ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਲਯੋ ਅਹੀਰ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥

sunat bachan taa ko nripat layo aheer bulaae |

After listening to this, the raja called the milkman,

ਤੁਰਤ ਬਾਧਿ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਦਿਯਾ ਸਰਿਤਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਹਾਇ ॥੨੨॥

turat baadh taa ko diyaa saritaa bikhai bahaae |22|

And, immediately, tying him up, threw him m the river.(22)

ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਉਬਾਰਿਯੋ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਆ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਲੀਆ ਬਚਾਇ ॥

praan ubaariyo sukh deea jam te leea bachaae |

‘The milkman who had saved her from the clutches of the death,

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਿਤ ਤੇ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਤਿਸੈ ਐਸੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥੨੩॥

nrip hit te maariyo tisai aiso charitr dikhaae |23|

By enacting a play before the Raja, she got him killed.(23)(1)
