Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਮੋਹਨ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਤਾਰਹਿ ॥
mohan sabh jeea tere too taareh |
O my Enticing Lord, all beings are Yours - You save them.
ਛੁਟਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਨਿਮਖ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਉਧਾਰਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chhutteh sanghaar nimakh kirapaa te kott brahamandd udhaareh |1| rahaau |
Even a tiny bit of Your Mercy ends all cruelty and tyranny. You save and redeem millions of universes. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਹਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਾਮੑਾਰਹਿ ॥
kareh aradaas bahut benantee nimakh nimakh saamaareh |
I offer countless prayers; I remember You each and every instant.
ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਹਿ ॥੧॥
hohu kripaal deen dukh bhanjan haath dee nisataareh |1|
Please be merciful to me, O Destroyer of the pains of the poor; please give me Your hand and save me. ||1||
ਕਿਆ ਏ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਕਹੁ ਏ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਮਾਰਹਿ ॥
kiaa e bhoopat bapure kaheeeh kahu e kis no maareh |
And what about these poor kings? Tell me, who can they kill?
ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਗਤੁ ਤੁਮੑਾਰਹਿ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੩੪॥

Save me, save me, save me, O Giver of peace; O Nanak, all the world is Yours. ||2||11||34||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
ab mohi dhan paaeo har naamaa |
Now I have obtained the wealth of the Lord's Name.
ਭਏ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸਭ ਬੁਝੀ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਲਿਖਿਓ ਲੇਖੁ ਮਥਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhe achint trisan sabh bujhee hai ihu likhio lekh mathaamaa |1| rahaau |
I have become carefree, and all my thirsty desires are satisfied. Such is the destiny written on my forehead. ||1||Pause||
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਭਇਓ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਇਓ ਦੇਹ ਗਿਰਾਮਾ ॥
khojat khojat bheo bairaagee fir aaeo deh giraamaa |
Searching and searching, I became depressed; I wandered all around, and finally came back to my body-village.
ਗੁਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਸਉਦਾ ਇਹੁ ਜੋਰਿਓ ਹਥਿ ਚਰਿਓ ਲਾਲੁ ਅਗਾਮਾ ॥੧॥
gur kripaal saudaa ihu jorio hath chario laal agaamaa |1|
The Merciful Guru made this deal, and I have obtained the priceless jewel. ||1||
ਆਨ ਬਾਪਾਰ ਬਨਜ ਜੋ ਕਰੀਅਹਿ ਤੇਤੇ ਦੂਖ ਸਹਾਮਾ ॥
aan baapaar banaj jo kareeeh tete dookh sahaamaa |
The other deals and trades which I did, brought only sorrow and suffering.
ਗੋਬਿਦ ਭਜਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੩੫॥
gobid bhajan ke nirabhai vaapaaree har raas naanak raam naamaa |2|12|35|
Fearless are those traders who deal in meditation on the Lord of the Universe. O Nanak, the Lord's Name is their capital. ||2||12||35||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਮਿਸਟ ਲਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬੋਲਾ ॥
merai man misatt lage pria bolaa |
The Speech of my Beloved seems so sweet to my mind.
ਗੁਰਿ ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ਸਦ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਢੋਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur baah pakar prabh sevaa laae sad deaal har dtolaa |1| rahaau |
The Guru has taken hold of my arm, and linked me to God's service. My Beloved Lord is forever merciful to me. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਸਹਿਤ ਸਭਿ ਗੋਲਾ ॥
prabh too tthaakur sarab pratipaalak mohi kalatr sahit sabh golaa |
O God, You are my Lord and Master; You are the Cherisher of all. My wife and I are totally Your slaves.
ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਤੂਹੈ ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਓਲੑਾ ॥੧॥
maan taan sabh toohai toohai ik naam teraa mai olaa |1|
You are all my honor and power - You are. Your Name is my only Support. ||1||
ਜੇ ਤਖਤਿ ਬੈਸਾਲਹਿ ਤਉ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੇ ਘਾਸੁ ਬਢਾਵਹਿ ਕੇਤਕ ਬੋਲਾ ॥
je takhat baisaaleh tau daas tumaare ghaas badtaaveh ketak bolaa |
If You seat me on the throne, then I am Your slave. If You make me a grass-cutter, then what can I say?
