ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਚਲੀ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਕੁੰਜ ਗਲੀ ਹੈ ॥
eih bhaat chalee keh kai su triyaa kab sayaam kahai soaoo kunj galee hai |
Saying thus, Radha is leaving the alcove
ਚੰਦਮੁਖੀ ਤਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੇ ਸਭ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਤੇ ਜੋਊ ਖੂਬ ਭਲੀ ਹੈ ॥
chandamukhee tan kanchan se sabh gvaarin te joaoo khoob bhalee hai |
Radha, the most beautiful amongst the gopis has the face like moon and the body like gold
ਮਾਨ ਕੀਯੋ ਨਿਖਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਸੀ ਮਨੋ ਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਅਲੀ ਹੈ ॥
maan keeyo nikharee tin te mriganee see mano su binaa hee alee hai |
Having been proud, she now was separated from her friends like a doe from the herd of does
ਯੌ ਉਪਜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਪਤਿ ਸੋ ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਰੂਠਿ ਚਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੬੭੭॥
yau upajee upamaa man mai pat so rat maanahu rootth chalee hai |677|
On seeing her, it seemed that Rati, being angry with the god of love, was leaving him.677.
ਇਤ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਖੇਲਤ ਰਾਸ ਬਿਖੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
eit te har khelat raas bikhai brikhabhaan sutaa kar preet nihaaree |
ਪੇਖ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਨ ਪਿਖੀ ਤਿਨ ਮੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜੁ ਹੁਤੀ ਸੋਊ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
pekh rahiyo na pikhee tin mai kab sayaam kahai ju hutee soaoo piaaree |
On this side, Krishna, absorbed in the amorous play, looked towards Radha, but she was nowhere to be seen
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਸਮ ਜਾ ਮੁਖ ਹੈ ਤਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
chandraprabhaa sam jaa mukh hai tan kanchan so at sundar naaree |
ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਨੀਦ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਕੋਊ ਉਨਿ ਮਾਨ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੬੭੮॥
kai grihi maan kai need gee ki koaoo un maan kee baat bichaaree |678|
Radha, whose face is like the moon and whose body is like gold and who is extremely charming has either gone to her home under the impact of sleep or because of some pride and thinking about it, she has left.678.

ਬਿਜਛਟਾ ਜਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਸਖੀ ਕੋ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਸਖੀ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥
bijachhattaa jih naam sakhee ko hai soaoo sakhee jaduraae bulaaee |
Krishna called the young damsel named Vidhuchhata
ਅੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਜਿਹ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੀ ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਚੰਦ ਛਟਾ ਛਬਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
ang prabhaa jih kanchan see jih te mukh chand chhattaa chhab paaee |
Her body glistened like gold and the glory of her face was like moon
ਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਸੁਨ ਤੂ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
taa sang aise kahiyo har joo sun too brikhabhaan sutaa peh jaaee |
ਪਾਇਨ ਪੈ ਬਿਨਤੀਅਨ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੇਤ ਕੇ ਭਾਵ ਸੋ ਲਿਆਉ ਮਨਾਈ ॥੬੭੯॥
paaein pai binateean kai at het ke bhaav so liaau manaaee |679|
Krishna called her and said, “You go to Radha and falling at her feet request her and persuade her to come.”679.
ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਕੀ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਆ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਜੋਊ ਬਾਲ ਭਲੀ ਹੈ ॥
jaduraae kee sun kai bateea brikhabhaan sutaa joaoo baal bhalee hai |
ਰੂਪ ਮਨੋ ਸਮ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੈਨ ਕੇ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਕੰਜ ਕਲੀ ਹੈ ॥
roop mano sam sundar main ke maanahu sundar kanj kalee hai |
Listening to the words of Krishna, the king of Yadavas, the young damsel obeying him, started towards Radha, who is charming like the god of love and lotus,
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਮਨਾਇਬੇ ਕਾਜ ਚਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਆਇਸ ਪਾਇ ਅਲੀ ਹੈ ॥
taa ke manaaeibe kaaj chalee har ko fun aaeis paae alee hai |
ਯੋ ਉਪਜੀ ਜੀਯ ਮੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਚਕਈ ਮਨੋ ਛੂਟਿ ਚਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੬੮੦॥
yo upajee jeey mai upamaa kar te chakee mano chhoott chalee hai |680|
In order to persuade her she moved like a disc slipping from the hand.680.
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Aasaa, Third Mehl:
ਸਬਦਿ ਮੁਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
sabad muaa vichahu aap gavaae |
One who dies in the Word of the Shabad, eradicates his self-conceit from within.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥
satigur seve til na tamaae |
He serves the True Guru, with no iota of self-interest.
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
nirbhau daataa sadaa man hoe |
The Fearless Lord, the Great Giver, ever abides in his mind.
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪਾਏ ਭਾਗਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥
sachee baanee paae bhaag koe |1|
The True Bani of the Word is obtained only by good destiny. ||1||
ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਅਉਗੁਣ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
gun sangrahu vichahu aaugun jaeh |
So gather merits, and let your demerits depart from within you.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
poore gur kai sabad samaeh |1| rahaau |
You shall be absorbed into the Shabad, the Word of the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਣਾ ਕਾ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
gunaa kaa gaahak hovai so gun jaanai |
One who purchases merits, knows the value of these merits.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
amrit sabad naam vakhaanai |
He chants the Ambrosial Nectar of the Word, and the Name of the Lord.
ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੂਚਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
saachee baanee soochaa hoe |
Through the True Bani of the Word, he becomes pure.
ਗੁਣ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
gun te naam paraapat hoe |2|
Through merit, the Name is obtained. ||2||
ਗੁਣ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਪਾਏ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
gun amolak paae na jaeh |
The invaluable merits cannot be acquired.
ਮਨਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
man niramal saachai sabad samaeh |
The pure mind is absorbed into the True Word of the Shabad.
ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਨੑ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
se vaddabhaagee jina naam dhiaaeaa |
How very fortunate are those who meditate on the Naam,
ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣਦਾਤਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
sadaa gunadaataa man vasaaeaa |3|
and ever enshrine in their minds the Lord, the Giver of merit. ||3||
ਜੋ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੈ ਤਿਨੑ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
jo gun sangrahai tina balihaarai jaau |
I am a sacrifice to those who gather merits.
ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
dar saachai saache gun gaau |
At the Gate of Truth, I sing the Glorious Praises of the True One.
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
aape devai sehaj subhaae |
He Himself spontaneously bestows His gifts.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੧॥
naanak keemat kehan na jaae |4|2|41|
O Nanak, the value of the Lord cannot be described. ||4||2||41||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Aasaa, Third Mehl:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
satigur vich vaddee vaddiaaee |
Great is the greatness of the True Guru;
ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
chiree vichhune mel milaaee |
He merges in His Merger, those who have been separated for so long.
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
aape mele mel milaae |
He Himself merges the merged in His Merger.
ਆਪਣੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥
aapanee keemat aape paae |1|
He Himself knows His own worth. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਿਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
har kee keemat kin bidh hoe |
How can anyone appraise the Lord's worth?
ਹਰਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har aparanpar agam agochar gur kai sabad milai jan koe |1| rahaau |
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one may merge with the Infinite, Unapproachable and Incomprehensible Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
guramukh keemat jaanai koe |
Few are the Gurmukhs who know His worth.
ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
virale karam paraapat hoe |
How rare are those who receive the Lord's Grace.
ਊਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਊਚਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
aoochee baanee aoochaa hoe |
Through the Sublime Bani of His Word, one becomes sublime.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
guramukh sabad vakhaanai koe |2|
The Gurmukh chants the Word of the Shabad. ||2||
ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਸਰੀਰਿ ॥
vin naavai dukh darad sareer |
Without the Name, the body suffers in pain;
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਤਾ ਉਤਰੈ ਪੀਰ ॥
satigur bhette taa utarai peer |
but when one meets the True Guru, then that pain is removed.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
bin gur bhette dukh kamaae |
Without meeting the Guru, the mortal earns only pain.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
manamukh bahutee milai sajaae |3|
The self-willed manmukh receives only more punishment. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਅਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
har kaa naam meetthaa at ras hoe |
The essence of the Lord's Name is so very sweet;
ਪੀਵਤ ਰਹੈ ਪੀਆਏ ਸੋਇ ॥
peevat rahai peeae soe |
he alone drinks it, whom the Lord causes to drink it.
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
gur kirapaa te har ras paae |
By Guru's Grace, the essence of the Lord is obtained.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੩॥੪੨॥
naanak naam rate gat paae |4|3|42|
O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, salvation is attained. ||4||3||42||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Aasaa, Third Mehl:
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ॥
meraa prabh saachaa gahir ganbheer |
My God is True, deep and profound.
ਸੇਵਤ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਰੀਰ ॥
sevat hee sukh saant sareer |
Serving Him, the body acquires peace and tranquility.
ਸਬਦਿ ਤਰੇ ਜਨ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
sabad tare jan sehaj subhaae |
Through the Word of the Shabad, His humble servants easily swim across.
ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਮ ਸਦ ਲਾਗਹ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥
tin kai ham sad laagah paae |1|
I fall at their feet forever and ever. ||1||
ਜੋ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
jo man raate har rang laae |
Those being whose minds are imbued and drenched with the Lord's Love
ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tin kaa janam maran dukh laathaa te har daragah mile subhaae |1| rahaau |
- their pains of birth and death are taken away. They are automatically ushered into the Court of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਬਦੁ ਚਾਖੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਦੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
sabad chaakhai saachaa saad paae |
One who has tasted the Shabad, obtains the true flavor.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
har kaa naam man vasaae |
The Name of the Lord abides within his mind.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
har prabh sadaa rahiaa bharapoor |
The Lord God is Eternal and All-pervading.
ਆਪੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
aape nerrai aape door |2|
He Himself is near, and He Himself is far away. ||2||
ਆਖਣਿ ਆਖੈ ਬਕੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
aakhan aakhai bakai sabh koe |
Everyone talks and speaks through speech;
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸੋਇ ॥
aape bakhas milaae soe |
the Lord Himself forgives, and unites us with Himself.
ਕਹਣੈ ਕਥਨਿ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
kahanai kathan na paaeaa jaae |
By merely speaking and talking, He is not obtained.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੩॥
gur parasaad vasai man aae |3|
By Guru's Grace, He comes to abide in the mind. ||3||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
guramukh vichahu aap gavaae |
The Gurmukh eradicates his self-conceit from within.
ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇ ॥
har rang raate mohu chukaae |
He is imbued with the Lord's Love, having discarded worldly attachment.
ਅਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਗੁਰਸਬਦ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥
at niramal gurasabad veechaar |
He contemplates the utterly Immaculate Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰ ॥੪॥੪॥੪੩॥
naanak naam savaaranahaar |4|4|43|
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is our Salvation. ||4||4||43||
