ਛੋਡਿ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥

chhodd sagal siaanapaa mil saadh tiaag gumaan |

Abandon all your clever tricks; meet with the Holy, and renounce your egotistical pride.

ਅਵਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਵਖਾਨੁ ॥੧॥

avar sabh kichh mithiaa rasanaa raam raam vakhaan |1|

Everything else is false; with your tongue, chant the Name of the Lord, Raam, Raam. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਰਨ ਸੁਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

mere man karan sun har naam |

O my mind, with your ears, listen to the Name of the Lord.

ਮਿਟਹਿ ਅਘ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਵਨੁ ਬਪੁਰੋ ਜਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

mitteh agh tere janam janam ke kavan bapuro jaam |1| rahaau |

The sins of your many past lifetimes shall be washed away; then, what can the wretched Messenger of Death do to you? ||1||Pause||

ਦੂਖ ਦੀਨ ਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥

dookh deen na bhau biaapai milai sukh bisraam |

Pain, poverty and fear shall not afflict you, and you shall find peace and pleasure.

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬਖਾਨੈ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੪॥

gur prasaad naanak bakhaanai har bhajan tat giaan |2|1|24|
