ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥
teree ttek tere gun gaeh |
With Your Support, I sing Your Glorious Praises.
ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ਕਾਲੁ ॥
teree ttek na pohai kaal |
With Your Support, death cannot even touch me.
ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਜੰਜਾਲੁ ॥੧॥

With Your Support, my entanglements vanish. ||1||

With Your Support, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean.
ਰਾਖਣਹਾਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ॥੨॥

The Perfect Lord, our Protector and Savior, is the Ocean of Peace. ||2||

The True Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.

All meditate on God, the Treasure of Virtue.
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾ ॥
jap jap anad kareh tere daasaa |
Chanting and meditating on You, Your slaves celebrate in bliss.
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਾ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੩੯॥

Nanak meditates in remembrance on the True Lord, the Treasure of Virtue. ||4||26||39||

ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਛੋਡੀ ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਾ ॥
prathame chhoddee paraaee nindaa |
First, I gave up slandering others.
ਉਤਰਿ ਗਈ ਸਭ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਦਾ ॥
autar gee sabh man kee chindaa |
All the anxiety of my mind was dispelled.
ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
lobh mohu sabh keeno door |
Greed and attachment were totally banished.
ਪਰਮ ਬੈਸਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੇਖਿ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੧॥
param baisano prabh pekh hajoor |1|
I see God ever-present, close at hand; I have become a great devotee. ||1||
ਐਸੋ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਇ ॥
aiso tiaagee viralaa koe |
Such a renunciate is very rare.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Such a humble servant chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਕਾ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
ahanbudh kaa chhoddiaa sang |
I have forsaken my egotistical intellect.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਾ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
kaam krodh kaa utariaa rang |
The love of sexual desire and anger has vanished.
ਨਾਮ ਧਿਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥
naam dhiaae har har hare |
I meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਸਤਰੇ ॥੨॥
saadh janaa kai sang nisatare |2|
In the Company of the Holy, I am emancipated. ||2||
ਬੈਰੀ ਮੀਤ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਮਾਨ ॥
bairee meet hoe samaan |
Enemy and friend are all the same to me.
ਸਰਬ ਮਹਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥
sarab meh pooran bhagavaan |
The Perfect Lord God is permeating all.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਾਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
prabh kee aagiaa maan sukh paaeaa |
Accepting the Will of God, I have found peace.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
gur poorai har naam drirraaeaa |3|
The Perfect Guru has implanted the Name of the Lord within me. ||3||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਪਿ ॥
kar kirapaa jis raakhai aap |
That person, whom the Lord, in His Mercy, saves
ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਪੈ ਨਾਮ ਜਾਪ ॥
soee bhagat japai naam jaap |
that devotee chants and meditates on the Naam.
ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਲਈ ॥
man pragaas gur te mat lee |
That person, whose mind is illumined, and who obtains understanding through the Guru
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਪਈ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੪੦॥
kahu naanak taa kee pooree pee |4|27|40|
- says Nanak, he is totally fulfilled. ||4||27||40||

ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਹੁਤੈ ਧਨਿ ਖਾਟੇ ॥
sukh naahee bahutai dhan khaatte |
There is no peace in earning lots of money.
ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੇਖੇ ਨਿਰਤਿ ਨਾਟੇ ॥
sukh naahee pekhe nirat naatte |
There is no peace in watching dances and plays.
ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਹੁ ਦੇਸ ਕਮਾਏ ॥
sukh naahee bahu des kamaae |
There is no peace in conquering lots of countries.
ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥੧॥
sarab sukhaa har har gun gaae |1|
All peace comes from singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਲਹਹੁ ॥
sookh sehaj aanand lahahu |
You shall obtain peace, poise and bliss,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saadhasangat paaeeai vaddabhaagee guramukh har har naam kahahu |1| rahaau |
when you find the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, by great good fortune. As Gurmukh, utter the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
ਬੰਧਨ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਤਾ ॥
bandhan maat pitaa sut banitaa |
Mother, father, children and spouse - all place the mortal in bondage.
ਬੰਧਨ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਹਉ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
bandhan karam dharam hau karataa |
Religious rituals and actions done in ego place the mortal in bondage.
ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਨਹਾਰੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ॥
bandhan kaattanahaar man vasai |
If the Lord, the Shatterer of bonds, abides in the mind,
ਤਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਬਸੈ ॥੨॥
tau sukh paavai nij ghar basai |2|
then peace is obtained, dwelling in the home of the self deep within. ||2||
ਸਭਿ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਵਨਹਾਰ ॥
sabh jaachik prabh devanahaar |
Everyone is a beggar; God is the Great Giver.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
gun nidhaan beant apaar |
The Treasure of Virtue is the Infinite, Endless Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
jis no karam kare prabh apanaa |
That person, unto whom God grants His Mercy
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨੈ ਜਨਿ ਜਪਨਾ ॥੩॥
har har naam tinai jan japanaa |3|
- that humble being chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਅਪਨੇ ਆਗੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
gur apane aagai aradaas |
I offer my prayer to my Guru.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਿ ॥
kar kirapaa purakh gunataas |
O Primal Lord God, Treasure of Virtue, please bless me with Your Grace.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
kahu naanak tumaree saranaaee |
Says Nanak, I have come to Your Sanctuary.
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਖਹੁ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੪੧॥
jiau bhaavai tiau rakhahu gusaaee |4|28|41|
If it pleases You, please protect me, O Lord of the World. ||4||28||41||

