Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥

prabh simarat dookh binaasee |

Remembering God in meditation, pains are dispelled.

ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਜੀਅ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹੋਈ ਸਗਲ ਖਲਾਸੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

bheo kripaal jeea sukhadaataa hoee sagal khalaasee |1| rahaau |

When the Giver of peace to the soul becomes merciful, the mortal is totally redeemed. ||1||Pause||

ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਸੂਝੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਹੁ ਕੋ ਕਿਸੁ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਸੀ ॥

avar na koaoo soojhai prabh bin kahu ko kis peh jaasee |

I know of none other than God; tell me, who else should I approach?

ਜਿਉ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪਾਸੀ ॥੧॥

jiau jaanahu tiau raakhahu tthaakur sabh kichh tum hee paasee |1|

As You know me, so do You keep me, O my Lord and Master.I have surrendered everything to You. ||1||

ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਦ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥

haath dee raakhe prabh apune sad jeevan abinaasee |

God gave me His Hand and saved me; He has blessed me with eternal life.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ॥੨॥੨੮॥੫੧॥

kahu naanak man anad bheaa hai kaattee jam kee faasee |2|28|51|

Says Nanak, my mind is in ecstasy; the noose of death has been cut away from my neck. ||2||28||51||
