The warriors are fighting in the war and the arrows are being discharged, the horse-riders are fighting in the battlefield and in their fury, they are absorbed in fighting.361.

The dreadful fighting continues and the warriors have got enraged, the warriors are striking their lances and are dismounting the fighters from their horses.362.

ਤਾਗੜਦੰ ਤੈ ਕੈ ਜਾਗੜਦੰ ਜੁਆਣੰ ॥

The soldiers have discharged the arrows and the horses have been killed and the fast-moving horses jumped and ran away.363.

ਖਾਗੜਦੰ ਖੂਨੀ ਖਯਾਗੜਦੰ ਖੇਤੰ ॥

khaagarradan khoonee khayaagarradan khetan |

ਝਾਗੜਦੰ ਝੂਝੇ ਆਗੜਦੰ ਅਚੇਤੰ ॥

jhaagarradan jhoojhe aagarradan achetan |

ਆਗੜਦੰ ਉਠੇ ਕਾਗੜਦੰ ਕੋਪੇ ॥

ਡਾਗੜਦੰ ਡਾਰੇ ਧਾਗੜਦੰ ਧੋਪੇ ॥੩੬੪॥

ddaagarradan ddaare dhaagarradan dhope |364|

The battlefield was saturated with blood and the warriors became unconscious during their fight, the fighters arise, get enraged and strike blows in great excitement.364.

Shiva is dancing and the cowards are running away, the warriors are fighting and are being struck by the arrows.365.

ਰਾਗੜਦੰ ਰੁਝੇ ਸਾਗੜਦੰ ਸੂਰੰ ॥

raagarradan rujhe saagarradan sooran |

ਘਾਗੜਦੰ ਘੁਮੀ ਹਾਗੜਦੰ ਹੂਰੰ ॥

ghaagarradan ghumee haagarradan hooran |

ਤਾਗੜਦੰ ਤਕੈ ਜਾਗੜਦੰ ਜੁਆਨੰ ॥

ਮਾਗੜਦੰ ਮੋਹੀ ਤਾਗੜਦੰ ਤਾਨੰ ॥੩੬੬॥

The warriors are absorbed in fighting and the heavenly damsels are moving for wedding them, the warriors are looking at them and they are also fascinated by them.366.

ਦਾਗੜਦੰ ਦੇਖੈ ਰਾਗੜਦੰ ਰੂਪੰ ॥

ਪਾਗੜਦੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੰ ਕਾਗੜਦੰ ਕੂਪੰ ॥

ddaagarradan ddubee paagarradan piaaree |

ਕਾਗੜਦੰ ਕਾਮੰ ਮਾਗੜਦੰ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੩੬੭॥

kaagarradan kaaman maagarradan maaree |367|

Their beauty allures the lovers like falling in the well, wherefrom they can never come out, these heavenly damsels have also drowned themselves in the sexual love of the beautiful warriors.367.

The women are getting allured and there is brightness of their elegance, the warriors seeing them are playing on various kinds of musical instruments.368.

The women, full of beauty and lust are dancing and the warriors, getting pleased are wedding them.369.

ਕਾਗੜਦੰ ਕੋਪਾ ਭਾਗੜਦੰ ਭੂਪੰ ॥

ਕਾਗੜਦੰ ਕਾਲੰ ਰਾਗੜਦੰ ਰੂਪੰ ॥

ਰਾਗੜਦੰ ਰੋਸੰ ਧਾਗੜਦੰ ਧਾਯੋ ॥

ਚਾਗੜਦੰ ਚਲ︀ਯੋ ਆਗੜਦੰ ਆਯੋ ॥੩੭੦॥

chaagarradan chalayo aagarradan aayo |370|

The king, getting infuriated, manifested himself as KAL (death) and in his anger, quickly advanced forward.370.

ਨਾਗੜਦੰ ਨਾਚੇ ਤਾਗੜਦੰ ਤਾਜੀ ॥

The warriors shouted, the horses danced, the fighters died and the ghosts etc. became pleased.371.

