ਵਿਗੜੈ ਚਾਟਾ ਦੁਧ ਦਾ ਕਾਂਜੀ ਦੀ ਚੁਖੈ ।

vigarrai chaattaa dudh daa kaanjee dee chukhai |

The full pot of milk gets spoiled by a drop of vinegar.

ਸਹਸ ਮਣਾ ਰੂਈ ਜਲੈ ਚਿਣਗਾਰੀ ਧੁਖੈ ।

sehas manaa rooee jalai chinagaaree dhukhai |

ਬੂਰੁ ਵਿਣਾਹੇ ਪਾਣੀਐ ਖਉ ਲਾਖਹੁ ਰੁਖੈ ।

boor vinaahe paaneeai khau laakhahu rukhai |

The water gossamer spoils water and the shellac becomes the reason for the destruction of the tree.

ਜਿਉ ਉਦਮਾਦੀ ਅਤੀਸਾਰੁ ਖਈ ਰੋਗੁ ਮਨੁਖੈ ।

jiau udamaadee ateesaar khee rog manukhai |

The mad man is mined by diarrhoea and the common man is destroyed by tuberculosis (consumption).

ਜਿਉ ਜਾਲਿ ਪੰਖੇਰੂ ਫਾਸਦੇ ਚੁਗਣ ਦੀ ਭੁਖੈ ।

jiau jaal pankheroo faasade chugan dee bhukhai |

As the birds get entangled in the net out of their greed for seeds,

ਤਿਉ ਅਜਰੁ ਝਾਕ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਵੇਮੁਖੈ ।੧੪।

tiau ajar jhaak bhanddaar dee viaape vemukhai |14|

The desire for the storage of unendurable (earning from the religious place) persists in the heart of the apostate.
