ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
har kirapaa har kirapaa kar satigur mel sukhadaataa raam |
O Lord, show Your Mercy, show Your Mercy, and let me meet the True Guru, the Giver of peace.
ਹਮ ਪੂਛਹ ਹਮ ਪੂਛਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
ham poochhah ham poochhah satigur paas har baataa raam |
I go and ask, I go and ask from the True Guru, about the sermon of the Lord.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਤ ਪੂਛਹ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
satigur paas har baat poochhah jin naam padaarath paaeaa |
I ask about the sermon of the Lord from the True Guru, who has obtained the treasure of the Naam.
ਪਾਇ ਲਗਹ ਨਿਤ ਕਰਹ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਇਆ ॥
paae lagah nit karah binantee gur satigur panth bataaeaa |
I bow at His Feet constantly, and pray to Him; the Guru, the True Guru, has shown me the Way.
ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਮਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
soee bhagat dukh sukh samat kar jaanai har har naam har raataa |
He alone is a devotee, who looks alike upon pleasure and pain; he is imbued with the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥੧॥

sun guramukh sun guramukh naam sabh binase hnaumai paapaa raam |
Listen as Gurmukh, listen as Gurmukh, to the Naam, the Name of the Lord; all egotism and sins are eradicated.
ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਥਿਅੜੇ ਜਗਿ ਤਾਪਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
jap har har jap har har naam lathiarre jag taapaa raam |
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the troubles of the world vanish.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
har har naam jinee aaraadhiaa tin ke dukh paap nivaare |
Those who contemplate the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, are rid of their suffering and sins.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਖੜਗੁ ਹਥਿ ਦੀਨਾ ਜਮਕੰਕਰ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥
satigur giaan kharrag hath deenaa jamakankar maar bidaare |
The True Guru has placed the sword of spiritual wisdom in my hands; I have overcome and slain the Messenger of Death.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥੇ ਪਾਪ ਸੰਤਾਪਾ ॥
har prabh kripaa dhaaree sukhadaate dukh laathe paap santaapaa |
The Lord God, the Giver of peace, has granted His Grace, and I am rid of pain, sin and disease.
ਸੁਣਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਹੰਉਮੈ ਪਾਪਾ ॥੨॥

Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is so pleasing to my mind.
ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪਿ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
mukh guramukh mukh guramukh jap sabh rog gavaaeaa raam |
Speaking as Gurmukh, speaking as Gurmukh, chanting the Naam, all disease is eradicated.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪਿ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਅਰੋਗਤ ਭਏ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥
guramukh jap sabh rog gavaaeaa arogat bhe sareeraa |
As Gurmukh, chanting the Naam, all disease is eradicated, and the body becomes free of disease.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰਾ ॥
anadin sehaj samaadh har laagee har japiaa gahir ganbheeraa |
Night and day, one remains absorbed in the Perfect Poise of Samaadhi; meditate on the Name of the Lord, the inaccessible and unfathomable Lord.
ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਪਰਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jaat ajaat naam jin dhiaaeaa tin param padaarath paaeaa |
Whether of high or low social status, one who meditates on the Naam obtains the supreme treasure.
ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਬਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥

Grant Your Grace, grant Your Grace, O Lord, and save me.
ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਦੀਨ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
ham paapee ham paapee niragun deen tumaare raam |
I am a sinner, I am a worthless sinner, I am meek, but I am Yours, O Lord.
ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਦੀਨ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਦੈਆਲ ਸਰਣਾਇਆ ॥
ham paapee niragun deen tumaare har daiaal saranaaeaa |
I am a worthless sinner, and I am meek, but I am Yours; I seek Your Sanctuary, O Merciful Lord.
ਤੂ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਮ ਪਾਥਰ ਤਰੇ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥
too dukh bhanjan sarab sukhadaataa ham paathar tare taraaeaa |
You are the Destroyer of pain, the Giver of absolute peace; I am a stone - carry me across and save me.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥
satigur bhett raam ras paaeaa jan naanak naam udhaare |
Meeting the True Guru, servant Nanak has obtained the subtle essence of the Lord; through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he is saved.
