ਜਬ ਰਿਪੁ ਰਨ ਕੀਨੋ ਘਨੋ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਤਬ ਤੇਹੁ ॥
jab rip ran keeno ghano badtiyo krisan tab tehu |
ਜਾਦਵ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਯੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਕਰਿ ਹਨਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੧੧੬੭॥
jaadav prat har yau kahiyo dubidhaa kar han lehu |1167|
When the enemy waged the dreadful war, Krishna marched towards him and said to the Yadavas, “Kill him by fighting with him from both sides.”1167.

ਸਾਤਕਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਦਯੋ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਰਥ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਤਬੈ ਹਯ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੈ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
saatak kaatt dayo tin ko rath kaanrah tabai hay kaatt kai ddaariyo |
Satyak shattered his chariot and Krishna also began killing violently
ਸੂਤ ਕੋ ਸੀਸ ਕਟਿਯੋ ਮੁਸਲੀ ਬਰਮਾਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਅੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਤੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
soot ko sees kattiyo musalee baramaakrit ang pratang prahaariyo |
Balram chopped the head of his charioteer and struck blows on the limbs protected by armour
ਬਾਨ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਹਨ︀ਯੋ ਉਰ ਮੈ ਤਿਹ ਜੋਰ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਨੈਕੁ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
baan akraoor hanayo ur mai tih jor lagiyo neh naik sanbhaariyo |
The arrow of Akrur hit him so fiercely that he could not control himself
ਮੂਰਛ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਨਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਅਸਿ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਊਧਵ ਸੀਸ ਉਤਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੧੬੮॥
moorachh hvai ranabhoom giriyo as lai kar aoodhav sees utaariyo |1168|
He fell unconscious in the battlefield and Udhava chopped his head with his sword.1168.

ਅਣਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਬ ਮਾਰਯੋ ਖਟ ਸੁਭਟਨ ਮਿਲਿ ਠਉਰ ॥

ਜਰਾਸੰਧਿ ਕੀ ਸੈਨ ਤੇ ਚਲੇ ਚਤ੍ਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਅਉਰ ॥੧੧੬੯॥
jaraasandh kee sain te chale chatr nrip aaur |1169|
When the six warriors together killed Anag Singh, then four kings of the army of Jarasandh marched forward.1169.

SWAYYA
ਅਮਿਤੇਸ ਬਲੀ ਅਚਲੇਸ ਮਹਾ ਅਨਘੇਸਹਿ ਲੈ ਅਸੁਰੇਸ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥
amites balee achales mahaa anagheseh lai asures sidhaae |
The four kings Amitesh, Achilesh, Aghnesh and Asuresh Singh marched forward
ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਬਡੇ ਬਰਛੇ ਪਰਸੇ ਸੁ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਆਏ ॥
baan kamaan kripaan badde barachhe parase su gadaa geh aae |
They were holding bows, arrows, swords, spears, maces and axes,
ਰੋਸ ਕੈ ਬੀਰ ਨਿਸੰਕ ਭਿਰੇ ਭਟ ਕੇ ਨ ਟਿਕੇ ਭਟ ਓਘ ਪਰਾਏ ॥
ros kai beer nisank bhire bhatt ke na ttike bhatt ogh paraae |
ਆਇ ਘਿਰਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਭੂਖਨ ਕਉ ਮਧੁ ਦੂਖਨ ਕਉ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਨ ਲਗਾਏ ॥੧੧੭੦॥
aae ghiriyo brijabhookhan kau madh dookhan kau bahu baan lagaae |1170|
They fought furiously and fearlessly, considering everyone alien to them and surrounding Krishna, they began to shower arrows upon him.1170.
ਘਾਇਨ ਕਉ ਸਹਿ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਰਾਜ ਸਰਾਸਨ ਲੈ ਸਰ ਲੇਤ ਭਯੋ ॥
ghaaein kau seh kai brij raaj saraasan lai sar let bhayo |
ਅਸੁਰੇਸਹਿ ਕੋ ਸਿਰ ਕਾਟਿ ਦਯੋ ਅਮਿਤੇਸ ਕੀ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਦਾਰਿ ਛਯੋ ॥
asureseh ko sir kaatt dayo amites kee deh bidaar chhayo |
Enduring the anguish of his wounds, Krishna held up his bow and arrows and cutting the head of Asuresh, he slashed the body of Amitesh
ਅਨਘੇਸ ਕੋ ਕਾਟਿ ਦੁਖੰਡ ਕੀਯੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਥ ਤੇ ਗਿਰਿ ਭੂਮਿ ਪਯੋ ॥
anaghes ko kaatt dukhandd keeyo mrit hvai rath te gir bhoom payo |
Aghnesh was cut into two parts, he fell upon the ground from his chariot,
ਅਚਲੇਸ ਜੂ ਬਾਨਨ ਕੋ ਸਹਿ ਕੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਠਾਢਿ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਭਾਜਿ ਗਯੋ ॥੧੧੭੧॥
achales joo baanan ko seh kai fir tthaadt rahiyo neh bhaaj gayo |1171|
But Achlesh stood there enduring the shower of arrows and did not run away.1171.
ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਬੋਲਤ ਯੌ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਤੈ ਬੀਰ ਖਪਾਏ ॥
kop kai bolat yau har ko ran singh te aad tai beer khapaae |
He spoke to Krishna in anger, “You have killed many of our brave fighters
ਤੋ ਤੇ ਕਹੀ ਗਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਨ︀ਯੋ ਅਣਗੇਸ ਜੂ ਤੈ ਛਲ ਸਾਥ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥
to te kahee gaj singh hanayo anages joo tai chhal saath giraae |
You killed Gaj Singh and also killed Anag Singh by deception
ਜਾਨਤ ਹੌ ਅਮਿਤੇਸ ਬਲੀ ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਕੈ ਬੀਰ ਕਹਾਏ ॥
jaanat hau amites balee dhan singh sanghaar kai beer kahaae |
ਸੋ ਤਬ ਲਉ ਗਜ ਗਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਜਬ ਲਉ ਬਨ ਮੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਰਾਜ ਨ ਆਏ ॥੧੧੭੨॥
so tab lau gaj gaajat hai jab lau ban mai mrigaraaj na aae |1172|
You know that Amitesh Singh was also a mighty warrior and killing Dhan Singh, you are calling yourself a hero, but the elephant roars only in the forest, when the lion does not turn up.”1172.
ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਭਰੇ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
yau keh kai bateeyaa har so abhimaan bhare dhan baan sanbhaariyo |
ਕਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਸਰਾਸਨ ਤਾਨਿ ਮਹਾ ਸਰ ਤੀਛਨ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
kaan pramaan saraasan taan mahaa sar teechhan sayaam ko maariyo |
Saying this, he proudly held up his bow and arrows and pulling his bow upto his ear, he discharged his sharp arrow on Krishna
ਲਾਗ ਗਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਉਰ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਨਹਿ ਆਵਤ ਨੈਨ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
laag gayo har ke ur mai har joo neh aavat nain nihaariyo |
ਮੂਰਛਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਥ ਮਾਝਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਰਨ ਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੂਤ ਪਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੧੭੩॥
moorachhat hvai rath maajh gire taj kai ran lai prabh soot padhaariyo |1173|
Krishna did not see the coming arrow, therefore it hit him in the chest, therefore he became unconscious and fell down in his chariot and his charioteer drove off his chariot.1173.
ਏਕ ਮਹੂਰਤ ਬੀਤਿ ਗਯੋ ਤਬ ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਪੈ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
ek mahoorat beet gayo tab sayandan pai jadubeer sanbhaariyo |
ਤਉ ਅਚਲੇਸ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਭਰੇ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਸ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
tau achales gumaan bhare at hee has kai ih bhaat pukaariyo |
After the passing away of one mahurat (a short span of time), Krishna regained his consciousness in the chariot, now Achlesh laughing proudly said,
ਜਾਤ ਕਹਾ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਭਜਿ ਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਦਾ ਕਟੁ ਬੋਲ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jaat kahaa ham te bhaj kai kar lai ke gadaa katt bol uchaariyo |
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਜਾਤ ਹੁਤੋ ਨਰ ਲੈ ਲਕੁਟੀ ਕਰਿ ਮੈ ਲਲਕਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੧੭੪॥
maanahu kehar jaat huto nar lai lakuttee kar mai lalakaariyo |1174|
“Where will you run away from me?” Taking his mace in his hand, he uttered these ironical words like some man holding his staff and challenging a lion going away.1174.
