Behold the flowers flowering, and the blossoms blossoming forth!
ਅਹੰ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਤਿਆਗੇ ॥
ahan tiaag tiaage |
Renounce and abandon your egotism.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਪਾਗੇ ॥

Grasp hold of His Lotus Feet.
ਤੁਮ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਭਾਗੇ ॥
tum milahu prabh sabhaage |
Meet with God, O blessed one.
ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har chet man mere | rahaau |
O my mind, remain conscious of the Lord. ||Pause||
ਸਘਨ ਬਾਸੁ ਕੂਲੇ ॥
saghan baas koole |
The tender young plants smell so good,
ਇਕਿ ਰਹੇ ਸੂਕਿ ਕਠੂਲੇ ॥
eik rahe sook katthoole |
while others remain like dry wood.
ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁਤਿ ਆਈ ॥
basant rut aaee |
The season of spring has come;
ਪਰਫੂਲਤਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥

it blossoms forth luxuriantly. ||1||
ਅਬ ਕਲੂ ਆਇਓ ਰੇ ॥
ab kaloo aaeo re |
Now, the Dark Age of Kali Yuga has come.
ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਵਹੁ ਬੋਵਹੁ ॥

Plant the Naam, the Name of the One Lord.
ਅਨ ਰੂਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
an root naahee naahee |
It is not the season to plant other seeds.
ਮਤੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਹੁ ਭੂਲਹੁ ॥
mat bharam bhoolahu bhoolahu |
Do not wander lost in doubt and delusion.
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
gur mile har paae |
One who has such destiny written on his forehead,
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੈ ਲੇਖਾ ॥
jis masatak hai lekhaa |
Shall meet with the Guru and find the Lord.
ਮਨ ਰੁਤਿ ਨਾਮ ਰੇ ॥

O mortal, this is the season of the Naam.

ਹੋਇ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
hoe ikatr milahu mere bhaaee dubidhaa door karahu liv laae |
Come and join together, O my Siblings of Destiny; dispel your sense of duality and let yourselves be lovingly absorbed in the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਕੇ ਹੋਵਹੁ ਜੋੜੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੈਸਹੁ ਸਫਾ ਵਿਛਾਇ ॥੧॥
har naamai ke hovahu jorree guramukh baisahu safaa vichhaae |1|
Let yourselves be joined to the Name of the Lord; become Gurmukh, spread out your mat, and sit down. ||1||
ਇਨੑ ਬਿਧਿ ਪਾਸਾ ਢਾਲਹੁ ਬੀਰ ॥

In this way, throw the dice, O brothers.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲਿ ਨਹ ਲਾਗੈ ਪੀਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guramukh naam japahu din raatee ant kaal neh laagai peer |1| rahaau |
As Gurmukh, chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, day and night. At the very last moment, you shall not have to suffer in pain. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਤੁਮੑ ਚਉਪੜਿ ਸਾਜਹੁ ਸਤੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਤੁਮੑ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
karam dharam tuma chauparr saajahu sat karahu tuma saaree |
Let righteous actions be your gameboard, and let the truth be your dice.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਜੀਤਹੁ ਐਸੀ ਖੇਲ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੨॥
kaam krodh lobh mohu jeetahu aisee khel har piaaree |2|
Conquer sexual desire, anger, greed and worldly attachment; only such a game as this is dear to the Lord. ||2||
ਉਠਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਪਰਭਾਤੇ ਸੋਏ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥
autth isanaan karahu parabhaate soe har aaraadhe |
Rise in the early hours of the morning, and take your cleansing bath. Before you go to bed at night, remember to worship the Lord.
ਬਿਖੜੇ ਦਾਉ ਲੰਘਾਵੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੩॥
bikharre daau langhaavai meraa satigur sukh sehaj setee ghar jaate |3|
My True Guru will assist you, even on your most difficult moves; you shall reach your true home in celestial peace and poise. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਖੇਲੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਖੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
har aape khelai aape dekhai har aape rachan rachaaeaa |
The Lord Himself plays, and He Himself watches; the Lord Himself created the creation.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੋ ਨਰੁ ਖੇਲੈ ਸੋ ਜਿਣਿ ਬਾਜੀ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੯॥
jan naanak guramukh jo nar khelai so jin baajee ghar aaeaa |4|1|19|
O servant Nanak, that person who plays this game as Gurmukh, wins the game of life, and returns to his true home. ||4||1||19||

ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੂਹੈ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
teree kudarat toohai jaaneh aaur na doojaa jaanai |
You alone know Your Creative Power, O Lord; no one else knows it.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਤੁਝੈ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥੧॥
jis no kripaa kareh mere piaare soee tujhai pachhaanai |1|
He alone realizes You, O my Beloved, unto whom You show Your Mercy. ||1||
ਤੇਰਿਆ ਭਗਤਾ ਕਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
teriaa bhagataa kau balihaaraa |
I am a sacrifice to Your devotees.
ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਰੰਗ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਪਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
thaan suhaavaa sadaa prabh teraa rang tere aapaaraa |1| rahaau |
Your place is eternally beautiful, God; Your wonders are infinite. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
teree sevaa tujh te hovai aaur na doojaa karataa |
Only You Yourself can perform Your service. No one else can do it.
ਭਗਤੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋਈ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਰੰਗੁ ਧਰਤਾ ॥੨॥
bhagat teraa soee tudh bhaavai jis no too rang dharataa |2|
He alone is Your devotee, who is pleasing to You. You bless them with Your Love. ||2||
ਤੂ ਵਡ ਦਾਤਾ ਤੂ ਵਡ ਦਾਨਾ ਅਉਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
too vadd daataa too vadd daanaa aaur nahee ko doojaa |
You are the Great Giver; You are so very Wise. There is no other like You.
ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਉ ਕਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ॥੩॥
too samarath suaamee meraa hau kiaa jaanaa teree poojaa |3|
You are my All-powerful Lord and Master; I do not know how to worship You. ||3||
ਤੇਰਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੈ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
teraa mehal agochar mere piaare bikham teraa hai bhaanaa |
Your Mansion is imperceptible, O my Beloved; it is so difficult to accept Your Will.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਢਹਿ ਪਇਆ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਮੁਗਧ ਅਜਾਣਾ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੦॥
kahu naanak dteh peaa duaarai rakh levahu mugadh ajaanaa |4|2|20|
Says Nanak, I have collapsed at Your Door, Lord. I am foolish and ignorant - please save me! ||4||2||20||

ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਤਰੁਨੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਲਜਾਈ ॥੨੨॥

ਜੌ ਯਹ ਬਾਤ ਪਰੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਪੈ ਹੈ ॥
jau yeh baat paree sun pai hai |
ਮੋ ਕਹ ਕਾਢਿ ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਤੇ ਦੈ ਹੈ ॥
mo keh kaadt svarag te dai hai |
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਯਾ ਕੌ ਕਰੌ ਉਪਾਈ ॥
taa te yaa kau karau upaaee |
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਉਹਿ ਦੇਉ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੨੩॥
jaa te ih uhi deo milaaee |23|
ਆਲਯ ਹੁਤੋ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੋ ਜਹਾ ॥
aalay huto kuar ko jahaa |
ਵਾ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਲਿਖਤ ਭਈ ਤਹਾ ॥
vaa ko chitr likhat bhee tahaa |
ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਜਬੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੁਅਰ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
chitr jabai tin kuar nihaaraa |
ਰਾਜ ਪਾਟ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਤਜਿ ਡਾਰਾ ॥੨੪॥

ਰੋਇ ਰੋਇ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਨੈਨਨ ਰੁਹਰ ਬਹਾਵਈ ॥
roe roe drig nainan ruhar bahaavee |
ਹੋ ਕੋਟਿਨ ਕਰੈ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਨ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਪਾਵਈ ॥੨੫॥

