ਧਾਯੋ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਤਹਾ ॥
dhaayo asatr lai ke tahaa |
ਮਥੁਰਾ ਮੰਡਲ ਦਾਨੋ ਥਾ ਜਹਾ ॥
mathuraa manddal daano thaa jahaa |
The king, taking up his weapons, reached there, where the demon lived in Mathura-Mandal
ਮਹਾ ਗਰਬੁ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਮਹਾ ਮੰਦ ਬੁਧੀ ॥
mahaa garab kai kai mahaa mand budhee |
ਮਹਾ ਜੋਰ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਦਲੰ ਪਰਮ ਕ੍ਰੁਧੀ ॥੧੧੩॥
mahaa jor kai kai dalan param krudhee |113|
He was a great stupid and an egoist, he was a most powerful one and dreadfully outrageous.113.
ਮਹਾ ਘੋਰ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਘਨੰ ਕੀ ਘਟਾ ਜਿਯੋ ॥
mahaa ghor kai kai ghanan kee ghattaa jiyo |
ਸੁ ਧਾਇਆ ਰਣੰ ਬਿਜੁਲੀ ਕੀ ਛਟਾ ਜਿਯੋ ॥
su dhaaeaa ranan bijulee kee chhattaa jiyo |
Thundering like the clouds Mandhata fell upon (the demon) in the battlefield like lightning
ਸੁਨੇ ਸਰਬ ਦਾਨੋ ਸੁ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਸਿਧਾਇ ॥
sune sarab daano su saamuhi sidhaae |
MEDAK STANZA
ਮਹਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਬਾਜੀ ਨਚਾਏ ॥੧੧੪॥
mahaa krodh kai kai su baajee nachaae |114|
When the demons heard this, they also confronted him and furioudly caused their horses to dance.114.

ਅਬ ਏਕ ਕੀਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਯੌ ਨ ਟਰੈ ॥
ab ek kee bin yau na ttarai |
ਦੋਊ ਦਾਤਨ ਪੀਸ ਹੰਕਾਰਿ ਪਰੈ ॥
doaoo daatan pees hankaar parai |
The king was determined to kill him and body of the enemies, grinding their teeth and challenging each other began to fight violently
ਜਬ ਲੌ ਨ ਸੁਨੋ ਲਵ ਖੇਤ ਮਰਾ ॥
jab lau na suno lav khet maraa |
ਤਬ ਲਉ ਨ ਲਖੋ ਰਨਿ ਬਾਜ ਟਰਾ ॥੧੧੫॥
tab lau na lakho ran baaj ttaraa |115|
The king did not stop the showering of arrows, as he waited to get the news of the death of Lavansaura.115.
ਅਬ ਹੀ ਰਣਿ ਏਕ ਕੀ ਏਕ ਕਰੈ ॥
ab hee ran ek kee ek karai |
ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕ ਕੀਏ ਰਣਿ ਤੇ ਨ ਟਰੈ ॥
bin ek kee ran te na ttarai |
Both of them had the same objective and did not want to leave the battle without killing the opponent
ਬਹੁ ਸਾਲ ਸਿਲਾ ਤਲ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਛੁਟੇ ॥
bahu saal silaa tal brichh chhutte |
ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰਿ ਜਬੈ ਰਣ ਬੀਰ ਜੁਟੇ ॥੧੧੬॥
duhoon or jabai ran beer jutte |116|
Both the warriors showered trees and stones etc. from both the sides.116.
ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਲਵ ਪਾਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲ ਲਯੋ ॥
kup kai lav paan trisool layo |
ਸਿਰਿ ਧਾਤਯਮਾਨ ਦੁਖੰਡ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
sir dhaatayamaan dukhandd kiyo |
Lavanasura held his trident in his hand in anger and chopped the head of Mandhata into two parts
ਬਹੁ ਜੂਥਪ ਜੂਥਨ ਸੈਨ ਭਜੀ ॥
bahu joothap joothan sain bhajee |
ਨ ਉਚਾਇ ਸਕੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਐਸ ਲਜੀ ॥੧੧੭॥
n uchaae sakai sir ais lajee |117|
The army of Mandhata ran away, being grouped together and got so much ashmed that it could not carry the head of the king.117.
