Third Mehl:

ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ਅਤਿ ਅੰਨਾ ਬੋਲਾ ॥

maaeaadhaaree at anaa bolaa |

One who is attached to Maya is totally blind and deaf.

ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਸੁਣਈ ਬਹੁ ਰੋਲ ਘਚੋਲਾ ॥

sabad na sunee bahu rol ghacholaa |

He does not listen to the Word of the Shabad; he makes a great uproar and tumult.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥

guramukh jaapai sabad liv laae |

The Gurmukhs chant and meditate on the Shabad, and lovingly center their consciousness on it.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

har naam sun mane har naam samaae |

They hear and believe in the Name of the Lord; they are absorbed in the Name of the Lord.

ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥

jo tis bhaavai su kare karaaeaa |

Whatever pleases God, He causes that to be done.

ਨਾਨਕ ਵਜਦਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥੨॥

naanak vajadaa jant vajaaeaa |2|

O Nanak, human beings are the instruments which vibrate as God plays them. ||2||