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਆ ਅਰਿ ਕੀ ਰਥੁ ਹਾਕਿ ਫਿਰਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਭਯੋ ॥
yau sun kai bateea ar kee rath haak firiyo har kop bhayo |
Hearing these words of the enemy, Krishna getting enraged, moved forward his chariot
ਪਟ ਪੀਤ ਮਹਾ ਫਹਰਿਓ ਧੁਜ ਜਿਉ ਘਨ ਮੈ ਚਪਲਾ ਸਮ ਰੂਪ ਲਯੋ ॥
patt peet mahaa fahario dhuj jiau ghan mai chapalaa sam roop layo |
His yellow garment began to wave like the lightning among the clouds
ਬਰਖਿਯੋ ਸਰ ਬੂੰਦਨ ਜਿਉ ਘਨਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਤਬੈ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੋ ਦਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਯੋ॥
barakhiyo sar boondan jiau ghan sayaam tabai rip ko dal maar dayo|
ਰਿਸ ਕੈ ਅਚਲੇਸ ਸੁ ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਗਹੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਮੁਹੇ ਆਇ ਖਯੋ ॥੧੧੭੫॥
ris kai achales su baan kamaan gahe har saamuhe aae khayo |1175|
With the shower of his arrows, he killed the army of the enemy and now in great fury, taking his bow and arrows in his hands, Achlesh came and stood against Krishna.1175.

Aasaa, First Mehl:
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
guramukh giaan dhiaan man maan |
The Gurmukh obtains spiritual wisdom, meditation and satisfaction of the mind.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਹਲੀ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਛਾਨੁ ॥
guramukh mahalee mehal pachhaan |
The Gurmukh realizes the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਨੀਸਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
guramukh surat sabad neesaan |1|
The Gurmukh is attuned to the Word of the Shabad, as his Insignia. ||1||
ਐਸੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
aise prem bhagat veechaaree |
Such is the loving devotional worship of the Lord's contemplation.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guramukh saachaa naam muraaree |1| rahaau |
The Gurmukh realizes the True Name, the Destroyer of ego. ||1||Pause||
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਥਾਨਿ ਸੁਥਾਨੁ ॥
ahinis niramal thaan suthaan |
Day and night, he remains immaculately pure, and abides in the sublime place.
ਤੀਨ ਭਵਨ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
teen bhavan nihakeval giaan |
He gains the wisdom of the three worlds.
ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
saache gur te hukam pachhaan |2|
Through the True Guru, the Command of the Lord's Will is realized. ||2||
ਸਾਚਾ ਹਰਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੋਗੁ ॥
saachaa harakh naahee tis sog |
He enjoys true pleasure, and suffers no pain.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਭੋਗੁ ॥
amrit giaan mahaa ras bhog |
He enjoys the ambrosial wisdom, and the highest sublime essence.
ਪੰਚ ਸਮਾਈ ਸੁਖੀ ਸਭੁ ਲੋਗੁ ॥੩॥
panch samaaee sukhee sabh log |3|
He overcomes the five evil passions, and becomes the happiest of all men. ||3||
ਸਗਲੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
sagalee jot teraa sabh koee |
Your Divine Light is contained in all; everyone belongs to You.
ਆਪੇ ਜੋੜਿ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਸੋਈ ॥
aape jorr vichhorre soee |
You Yourself join and separate again.
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥
aape karataa kare su hoee |4|
Whatever the Creator does, comes to pass. ||4||
ਢਾਹਿ ਉਸਾਰੇ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
dtaeh usaare hukam samaavai |
He demolishes, and He builds; by His Order, he merges us into Himself.
ਹੁਕਮੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
hukamo varatai jo tis bhaavai |
Whatever is pleasing to His Will, happens.
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੫॥
gur bin pooraa koe na paavai |5|
Without the Guru, no one obtains the Perfect Lord. ||5||
ਬਾਲਕ ਬਿਰਧਿ ਨ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਪਰਾਨਿ ॥
baalak biradh na surat paraan |
In childhood and old age, he does not understand.
ਭਰਿ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਬੂਡੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਿ ॥
bhar joban booddai abhimaan |
In the prime of youth, he is drowned in his pride.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕਿਆ ਲਹਸਿ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥੬॥
bin naavai kiaa lehas nidaan |6|
Without the Name, what can the fool obtain? ||6||
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਅਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
jis kaa an dhan sehaj na jaanaa |
He does not know the One who blesses him with nourishment and wealth.
ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਨਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨਾ ॥
bharam bhulaanaa fir pachhutaanaa |
Deluded by doubt, he later regrets and repents.
ਗਲਿ ਫਾਹੀ ਬਉਰਾ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ॥੭॥
gal faahee bauraa bauraanaa |7|
The noose of death is around the neck of that crazy madman. ||7||
ਬੂਡਤ ਜਗੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਉ ਡਰਿ ਭਾਗੇ ॥
booddat jag dekhiaa tau ddar bhaage |
I saw the world drowning, and I ran away in fear.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੇ ॥
satigur raakhe se vaddabhaage |
How very fortunate are those who have been saved by the True Guru.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੮॥੬॥
naanak gur kee charanee laage |8|6|
O Nanak, they are attached to the feet of the Guru. ||8||6||

Aasaa, First Mehl:
ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੀਤੇ ਚੀਤਿ ਅਨੀਤੇ ॥
gaaveh geete cheet aneete |
They sing religious songs, but their consciousness is wicked.