Meeting with the Guru, I have forsaken the love of duality.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
guramukh japio har kaa naau |
As Gurmukh, I chant the Name of the Lord.
ਬਿਸਰੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਨਾਮਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
bisaree chint naam rang laagaa |
My anxiety is gone, and I am in love with the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਜਾਗਾ ॥੧॥
janam janam kaa soeaa jaagaa |1|
I was asleep for countless lifetimes, but I have now awakened. ||1||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ॥
kar kirapaa apanee sevaa laae |
Granting His Grace, He has linked me to His service.
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saadhoo sang sarab sukh paae |1| rahaau |
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, all pleasures are found. ||1||Pause||
ਰੋਗ ਦੋਖ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
rog dokh gur sabad nivaare |
The Word of the Guru's Shabad has eradicated disease and evil.
ਨਾਮ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਾਰੇ ॥
naam aaukhadh man bheetar saare |
My mind has absorbed the medicine of the Naam.
ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
gur bhettat man bheaa anand |
Meeting with the Guru, my mind is in bliss.
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਮ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੨॥
sarab nidhaan naam bhagavant |2|
All treasures are in the Name of the Lord God. ||2||
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕੀ ਮਿਟੀ ਜਮ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥
janam maran kee mittee jam traas |
My fear of birth and death and the Messenger of Death has been dispelled.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਊਂਧ ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸ ॥
saadhasangat aoondh kamal bigaas |
In the Saadh Sangat, the inverted lotus of my heart has blossomed forth.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥
gun gaavat nihachal bisraam |
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, I have found eternal, abiding peace.
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਮ ॥੩॥
pooran hoe sagale kaam |3|
All my tasks are perfectly accomplished. ||3||
ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਆਈ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
dulabh deh aaee paravaan |
This human body, so difficult to obtain, is approved by the Lord.
ਸਫਲ ਹੋਈ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
safal hoee jap har har naam |
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, it has become fruitful.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੀ ॥
kahu naanak prabh kirapaa karee |
Says Nanak, God has blessed me with His Mercy.
ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਜਪਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੀ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੪੨॥

With every breath and morsel of food, I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||29||42||

ਸੋਤਨੀਨ ਕੌ ਸੁਤ ਸਹਿਤ ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਲਖਿ ਨੈਨ ॥
sotaneen kau sut sahit at prataap lakh nain |
ਬੁਡੀ ਸੋਚ ਸਰ ਮੈ ਰਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਨ ਭਾਖੈ ਬੈਨ ॥੪॥
buddee soch sar mai rahai pragatt na bhaakhai bain |4|

ਤਾ ਸੌ ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਉਪਜਾਈ ॥

ਹਿਤੂ ਜਾਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਰੀ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੫॥

ਜਬ ਵਹੁ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਵੈ ॥
jab vahu raaj kuar grih aavai |
ਬਿਖਿ ਭੋਜਨ ਲੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਖਵਾਵੈ ॥

ਜਿਯ ਤੈ ਖੋਇ ਤਵਨ ਕੌ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
