ਤੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੈਂਸਾਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਤੰਗ ਮਿਲੰਦੇ ।

te virale sainsaar vich darasan jot patang milande |

Rare are those people who like a moth rush toward the flame of the glimpse (of the Lord).

ਤੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੈਂਸਾਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਮਿਰਗ ਮਰੰਦੇ ।

te virale sainsaar vich sabad surat hoe mirag marande |

They are also rare in the world who merging their consciousness in the Word die like a deer.

ਤੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੈਂਸਾਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਵਲ ਹੁਇ ਭਵਰ ਵਸੰਦੇ ।

te virale sainsaar vich charan kaval hue bhavar vasande |

Rare are they in this world who like black bee adore lotus feet of the Guru.

ਤੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੈਂਸਾਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਪਿਰਮ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਮੀਨ ਤਰੰਦੇ ।

te virale sainsaar vich piram sanehee meen tarande |

Rare are (the Sikhs) in the world who becoming full of love swim like fish.

ਤੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੈਂਸਾਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੰਦੇ ।

te virale sainsaar vich gur sikh gur sikh sev karande |

Such Sikhs of the Guru are also rare who serve other Sikhs of the Guru.

ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੰਮਨਿ ਭੈ ਰਹਨਿ ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਜੀਵੰਦੇ ।

bhai vich jaman bhai rehan bhai vich mar gur sikh jeevande |

Taking birth and sustaining in His order (fear), the Sikhs of the Guru who die while alive (are also rare).

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਚਖੰਦੇ ।੧੭।

guramukh sukh fal piram chakhande |17|

Thus becoming gurmukhs they taste the fruit of joy.
