ਜੋ ਇਨ ਜੀਤਿ ਸਕੌ ਨਹਿ ਭਾਈ ॥

jo in jeet sakau neh bhaaee |

If I cannot conquer them, I

ਤਉ ਮੈ ਜੋਰ ਚਿਤਾਹਿ ਜਰਾਈ ॥

tau mai jor chitaeh jaraaee |

Shall burn myself on the funeral pure

ਮੈ ਇਨ ਕਹਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਾ ॥

mai in keh mun jeet na saakaa |

O sage! I could not conquer them

ਅਬ ਮੁਰ ਬਲ ਪੌਰਖ ਸਬ ਥਾਕਾ ॥੩੪੯॥

ab mur bal pauarakh sab thaakaa |349|

My strength and courage have weakened.122.349.

ਐਸ ਭਾਤਿ ਮਨ ਬੀਚ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥

ais bhaat man beech bichaaraa |

ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਸਭਾ ਸਬ ਸੁਨਤ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥

pragatt sabhaa sab sunat uchaaraa |

Thinking in this way in his mind, the king apparently addressed all,

ਮੈ ਬਡ ਭੂਪ ਬਡੋ ਬਰਿਆਰੂ ॥

mai badd bhoop baddo bariaaroo |

ਮੈ ਜੀਤ︀ਯੋ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਸੰਸਾਰੂ ॥੩੫੦॥

mai jeetayo ih sabh sansaaroo |350|

“I am a very great king and I have conquered the whole world.123.350.

ਜਿਨਿ ਮੋ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਬਤਾਈ ॥

jin mo ko ih baat bataaee |

“He who has told me to conquer both these warriors VIVEK and AVIVEK,

ਤਿਨਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਜਾਨੁ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਈ ॥

tin muhi jaan tthgauree laaee |

He has agitated me and driven my life to deception

ਏ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਬੀਰ ਬਡੇ ਬਰਿਆਰਾ ॥

e dvai beer badde bariaaraa |

Both of them are mighty warriors

ਇਨ ਜੀਤੇ ਜੀਤੋ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੩੫੧॥

ein jeete jeeto sansaaraa |351|

The whole world is conquered, on conquering them.124.351.

ਅਬ ਮੋ ਤੇ ਏਈ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਈ ॥

ab mo te eee jin jaaee |

ਕਹਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਥਾ ਸਮਝਾਈ ॥

keh mun mohi kathaa samajhaaee |

“Now they will not go away from me, O sage! describe them to me with clarity

ਅਬ ਮੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਨਾਵੌ ਚਿਖਾ ॥

ab mai dekh banaavau chikhaa |

ਪੈਠੌ ਬੀਚ ਅਗਨਿ ਕੀ ਸਿਖਾ ॥੩੫੨॥

paitthau beech agan kee sikhaa |352|

“Now I prepare my own funeral pyre within your view, and sit within the fire-flames.”125.352.

ਚਿਖਾ ਬਨਾਇ ਸਨਾਨਹਿ ਕਰਾ ॥

chikhaa banaae sanaaneh karaa |

ਸਭ ਤਨਿ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਤਿਲੋਨਾ ਧਰਾ ॥

sabh tan basatr tilonaa dharaa |

After preparing the funeral pyre, he took bath and wore the garments of deep orange colour on his body

ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਲੋਗ ਹਟਕਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਾ ॥

bahu bidh log hattak kar rahaa |

ਚਟਪਟ ਕਰਿ ਚਰਨਨ ਭੀ ਗਹਾ ॥੩੫੩॥

chattapatt kar charanan bhee gahaa |353|

Many people forbade him and even fell at his feet.126.353.

ਹੀਰ ਚੀਰ ਦੈ ਬਿਧਵਤ ਦਾਨਾ ॥

heer cheer dai bidhavat daanaa |

ਮਧਿ ਕਟਾਸ ਕਰਾ ਅਸਥਾਨਾ ॥

madh kattaas karaa asathaanaa |

Giving in charity various types of ornaments and garments, the king prepared a seat within the pyre

ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨਕ ਤਨ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਜਰਾਈ ॥

bhaat anak tan jvaal jaraaee |

ਜਰਤ ਨ ਭਈ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਸੀਅਰਾਈ ॥੩੫੪॥

jarat na bhee jvaal seearaaee |354|

He burnt his body with various kinds of fires, but the flames became cold instead of burning him.127.354.
