ਮਨੁ ਘਨੈ ਭ੍ਰਮੈ ਬਨੈ ॥
man ghanai bhramai banai |
My mind wanders through the dense forest.
ਉਮਕਿ ਤਰਸਿ ਚਾਲੈ ॥
aumak taras chaalai |
It walks with eagerness and love,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕੀ ਚਾਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

hoping to meet God. ||1||Pause||
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਨ ਮਾਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਆਈ ਕਹੰਉ ਬੇਦਨ ਕਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
trai gun maaee mohi aaee kahnau bedan kaeh |1|
Maya with her three gunas - the three dispositions - has come to entice me; whom can I tell of my pain? ||1||
ਆਨ ਉਪਾਵ ਸਗਰ ਕੀਏ ਨਹਿ ਦੂਖ ਸਾਕਹਿ ਲਾਹਿ ॥
aan upaav sagar kee neh dookh saakeh laeh |
I tried everything else, but nothing could rid me of my sorrow.
ਭਜੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਮਿਲੁ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦਹਿ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੪॥
bhaj saran saadhoo naanakaa mil gun gobindeh gaeh |2|2|24|
So hurry to the Sanctuary of the Holy, O Nanak; joining them, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. ||2||2||24||

ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਕੀ ਸੋਭ ਸੁਹਾਵਨੀ ਨੀਕੀ ॥
pria kee sobh suhaavanee neekee |
The glory of my Beloved is noble and sublime.
ਹਾਹਾ ਹੂਹੂ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਅਪਸਰਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਰਸ ਗਾਵਨੀ ਨੀਕੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
haahaa hoohoo gandhrab apasaraa anand mangal ras gaavanee neekee |1| rahaau |
The celestial singers and angels sing His Sublime Praises in ecstasy, happiness and joy. ||1||Pause||
ਧੁਨਿਤ ਲਲਿਤ ਗੁਨਗੵ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖਾਵਨੀ ਨੀਕੀ ॥੧॥
dhunit lalit gunagay anik bhaant bahu bidh roop dikhaavanee neekee |1|
The most worthy beings sing God's Praises in beautiful harmonies, in all sorts of ways, in myriads of sublime forms. ||1||
ਗਿਰਿ ਤਰ ਥਲ ਜਲ ਭਵਨ ਭਰਪੁਰਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਲਾਲਨ ਛਾਵਨੀ ਨੀਕੀ ॥
gir tar thal jal bhavan bharapur ghatt ghatt laalan chhaavanee neekee |
Throughout the mountains, trees, deserts, oceans and galaxies, permeating each and every heart, the sublime grandeur of my Love is totally pervading.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਮਈਆ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਨੀਕੀ ॥੨॥੩॥੨੫॥
saadhasang raameea ras paaeo naanak jaa kai bhaavanee neekee |2|3|25|
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Love of the Lord is found; O Nanak, sublime is that faith. ||2||3||25||

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur preet piaare charan kamal rid antar dhaare |1| rahaau |
With love for the Guru, I enshrine the Lotus Feet of my Lord deep within my heart. ||1||Pause||
ਦਰਸੁ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਗਏ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗਏ ॥
daras safalio daras pekhio ge kilabikh ge |
I gaze on the Blessed Vision of His Fruitful Darshan; my sins are erased and taken away.
ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਉਜੀਆਰੇ ॥੧॥
man niramal ujeeaare |1|
My mind is immaculate and enlightened. ||1||
ਬਿਸਮ ਬਿਸਮੈ ਬਿਸਮ ਭਈ ॥
bisam bisamai bisam bhee |
I am wonderstruck, stunned and amazed.
ਅਘ ਕੋਟਿ ਹਰਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਲਈ ॥
agh kott harate naam lee |
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, millions of sins are destroyed.
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਮਸਤਕੁ ਡਾਰਿ ਪਹੀ ॥
gur charan masatak ddaar pahee |
I fall at His Feet, and touch my forehead to them.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ਤੂੰਹੀ ਏਕ ਤੁਹੀ ॥
prabh ek toonhee ek tuhee |
You alone are, You alone are, O God.
ਭਗਤ ਟੇਕ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ॥
bhagat ttek tuhaare |
Your devotees take Your Support.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥੨॥੪॥੨੬॥

Servant Nanak has come to the Door of Your Sanctuary. ||2||4||26||

Rain down with happiness in God's Will.

My mind blossoms forth in the Society of the Saints; soaking up the rain, the earth is blessed and beautified. ||1||

The peacock loves the thunder of the rain clouds.
ਚਿਤੁ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਬੂੰਦ ਓਰ ॥

The rainbird's mind is drawn to the rain-drop
ਐਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹ ॥
aiso har sange man moh |
- so is my mind enticed by the Lord.
ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਧੋਹ ॥
tiaag maaeaa dhoh |
I have renounced Maya, the deceiver.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਗਿਆ ॥੨॥੫॥੨੭॥

Joining with the Saints, Nanak is awakened. ||2||5||27||

Sing forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the World.

Enshrine the Lord's Name in your consciousness. ||1||Pause||
ਛੋਡਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਤਜਿ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂਆ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
chhodd maan taj gumaan mil saadhooaa kai sang |
Forsake your pride, and abandon your ego; join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਏਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਂਹਿ ਦੋਖ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥
har simar ek rang mitt jaanhi dokh meet |1|
Meditate in loving remembrance on the One Lord; your sorrows shall be ended, O friend. ||1||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
paarabraham bhe deaal |
The Supreme Lord God has become merciful;
ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਏ ਬਿਖੈ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
binas ge bikhai janjaal |
corrupt entanglements have come to an end.
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾਂ ਕੈ ਚਰਨ ਲਾਗਿ ॥
saadh janaan kai charan laag |
Grasping the feet of the Holy,
ਨਾਨਕ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੀਤ ॥੨॥੬॥੨੮॥
naanak gaavai gobind neet |2|6|28|
Nanak sings forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the World. ||2||6||28||

The Embodiment of the Lord of the Universe roars like the thunder-cloud.

