ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ॥

Chant, O my mind, the Name of the Lord, the Lord of the Universe.
ਘੂਮਨ ਘੇਰ ਪਰੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਏ ਦੇ ਹਾਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ghooman gher pare bikh bikhiaa satigur kaadt lee de haath |1| rahaau |
I was caught in the whirlpool of poisonous sin and corruption. The True Guru gave me His Hand; He lifted me up and pulled me out. ||1||Pause||
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਭੈ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਨਰਹਰਿ ਤੁਮੑ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਥ ॥
suaamee abhai niranjan narahar tuma raakh lehu ham paapee paath |
O my Fearless, Immaculate Lord and Master, please save me - I am a sinner, a sinking stone.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਲੋਭਿ ਲੁਭਤੇ ਕਾਸਟ ਲੋਹ ਤਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਥ ॥੧॥
kaam krodh bikhiaa lobh lubhate kaasatt loh tare sang saath |1|
I am lured and enticed by sexual desire, anger, greed and corruption, but associating with You, I am carried across, like iron in the wooden boat. ||1||
ਤੁਮੑ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਡ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਹਮ ਢੂਢਿ ਰਹੇ ਪਾਈ ਨਹੀ ਹਾਥ ॥
tuma vadd purakh badd agam agochar ham dtoodt rahe paaee nahee haath |
You are the Great Primal Being, the most Inaccessible and Unfathomable Lord God; I search for You, but cannot find Your depth.
ਤੂ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੂ ਆਪਨ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ॥੨॥
too parai parai aparanpar suaamee too aapan jaaneh aap jaganaath |2|
You are the farthest of the far, beyond the beyond, O my Lord and Master; You alone know Yourself, O Lord of the Universe. ||2||
ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਪਾਥ ॥
adrisatt agochar naam dhiaae satasangat mil saadhoo paath |
I meditate on the Name of the Unseen and Unfathomable Lord; joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I have found the Path of the Holy.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਅਕਥ ਕਥ ਕਾਥ ॥੩॥
har har kathaa sunee mil sangat har har japio akath kath kaath |3|
Joining the congregation, I listen to the Gospel of the Lord, Har, Har; I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, and speak the Unspoken Speech. ||3||
ਹਮਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਹਮ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ॥
hamare prabh jagadees gusaaee ham raakh lehu jaganaath |
My God is the Lord of the World, the Lord of the Universe; please save me, O Lord of all Creation.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਜਨ ਸਾਥ ॥੪॥੬॥
jan naanak daas daas daasan ko prabh karahu kripaa raakhahu jan saath |4|6|
Servant Nanak is the slave of the slave of Your slaves. O God, please bless me with Your Grace; please protect me and keep me with Your humble servants. ||4||6||

har ratan javehar laal |
The Lord is the Jewel, the Diamond, the Ruby.
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਘੜਿ ਟਕਸਾਲ ॥
har guramukh gharr ttakasaal |
The Lord fashions the Gurmukhs in His Mint.

ਤੁਮਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਏਕ ਜੀਹ ਕਿਆ ਕਥੈ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਲਾਲ ॥
tumare gun agam agochar ek jeeh kiaa kathai bichaaree raam raam raam raam laal |
Your Glorious Virtues are inaccessible and unfathomable; how can my one poor tongue describe them? O my Beloved Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam, Raam.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਜੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਭਈ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੧॥
tumaree jee akath kathaa too too too hee jaaneh hau har jap bhee nihaal nihaal nihaal |1|
O Dear Lord, You, You, You alone know Your Unspoken Speech. I have become enraptured, enraptured, enraptured, meditating on the Lord. ||1||
ਹਮਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸਖਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਜੀਹ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਹਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲ ॥
hamare har praan sakhaa suaamee har meetaa mere man tan jeeh har hare hare raam naam dhan maal |
The Lord, my Lord and Master, is my Companion and my Breath of Life; the Lord is my Best Friend. My mind, body and tongue are attuned to the Lord, Har, Haray, Haray. The Lord is my Wealth and Property.
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਭਾਗੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਲੀਓ ਰੀ ਸੁਹਾਗੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਹਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲੇ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਭਈ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥

Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the Lord of the Universe.
ਏਕਾ ਜੀਹ ਕੀਚੈ ਲਖ ਬੀਸ ॥
ekaa jeeh keechai lakh bees |
Let my one tongue become two hundred thousand
ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਪੀਸ ॥
jap har har sabad japees |
with them all, I will meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, and chant the Word of the Shabad.

ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਲਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਪੇ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪਉ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥
har kirapaa kar suaamee ham laae har sevaa har jap jape har jap jape jap jaapau jagadees |
O Lord, my Lord and Master, please be Merciful to me; please enjoin me to serve You. I chant and meditate on the Lord, I chant and meditate on the Lord, I chant and meditate on the Lord of the Universe.
ਤੁਮਰੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਜਪਹਿ ਤੇ ਊਤਮ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਘੁਮਿ ਘੁਮੇ ਘੁਮਿ ਘੁਮਿ ਜੀਸ ॥੧॥
tumare jan raam japeh te aootam tin kau hau ghum ghume ghum ghum jees |1|
Your humble servants chant and meditate on You, O Lord; they are sublime and exalted. I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice to them. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇ ਵਡ ਊਚੇ ਸੋ ਕਰਹਿ ਜਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੀਸ ॥
har tum vadd vadde vadde vadd aooche so kareh ji tudh bhaavees |
O Lord, You are the Greatest of the Great, the Greatest of the Great, the most Lofty and High. You do whatever You please.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਬੀਸ ॥੨॥੨॥੮॥

ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਜਰਨ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਿਧਾਈ ॥
praat jaran ke kaaj sidhaaee |
ਆਗੇ ਰਾਖਿ ਲਏ ਨਿਜੁ ਰਾਈ ॥
aage raakh le nij raaee |
ਜਬੈ ਚਿਤਾ ਪਰ ਬੈਠੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
jabai chitaa par baitthee jaae |
ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਦਿਯ ਆਗਿ ਲਗਾਇ ॥੫॥

ਚਾਰੋ ਦਿਸਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਬ ਲਾਗੀ ॥

ਤਬ ਹੀ ਉਤਰਿ ਚਿਤਾ ਤੈ ਭਾਗੀ ॥
tab hee utar chitaa tai bhaagee |
ਲੋਗਨ ਚਰਿਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
logan charit kriyaa neh jaanee |
ਦੀਨੀ ਤਿਸੀ ਚੰਡਾਰਹਿ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੬॥
deenee tisee chanddaareh raanee |6|
ਯੌ ਛਲਿ ਛੈਲ ਚਿਕਨਿਸਨ ਗਈ ॥
yau chhal chhail chikanisan gee |
ਕਿਨੂੰ ਨ ਬਾਤ ਤਾਹਿ ਲਖਿ ਲਈ ॥
kinoo na baat taeh lakh lee |
ਨਾਰਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਮਨ ਹਰਖ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
naar adhik man harakh badtaayo |
ਚਾਹਤ ਹੁਤੀ ਸੋਇ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੭॥
chaahat hutee soe pat paayo |7|
ਤਬ ਤੇ ਆਜੁ ਲਗੇ ਉਹ ਦੇਸਾ ॥
tab te aaj lage uh desaa |
ਮਾਰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੌ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਨਰੇਸਾ ॥
maarat triy kau pratham naresaa |
ਕਠ ਤਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਜਰਾਵਤ ॥

ਭਾਖਿ ਸਕਤਿ ਨਹਿ ਬਾਤ ਲਜਾਵਤ ॥੮॥