ਨਟੀ ਨਾਟਕੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਨੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਤਣਿ ਬਖਾਨਿਯੈ ॥

ਨਰੀ ਨਾਗਨੀ ਨਗਨੀ ਨਿਜੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਜਾਨਿਯੈ ॥
naree naaganee naganee nij triy jaaniyai |
ਸਿਵੀ ਬਾਸਵੀ ਸਸੀ ਕਿ ਰਵਿ ਤਨ ਜਈ ॥
sivee baasavee sasee ki rav tan jee |
ਹੋ ਚੇਟਕ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਦਿਖਾਇ ਚਤੁਰਿ ਚਿਤ ਲੈ ਗਈ ॥੨੬॥

ਲਿਖ︀ਯੋ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਇਹ ਠੌਰ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਗਈ ॥
likhayo chitr ih tthauar bahur tih tthaa gee |
ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਚਤੁਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਵਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਲਿਖਤੀ ਭਈ ॥
chitr chatur ke bhavan bikhai likhatee bhee |
ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਜਬ ਤਿਨ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
praat kuar ko jab tin chitr nihaariyo |
ਹੋ ਰਾਜ ਪਾਟ ਸਭ ਸਾਜ ਤਬੈ ਤਜਿ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੭॥

ਨਿਰਖਿ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਅਟਕਤ ਭਈ ॥
nirakh kuar ko chitr kuar attakat bhee |
ਰਾਜ ਪਾਟ ਧਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਸਭ ਜਿਯ ਤੇ ਗਈ ॥
raaj paatt dhan kee sudh sabh jiy te gee |
ਬਢੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀ ਪੀਰ ਬਤਾਵੈ ਕਹੋ ਕਿਹ ॥
badtee prem kee peer bataavai kaho kih |
ਹੋ ਜੋ ਤਿਹ ਸੋਕ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਆਨਿ ਤਿਹ ॥੨੮॥
ho jo tih sok nivaar milaavai aan tih |28|
ਮਤਵਾਰੇ ਕੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਬਵਰੀ ਭਈ ॥
matavaare kee bhaat kuar bavaree bhee |
ਖਾਨ ਪਾਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤਜਿ ਕਰਿ ਦਈ ॥
khaan paan kee sudh tab hee taj kar dee |
ਹਸਿ ਹਸਿ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਉਠੈ ਕਬੈ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਈ ॥
has has kabahoon utthai kabai gun gaavee |
ਹੋ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਰੋਵਤ ਦਿਨ ਅਰੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਤਾਵਈ ॥੨੯॥

ਦਿਨ ਦਿਨ ਪਿਯਰੀ ਹੋਤ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਤਨ ਜਾਵਈ ॥
din din piyaree hot kuar tan jaavee |
ਅੰਤਰ ਪਿਯ ਕੀ ਪੀਰ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਜਤਾਵਈ ॥
antar piy kee peer na pragatt jataavee |
ਸਾਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਰ ਪਿਯਾ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਰਹੈ ॥
saat samundar paar piyaa taa ko rahai |
ਹੋ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਇਤੋ ਦੁਖ ਕਿਹ ਕਹੈ ॥੩੦॥
ho aan milaavai taeh ito dukh kih kahai |30|
ਅਬ ਕਹੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੀ ਕਛੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
ab kaho brithaa kuar kee kachh sun leejiyai |
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸੁਘਰ ਚਿਤ ਲਾਇ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਇਤ ਦੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
sunahu sughar chit laae sravan it deejiyai |
ਰੋਤ ਰੋਤ ਨਿਸੁ ਦਿਨ ਸਭ ਸਜਨ ਬਿਤਾਵਈ ॥
rot rot nis din sabh sajan bitaavee |
ਹੋ ਪਰੈ ਨ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਹਾਥ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਉਰ ਲਾਵਈ ॥੩੧॥
