ਅਨੂਪ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰਧੁ ਜੋਧਣੰ ਬਰੰ ॥
anoop roop dikh kai su kradh jodhanan baran |
ਸਨਧ ਬਧ ਉਦਿਤੰ ਸੁ ਕੋਪ ਓਪ ਦੇ ਨਰੰ ॥
sanadh badh uditan su kop op de naran |
Seeing the unique beauty, the warriors are getting infuriated and wearing their weapons are reaching in the war-arena
ਚਹੰਤ ਜੈਤ ਪਤ੍ਰਣੰ ਕਰੰਤ ਘਾਵ ਦੁਧਰੰ ॥
chahant jait patranan karant ghaav dudharan |
ਤੁਟੰਤ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰਣੋ ਲਸੰਤ ਉਜਲੋ ਫਲੰ ॥੨੧੪॥
tuttant asatr sasatrano lasant ujalo falan |214|
The warriors are inflicting wounds from both the sides and are hoping to get the declaration of victory, with the breakage of weapons, their bright tips are being seen.214.
ਉਠੰਤ ਭਉਰ ਭੂਰਣੋ ਕਢੰਤ ਭੈਕਰੀ ਸੁਰੰ ॥
autthant bhaur bhoorano kadtant bhaikaree suran |
ਭਜੰਤ ਭੀਰ ਭੈਕਰੰ ਬਜੰਤ ਬੀਰ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਭੰ ॥
bhajant bheer bhaikaran bajant beer suprabhan |
The warriors rotating while roaming, are raising dreadful sounds, seeing the glory of the warriors, the cowards are running away
ਤੁਟੰਤ ਤਾਲ ਤਥਿਯੰ ਨਚੰਤ ਈਸ੍ਰਣੋ ਰਣੰ ॥
tuttant taal tathiyan nachant eesrano ranan |
ਖਹੰਤ ਖਤ੍ਰਿਣੋ ਖਗੰ ਨਿਨਦਿ ਗਦਿ ਘੁੰਘਰੰ ॥੨੧੫॥
khahant khatrino khagan ninad gad ghungharan |215|
Shiva is engaged in Tandava dance and the daggers are colliding with one another producing various types of sounds.215.
ਭਜੰਤ ਆਸੁਰੀ ਸੁਤੰ ਉਠੰਤ ਭੈਕਰੀ ਧੁਣੰ ॥
bhajant aasuree sutan utthant bhaikaree dhunan |
ਚਲੰਤ ਤੀਛਣੋ ਸਰੰ ਸਿਲੇਣ ਉਜਲੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੰ ॥
chalant teechhano saran silen ujalee kritan |
The sons of the demons, getting, frightened are running away and the sharp arrows are being discharged on them
ਨਚੰਤ ਰੰਗਿ ਜੋਗਣੰ ਚਚਕਿ ਚਉਦਣੋ ਦਿਸੰ ॥
nachant rang joganan chachak chaudano disan |
ਕਪੰਤ ਕੁੰਦਨੋ ਗਿਰੰ ਤ੍ਰਸੰਤ ਸਰਬਤੋ ਦਿਸੰ ॥੨੧੬॥
kapant kundano giran trasant sarabato disan |216|
The Yoginis are dancing in the fourteen directions and the Sumeru mountain are trembling.216.
ਨਚੰਤ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਵਰੰ ਖਹੰਤ ਬਾਹਣੀ ਧੁਜੰ ॥
nachant beer baavaran khahant baahanee dhujan |
ਬਰੰਤ ਅਛ੍ਰਣੋ ਭਟੰ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਚੀਨ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਭੰ ॥
barant achhrano bhattan prabeen cheen suprabhan |
All the warriors of Shiva are dancing and the heavenly damsels, after recognizing the fierce fighters are wedding them
ਬਕੰਤ ਡਉਰ ਡਾਮਰੀ ਅਨੰਤ ਤੰਤ੍ਰਣੋ ਰਿਸੰ ॥
bakant ddaur ddaamaree anant tantrano risan |
ਹਸੰਤ ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬੰ ਪਿਸਾਚ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤਨੰ ॥੨੧੭॥
hasant jachh gandhraban pisaach bhoot pretanan |217|
The witches in their fury are shouting and the yaskshas, gandharvas, imps, ghosts, fiends etc. are laughing.217.
