ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Siree Raag, Third Mehl:

ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ॥

aape kaaran karataa kare srisatt dekhai aap upaae |

The Creator Himself created the Creation; He produced the Universe, and He Himself watches over it.

ਸਭ ਏਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਲਖਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

sabh eko ik varatadaa alakh na lakhiaa jaae |

The One and Only Lord is pervading and permeating all. The Unseen cannot be seen.

ਆਪੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥

aape prabhoo deaal hai aape dee bujhaae |

God Himself is Merciful; He Himself bestows understanding.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਦ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥

guramatee sad man vasiaa sach rahe liv laae |1|

Through the Guru's Teachings, the True One dwells forever in the mind of those who remain lovingly attached to Him. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਲੈ ਰਜਾਇ ॥

man mere gur kee man lai rajaae |

O my mind, surrender to the Guru's Will.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਸਭੁ ਥੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

man tan seetal sabh theeai naam vasai man aae |1| rahaau |

Mind and body are totally cooled and soothed, and the Naam comes to dwell in the mind. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਸਾਰ ਕਰੇਇ ॥

jin kar kaaran dhaariaa soee saar karee |

Having created the creation, He supports it and takes care of it.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੀਐ ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥

gur kai sabad pachhaaneeai jaa aape nadar karee |

The Word of the Guru's Shabad is realized, when He Himself bestows His Glance of Grace.

ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਬਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਤਿਤੁ ਸਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥

se jan sabade sohane tith sachai darabaar |

Those who are beautifully adorned with the Shabad in the Court of the True Lord

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਆਪਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੨॥

guramukh sachai sabad rate aap mele karataar |2|

-those Gurmukhs are attuned to the True Word of the Shabad; the Creator unites them with Himself. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਣਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥

guramatee sach salaahanaa jis daa ant na paaraavaar |

Through the Guru's Teachings, praise the True One, who has no end or limitation.

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਵਸੈ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥

ghatt ghatt aape hukam vasai hukame kare beechaar |

He dwells in each and every heart, by the Hukam of His Command; by His Hukam, we contemplate Him.

ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਖੋਇ ॥

gurasabadee saalaaheeai haumai vichahu khoe |

So praise Him through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and drive out egotism from within.

ਸਾ ਧਨ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਅਵਗਣਵੰਤੀ ਰੋਇ ॥੩॥

saa dhan naavai baaharee avaganavantee roe |3|

That soul-bride who lacks the Lord's Name acts without virtue, and so she grieves. ||3||

ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਸਚਿ ਲਗਾ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥

sach salaahee sach lagaa sachai naae tripat hoe |

Praising the True One, attached to the True One, I am satisfied with the True Name.

ਗੁਣ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਾ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਕਢਾ ਧੋਇ ॥

gun veechaaree gun sangrahaa avagun kadtaa dhoe |

Contemplating His Virtues, I accumulate virtue and merit; I wash myself clean of demerits.

ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਵੇਛੋੜਾ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥

aape mel milaaeidaa fir vechhorraa na hoe |

He Himself unites us in His Union; there is no more separation.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਿਦੂ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੬੦॥

naanak gur saalaahee aapanaa jidoo paaee prabh soe |4|27|60|

O Nanak, I sing the Praises of my Guru; through Him, I find that God. ||4||27||60||