ਘਨ ਜੈਸੇ ਭਜੇ ਘਨ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੁਐ ॥
ghan jaise bhaje ghan ghaaeil huai |
ਬਰਖਾ ਜਿਮਿ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤ ਧਾਰ ਚੁਐ ॥
barakhaa jim sronat dhaar chuai |
The army, getting wounded, flew away like clouds and the blood flowed as if it was raining
ਸਭ ਮਾਨ ਮਹੀਪਤਿ ਛੇਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਦੈ ॥
sabh maan maheepat chhetreh dai |
ਸਬ ਹੀ ਦਲ ਭਾਜਿ ਚਲਾ ਜੀਅ ਲੈ ॥੧੧੮॥
sab hee dal bhaaj chalaa jeea lai |118|
Abandoning the dead king in the battlefield, the whole army of the king saved itself by fleeing away.118.
ਇਕ ਘੂਮਤ ਘਾਇਲ ਸੀਸ ਫੁਟੇ ॥
eik ghoomat ghaaeil sees futte |
ਇਕ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਚੁਚਾਵਤ ਕੇਸ ਛੁਟੇ ॥
eik sron chuchaavat kes chhutte |
Those who returned, their heads cracked, their hair were loosened and being wounded, the blood flowed form their heads
ਰਣਿ ਮਾਰ ਕੈ ਮਾਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲ ਲੀਏ ॥
ran maar kai maan trisool lee |
ਭਟ ਭਾਤਹਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਜਾਇ ਦੀਏ ॥੧੧੯॥
bhatt bhaateh bhaat bhajaae dee |119|
In this way, Lavanasura won the battle on the strength of his trident and caused the warriors of many kinds to run away.119.

When Mandhata was killed in the war, then Dileep became the king of Delhi

He destroyed the demons in various ways and propagated religion at all places.120.

When taking the trident of Shiva, Lavanasura killed the superb king mandhata, then the king Dileep came to the throne
ਭਯੋ ਦਲੀਪ ਜਗਤ ਕੋ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
bhayo daleep jagat ko raajaa |
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਜਿਹ ਰਾਜ ਬਿਰਾਜਾ ॥੧੨੧॥
bhaat bhaat jih raaj biraajaa |121|
He had various types of royal luxuries.121.
ਮਹਾਰਥੀ ਅਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਰਾ ॥
mahaarathee ar mahaa nripaaraa |
ਕਨਕ ਅਵਟਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਜਨੁ ਢਾਰਾ ॥
kanak avatt saache jan dtaaraa |
This king was a great warrior any Sovereign
ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਜਨੁ ਮਦਨ ਸਰੂਪਾ ॥
at sundar jan madan saroopaa |
ਜਾਨੁਕ ਬਨੇ ਰੂਪ ਕੋ ਭੂਪਾ ॥੧੨੨॥
jaanuk bane roop ko bhoopaa |122|
It seemed that he had been shaped in a mould of gold, like the form of the god of love, this king was so beautiful, that he appeared to be the Sovereign of Beauty.122.
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਗ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ ॥
bahu bidh kare jag bisathaaraa |
ਬਿਧਵਤ ਹੋਮ ਦਾਨ ਮਖਸਾਰਾ ॥
bidhavat hom daan makhasaaraa |
He performed various types of Yajnas and executed hom and bestowed charities according to Vedic injunctions
ਧਰਮ ਧੁਜਾ ਜਹ ਤਹ ਬਿਰਾਜੀ ॥
dharam dhujaa jeh teh biraajee |
ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਵਤੀ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਦੁਤਿ ਲਾਜੀ ॥੧੨੩॥
eindraavatee nirakh dut laajee |123|
His banner of the extension of Dharma fluttered here and there and seeing his glory, the abode of Indra felt shy.123.
ਪਗ ਪਗ ਜਗਿ ਖੰਭ ਕਹੁ ਗਾਡਾ ॥
pag pag jag khanbh kahu gaaddaa |
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਅੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਕਰਿ ਛਾਡਾ ॥
ghar ghar an saal kar chhaaddaa |
He got planted the columns of Yajnas at short distances
ਭੂਖਾ ਨਾਗ ਜੁ ਆਵਤ ਕੋਈ ॥
bhookhaa naag ju aavat koee |
ਤਤਛਿਨ ਇਛ ਪੁਰਾਵਤ ਸੋਈ ॥੧੨੪॥
tatachhin ichh puraavat soee |124|
And caused the granaries of corn to be built in every home, the hungry or naked, whosoever came, his desire was fulfilled Immediately.124.
