ਮਾਨਿ ਬਾਤ ਠਾਢੇ ਰਹੇ ਸੈਨ ਦੋਊ ਤਜਿ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ॥
maan baat tthaadte rahe sain doaoo taj krudh |
ਦੋਊ ਹਰਿ ਆਵਤ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਿਤ ਜੁਧ ॥੨੨੬੭॥
doaoo har aavat bhe har samaan hit judh |2267|
Agreeing to this proposal, both the forces abandoning their anger stood there and both the Vasudevs advanced forward to fight.2267.

ਆਏ ਹੈ ਮਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਜਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਲਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੋਊ ਜਨੁ ਆਏ ॥
aae hai mat karee jan due larabe kahu singh doaoo jan aae |
It seemed that two intoxicated elephants or two lions had come to fight with each other
ਅੰਤਕਿ ਅੰਤ ਸਮੈ ਜਨੁ ਈਸ ਸਪਛ ਮਨੋ ਗਿਰਿ ਜੂਝਨ ਧਾਏ ॥
antak ant samai jan ees sapachh mano gir joojhan dhaae |
It seemed that two winged mountains were flying on doomsday to fight with each other,
ਕੈ ਦੋਊ ਮੇਘ ਪ੍ਰਲੈ ਦਿਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਧਿ ਨੀਰ ਦੋਊ ਕਿਧੋ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਢਾਏ ॥
kai doaoo megh pralai din ke nidh neer doaoo kidho krodh badtaae |
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਹੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਭਰੇ ਦੋਊ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਲਖਿ ਯੌ ਕਬਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੨੨੬੮॥
maanahu rudr hee krodh bhare doaoo hai man mai lakh yau kab paae |2268|
Or the clouds were thundering and raining in fury on the doomsday, they appeared to be the infuriated Rudras.2268.

ਜੈਸੇ ਝੂਠ ਸਾਚ ਸੋ ਪਖਾਨ ਜੈਸੇ ਕਾਚ ਸੋ ਅਉ ਪਾਰਾ ਜੈਸੇ ਆਂਚ ਸੋ ਪਤਊਆ ਜਿਉ ਲਹਿਰ ਸੋ ॥
jaise jhootth saach so pakhaan jaise kaach so aau paaraa jaise aanch so ptaooaa jiau lahir so |
Just as falsehood cannot stay against truth, the glass against the stone, the mercury against the fire and the leaf against the wave
ਜੈਸੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਮੋਹ ਸੋ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਜੈਸੇ ਦ੍ਰੋਹ ਸੋ ਤਪਸੀ ਦਿਜ ਧ੍ਰੋਹਿ ਸੋ ਅਨਰ ਜੈਸੇ ਨਰ ਸੋ ॥
jaise giaan moh so bibek jaise droh so tapasee dij dhrohi so anar jaise nar so |
Just as attachment cannot stay against knowledge, malice against wisdom, pride against the ascetic Brahmin and the animal against the human being
ਲਾਜ ਜੈਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਸੋ ਸੁ ਸੀਤ ਜੈਸੇ ਘਾਮੁ ਸੋ ਅਉ ਪਾਪ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੋ ਅਛਰ ਜੈਸੇ ਛਰ ਸੋ ॥
laaj jaise kaam so su seet jaise ghaam so aau paap raam naam so achhar jaise chhar so |
Just as the shame cannot stand against the lust, the cold against the heat, the sin against the Name of the Lord, temporary object before the permanent object, miserliness against the charity and the anger against the respect
ਸੂਮਤਾ ਜਿਉ ਦਾਨ ਸੋ ਜਿਉ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਸੋ ਸੁ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਬਿ ਐਸੇ ਆਇ ਭਿਰਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ॥੨੨੬੯॥
soomataa jiau daan so jiau krodh sanamaan so su sayaam kab aise aae bhirayo har har so |2269|
In the same way these two Vasudevas consisting of opposite qualities fought against each other.2269.