ਭਰੰਤ ਚੁਚ ਚਾਵਡੀ ਭਛੰਤ ਫਿਕ੍ਰਣੀ ਤਨੰ ॥
bharant chuch chaavaddee bhachhant fikranee tanan |
ਡਕੰਤ ਡਾਕਣੀ ਡੁਲੰ ਭਰੰਤ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤੰ ॥
ddakant ddaakanee ddulan bharant patr sronatan |
The vultures flying and revolving, are devouring flesh and the vampires are drinking blood, filling it in their bowls
ਪਿਪੰਤ ਯਾਸਵੰ ਸੁਭੰ ਹਸੰਤ ਮਾਰਜਨੀ ਮ੍ਰਿੜੰ ॥
pipant yaasavan subhan hasant maarajanee mrirran |
ਅਟੁਟ ਹਾਸਣੋ ਹਸੰ ਖਿਮੰਤ ਉਜਲੋ ਅਸੰ ॥੨੧੮॥
attutt haasano hasan khimant ujalo asan |218|
The female ghosts and fiends are laughing while drinking blood and the luster of the swords is being seen and the continued laughter is being heard in the battlefield.218.

My mind, my mind - the True Guru has blessed it with the Lord's Love.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
har har har har naam merai man vasaaee raam |
He has enshrined the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har, within my mind.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ਸਭਿ ਦੂਖ ਵਿਸਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
har har naam merai man vasaaee sabh dookh visaaranahaaraa |
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, dwells within my mind; He is the Destroyer of all pain.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
vaddabhaagee gur darasan paaeaa dhan dhan satiguroo hamaaraa |
By great good fortune, I have obtained the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan; blessed, blessed is my True Guru.
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
aootthat baitthat satigur sevah jit seviai saant paaee |
While standing up and sitting down, I serve the True Guru; serving Him, I have found peace.
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥੧॥

My mind, my mind - the True Guru has blessed it with the Lord's Love. ||1||
ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਰਸੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
hau jeevaa hau jeevaa satigur dekh sarase raam |
I live, I live, and I blossom forth, beholding the True Guru.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਗਸੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
har naamo har naam drirraae jap har har naam vigase raam |
The Name of the Lord, the Name of the Lord, He has implanted within me; chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I blossom forth.
ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਮਲ ਪਰਗਾਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਵੰ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
jap har har naam kamal paragaase har naam navan nidh paaee |
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the heart-lotus blossoms forth, and through the Name of the Lord, I have obtained the nine treasures.
ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥
haumai rog geaa dukh laathaa har sehaj samaadh lagaaee |
The disease of egotism has been eradicated, suffering has been eliminated, and I have entered the Lord's state of celestial Samaadhi.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਡਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਵ ਮਨੁ ਪਰਸੇ ॥
har naam vaddaaee satigur te paaee sukh satigur dev man parase |
I have obtained the glorious greatness of Name of the Lord from the True Guru; beholding the Divine True Guru, my mind is at peace.
ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਰਸੇ ॥੨॥
hau jeevaa hau jeevaa satigur dekh sarase |2|
I live, I live, and I blossom forth, beholding the True Guru. ||2||
ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
koee aan koee aan milaavai meraa satigur pooraa raam |
If only someone would come, if only someone would come, and lead me to meet my Perfect True Guru.
ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਦੇਵਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਾਟਿ ਸਰੀਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
hau man tan hau man tan devaa tis kaatt sareeraa raam |
My mind and body, my mind and body - I cut my body into pieces, and I dedicate these to Him.
ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਕਾਟਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਈ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥
hau man tan kaatt kaatt tis deee jo satigur bachan sunaae |
Cutting my mind and body apart, cutting them into pieces, I offer these to the one, who recites to me the Words of the True Guru.
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਭਇਆ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
merai man bairaag bheaa bairaagee mil gur darasan sukh paae |
My unattached mind has renounced the world; obtaining the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan, it has found peace.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਦੇਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਹਮ ਧੂਰਾ ॥
har har kripaa karahu sukhadaate dehu satigur charan ham dhooraa |
O Lord, Har, Har, O Giver of Peace, please, grant Your Grace, and bless me with the dust of the feet of the True Guru.
ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੩॥
koee aan koee aan milaavai meraa satigur pooraa |3|
If only someone would come, if only someone would come, and lead me to meet my Perfect True Guru. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur jevadd gur jevadd daataa mai avar na koee raam |
A Giver as great as the Guru, as great as the Guru - I cannot see any other.
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨੋ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
har daano har daan devai har purakh niranjan soee raam |
He blesses me with the gift of the Lord's Name, the gift of the Lord's Name; He is the Immaculate Lord God.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ॥
har har naam jinee aaraadhiaa tin kaa dukh bharam bhau bhaagaa |
Those who worship in adoration the Name of the Lord, Har, Har - their pain, doubts and fears are dispelled.
ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
sevak bhaae mile vaddabhaagee jin gur charanee man laagaa |
Through their loving service, those very fortunate ones, whose minds are attached to the Guru's Feet, meet Him.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
kahu naanak har aap milaae mil satigur purakh sukh hoee |
Says Nanak, the Lord Himself causes us to meet the Guru; meeting the Almighty True Guru, peace is obtained.
ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੪॥੧॥
gur jevadd gur jevadd daataa mai avar na koee |4|1|
A Giver as great as the Guru, as great as the Guru - I cannot see any other. ||4||1||

Without the Guru, I am - without the Guru, I am totally dishonored.
ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਮੇਲਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
jagajeevan jagajeevan daataa gur mel samaanee raam |
The Life of the World, the Life of the World, the Great Giver has led me to meet and merge with the Guru.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
satigur mel har naam samaanee jap har har naam dhiaaeaa |
Meeting with the True Guru, I have merged into the Naam, the Name of the Lord. I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and meditate on it.
ਜਿਸੁ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਹੰਉ ਢੂੰਢਿ ਢੂਢੇਦੀ ਸੋ ਸਜਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jis kaaran hnau dtoondt dtoodtedee so sajan har ghar paaeaa |
I was seeking and searching for Him, the Lord, my best friend, and I have found Him within the home of my own being.
ਏਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੀ ॥
ek drisatt har eko jaataa har aatam raam pachhaanee |
I see the One Lord, and I know the One Lord; I realize Him within my soul.
ਹੰਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੰਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਖਰੀ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
hnau gur bin hnau gur bin kharee nimaanee |1|
Without the Guru, I am - without the Guru, I am totally dishonored. ||1||
ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
jinaa satigur jin satigur paaeaa tin har prabh mel milaae raam |
Those who have found the True Guru, the True Guru, the Lord God unites them in His Union.
ਤਿਨ ਚਰਣ ਤਿਨ ਚਰਣ ਸਰੇਵਹ ਹਮ ਲਾਗਹ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
tin charan tin charan sarevah ham laagah tin kai paae raam |
Their feet, their feet, I adore; I fall at their feet.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਸਰੇਵਹ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧੵਾਇਆ ॥
har har charan sarevah tin ke jin satigur purakh prabh dhayaaeaa |
O Lord, Har, Har, I adore the feet of those who meditate on the True Guru, and the Almighty Lord God.
ਤੂ ਵਡਦਾਤਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੂਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
too vaddadaataa antarajaamee meree saradhaa poor har raaeaa |
You are the Greatest Giver, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; please, reward my faith, O Lord King.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮੇਲਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥
gurasikh mel meree saradhaa pooree anadin raam gun gaae |
Meeting the Gursikh, my faith is rewarded; night and day, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥
jin satigur jin satigur paaeaa tin har prabh mel milaae |2|
Those who have found the True Guru, the True Guru, the Lord God unites them in His Union. ||2||
ਹੰਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਹੰਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
hnau vaaree hnau vaaree gurasikh meet piaare raam |
I am a sacrifice, I am a sacrifice to the Gursikhs, my dear friends.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
har naamo har naam sunaae meraa preetam naam adhaare raam |
They chant the Lord's Name, the Lord's Name; the Beloved Naam, the Name of the Lord, is my only Support.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸਖਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੜੀ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ॥
har har naam meraa praan sakhaaee tis bin gharree nimakh nahee jeevaan |
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the companion of my breath of life; without it, I cannot live for an instant or a moment.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਾਂ ॥
har har kripaa kare sukhadaataa guramukh amrit peevaan |
The Lord, Har, Har, the Giver of peace, shows His Mercy, and the Gurmukh drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar.
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਰਧਾ ਲਾਇ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
har aape saradhaa laae milaae har aape aap savaare |
The Lord blesses him with faith, and unites him in His Union; He Himself adorns him.
ਹੰਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਹੰਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੩॥
hnau vaaree hnau vaaree gurasikh meet piaare |3|
I am a sacrifice, I am a sacrifice to the Gursikhs, my dear friends. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
har aape har aape purakh niranjan soee raam |
The Lord Himself, the Lord Himself, is the Immaculate Almighty Lord God.
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲੈ ਕਰੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
har aape har aape melai karai so hoee raam |
The Lord Himself, the Lord Himself, unites us with Himself; that which He does, comes to pass.
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥
jo har prabh bhaavai soee hovai avar na karanaa jaaee |
Whatever is pleasing to the Lord God, that alone comes to pass; nothing else can be done.
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਲਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
bahut siaanap leaa na jaaee kar thaake sabh chaturaaee |
Even by very clever tricks, He cannot be obtained; all have grown weary of practicing cleverness.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
gur prasaad jan naanak dekhiaa mai har bin avar na koee |
By Guru's Grace, servant Nanak beholds the Lord; without the Lord, I have no other at all.