ਜੋ ਜਿਹੰ ਮੁਖ ਮਾਗਾ ਤਿਹ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
jo jihan mukh maagaa tih paavaa |
ਬਿਮੁਖ ਆਸ ਫਿਰਿ ਭਿਛਕ ਨ ਆਵਾ ॥
bimukh aas fir bhichhak na aavaa |
Whosoever asked for anything, he obtained it and no beggar returned without the fulfillment of his wish
ਧਾਮਿ ਧਾਮਿ ਧੁਜਾ ਧਰਮ ਬਧਾਈ ॥
dhaam dhaam dhujaa dharam badhaaee |
ਧਰਮਾਵਤੀ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਮੁਰਛਾਈ ॥੧੨੫॥
dharamaavatee nirakh murachhaaee |125|
The banner of Dharma flew on every home and seeing this the abode of Dharamraja also became unconscious.125.
ਮੂਰਖ ਕੋਊ ਰਹੈ ਨਹਿ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
moorakh koaoo rahai neh paavaa |
ਬਾਰ ਬੂਢ ਸਭ ਸੋਧਿ ਪਢਾਵਾ ॥
baar boodt sabh sodh padtaavaa |
No one remained ignorant and all children and old people studied intelligently
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਹੋਤ ਭਈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
ghar ghar hot bhee har sevaa |
ਜਹ ਤਹ ਮਾਨਿ ਸਬੈ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਵਾ ॥੧੨੬॥
jeh teh maan sabai gur devaa |126|
There was the worship of the Lord in every home and the Lord was abored nad honoured everywhere.126.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਰਾਜ ਦਿਲੀਪ ਬਡੋ ਕਰਿ ॥
eih bidh raaj dileep baddo kar |
ਮਹਾਰਥੀ ਅਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਧਨੁਰ ਧਰ ॥
mahaarathee ar mahaa dhanur dhar |
Such was the rule of king Dileep, who himself was great warrior and a great archer
ਕੋਕ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਰ ਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
kok saasatr simrit sur giaanaa |
ਜੋਤਿਵੰਤ ਦਸ ਚਾਰਿ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥੧੨੭॥
jotivant das chaar nidhaanaa |127|
He had complete knowledge of Kok Shastra nd Smrities and he was expert in fourteen sciences.127.
ਮਹਾ ਕ੍ਰਮਠੀ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਜਾਨੂ ॥
mahaa kramatthee mahaa sujaanoo |
ਮਹਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਸ ਚਾਰਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੂ ॥
mahaa jot das chaar nidhaanoo |
He was a great hero and superb intellectual, he was the store of fourteen sciences
ਅਤਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਰੁ ਅਮਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਸਾ ॥
at saroop ar amit prabhaasaa |
ਮਹਾ ਮਾਨ ਅਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਉਦਾਸਾ ॥੧੨੮॥
mahaa maan ar mahaa udaasaa |128|
He was extremely charming and enormously glorious, he was also very proud and alongwith it, he was greatly deatched from the world.128.
ਬੇਦ ਅੰਗ ਖਟ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨਾ ॥
bed ang khatt saasatr prabeenaa |
ਧਨੁਰਬੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
dhanurabed prabh ke ras leenaa |
The king was expert in all Vedangs and six Shastras, he was the knower of the secret of Dhanurveda and also remained absorbed in the love of the Lord
ਖੜਗਨ ਈਸ੍ਵਰ ਪੁਨਿ ਅਤੁਲ ਬਲ ॥
kharragan eesvar pun atul bal |
ਅਰਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਜੀਤੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਲਿ ਮਲਿ ॥੧੨੯॥

He had many qualities and was unlimited like the virtues and strength of the Lord, he had conquered man
ਖੰਡ ਅਖੰਡ ਜੀਤਿ ਬਡ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
khandd akhandd jeet badd raajaa |
ਆਨਿ ਸਮਾਨ ਨ ਆਪੁ ਬਿਰਾਜਾ ॥
aan samaan na aap biraajaa |
He had conquered many kings of undivided territories and there was none like him
ਅਤਿ ਬਲਿਸਟ ਅਸਿ ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਾ ॥
at balisatt as tej prachanddaa |
ਅਰਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਧਿ ਉਦੰਡਾ ॥੧੩੦॥
ar anek jin saadh udanddaa |130|
He was extremely powerful and glorious and was very modest in the presence of the saints.130.
