ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਦਸਾ ਪਿਖਿ ਰੁਕਮਿਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਗਹਿ ਪਾਇ ॥

Seeing his brother in such a plight, Rukmani caught hold of the feel of Krishna and got his brother released through several kinds of requests.2003.

joaoo taeh sahaae kau aavat bhe su hane sabh hee chit mai cheh kai |
Those who came for his support, they were also killed as Krishna willed
ਜੋਊ ਸੂਰ ਹਨਿਯੋ ਨ ਹਨਿਯੋ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਅਰੇ ਮਾਰਤ ਹਉ ਤੁਹਿ ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ॥
joaoo soor haniyo na haniyo chhal so are maarat hau tuhi yau keh kai |
The warrior who was killed, he was not killed by deception but killed after challenging him
ਬਹੁ ਭੂਪ ਹਨੇ ਗਜਬਾਜ ਰਥੀ ਸਰਤਾ ਬਹੁ ਸ੍ਰੋਨ ਚਲੀ ਬਹਿ ਕੈ ॥
bahu bhoop hane gajabaaj rathee sarataa bahu sron chalee beh kai |
Many kings, elephants, horses and chariot riders were killed and the stream of blood flowed there
ਫਿਰਿ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਕੋ ਕਹੇ ਪੀਯ ਛੋਡ ਦਯੋ ਰੁਕਮੀ ਰਨਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਭਲੇ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ॥੨੦੦੪॥
fir treey ko kahe peey chhodd dayo rukamee ran jeet bhale geh kai |2004|
On the request of Rukmani, Krishna caught and released many warriors of the side of Rukmi.2004.
ਤਉ ਲਉ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰ ਪਰਿਓ ਤਿਨ ਮੈ ਚਿਤਿ ਰੋਸ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥

ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਸੈਨ ਭਜਿਯੋ ਜੋਊ ਜਾਤ ਹੋ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਸਭ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
satran sain bhajiyo joaoo jaat ho sayaam bhanai sabh kau mil ghaayo |
Till that time, Balram also, getting enraged and carrying his mace, fell upon the army and he knocked down the running army
ਘਾਇ ਕੈ ਸੈਨ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਕੀ ਢਿਗ ਆਯੋ ॥

Though Krishna conquered the brother of Rukmani, but he did not perform the right type of task by shaving his head.2006.

Arresting and releasing Rukmi in the city, Krishna came to Dwarka
ਆਇ ਹੈ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਜੀਤਿ ਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਸਭ ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਨ ਧਾਏ ॥
aae hai kaanrah joo jeet treea sabh yau sun kai jan dekhan dhaae |
On coming to know that Krishna has conquered and brought Rukmani, the people cam to see her
ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਕਉ ਜੇ ਥੇ ਦਿਜੋਤਮ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਬੁਲਾਏ ॥
bayaah ke kaaj kau je the dijotam te sabh hee mil kai su bulaae |
Several eminent Brahmins were called for performing the wedding-ceremonies
ਅਉਰ ਜਿਤੋ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਬਡੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਸਭ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਏ ॥੨੦੦੭॥

All the warriors were also invited there.2007.