ਪਾਗੜਦੰ ਪਰਾਨੇ ਭਾਗੜਦੰ ਭੀਰੰ ॥

ਧਾਗੜਦੰ ਧਾਯੋ ਰਾਗੜਦੰ ਰਾਜਾ ॥

dhaagarradan dhaayo raagarradan raajaa |

ਰਾਗੜਦੰ ਰਣਕੇ ਬਾਗੜਦੰ ਬਾਜਾ ॥੩੭੨॥

raagarradan ranake baagarradan baajaa |372|

The warriors were being killed and the cowards began to run away, the king also fell upon the opponents and the musical instruments of war were played.372.

ਆਗੜਦੰ ਉਠੇ ਜਾਗੜਦੰ ਜੁਆਲੰ ॥

The swords were broken and fires blazed, with the infliction of arrows the warriors ran hither and thither.373.

ਰਾਗੜਦੰ ਰਹਸੀ ਦਾਗੜਦੰ ਦੇਵੀ ॥

raagarradan rahasee daagarradan devee |

ਗਾਗੜਦੰ ਗੈਣ ਆਗੜਦੰ ਭੇਵੀ ॥

gaagarradan gain aagarradan bhevee |

ਭਾਗੜਦੰ ਭੈਰੰ ਭਾਗੜਦੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੰ ॥

bhaagarradan bhairan bhaagarradan pretan |

ਹਾਗੜਦੰ ਹਸੇ ਖਾਗੜਦੰ ਖੇਤੰ ॥੩੭੪॥

haagarradan hase khaagarradan khetan |374|

Seeing the war, the goddess Kali also pleased in the sky, the Bhairav and ghosts etc. also in the battlefield.374.

Third Mehl:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

satigur seviai sadaa sukh janam maran dukh jaae |

Serving the True Guru, one finds a lasting peace; the pains of birth and death are removed.

ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥

chintaa mool na hovee achint vasai man aae |

He is not troubled by anxiety, and the carefree Lord comes to dwell in the mind.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥

antar teerath giaan hai satigur deea bujhaae |

Deep within himself, is the sacred shrine of spiritual wisdom, revealed by the True Guru.

ਮੈਲੁ ਗਈ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰਿ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਨਾਇ ॥

mail gee man niramal hoaa amrit sar teerath naae |

His filth is removed, and his soul becomes immaculately pure, bathing in the sacred shrine, the pool of Ambrosial Nectar.

ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਜਣਾ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

sajan mile sajanaa sachai sabad subhaae |

The friend meets with the True Friend, the Lord, through the love of the Shabad.

ਘਰ ਹੀ ਪਰਚਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥

ghar hee parachaa paaeaa jotee jot milaae |

Within the home of his own being, he finds the Divine Self, and his light blends with the Light.

ਪਾਖੰਡਿ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਛੋਡਈ ਲੈ ਜਾਸੀ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਇ ॥

paakhandd jamakaal na chhoddee lai jaasee pat gavaae |

The Messenger of Death does not leave the hypocrite; he is led away in dishonor.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥

naanak naam rate se ubare sache siau liv laae |2|

O Nanak, those who are imbued with the Naam are saved; they are in love with the True Lord. ||2||

Pauree:

ਤਿਤੁ ਜਾਇ ਬਹਹੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤੀ ਜਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਿਲੋਈਐ ॥

tit jaae bahahu satasangatee jithai har kaa har naam biloeeai |

Go, and sit in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, where the Name of the Lord is churned.

ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਤਤੁ ਨ ਖੋਈਐ ॥

sahaje hee har naam lehu har tat na khoeeai |

In peace and poise, contemplate the Lord's Name - don't lose the essence of the Lord.

ਨਿਤ ਜਪਿਅਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਢੋਈਐ ॥

nit japiahu har har dinas raat har daragah dtoeeai |

Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, constantly, day and night, and you shall be accepted in the Court of the Lord.

ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਲਿਖੋਈਐ ॥

so paae pooraa sataguroo jis dhur masatak lilaatt likhoeeai |

He alone finds the Perfect True Guru, on whose forehead such a pre-ordained destiny is written.

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੰਉ ਸਭਿ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਲ ਗਲੋਈਐ ॥੪॥

tis gur knau sabh namasakaar karahu jin har kee har gaal galoeeai |4|

Let everyone bow in worship to the Guru, who utters the sermon of the Lord. ||4||

Salok, Third Mehl:

ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਜਣਾ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

sajan mile sajanaa jin satagur naal piaar |

The friends who love the True Guru, meet with the Lord, the True Friend.

ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤਿਨੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਸਚੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

mil preetam tinee dhiaaeaa sachai prem piaar |

Meeting their Beloved, they meditate on the True Lord with love and affection.

ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਅਪਾਰਿ ॥

man hee te man maaniaa gur kai sabad apaar |

Their minds are appeased by their own minds, through the incomparable Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਏਹਿ ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥

ehi sajan mile na vichhurreh ji aap mele karataar |

These friends are united, and will not be separated again; they have been united by the Creator Lord Himself.

ਇਕਨਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਈਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਨ ਕਰਹਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥

eikanaa darasan kee parateet na aaeea sabad na kareh veechaar |

Some do not believe in the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan; they do not contemplate the Shabad.

ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਜਿਨਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

vichhurriaa kaa kiaa vichhurrai jinaa doojai bhaae piaar |

The separated ones are in love with duality - what more separation can they suffer?

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸੇਤੀ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਥੋੜੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ॥

manamukh setee dosatee thorrarriaa din chaar |

Friendship with the self-willed manmukhs lasts for only a few short days.

ਇਸੁ ਪਰੀਤੀ ਤੁਟਦੀ ਵਿਲਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਇਤੁ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਚਲਨਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥

eis pareetee tuttadee vilam na hovee it dosatee chalan vikaar |

This friendship is broken in an instant; this friendship leads to corruption.

ਜਿਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੇ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

jinaa andar sache kaa bhau naahee naam na kareh piaar |

They do not fear the True Lord within their hearts, and they do not love the Naam.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਚੈ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੧॥

naanak tin siau kiaa keechai dosatee ji aap bhulaae karataar |1|

O Nanak, why become friends with those whom the Creator Lord Himself has misled? ||1||

ਇਕਿ ਸਦਾ ਇਕਤੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥

eik sadaa ikatai rang raheh tin kai hau sad balihaarai jaau |

Some remain constantly imbued with the Lord's Love; I am forever a sacrifice to them.

ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ॥

tan man dhan arapee tin kau niv niv laagau paae |

I dedicate my mind, soul and wealth to them; bowing low, I fall at their feet.

ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਐ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਇ ॥

tin miliaa man santokheeai trisanaa bhukh sabh jaae |

Meeting them, the soul is satisfied, and one's hunger and thirst all depart.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥

naanak naam rate sukhee sadaa sache siau liv laae |2|

O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Naam are happy forever; they lovingly focus their minds on the True Lord. ||2||

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ॥

tis gur kau hau vaariaa jin har kee har kathaa sunaaee |

I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who recites the sermon of the Lord's Teachings.

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥

tis gur kau sad balihaaranai jin har sevaa banat banaaee |

I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru, who has led me to serve the Lord.

ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੈ ਕਿਥੈ ਮੈਨੋ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਈ ॥

so satigur piaaraa merai naal hai jithai kithai maino le chhaddaaee |

That Beloved True Guru is always with me; wherever I may be, He will save me.

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ॥

tis gur kau saabaas hai jin har sojhee paaee |

Most blessed is that Guru, who imparts understanding of the Lord.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਰਾਈ ॥੫॥

naanak gur vittahu vaariaa jin har naam deea mere man kee aas puraaee |5|

O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who has given me the Lord's Name, and fulfilled the desires of my mind. ||5||