ਦੇਸ ਬਿਦੇਸ ਅਧਿਕ ਜਿਹ ਜੀਤਾ ॥
des bides adhik jih jeetaa |
ਜਹ ਤਹ ਚਲੀ ਰਾਜ ਕੀ ਨੀਤਾ ॥
jeh teh chalee raaj kee neetaa |
He conquered many countries far and near and his rule was discussed everywhere
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਰਾਜਾ ॥
bhaat bhaat sir chhatr biraajaa |
ਤਜਿ ਹਠ ਚਰਨਿ ਲਗੇ ਬਡ ਰਾਜਾ ॥੧੩੧॥
taj hatth charan lage badd raajaa |131|
He assumed many types of canopies and many great kings fell at his feet leaving their persistence.131.
ਜਹ ਤਹ ਹੋਤ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਰੀਤਾ ॥
jeh teh hot dharam kee reetaa |
ਕਹੂੰ ਨ ਪਾਵਤਿ ਹੋਨਿ ਅਨੀਤਾ ॥
kahoon na paavat hon aneetaa |
The traditions of Dharma became prevalent in all directions and there was no misconduct anywhere
ਦਾਨ ਨਿਸਾਨ ਚਹੂੰ ਚਕ ਬਾਜਾ ॥
daan nisaan chahoon chak baajaa |
ਕਰਨ ਕੁਬੇਰ ਬੇਣੁ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਜਾ ॥੧੩੨॥
karan kuber ben bal raajaa |132|
He became famous in bestowing charities like the king Varuna, Kuber, Ben, and Bali.132.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਨ ਰਾਜ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
bhaat bhaat tan raaj kamaaee |
ਆ ਸਮੁਦ੍ਰ ਲੌ ਫਿਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥
aa samudr lau firee duhaaee |
He ruled in various ways and his drum sounded upto the ocean
ਜਹ ਤਹ ਕਰਮ ਪਾਪ ਭਯੋ ਦੂਰਾ ॥
jeh teh karam paap bhayo dooraa |
ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਸਭ ਕਰਤ ਹਜੂਰਾ ॥੧੩੩॥
dharam karam sabh karat hajooraa |133|
The voice and fear were nowhere observed and all performed the religious actions in his presence.133.
ਜਹ ਤਹ ਪਾਪ ਛਪਾ ਸਬ ਦੇਸਾ ॥
jeh teh paap chhapaa sab desaa |
ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਉਠਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਨਰੇਸਾ ॥
dharam karam utth laag naresaa |
All the countries became sinless and all the kings observed the religious injunctions
ਆ ਸਮੁਦ੍ਰ ਲੌ ਫਿਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥
aa samudr lau firee duhaaee |
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਰੀ ਦਿਲੀਪ ਰਜਾਈ ॥੧੩੪॥
eih bidh karee dileep rajaaee |134|
The discussion about the rule of Dileep extended upto the ocean.134.

ਵਿਚਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਖਲੋਆ ॥
vich karataa purakh khaloaa |
The Creator Lord Himself stood between us,
ਵਾਲੁ ਨ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਹੋਆ ॥
vaal na vingaa hoaa |
and not a hair upon my head was touched.
ਮਜਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਆਂਦਾ ਰਾਸੇ ॥
majan gur aandaa raase |
The Guru made my cleansing bath successful;
ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਨਾਸੇ ॥੧॥
jap har har kilavikh naase |1|
meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, my sins were erased. ||1||
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਰੋਵਰੁ ਨੀਕਾ ॥
santahu raamadaas sarovar neekaa |
O Saints, the purifying pool of Ram Das is sublime.
ਜੋ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕੁਲੁ ਤਰਾਵੈ ਉਧਾਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਹੈ ਜੀ ਕਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo naavai so kul taraavai udhaar hoaa hai jee kaa |1| rahaau |
Whoever bathes in it, his family and ancestry are saved, and his soul is saved as well. ||1||Pause||
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਜਗੁ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
jai jai kaar jag gaavai |
The world sings cheers of victory,
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਅੜੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
man chindiarre fal paavai |
and the fruits of his mind's desires are obtained.
ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਨਾਇ ਆਏ ॥
sahee salaamat naae aae |
Whoever comes and bathes here,
ਅਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੨॥
apanaa prabhoo dhiaae |2|
And meditates on his God, is safe and sound. ||2||
ਸੰਤ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਨਾਵੈ ॥
sant sarovar naavai |
One who bathes in the healing pool of the Saints,
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
so jan param gat paavai |
that humble being obtains the supreme status.
ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਈ ॥
marai na aavai jaaee |
He does not die, or come and go in reincarnation;
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੩॥
har har naam dhiaaee |3|
he meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਇਹੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਿਚਾਰੁ ਸੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
eihu braham bichaar su jaanai |
He alone knows this about God,
ਜਿਸੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਭਗਵਾਨੈ ॥
jis deaal hoe bhagavaanai |
whom God blesses with His kindness.
ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
baabaa naanak prabh saranaaee |
Baba Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God;
ਸਭ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਗਣਤ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥੪॥੭॥੫੭॥
sabh chintaa ganat mittaaee |4|7|57|
all his worries and anxieties are dispelled. ||4||7||57||

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਨਿਬਾਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ॥

The Supreme Lord God has stood by me and fulfilled me,
ਕਾਈ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਰਹੀਆ ਊਰੀ ॥
kaaee baat na raheea aooree |
and nothing is left unfinished.
ਗੁਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਲਾਇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥
gur charan laae nisataare |
Attached to the Guru's feet, I am saved;
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮੑਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
har har naam samaare |1|
I contemplate and cherish the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਸਦਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥
apane daas kaa sadaa rakhavaalaa |
He is forever the Savior of His slaves.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਿਉ ਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirapaa apune kar raakhe maat pitaa jiau paalaa |1| rahaau |
Bestowing His Mercy, He made me His own and preserved me; like a mother or father, He cherishes me. ||1||Pause||
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
vaddabhaagee satigur paaeaa |
By great good fortune, I found the True Guru,
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥
jin jam kaa panth mittaaeaa |
who obliterated the path of the Messenger of Death.
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
har bhagat bhaae chit laagaa |
My consciousness is focused on loving, devotional worship of the Lord.
ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ॥੨॥
jap jeeveh se vaddabhaagaa |2|
One who lives in this meditation is very fortunate indeed. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
har amrit baanee gaavai |
He sings the Ambrosial Word of the Guru's Bani,
ਸਾਧਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੀ ਨਾਵੈ ॥
saadhaa kee dhooree naavai |
and bathes in the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਅਪੁਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਆ ॥
apunaa naam aape deea |
He Himself bestows His Name.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਆ ॥੩॥
prabh karanahaar rakh leea |3|
God, the Creator, saves us. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥
har darasan praan adhaaraa |
The Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan is the support of the breath of life.
ਇਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਿਮਲ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
eihu pooran bimal beechaaraa |
This is the perfect, pure wisdom.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
kar kirapaa antarajaamee |
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, has granted His Mercy;
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੮॥੫੮॥
daas naanak saran suaamee |4|8|58|
slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master. ||4||8||58||
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
soratth mahalaa 5 |
Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
gur poorai charanee laaeaa |
The Perfect Guru has attached me to His feet.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
har sang sahaaee paaeaa |
I have obtained the Lord as my companion, my support, my best friend.
ਜਹ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਹਾ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥
jeh jaaeeai tahaa suhele |
Wherever I go, I am happy there.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਲੇ ॥੧॥
kar kirapaa prabh mele |1|
By His Kind Mercy, God united me with Himself. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥
har gun gaavahu sadaa subhaaee |
So sing forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord with loving devotion.
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
man chinde sagale fal paavahu jeea kai sang sahaaee |1| rahaau |
You shall obtain all the fruits of your mind's desires, and the Lord shall become the companion and the support of your soul. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥
naaraaein praan adhaaraa |
The Lord is the support of the breath of life.
ਹਮ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਰੇਨਾਰਾ ॥
ham sant janaan renaaraa |
I am the dust of the feet of the Holy people.
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੇ ॥
patit puneet kar leene |
I am a sinner, but the Lord made me pure.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਦੀਨੇ ॥੨॥
kar kirapaa har jas deene |2|
By His Kind Mercy, the Lord blessed me with His Praises. ||2||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
paarabraham kare pratipaalaa |
The Supreme Lord God cherishes and nurtures me.
ਸਦ ਜੀਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥
sad jeea sang rakhavaalaa |
He is always with me, the Protector of my soul.
ਹਰਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
har din rain keeratan gaaeeai |
Singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises day and night,
ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜੋਨੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
bahurr na jonee paaeeai |3|
I shall not be consigned to reincarnation again. ||3||
ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
jis devai purakh bidhaataa |
One who is blessed by the Primal Lord, the Architect of Destiny,
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
har ras tin hee jaataa |
realizes the subtle essence of the Lord.
ਜਮਕੰਕਰੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥
jamakankar nerr na aaeaa |
The Messenger of Death does not come near him.
ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੯॥੫੯॥
sukh naanak saranee paaeaa |4|9|59|
In the Lord's Sanctuary, Nanak has found peace. ||4||9||59||