Hearing about the wedding of Krishna, the ladies of the city came while singing songs
ਨਾਚਤ ਡੋਲਤ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਵਤ ॥
naachat ddolat bhaat bhalee kab sayaam bhanai mil taal bajaavat |
They sand and danced in accompaniment with musical tunes,
ਆਪਸਿ ਮੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਤਰੁਨੀ ਸਭ ਖੇਲਨ ਕਉ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਠਟ ਪਾਵਤ ॥
aapas mai mil kai tarunee sabh khelan kau at hee tthatt paavat |
And the damsels getting together began to laugh and play
ਅਉਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਕਹਾ ਕਹੀਐ ਪਿਖਿਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਦੇਵ ਬਧੂ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਵਤ ॥੨੦੦੮॥
aaur kee baat kahaa kaheeai pikhibe kahu dev badhoo mil aavat |2008|
What to speak of other, even the wives of gods came to see this spectacle.2008.
ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਨ ਕਉ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਕਉਤਕ ਆਵੈ ॥
sundar naar nihaaran kau taj kai grih jo ih kautak aavai |
ਨਾਚਤ ਕੂਦਤ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਅਉਰ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਸਰਾਵੈ ॥
naachat koodat bhaat bhalee grih kee sudh aaur sabhai bisaraavai |
He, who comes to see the beautiful damsel Rumkani and this pageant, he, joining the dance and sport, forgets the consciousness about his home
ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਬ︀ਯਾਹਹਿ ਕੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਅਪਨੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
dekh kai bayaaheh kee rachanaa sabh hee apano man mai sukh paavai |
ਐਸੇ ਕਹੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਸਭੈ ਜਬ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਉ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਭੈ ਲਲਚਾਵੈ ॥੨੦੦੯॥
aise kahai bal jaeh sabhai jab kaanrah kau dekh sabhai lalachaavai |2009|
All are getting pleased, seeing the plan of wedding and seeing Krishna, all are getting charmed in their mind.2009.
ਜਬ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੇ ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਕਉ ਬੇਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਪੁਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਸਭੈ ਮਿਲ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਯੋ ॥
jab kaanrah ke bayaah kau bedee rachee pur naar sabhai mil mangal gaayo |
On the completion of the wedding-altar of Krishna, all the women sang songs of praise
ਨਾਚਤ ਭੇ ਨਟੂਆ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗਨ ਤਾਲ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਦ੍ਰਯਾਯੋ ॥
naachat bhe nattooaa tih tthaur mridangan taal bhalee bidh drayaayo |
The jugglers began to dance according to the musical tune of the drums
ਕੋਟਿ ਕਤੂਹਲ ਹੋਤ ਭਏ ਅਰੁ ਬੇਸਿਯਨ ਕੋ ਕਛੁ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਆਯੋ ॥
kott katoohal hot bhe ar besiyan ko kachh ant na aayo |
Many concubines exhibited many kinds of mimicry
ਜੋ ਇਹ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਉ ਚਲਿ ਆਯੋ ਹੁਤੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੨੦੧੦॥
jo ih kautuk dekhan kau chal aayo huto sabh hee sukh paayo |2010|
Whosoever came to see this spectacle, obtained extreme delight.2010.
ਏਕ ਬਜਾਵਤ ਬੇਨੁ ਸਖੀ ਇਕ ਹਾਥਿ ਲੀਏ ਸਖੀ ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥

Some damsel is playing the flute and someone is clapping her hands
ਨਾਚਤ ਏਕ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਏਕ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਗਾਵੈ ॥