Singing His Glorious Praises brings peace and bliss. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਸਰਨ ਤਰਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਧੁਨਿ ਅਨਹਤਾ ਰਸ ਬੈਨ ॥੧॥
har charan saran taran saagar dhun anahataa ras bain |1|
The Sanctuary of the Lord's Feet carries us across the world-ocean. His Sublime Word is the unstruck celestial melody. ||1||
ਪਥਿਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਚਿਤ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਆਤਮ ਜਲੁ ਲੈਨ ॥
pathik piaas chit sarovar aatam jal lain |
The thirsty traveller's consciousness obtains the water of the soul from the pool of nectar.
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੈਨ ॥੨॥੭॥੨੯॥
har daras prem jan naanak kar kirapaa prabh dain |2|7|29|
Servant Nanak loves the Blessed Vision of the Lord; in His Mercy, God has blessed him with it. ||2||7||29||

ਆਪੁ ਜਨਕੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
aap janak jagadees savaaree |
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
taa kee jaat na prabhaa uchaaree |
ਫੂਲ ਰਹੀ ਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਫੁਲਵਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
fool rahee jan kar fulavaaree |2|
ਪ੍ਰਮੁਦ ਸੈਨ ਸੁਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅਵਤਰਿਯੋ ॥
pramud sain sut grih avatariyo |
ਮਦਨ ਰੂਪ ਦੂਸਰ ਜਨੁ ਧਰਿਯੋ ॥
madan roop doosar jan dhariyo |
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥
jaa kee jaat na prabhaa bakhaanee |
ਅਟਿਕ ਰਹਤ ਲਖਿ ਰੰਕ ਰੁ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
attik rehat lakh rank ru raanee |3|
ਜਬ ਵਹ ਤਰੁਨ ਕੁਅਰ ਅਤਿ ਭਯੋ ॥
jab veh tarun kuar at bhayo |
ਠੌਰਹਿ ਠੌਰ ਅਵਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਯੇ ॥
tthauareh tthauar avar hvai gaye |
ਬਾਲਪਨੇ ਕਿ ਤਗੀਰੀ ਆਈ ॥
baalapane ki tageeree aaee |
ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗ ਫਿਰੀ ਅਨੰਗ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥੪॥

ਤਹ ਇਕ ਸੁਤਾ ਸਾਹ ਕੀ ਅਹੀ ॥

ਏਕ ਸਹਚਰੀ ਤਹਾ ਪਠਾਈ ॥੫॥

ਸਖੀ ਕੁਅਰ ਤਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਜਨਾਈ ॥

ਸਾਹ ਸੁਤਾ ਤਵ ਹੇਰਿ ਲੁਭਾਈ ॥
saah sutaa tav her lubhaaee |
ਕਰਹੁ ਸਜਨ ਤਿਹ ਧਾਮ ਪਯਾਨਾ ॥
karahu sajan tih dhaam payaanaa |
ਭੋਗ ਕਰੋ ਵਾ ਸੌ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਾਨਾ ॥੬॥
bhog karo vaa sau bidh naanaa |6|
ਦ੍ਵੈ ਹੈਗੇ ਇਹ ਨਗਰ ਖੁਦਾਈ ॥
dvai haige ih nagar khudaaee |
ਤਿਨ ਦੁਹੂੰਅਨ ਮੌ ਰਾਰਿ ਬਢਾਈ ॥
tin duhoonan mau raar badtaaee |
ਜੌ ਤੂ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਜਿਯਨ ਤੈ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
jau too duhoon jiyan tai maarai |
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਸਾਥ ਬਿਹਾਰੈ ॥੭॥
bahur hamaaro saath bihaarai |7|
ਸੁਨਿ ਬਚ ਭੇਸ ਤੁਰਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਧਰਾ ॥
sun bach bhes turak triy dharaa |
ਬਾਨਾ ਵਹੈ ਆਪਨੋ ਕਰਾ ॥
baanaa vahai aapano karaa |
ਗਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਤਿਹ ਕਿਯੋ ਪਯਾਨਾ ॥
geh kripaan tih kiyo payaanaa |
ਜਹਾ ਨਿਮਾਜੀ ਪੜਤ ਦੁਗਾਨਾ ॥੮॥
jahaa nimaajee parrat dugaanaa |8|
ਜਬ ਹੀ ਪੜੀ ਨਿਮਾਜ ਤਿਨੋ ਸਬ ॥
jab hee parree nimaaj tino sab |
ਸਿਜਦਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਸੁ ਗਏ ਤੁਰਕ ਜਬ ॥
sijadaa bikhai su ge turak jab |
ਤਬ ਇਹ ਘਾਤ ਭਲੀ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
tab ih ghaat bhalee kar paaee |
ਕਾਟਿ ਮੂੰਡ ਦੁਹੂੰਅਨ ਕੇ ਆਈ ॥੯॥
kaatt moondd duhoonan ke aaee |9|
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੋਊ ਖੁਦਾਈ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
eih bidh doaoo khudaaee maare |
ਰਮੀ ਆਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਥ ਪ︀ਯਾਰੇ ॥
ramee aan kar saath payaare |
ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਨ ਕਿਨੀ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥
bhed abhed na kinee bichaaraa |
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਦੁਸਟ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਇਨ ਮਾਰਾ ॥੧੦॥
