarab manorath je ko chaahai sevai ek nidhaanaa |
If someone wishes for the fulfillment of all his hopes and desires, he should serve the one supreme treasure.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
paarabraham aparanpar suaamee simarat paar paraanaa |3|
He is the Supreme Lord God, infinite Lord and Master; meditating on Him in remembrance, one is carried across. ||3||
ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਓਲੑਾ ॥
seetal saant mahaa sukh paaeaa santasang rahio olaa |
I have found total peace and tranquility in the Society of the Saints; my honor has been preserved.
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀਨੋ ਚੋਲੑਾ ॥੪॥੮॥
har dhan sanchan har naam bhojan ihu naanak keeno cholaa |4|8|
To gather in the Lord's wealth, and to taste the food of the Lord's Name - Nanak has made this his feast. ||4||8||
