ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਕਹਹੁ ਮਤ ਝੂਠੇ ਝੂਠਾ ਜੋ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ॥
bed kateb kahahu mat jhootthe jhootthaa jo na bichaarai |
Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false. Those who do not contemplate them are false.
ਜਉ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਖੁਦਾਇ ਕਹਤ ਹਉ ਤਉ ਕਿਉ ਮੁਰਗੀ ਮਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
jau sabh meh ek khudaae kehat hau tau kiau muragee maarai |1|
You say that the One Lord is in all, so why do you kill chickens? ||1||
ਮੁਲਾਂ ਕਹਹੁ ਨਿਆਉ ਖੁਦਾਈ ॥
mulaan kahahu niaau khudaaee |
O Mullah, tell me: is this God's Justice?
ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tere man kaa bharam na jaaee |1| rahaau |
The doubts of your mind have not been dispelled. ||1||Pause||
ਪਕਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਨਿਆ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਮਾਟੀ ਕਉ ਬਿਸਮਿਲਿ ਕੀਆ ॥
pakar jeeo aaniaa deh binaasee maattee kau bisamil keea |
You seize a living creature, and then bring it home and kill its body; you have killed only the clay.
ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਨਾਹਤ ਲਾਗੀ ਕਹੁ ਹਲਾਲੁ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਆ ॥੨॥
jot saroop anaahat laagee kahu halaal kiaa keea |2|
The light of the soul passes into another form. So tell me, what have you killed? ||2||
ਕਿਆ ਉਜੂ ਪਾਕੁ ਕੀਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਧੋਇਆ ਕਿਆ ਮਸੀਤਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
kiaa ujoo paak keea muhu dhoeaa kiaa maseet sir laaeaa |
And what good are your purifications? Why do you bother to wash your face? And why do you bother to bow your head in the mosque?
ਜਉ ਦਿਲ ਮਹਿ ਕਪਟੁ ਨਿਵਾਜ ਗੁਜਾਰਹੁ ਕਿਆ ਹਜ ਕਾਬੈ ਜਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
jau dil meh kapatt nivaaj gujaarahu kiaa haj kaabai jaaeaa |3|
Your heart is full of hypocrisy; what good are your prayers or your pilgrimage to Mecca? ||3||
ਤੂੰ ਨਾਪਾਕੁ ਪਾਕੁ ਨਹੀ ਸੂਝਿਆ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਮਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
toon naapaak paak nahee soojhiaa tis kaa maram na jaaniaa |
You are impure; you do not understand the Pure Lord. You do not know His Mystery.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਿਸਤਿ ਤੇ ਚੂਕਾ ਦੋਜਕ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੪॥
keh kabeer bhisat te chookaa dojak siau man maaniaa |4|4|
Says Kabeer, you have missed out on paradise; your mind is set on hell. ||4||4||

ਸੁੰਨ ਸੰਧਿਆ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੇਵ ਦੇਵਾਕਰ ਅਧਪਤਿ ਆਦਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
sun sandhiaa teree dev devaakar adhapat aad samaaee |
Hear my prayer, Lord; You are the Divine Light of the Divine, the Primal, All-pervading Master.
ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥੧॥
sidh samaadh ant nahee paaeaa laag rahe saranaaee |1|
The Siddhas in Samaadhi have not found Your limits. They hold tight to the Protection of Your Sanctuary. ||1||
ਲੇਹੁ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੋ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
lehu aaratee ho purakh niranjan satigur poojahu bhaaee |
Worship and adoration of the Pure, Primal Lord comes by worshipping the True Guru, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਠਾਢਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨਿਗਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਲਖਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tthaadtaa brahamaa nigam beechaarai alakh na lakhiaa jaaee |1| rahaau |
Standing at His Door, Brahma studies the Vedas, but he cannot see the Unseen Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਤਤੁ ਤੇਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੀਆ ਬਾਤੀ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਦੇਹ ਉਜੵਾਰਾ ॥
tat tel naam keea baatee deepak deh ujayaaraa |
With the oil of knowledge about the essence of reality, and the wick of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, this lamp illluminates my body.
ਜੋਤਿ ਲਾਇ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਜਗਾਇਆ ਬੂਝੈ ਬੂਝਨਹਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
jot laae jagadees jagaaeaa boojhai boojhanahaaraa |2|
I have applied the Light of the Lord of the Universe, and lit this lamp. God the Knower knows. ||2||
ਪੰਚੇ ਸਬਦ ਅਨਾਹਦ ਬਾਜੇ ਸੰਗੇ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਨੀ ॥
panche sabad anaahad baaje sange saaringapaanee |
The Unstruck Melody of the Panch Shabad, the Five Primal Sounds, vibrates and resounds. I dwell with the Lord of the World.
ਕਬੀਰ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੀ ॥੩॥੫॥
kabeer daas teree aaratee keenee nirankaar nirabaanee |3|5|
Kabeer, Your slave, performs this Aartee, this lamp-lit worship service for You, O Formless Lord of Nirvaanaa. ||3||5||

ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਮਨੁ ਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੈ ਬੂਝਲ ਆਗੈ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
man kee birathaa man hee jaanai kai boojhal aagai kaheeai |
The mind alone knows the state of the mind; I tell it to the Knowing Lord.
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵਾਂਈ ਮੈ ਡਰੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਚਹੀਐ ॥੧॥
antarajaamee raam ravaanee mai ddar kaise chaheeai |1|
I chant the Name of the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts - why should I be afraid? ||1||
ਬੇਧੀਅਲੇ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋੁਸਾਈ ॥

My mind is pierced through by the love of the Lord of the World.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਰਬੇ ਠਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

My God is All-pervading everywhere. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਨੈ ਹਾਟੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਪਾਟੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਹੈ ਪਾਸਾਰੀ ॥
maanai haatt maanai paatt maanai hai paasaaree |
The mind is the shop, the mind is the town, and the mind is the shopkeeper.
ਮਾਨੈ ਬਾਸੈ ਨਾਨਾ ਭੇਦੀ ਭਰਮਤੁ ਹੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
maanai baasai naanaa bhedee bharamat hai sansaaree |2|
The mind abides in various forms, wandering all across the world. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਏਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
gur kai sabad ehu man raataa dubidhaa sehaj samaanee |
This mind is imbued with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and duality is easily overcome.
ਸਭੋ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸਮਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
sabho hukam hukam hai aape nirbhau samat beechaaree |3|
He Himself is the Commander; all are under His Command. The Fearless Lord looks on all alike. ||3||
ਜੋ ਜਨ ਜਾਨਿ ਭਜਹਿ ਪੁਰਖੋਤਮੁ ਤਾ ਚੀ ਅਬਿਗਤੁ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
jo jan jaan bhajeh purakhotam taa chee abigat baanee |
That humble being who knows, and meditates on the Supreme Primal Being - his word becomes eternal.
ਨਾਮਾ ਕਹੈ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਅਲਖ ਬਿਡਾਣੀ ॥੪॥੧॥
naamaa kahai jagajeevan paaeaa hiradai alakh biddaanee |4|1|
Says Naam Dayv, I have found the Invisible, Wondrous Lord, the Life of the World, within my heart. ||4||1||

ਅਲਿਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਤਿਹ ਸੁਤਾ ਬਖਨਿਯਤ ॥
alikrit de tih sutaa bakhaniyat |
ਅਮਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਵਾ ਕੇ ਪਹਿਚਨਿਯਤ ॥
amit roop vaa ke pahichaniyat |
ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਇਕ ਸੌਦਾਗਰ ਆਯੋ ॥
tih tthaa ik sauadaagar aayo |
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੂਜੋ ਨ ਬਨਾਯੋ ॥੨॥
jih sam bidh doojo na banaayo |2|
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਲਖਿ ਅੰਗਾ ॥
raaj kuar taa ke lakh angaa |
ਮਨ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਬਚ ਰੀਝੀ ਸਰਬੰਗਾ ॥
man kram bach reejhee sarabangaa |
ਪਠੈ ਸਹਚਰੀ ਲੀਅਸਿ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
patthai sahacharee leeas bulaae |
ਕਹਤ ਭਈ ਬਤਿਯਾ ਮੁਸਕਾਇ ॥੩॥
kehat bhee batiyaa musakaae |3|
ਅਧਿਕ ਭੋਗ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਥ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
adhik bhog tih saath machaayo |
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤਿ ਰਸ ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥
bhaat bhaat ras kel kamaayo |
ਚੁੰਬਨ ਔਰ ਅਲਿੰਗਨ ਲੀਨੋ ॥
chunban aauar alingan leeno |
ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੪॥
bhaat anik triy ko sukh deeno |4|
ਜਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਚਿਤ ਤਵਨੈ ਹਰ ਲਿਯੋ ॥
jab triy chit tavanai har liyo |
ਤਬ ਅਸ ਚਰਿਤ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
tab as charit chanchalaa kiyo |
ਤਾਤ ਮਾਤ ਦੋਇ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਏ ॥
taat maat doe bol patthaae |
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੌ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਾਏ ॥੫॥
eih bidh tin sau bachan sunaae |5|
ਮੈ ਅਬ ਲਗਿ ਨਹਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਅਨ੍ਰਹਾਈ ॥
mai ab lag neh teerath anrahaaee |
ਅਬ ਤੀਰਥ ਕਰਿ ਹੌ ਤਹ ਜਾਈ ॥
ab teerath kar hau teh jaaee |
ਜੌ ਆਇਸ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਪਾਊ ॥
jau aaeis tum te mai paaoo |
ਤੀਰਥ ਨ੍ਰਹਾਇ ਸਕਲ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਊ ॥੬॥
teerath nrahaae sakal fir aaoo |6|
ਪਤਿ ਕੁਰੂਪ ਹਮ ਕਹ ਤੁਮ ਦਿਯੋ ॥
pat kuroop ham keh tum diyo |
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਉਪਾਇ ਇਮਿ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
taa te mai upaae im kiyo |
ਜੌ ਮੁਰ ਪਤਿ ਸਭ ਤੀਰਥ ਅਨ੍ਰਹੈ ਹੈ ॥
jau mur pat sabh teerath anrahai hai |
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਧਿਕ ਕਾਇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
sundar adhik kaae hvai jai hai |7|
ਲੈ ਆਗ︀ਯਾ ਪਤਿ ਸਹਿਤ ਸਿਧਾਈ ॥
lai aagayaa pat sahit sidhaaee |
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤ ਤੀਰਥਨ ਅਨ੍ਰਹਾਈ ॥
bhaat bhaat teerathan anrahaaee |
ਘਾਤ ਪਾਇ ਕਰਿ ਨਾਥ ਸੰਘਾਰਾ ॥
ghaat paae kar naath sanghaaraa |
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਠੌਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਬੈਠਾਰਾ ॥੮॥
taa kee tthauar mitr baitthaaraa |8|
ਅਪਨੇ ਧਾਮ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਈ ॥
apane dhaam bahur fir aaee |
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਹਿ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਜਤਾਈ ॥
maat piteh ih bhaat jataaee |
ਮੁਰ ਪਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਤੀਰਥਨ ਅਨ੍ਰਹਯੋ ॥
mur pat at teerathan anrahayo |
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਪੁ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਯੋ ॥੯॥
taa te bap sundar hvai gayo |9|
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਹਮ ਤੀਰਥ ਅਨ੍ਰਹਾਏ ॥
bhaat bhaat ham teerath anrahaae |
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿਧਵ ਤਨ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਜਿਵਾਏ ॥
anik bidhav tan bipr jivaae |
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਦੈਵ ਆਪੁ ਬਰ ਦਿਯੋ ॥
taa te daiv aap bar diyo |
ਮਮ ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਪੁ ਕਿਯੋ ॥੧੦॥
mam pat ko sundar bap kiyo |10|
ਯਹ ਕਾਹੂ ਨਰ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
yeh kaahoo nar baat na paaee |
ਕਹਾ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਆਈ ॥
kahaa karam kar kai triy aaee |
ਤੀਰਥ ਮਹਾਤਮ ਸਭਹੂੰ ਜਾਨ︀ਯੋ ॥
teerath mahaatam sabhahoon jaanayo |
ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਨ ਕਿਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਨ︀ਯੋ ॥੧੧॥
bhed abhed na kinoo pachhaanayo |11|