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲਾ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੩੬॥
jan naanak ke prabh purakh bidhaate mere tthaakur agah atolaa |2|13|36|
Servant Nanak's God is the Primal Lord, the Architect of Destiny, Unfathomable and Immeasurable. ||2||13||36||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਤ ਗੁਣ ਸੋਹੰ ॥
rasanaa raam kehat gun sohan |
The tongue becomes beautiful, uttering the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਓਪਾਇ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਚਰਿਤ ਮਨ ਮੋਹੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ek nimakh opaae samaavai dekh charit man mohan |1| rahaau |
In an instant, He creates and destroys. Gazing upon His Wondrous Plays, my mind is fascinated. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸੁ ਸੁਣਿਐ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਰਹਸੁ ਅਤਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਮਾਨ ਦੁਖ ਜੋਹੰ ॥
jis suniai man hoe rehas at ridai maan dukh johan |
Listening to His Praises, my mind is in utter ecstasy, and my heart is rid of pride and pain.
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਰਾਇਓ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੋਹੰ ॥੧॥
sukh paaeo dukh door paraaeo ban aaee prabh tohan |1|
I have found peace, and my pains have been taken away, since I became one with God. ||1||
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਗਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦ੍ਰੋਹੰ ॥
kilavikh ge man niramal hoee hai gur kaadte maaeaa drohan |
Sinful resides have been wiped away, and my mind is immaculate. The Guru has lifted me up and pulled me out of the deception of Maya.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੋਹੰ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੩੭॥
kahu naanak mai so prabh paaeaa karan kaaran samarathohan |2|14|37|
Says Nanak, I have found God, the All-powerful Creator, the Cause of causes. ||2||14||37||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਨੈਨਹੁ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਚਲਤੁ ਤਮਾਸਾ ॥
nainahu dekhio chalat tamaasaa |
With my eyes, I have seen the marvellous wonders of the Lord.
ਸਭ ਹੂ ਦੂਰਿ ਸਭ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰੈ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਘਟ ਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sabh hoo door sabh hoo te nerai agam agam ghatt vaasaa |1| rahaau |
He is far from all, and yet near to all. He is Inaccessible and Unfathomable, and yet He dwells in the heart. ||1||Pause||
ਅਭੂਲੁ ਨ ਭੂਲੈ ਲਿਖਿਓ ਨ ਚਲਾਵੈ ਮਤਾ ਨ ਕਰੈ ਪਚਾਸਾ ॥
abhool na bhoolai likhio na chalaavai mataa na karai pachaasaa |
The Infallible Lord never makes a mistake. He does not have to write His Orders, and He does not have to consult with anyone.
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਬਿਨਾਹੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
khin meh saaj savaar binaahai bhagat vachhal gunataasaa |1|
In an instant, He creates, embellishes and destroys. He is the Lover of His devotees, the Treasure of Excellence. ||1||
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਬਲਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਕੀਓ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
andh koop meh deepak balio gur ridai keeo paragaasaa |
Lighting the lamp in the deep dark pit, the Guru illumines and enlightens the heart.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਆਸਾ ॥੨॥੧੫॥੩੮॥
kahu naanak daras pekh sukh paaeaa sabh pooran hoee aasaa |2|15|38|
Says Nanak, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, I have found peace, and all my hopes have been fulfilled. ||2||15||38||

ਜਾ ਸਮ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਨ ਬਿਧਨਾ ਸਾਜਾ ॥੧॥
jaa sam dutiy na bidhanaa saajaa |1|
ਸੰਕਰ ਦੇ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
sankar de taa kee bar naaree |
ਜਨੁਕ ਆਪੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
januk aap jagadees savaaree |
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਮਤੀ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਤਿਹ ਸੋਹੈ ॥
rudr matee duhitaa tih sohai |
ਸੁਰ ਨਰ ਨਾਗ ਅਸੁਰ ਮਨ ਮੋਹੈ ॥੨॥
sur nar naag asur man mohai |2|
ਤਹਾ ਛਬੀਲ ਦਾਸ ਥੋ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
tahaa chhabeel daas tho chhatree |
ਰੂਪਵਾਨ ਛਬਿ ਮਾਨ ਅਤਿ ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
roopavaan chhab maan at atree |
ਤਾ ਪਰ ਅਟਕ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਈ ॥
taa par attak kuar kee bhee |
ਆਠ ਟੂਕ ਵਾ ਪਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ॥੩॥
