Dhanaasaree, Fourth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਪੜੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਉ ਹਰਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥
har parr har likh har jap har gaau har bhaujal paar utaaree |
Read about the Lord, write about the Lord, chant the Lord's Name, and sing the Lord's Praises; the Lord will carry you across the terrifying world-ocean.
ਮਨਿ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਿਆਇ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਤੁਸਟੁ ਇਵ ਭਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
man bachan ridai dhiaae har hoe santusatt iv bhan har naam muraaree |1|
In your mind, by your words, and within your heart, meditate on the Lord, and He will be pleased. In this way, repeat the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥
man japeeai har jagadees |
O mind, meditate on the Lord, the Lord of the World.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੀਤ ॥
mil sangat saadhoo meet |
Join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O friend.
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sadaa anand hovai din raatee har keerat kar banavaaree | rahaau |
You shall be happy forever, day and night; sing the Praises of the Lord, the Lord of the world-forest. ||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤਬ ਭਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਓ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
har har karee drisatt tab bheo man udam har har naam japio gat bhee hamaaree |
When the Lord, Har, Har, casts His Glance of Grace, then I made the effort in my mind; meditating on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have been emancipated.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਇ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੩॥੯॥
jan naanak kee pat raakh mere suaamee har aae pario hai saran tumaaree |2|3|9|
Preserve the honor of servant Nanak, O my Lord and Master; I have come seeking Your Sanctuary. ||2||3||9||

Dhanaasaree, Fourth Mehl:
ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਸਿਧ ਬੁਧ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਕੋਟਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਸਭਿ ਚਾਹਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
chauraaseeh sidh budh tetees kott mun jan sabh chaaheh har jeeo tero naau |
The eighty-four Siddhas, the spiritual masters, the Buddhas, the three hundred thirty million gods and the silent sages, all long for Your Name, O Dear Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਭਾਉ ॥੧॥
gur prasaad ko viralaa paavai jin kau lilaatt likhiaa dhur bhaau |1|
By Guru's Grace, a rare few obtain it; upon their foreheads, the pre-ordained destiny of loving devotion is written. ||1||
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਮੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਊਤਮ ਕਾਮ ॥
jap man raamai naam har jas aootam kaam |
O mind, chant the Name of the Lord; singing the Lord's Praises is the most exalted activity.
ਜੋ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸੁਣਹਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo gaaveh suneh teraa jas suaamee hau tin kai sad balihaarai jaau | rahaau |
I am forever a sacrifice to those who sing, and hear Your Praises, O Lord and Master. ||Pause||
ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਹਉ ਪਾਉ ॥
saranaagat pratipaalak har suaamee jo tum dehu soee hau paau |
I seek Your Sanctuary, O Cherisher God, my Lord and Master; whatever You give me, I accept.
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਚਾਉ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੦॥
deen deaal kripaa kar deejai naanak har simaran kaa hai chaau |2|4|10|
O Lord, Merciful to the meek, give me this blessing; Nanak longs for the Lord's meditative remembrance. ||2||4||10||

ਸੇਵਕ ਸਿਖ ਪੂਜਣ ਸਭਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
sevak sikh poojan sabh aaveh sabh gaaveh har har aootam baanee |
All the Sikhs and servants come to worship and adore You; they sing the sublime Bani of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗਾਵਿਆ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
gaaviaa suniaa tin kaa har thaae paavai jin satigur kee aagiaa sat sat kar maanee |1|
Their singing and listening is approved by the Lord; they accept the Order of the True Guru as True, totally True. ||1||
ਬੋਲਹੁ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਵਜਲ ਤੀਰਥਿ ॥
bolahu bhaaee har keerat har bhavajal teerath |
Chant the Lord's Praises, O Siblings of Destiny; the Lord is the sacred shrine of pilgrimage in the terrifying world-ocean.
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਤ ਹੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਜਿਨ ਜਨਹੁ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har dar tin kee aootam baat hai santahu har kathaa jin janahu jaanee | rahaau |
They alone are praised in the Court of the Lord, O Saints, who know and understand the Lord's sermon. ||Pause||
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚੋਜ ਵਿਡਾਨੀ ॥
aape gur chelaa hai aape aape har prabh choj viddaanee |
He Himself is the Guru, and He Himself is the disciple; the Lord God Himself plays His wondrous games.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਸੀ ਅਵਰ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਓਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥
jan naanak aap milaae soee har milasee avar sabh tiaag ohaa har bhaanee |2|5|11|
O servant Nanak, he alone merges with the Lord, whom the Lord Himself merges; all the others are forsaken, but the Lord loves him. ||2||5||11||

Dhanaasaree, Fourth Mehl:
ਇਛਾ ਪੂਰਕੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਹੈ ਕਾਮਧੇਨਾ ॥
eichhaa poorak sarab sukhadaataa har jaa kai vas hai kaamadhenaa |
The Lord is the Fulfiller of desires, the Giver of total peace; the Kaamadhaynaa, the wish-fulfilling cow, is in His power.
ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਤਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥
so aisaa har dhiaaeeai mere jeearre taa sarab sukh paaveh mere manaa |1|
So meditate on such a Lord, O my soul. Then, you shall obtain total peace, O my mind. ||1||
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jap man sat naam sadaa sat naam |
Chant, O my mind, the True Name, Sat Naam, the True Name.
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਨਿਤ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
halat palat mukh aoojal hoee hai nit dhiaaeeai har purakh niranjanaa | rahaau |
In this world, and in the world beyond, your face shall be radiant, by meditating continually on the immaculate Lord God. ||Pause||
ਜਹ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਹ ਉਪਾਧਿ ਗਤੁ ਕੀਨੀ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨਾ ॥
jeh har simaran bheaa teh upaadh gat keenee vaddabhaagee har japanaa |
Wherever anyone remembers the Lord in meditation, disaster runs away from that place. By great good fortune, we meditate on the Lord.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਨਾ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੨॥
jan naanak kau gur ih mat deenee jap har bhavajal taranaa |2|6|12|
The Guru has blessed servant Nanak with this understanding, that by meditating on the Lord, we cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||6||12||