Someone is dancing according to the norms and someone is singing
ਝਾਜਰ ਏਕ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਕੇ ਬਾਜਤ ਆਏ ਭਲੇ ਇਕ ਹਾਵ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥
jhaajar ek mridang ke baajat aae bhale ik haav dikhaavai |
ਭਾਇ ਕਰੈ ਇਕ ਆਇ ਤਬੈ ਚਿਤ ਕੇ ਰਨਿਵਾਰਨ ਮੋਦ ਬਢਾਵੈ ॥੨੦੧੧॥
bhaae karai ik aae tabai chit ke ranivaaran mod badtaavai |2011|
Someone is ringing the anklet, someone is playing on the drum and someone is showing her charms and someone is pleasing all by exhibiting her charms.2011.
ਬਾਰੁਨੀ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਸੰਗ ਛਕੇ ਜਹ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਬਢੈ ਕੈ ॥
baarunee ke ras sang chhake jeh baitthe hai krisan hulaas badtai kai |
ਕੁੰਕਮ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗੇ ਪਟਵਾ ਭਟਵਾ ਅਪਨੇ ਅਤਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥
kunkam rang range pattavaa bhattavaa apane at aanand kai kai |
The place where Krishna is sitting intoxicated with wine and wearing happily his red garments,
ਮੰਗਨ ਲੋਗਨ ਦੇਤ ਘਨੋ ਧਨ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਨਚਵੈ ਕੈ ॥
mangan logan det ghano dhan sayaam bhanai at hee nachavai kai |
From that place, he is giving wealth in charity to the dancers and beggars
ਰੀਝਿ ਰਹੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਫੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਕੀ ਓਰਿ ਚਿਤੈ ਕੈ ॥੨੦੧੨॥
reejh rahe man mai sabh hee fun sree jadubeer kee or chitai kai |2012|
And all are getting pleased on seeing Krishna.2012.
ਬੇਦ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਲਿਖੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਿਉ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਤਿਹੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
bed ke beech likhee bidh jiau jadubeer bayaah tihee bidh keeno |
ਜੋ ਰੁਕਮੀ ਤੇ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੈ ਰੁਕਮਨਿਹਿ ਕੋ ਪੁਨਿ ਜੀਤ ਕੈ ਲੀਨੋ ॥
jo rukamee te bhalee bidh kai rukamanihi ko pun jeet kai leeno |
Krishna married Rukmani according to the Vedic rites, whom he had conquered from Rukmi
ਜੀਤਹਿ ਕੀ ਬਤੀਆ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਭੀਤਰ ਮੋਦ ਬਢਿਓ ਪੁਰ ਤੀਨੋ ॥
jeeteh kee bateea sun kai at bheetar mod badtio pur teeno |
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਇਹ ਕਉਤਕ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰਨ ਕਉ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੨੦੧੩॥
sayaam bhanai ih kautak kai sabh hee jadubeeran kau sukh deeno |2013|
The mind of all wer full of the happy tidings of victory and seeing this pageant, all the Yadavas were extremely happy.2013.
ਸੁਖ ਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਮਾਇ ਪੀਯੋ ਜਲ ਵਾਰ ਕੈ ਅਉ ਦ੍ਵਿਜ ਲੋਕਨ ਦਾਨ ਦੀਓ ਹੈ ॥
sukh maan kai maae peeyo jal vaar kai aau dvij lokan daan deeo hai |
The mother made the offering of water and drank it
ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਭੂਅ ਕੋ ਸੁਖ ਆਜ ਸਭੈ ਹਮ ਲੂਟਿ ਲੀਓ ਹੈ ॥
aise kahiyo sabh hee bhooa ko sukh aaj sabhai ham loott leeo hai |
She also gave gifts in charity to the Brahmins, everyone believed that, entire happiness of the universe has been attained
ਆਜ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਭਯੋ ਸਜਨੀ ਉਮਗਿਓ ਨ ਰਹੈ ਕਹਿਓ ਮੋਰ ਹੀਓ ਹੈ ॥
aaj hulaas bhayo sajanee umagio na rahai kahio mor heeo hai |
The mother said this, “O friend! my mind is extremely happy
ਆਜ ਕੇ ਦਿਵਸ ਹੂੰ ਪੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਅਰੀ ਜਬ ਮੋ ਸੁਤ ਬ︀ਯਾਹ ਕੀਓ ਹੈ ॥੨੦੧੪॥
aaj ke divas hoon pai bal jaau aree jab mo sut bayaah keeo hai |2014|
I am a sacrifice to this day, when my son has been married.”2004.

No one asks about their ancestry and social status; instead, they yearn for the dust of their feet. ||1||

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak has obtained understanding; singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises is his only support.

