ਦੀਪਕ ਜਲੈ ਪਤੰਗ ਵੰਸੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੇਖ ਨ ਹਟੈ ।

deepak jalai patang vans fir dekh na hattai |

Seeing the burning flame of the lamp the moths cannot withhold themselves.

ਜਲ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਫੜਿ ਕਢੀਐ ਮਛ ਨੇਹੁ ਨ ਘਟੈ ।

jal vichahu farr kadteeai machh nehu na ghattai |

The fish is taken out of water but still it does not give up its love for water.

ਘੰਡਾ ਹੇੜੈ ਮਿਰਗ ਜਿਉ ਸੁਣਿ ਨਾਦ ਪਲਟੈ ।

ghanddaa herrai mirag jiau sun naad palattai |

As listening to the drum beat of the hunter, the deer turns towards the sound,

ਭਵਰੈ ਵਾਸੁ ਵਿਣਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਫੜਿ ਕਵਲੁ ਸੰਘਟੈ ।

bhavarai vaas vinaas hai farr kaval sanghattai |

And the black bee by entering the flower perishes itself for enjoying the fragrance.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਪਿਰਮ ਰਸੁ ਬਹੁ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਟੈ ।

guramukh sukh fal piram ras bahu bandhan kattai |

Similarly, the gurmukhs enjoy the delight of love and liberate themselves from all the bondages.

ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਵੰਸੁ ਹੈ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਖਟੈ ।੨੩।੨੭। ਸਤਾਈ ।

dhan dhan gurasakh vans hai dhan guramat nidh khattai |23|27| sataaee |

The family lineage of theGuru and the Sikhs is blessed who following the wisdom of Guru realize the self.