ਜੁਧੁ ਭਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਤਹਾ ਤਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

ਮਾਰਤ ਹਉ ਤੁਹਿ ਏ ਰੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਗਾਲ ਮੈ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਇਮ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਪਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
maarat hau tuhi e re srigaal mai sayaam bhanai im sayaam pachaariyo |
When the dreadful war was fought there, then ultimately Krishna holding his discus challenged Shragaal and said, “I am killing you
ਛੋਰਿ ਸੁਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਤ ਭਯੋ ਸਿਰੁ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੁਦਾ ਕਰ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
chhor sudarasan det bhayo sir satru ko maar judaa kar ddaariyo |
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਕੁਮ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਲੈ ਤਾਗਹਿ ਕੋ ਚਕ ਤੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਬਾਸਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਉਤਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੨੭੦॥
maanahu kumrahaar lai taageh ko chak te fun baasan kaatt utaariyo |2270|
He discharged his discuss (Sudarshan Chakra), which chopped the head of the enemy like the potter with the aid of the thread has separated the vessel from the revolving wheel.2270.
ਦੇਖਿ ਸ੍ਰਿਗਾਲ ਹਨਿਯੋ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਇਕ ਕਾਸੀ ਕੋ ਭੂਪ ਹੁਤੋ ਸੋਊ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
dekh srigaal haniyo ran mai ik kaasee ko bhoop huto soaoo dhaayo |
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਸੋ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਆਇ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
sree brijanaath so sayaam bhanai at hee tih aae kai judh machaayo |
Seeing the dead Shragaal, a king of Kashi advanced forward and he waged a dreadful war with Krishna
ਮਾਰਿ ਮਚੀ ਅਤਿ ਜੋ ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਸੁ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਹ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥
maar machee at jo tih tthaa su tabai tih sayaam joo chakr chalaayo |
ਜਿਉ ਅਰਿ ਆਗਲਿ ਕੋ ਕਟਿਯੋ ਸੀਸੁ ਤਿਹੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਯਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਕਾਟਿ ਗਿਰਾਯੋ ॥੨੨੭੧॥
jiau ar aagal ko kattiyo sees tihee bidh yaahee ko kaatt giraayo |2271|
There was a great destruction there and hero also Krishna discharged his discus and chopped the head of the king like the earlier king.2271.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਜੂ ਜਬ ਏ ਦੋਊ ਸੈਨ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਤ ਕੋਪਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
sree brij naaeik joo jab e doaoo sain ke dekhat kop sanghaare |
Both these forces saw Krishna destroying the warrior in anger
ਫੂਲ ਭਈ ਮਨ ਸਬਨਨ ਕੇ ਤਬ ਬਾਜ ਉਠੀ ਸਹਨਾਇ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥
fool bhee man sabanan ke tab baaj utthee sahanaae nagaare |
All were plesed and the clarionets and drums were played
ਅਉਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਅਰਿ ਬੀਰ ਹੁਤੇ ਸਭ ਆਪਨੇ ਆਪਨੇ ਧਾਮਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥
aaur jite ar beer hute sabh aapane aapane dhaam sidhaare |
ਫੂਲ ਪਰੇ ਨਭ ਮੰਡਲ ਤੇ ਘਨ ਜਿਉ ਘਨਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਪੈ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥੨੨੭੨॥
fool pare nabh manddal te ghan jiau ghan sayaam pai sayaam uchaare |2272|
The warriors of the enemy’s army left for their homes and there was a shower of flowers from the sky on Krishna like the rain coming from clouds.2272.

