VISHNUPADA SUHI

ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਥ ਬਡੋ ਰਣ ਜੀਤੋ ॥

paaras naath baddo ran jeeto |

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਭਈ ਦੂਸਰ ਕਰਣਾਰਜੁਨ ਭਾਰਥ ਸੋ ਹੁਇ ਬੀਤੋ ॥

jaanuk bhee doosar karanaarajun bhaarath so hue beeto |

Parasnath won the war and he appeared like Karan or Arjun

ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਚਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹਿ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਕੇ ਰਥ ਗਜ ਅਸਵ ਬਹਾਏ ॥

bahu bidh chalai pravaeh sron ke rath gaj asav bahaae |

Various streams of blood flowed and in that current the charious, horses and elephant also flowed

ਭੈ ਕਰ ਜਾਨ ਭਯੋ ਬਡ ਆਹਵ ਸਾਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਲਜਾਏ ॥

bhai kar jaan bhayo badd aahav saat samundar lajaae |

All the seven ocean felt shy before that current of blood (of war)

ਜਹ ਤਹ ਚਲੇ ਭਾਜ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਬਾਣਨ ਅੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥

jeh teh chale bhaaj saniaasee baanan ang prahaare |

Having been struck by the arrows on their limbs, the Sannyasis ran away hither and thither

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਬਜ੍ਰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਭੈ ਤੇ ਪਬ ਸਪਛ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥

jaanuk bajr indr ke bhai te pab sapachh sidhaare |

Like the mounts flying away, getting fearful of Indra’s Vajra, attaching wings to themselves

ਜਿਹ ਤਿਹ ਗਿਰਤ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਕੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਅਰਿ ਘੂਮਤ ਭਿਭਰਾਤ ॥

jih tih girat sron kee dhaaraa ar ghoomat bhibharaat |

The current of blood was flowing on all sides and the wounded warriors were roaming here and there

ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਤ ਛਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਭਜਤ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਜਾਤ ॥੧੧੬॥

nindaa karat chhatreey dharam kee bhajat daso dis jaat |116|

They were running away in all the ten directions and were slandering the discipline of Kshatriyas.42.116.
