Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਾਇ ਬਲਾਇ ॥

har simarat teree jaae balaae |

Remembering the Lord in meditation, your misfortune shall be taken away,

ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥

sarab kaliaan vasai man aae |1|

and all joy shall come to abide in your mind. ||1||

ਭਜੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥

bhaj man mere eko naam |

Meditate, O my mind, on the One Name.

ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੈ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jeea tere kai aavai kaam |1| rahaau |

It alone shall be of use to your soul. ||1||Pause||

ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ਅਨੰਤਾ ॥

rain dinas gun gaau anantaa |

Night and day, sing the Glorious Praises of the Infinite Lord,

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੰਤਾ ॥੨॥

gur poore kaa niramal mantaa |2|

through the Pure Mantra of the Perfect Guru. ||2||

ਛੋਡਿ ਉਪਾਵ ਏਕ ਟੇਕ ਰਾਖੁ ॥

chhodd upaav ek ttek raakh |

Give up other efforts, and place your faith in the Support of the One Lord.

ਮਹਾ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥੩॥

mahaa padaarath amrit ras chaakh |3|

Taste the Ambrosial Essence of this, the greatest treasure. ||3||

ਬਿਖਮ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤੇਈ ਜਨ ਤਰੇ ॥

bikham saagar teee jan tare |

They alone cross over the treacherous world-ocean,

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥੪॥੬੮॥੧੩੭॥

naanak jaa kau nadar kare |4|68|137|

O Nanak, upon whom the Lord casts His Glance of Grace. ||4||68||137||