ਸੈਨ ਭਜਿਯੋ ਜਬ ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੋ ਤਬ ਆਪਨੇ ਸੈਨ ਮੈ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਆਏ ॥
sain bhajiyo jab satran ko tab aapane sain mai sayaam joo aae |
When the enemy’s forces ran away, Krishna cam to his army
ਆਵਤ ਦੇਵ ਹੁਤੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਨ ਸੋ ਲਪਟਾਏ ॥
aavat dev hute jitane titane har paaein so lapattaae |
Those gods who were there, clung to his feet
ਦੈ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਦਛਨ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਸਭੋ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਖ ਬਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਧੂਪ ਜਗਾਏ ॥
dai kai pradachhan sayaam sabho tin sankh bajaae kai dhoop jagaae |
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਸਭ ਹੂ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਬੀਰ ਸਹੀ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੨੨੭੩॥
sayaam bhanai sabh hoo man mai brij naaeik beer sahee kar paae |2273|
They circumambulated around Krishna, blew there conches, burnt the incences and recognized Krishna as the real hero.2273.
ਉਤ ਕੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਦਛ ਗਏ ਇਤਿ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਵਤੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਆਯੋ ॥
aut kai upamaa grihi dachh ge it dvaaravatee brij naaeik aayo |
On that side Daksha, eulogsising Krishna, went to his home and on this side Krishna came to Dwarka
ਜਾਇ ਉਤੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਭੂਪ ਕੋ ਕਾਸੀ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਪੁਰਿ ਸੋਕ ਜਨਾਯੋ ॥
jaae utai sir bhoop ko kaasee ke beech pariyo pur sok janaayo |
On that side in Kashi, the people aggrieved on displaying the chopped head of the king
ਭਾਖਤ ਭੇ ਸਭ ਯੌ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਸੋਈ ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
bhaakhat bhe sabh yau bateeyaa soee yau keh kai kab sayaam sunaayo |
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਸੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਜੈਸੇ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕਾਜ ਕੀਯੋ ਫਲੁ ਤੈਸੋ ਈ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੨੨੭੪॥
sayaam joo so hamare jaise bhoopat kaaj keeyo fal taiso ee paayo |2274|
They talked like this that was the reward of the behaviour that the king had adopted towards Krishna.2274.
ਜਾ ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ ਨਾਰਦ ਕੋ ਸਿਵ ਕੋ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਜਗ ਲੋਕ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
jaa chaturaanan naarad ko siv ko utth kai jag lok dhiaavai |
ਨਾਰ ਨਿਵਾਇ ਭਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੰਖ ਬਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਧੂਪ ਜਗਾਵੈ ॥
naar nivaae bhale tin ko fun sankh bajaae kai dhoop jagaavai |
Brahma, Narada and Shiva, on whom the people meditate and by burning incense and blowing the conch, they worship them on bowing their heads,
ਡਾਰ ਕੈ ਫੂਲ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਸਿਰ ਨਾਵੈ ॥
ddaar kai fool bhalee bidh so kab sayaam bhanai tih so sir naavai |
ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਕੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੋ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਗਾਵਤ ਪਾਰ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨੨੭੫॥
te brijanaath ke saadhan ko gun gaavat gaavat paar na paavai |2275|
They offer leaves and flowers with bowed heads, these Brahmas, Narada and Shiva etc, have not been able to comprehend the mystery of Krishna.2275.
ਕਾਸੀ ਕੇ ਭੂਪ ਕੋ ਪੂਤ ਸੁਦਛਨ ਤਾ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
kaasee ke bhoop ko poot sudachhan taa man mai at krodh badtaayo |
ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋ ਕੀਯੋ ਬਧੁ ਜਾਇ ਹਉ ਤਾਹਿ ਹਨੋ ਚਿਤ ਬੀਚ ਬਸਾਯੋ ॥
mere pitaa ko keeyo badh jaae hau taeh hano chit beech basaayo |
Sudaksha, the son of the king of Kashi, getting enraged, thought, “He who has killed my father, I shall also kill him
ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀ ਸਿਵ ਕੀ ਹਿਤ ਸੋ ਤਿਹ ਗਾਲ੍ਰਹ ਬਜਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਾਯੋ ॥
sev karee siv kee hit so tih gaalrah bajaae prasan karaayo |
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਹਨੋ ਝਟ ਦੈ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਤਿਨਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਤਟ ਦੈ ਬਰੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੨੨੭੬॥
sayaam hano jhatt dai chhin mai tin sayaam bhanai tatt dai bar paayo |2276|
H e served and adored Shiva with the singleness of his mind and pleasing him, he obtained the boon of killing Krishna in an instant.2276.
ਗੂਜਰੀ ॥

ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਲਛਮੀ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
ant kaal jo lachhamee simarai aisee chintaa meh je marai |
At the very last moment, one who thinks of wealth, and dies in such thoughts,
ਸਰਪ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੧॥
sarap jon val val aautarai |1|
shall be reincarnated over and over again, in the form of serpents. ||1||
ਅਰੀ ਬਾਈ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਤਿ ਬੀਸਰੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aree baaee gobid naam mat beesarai | rahaau |
O sister, do not forget the Name of the Lord of the Universe. ||Pause||
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
ant kaal jo isatree simarai aisee chintaa meh je marai |
At the very last moment, he who thinks of women, and dies in such thoughts,
ਬੇਸਵਾ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੨॥
besavaa jon val val aautarai |2|
shall be reincarnated over and over again as a prostitute. ||2||
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਲੜਿਕੇ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
ant kaal jo larrike simarai aisee chintaa meh je marai |
At the very last moment, one who thinks of his children, and dies in such thoughts,
ਸੂਕਰ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੩॥
sookar jon val val aautarai |3|
shall be reincarnated over and over again as a pig. ||3||
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਮੰਦਰ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
ant kaal jo mandar simarai aisee chintaa meh je marai |
At the very last moment, one who thinks of mansions, and dies in such thoughts,
ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੪॥
pret jon val val aautarai |4|
shall be reincarnated over and over again as a goblin. ||4||
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥
ant kaal naaraaein simarai aisee chintaa meh je marai |
At the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord, and dies in such thoughts,
ਬਦਤਿ ਤਿਲੋਚਨੁ ਤੇ ਨਰ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਪੀਤੰਬਰੁ ਵਾ ਕੇ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸੈ ॥੫॥੨॥
badat tilochan te nar mukataa peetanbar vaa ke ridai basai |5|2|
says Trilochan, that man shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his heart. ||5||2||
ਗੂਜਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜੈਦੇਵ ਜੀਉ ਕਾ ਪਦਾ ਘਰੁ ੪ ॥

In the very beginning, was the Primal Lord, unrivalled, the Lover of Truth and other virtues.
ਪਰਮਦਭੁਤੰ ਪਰਕ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਪਰੰ ਜਦਿਚਿੰਤਿ ਸਰਬ ਗਤੰ ॥੧॥
paramadabhutan parakrit paran jadichint sarab gatan |1|
He is absolutely wonderful, transcending creation; remembering Him, all are emancipated. ||1||
ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਮਨੋਰਮੰ ॥

Dwell only upon the beauteous Name of the Lord,
ਬਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਤਤ ਮਇਅੰ ॥
bad amrit tat meian |
the embodiment of ambrosial nectar and reality.
ਨ ਦਨੋਤਿ ਜਸਮਰਣੇਨ ਜਨਮ ਜਰਾਧਿ ਮਰਣ ਭਇਅੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
n danot jasamaranen janam jaraadh maran bheian |1| rahaau |
Remembering Him in meditation, the fear of birth, old age and death will not trouble you. ||1||Pause||
ਇਛਸਿ ਜਮਾਦਿ ਪਰਾਭਯੰ ਜਸੁ ਸ੍ਵਸਤਿ ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੰ ॥
eichhas jamaad paraabhayan jas svasat sukrit kritan |
If you desire to escape the fear of the Messenger of Death, then praise the Lord joyfully, and do good deeds.
ਭਵ ਭੂਤ ਭਾਵ ਸਮਬੵਿਅੰ ਪਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਮਿਦੰ ॥੨॥
bhav bhoot bhaav samabayian paraman prasanamidan |2|
In the past, present and future, He is always the same; He is the embodiment of supreme bliss. ||2||
ਲੋਭਾਦਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਪਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੰ ਜਦਿਬਿਧਿ ਆਚਰਣੰ ॥
lobhaad drisatt par grihan jadibidh aacharanan |
If you seek the path of good conduct, forsake greed, and do not look upon other men's property and women.
ਤਜਿ ਸਕਲ ਦੁਹਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੁਰਮਤੀ ਭਜੁ ਚਕ੍ਰਧਰ ਸਰਣੰ ॥੩॥
taj sakal duhakrit duramatee bhaj chakradhar saranan |3|
Renounce all evil actions and evil inclinations, and hurry to the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤ ਨਿਜ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲਾ ਰਿਦ ਕਰਮਣਾ ਬਚਸਾ ॥
har bhagat nij nihakevalaa rid karamanaa bachasaa |
Worship the immaculate Lord, in thought, word and deed.

jogen kin jagen kin daanen kin tapasaa |4|
What is the good of practicing Yoga, giving feasts and charity, and practicing penance? ||4||
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੇਤਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਰ ਸਕਲ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਦੰ ॥
gobind gobindet jap nar sakal sidh padan |
Meditate on the Lord of the Universe, the Lord of the Universe, O man; He is the source of all the spiritual powers of the Siddhas.
ਜੈਦੇਵ ਆਇਉ ਤਸ ਸਫੁਟੰ ਭਵ ਭੂਤ ਸਰਬ ਗਤੰ ॥੫॥੧॥
jaidev aaeiau tas safuttan bhav bhoot sarab gatan |5|1|