ਰਾਗ ਸੁਣਾਇ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ਬੀਤੇ ॥
raag sunaae kahaaveh beete |
They sing the songs, and call themselves divine,
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਝੂਠੁ ਅਨੀਤੇ ॥੧॥
bin naavai man jhootth aneete |1|
but without the Name, their minds are false and wicked. ||1||
ਕਹਾ ਚਲਹੁ ਮਨ ਰਹਹੁ ਘਰੇ ॥
kahaa chalahu man rahahu ghare |
Where are you going? O mind, remain in your own home.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਖੋਜਤ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guramukh raam naam tripataase khojat paavahu sehaj hare |1| rahaau |
The Gurmukhs are satisfied with the Lord's Name; searching, they easily find the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਮਨਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥
kaam krodh man mohu sareeraa |
Sexual desire, anger and emotional attachment fill the mind and body;
ਲਬੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਸੁ ਪੀਰਾ ॥
lab lobh ahankaar su peeraa |
greed and egotism lead only to pain.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰਾ ॥੨॥
raam naam bin kiau man dheeraa |2|
How can the mind be comforted without the Lord's Name? ||2||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥
antar naavan saach pachhaanai |
One who cleanses himself within, knows the True Lord.
ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
antar kee gat guramukh jaanai |
The Gurmukh knows the condition of his innermost being.
ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥੩॥
saach sabad bin mehal na pachhaanai |3|
Without the True Word of the Shabad, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence is not realized. ||3||
ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਕਾਰੁ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
nirankaar meh aakaar samaavai |
One who merges his form into the Formless Lord,
ਅਕਲ ਕਲਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਟਿਕਾਵੈ ॥
akal kalaa sach saach ttikaavai |
abides in the True Lord, the Powerful, beyond power.
ਸੋ ਨਰੁ ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ॥੪॥
so nar garabh jon nahee aavai |4|
Such a person does not enter into the womb of reincarnation again. ||4||
ਜਹਾਂ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਹ ਜਾਉ ॥
jahaan naam milai teh jaau |
Go there, where you may obtain the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਉ ॥
gur parasaadee karam kamaau |
By Guru's Grace, perform good deeds.
ਨਾਮੇ ਰਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੫॥
naame raataa har gun gaau |5|
Imbued with the Naam, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||5||
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥
gur sevaa te aap pachhaataa |
Serving the Guru, I have come to understand myself.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
amrit naam vasiaa sukhadaataa |
The Ambrosial Naam, the Giver of Peace, abides within my mind.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੬॥
anadin baanee naame raataa |6|
Night and day, I am imbued with the Word of the Guru's Bani, and the Naam. ||6||
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਾਏ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
meraa prabh laae taa ko laagai |
When my God attaches someone to Him, only then is that person attached.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੇ ਸਬਦੇ ਜਾਗੈ ॥
haumai maare sabade jaagai |
Conquering ego, he remains awake to the Word of the Shabad.
ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ॥੭॥
aithai othai sadaa sukh aagai |7|
Here and hereafter, he enjoys lasting peace. ||7||
ਮਨੁ ਚੰਚਲੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
man chanchal bidh naahee jaanai |
The fickle mind does not know the way.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਮੈਲਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥
manamukh mailaa sabad na pachhaanai |
The filthy self-willed manmukh does not understand the Shabad.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥੮॥
guramukh niramal naam vakhaanai |8|
The Gurmukh chants the Immaculate Naam. ||8||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਗੈ ਕਰੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
har jeeo aagai karee aradaas |
I offer my prayer to the Lord,
ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
saadhoo jan sangat hoe nivaas |
that I might dwell in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥੯॥
kilavikh dukh kaatte har naam pragaas |9|
There, sins and sufferings are erased, and one is illumined with the Lord's Name. ||9||
ਕਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਆਚਾਰੁ ਪਰਾਤਾ ॥
kar beechaar aachaar paraataa |
In reflective meditation, I have come to love good conduct.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
satigur bachanee eko jaataa |
Through the Word of the True Guru, I recognize the One Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੧੦॥੭॥
naanak raam naam man raataa |10|7|
O Nanak, my mind is imbued with the Lord's Name. ||10||7||