No one understands the Lord; who can understand His plans?
ਸਿਵ ਬਿਰੰਚਿ ਅਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਮੋਨਿ ਜਨ ਗਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾਹਿ ਗਤਾ ॥੧॥
siv biranch ar sagal mon jan geh na sakaeh gataa |1|
Shiva, Brahma and all the silent sages cannot understand the state of the Lord. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਕਥਾ ॥

God's sermon is profound and unfathomable.
ਸੁਨੀਐ ਅਵਰ ਅਵਰ ਬਿਧਿ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਬਕਨ ਕਥਨ ਰਹਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

He is heard to be one thing, but He is understood to be something else again; He is beyond description and explanation. ||1||Pause||

aape bhagataa aap suaamee aapan sang rataa |
He Himself is the devotee, and He Himself is the Lord and Master; He is imbued with Himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਹੈ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਜਤ੍ਰ ਕਤਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੧॥

Nanak's God is pervading and permeating everywhere; wherever he looks, He is there. ||2||2||11||

The humble servant of the Lord has no plans, politics or other clever tricks.
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਿਓ ਹੈ ਤਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਓ ॥੧॥
jeh jeh aausar aae banio hai tahaa tahaa har dhiaaeo |1|
Whenever the occasion arises, there, he meditates on the Lord. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੋ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਬਿਰਦਾਇਓ ॥

It is the very nature of God to love His devotees;

jap tap sanjam karam dharam har keeratan jan gaaeo |
The Lord's servant sings the Kirtan of His Praises as his worship, deep meditation, self-discipline and religious observances.
ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀ ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੨॥

Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master, and has received the blessings of fearlessness and peace. ||2||3||12||

Worship the Lord in adoration, day and night, O my dear - do not delay for a moment.
ਸੰਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਲਾਈਐ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਹਾਠੀਲਾ ॥੧॥
sant sevaa kar bhaavanee laaeeai tiaag maan haattheelaa |1|
Serve the Saints with loving faith, and set aside your pride and stubbornness. ||1||
ਮੋਹਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਾਨ ਰਾਗੀਲਾ ॥

The fascinating, playful Lord is my very breath of life and honor.
ਬਾਸਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਹੀਅਰੇ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਪੇਖਿ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jis simarat man hot anandaa utarai manahu jangeelaa |
Remembering Him, my mind is in bliss, and the rust of my mind is removed.
ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੀਲਾ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੩॥
milabe kee mahimaa baran na saakau naanak parai pareelaa |2|4|13|
The great honor of meeting the Lord cannot be described; O Nanak, it is infinite, beyond measure. ||2||4||13||

ਮੁਨਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਗਿ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਸਭ ਕੀਨੑੇ ਬਸਿ ਅਪਨਹੀ ॥
mun jogee saasatrag kahaavat sabh keenae bas apanahee |
They call themselves silent sages, Yogis and scholars of the Shaastras, but Maya has has them all under her control.
ਤੀਨਿ ਦੇਵ ਅਰੁ ਕੋੜਿ ਤੇਤੀਸਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਹੈਰਤਿ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਰਹੀ ॥੧॥
teen dev ar korr teteesaa tin kee hairat kachh na rahee |1|
The three gods, and the 330,000,000 demi-gods, were astonished. ||1||
ਬਲਵੰਤਿ ਬਿਆਪਿ ਰਹੀ ਸਭ ਮਹੀ ॥
balavant biaap rahee sabh mahee |
The power of Maya is pervading everywhere.
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਸਿ ਕੋਊ ਮਰਮਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਲਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Her secret is known only by Guru's Grace - no one else knows it. ||1||Pause||
ਜੀਤਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਜੀਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਥਾਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਲਪਟਹੀ ॥
jeet jeet jeete sabh thaanaa sagal bhavan lapattahee |
Conquering and conquering, she has conquered everywhere, and she clings to the whole world.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧ ਤੇ ਭਾਗੀ ਹੋਇ ਚੇਰੀ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੀ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੪॥
kahu naanak saadh te bhaagee hoe cheree charan gahee |2|5|14|
Says Nanak, she surrenders to the Holy Saint; becoming his servant, she falls at his feet. ||2||5||14||
